Slater’s 50/50

Unfortunately, my first experience with them was unsatisfactory. I live in the area so I ordered Uber Eats. The jalepenos description said (4) pieces and I received 3. The burgers were to be medium well and they were drastically undercooked. Also, every food box was dirty with oil, ketchup and other smudges on them. I didn't order anything with ketchup on it. Just DIRTY! I clearly am afraid to order from them again. Please beware. Of course Uber Eats will not reimburse my money because they are a sham of a company. I was excited to try a new place.

After seeing great recent reviews, I was absolutely disappointed. Our party of 4 tried the slater burger, best darn cheeseburger, and lone star burger. All were dry and overcooked. The meat was dry, the fries were cold and tasted reheated, fried pickles were over battered, and the brioche buns were thick and dry, too. It took us over 35 minutes to receive our order. Water tasted like it was from the tap. A chair had food on it that we had to clean ourselves. Tables and menus were grimy, and the bathroom floors were beyond sticky.
To top it off, the music is blaring so loud we couldn't hear across the table. Will not return and do not recommend it.

This is my second time here in 3 weeks. The service, food and atmosphere was excellent. I ordered the “The Backyard Classic” again because it was so delicious the first time. I ordered it medium and that’s exactly how it came out. Fry’s were hot and just as good. I sat at the bar and my bartender who has black braids and a super hottie took care of me again. She always checked on me and made sure I was taken care of. I read a lot of complaints about having to wait 20-30 mins for food. Hey, this is not a fast food restaurant. If you want fast food, take your butt to McDonald’s! Will be back again very soon!

First time coming here and I was really surprised to see they a $3 IPA on draft. It was really good especially after 3 of them. I ordered it the Bacon Flight which was really good. Got the Back Yard burger and upgraded to garlic fries which was the Bomb Nasty!! So good. I will definitely be back again!

Upon entering, the staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, available to answer any of your questions. I had gone during lunch so it was relatively easy to get a table, but it does seem more limited towards seating so it could be a wait during dinner rush hours. The menu is focused on their burger and bacon offerings if that's what you're in the mood for but it was delicious! Feel free to ask about additions or customizations as well. My server was great at checking in with me and offering some recommendations as well. The atmosphere was great to be in, though given it's wide open wall windows and that it's on the second floor makes it look like it would look better after the sun goes down and more lights come on!

My food was great, the portion of burger and fries easily filled me up and my cocktail was as refreshing as it sounded. The burger was cooked to a nice medium and was juicy when biting into it. The fries were a bit of a mixed bag with some being hot and crispy while others were still somewhat warm and floppy, but they came with their own made ketchup which was tasty! They have quite a variety of options and I would definitely come back to try more of their menu items!

They have a nice selection of drinks, both beer and cocktails. We got the Nachos with chicken and the BBB burger. Nachos were OK. They are thin chips which aren't great for Nachos. The added chicken seems just like pre made chicken breast strips cut and thrown on top. The burger was good, had great flavor and didn't need a bunch of sauce. Fries also were really good. I would come back again.

Came to have dinner. The ladies greeted the customers as soon as they walked in. No tables were ignored. The bar was lively with laughter. The red headed bartender was engaging while also servicing all her customers.The food was hot and delicious.
I've been here before but today my server was a girl with long braids. I can't remember her name. It was some kind of car but not a Mercedes. She was attentive knew the menu was able to service all the tables in her area. She was hopping around getting everyone their orders, drink refill and checked up on all her parties. She had a large party and some smaller tables. There was a single diner and she gave that customer the same attention as her large party.
The atmosphere was very lively. The only con would be to turn the sound down a tad. It's hard to hear people in your party. But other than this was by far the best dining experience I have had at slaters. Thank ladies. I will be back

Service was horrible! I took my lil sister and her friend out for a late night snack and food came out cold, server would just walk past us! sat with the food on the table for 5 mins with no napkins or forks to eat! Finally she came by we got what we wanted and she said if we needed something we could have waved her down! I am a server and that s not how you give service!

How to order a drink at Slaters: Sit at the bar for over 20 minutes with no acknowledgement, walk downstairs and go to Outback Steakhouse where you are greeted immediately and served right away.

I have no idea if the food or drinks are any good. I was part of a large group that had reserved the restaurant for a private event. Manager and staff were completely unprepared. Quickly became obvious that we were not going to get fed in a timely manner. But there is a silver lining, some of us opted to go down to the Lazy Dog Cafe on the next level and had great food and service. Highly recommend the Lazy Dog Restaurant instead of Slaters

Planned an offsite dinner event for a business conference and bought out the restaurant for 11/12. It was the WORST experience I have ever had as an event planner. Cairos and Sonia were completely unprepared to host our group. 1. When I arrived 45 minutes prior to our event start time to make sure things would be ready for our 200 guests, there was no signage stating the restaurant was closed for a private event and they were still seating patrons that were walking in. A few were still seated during our event an hour after it started. A handwritten sign was taped in the door after bringing it to Cairos attention. 2. We had agreed upon buffet service and I even spoke with them earlier in the day to confirm. NOTHING was setup as discussed and the change of plans were never communicated to me. Cairos decided to have guests place individual orders from our agreed upon menu and assured me that food was ready to go out and our guest would be served within 10-15 minutes. However, there were only 2 wait staff taking orders for 200 people! A lot of our guests left because they waited over an hour to get food, and some even up to 2 hours to receive theirs. 3. There was only 1 bartender. Need I say more about how long it took to get drinks? 4. Gaslighting is not ok. Cairos kept telling me not to worry and that everyone was having a great time, which was far from the truth. I spoke with numerous guests who were unhappy and could tell there was something wrong with the staffs ability to serve us. Every time I spoke with him about it he said it wasnt true. 5. The staff admitted they didnt know there was a private event; that Cairos did not communicate with them and they were not prepared for such a large group. When he was called out on this by me, my Sr. Director and VP, he got extremely defensive and continued to lie about it. It was extremely insulting. I feel bad for the staff because they were hustling and doing their best. None of it was their fault. In the end, conversations got heated and cameras were recording. Cairos can talk all he wants, but most of our guests know he was out of line and could not admit they werent prepared. He and Sonia seemed to be stoned or high, which was also noticed and commented to me by several people. DO NOT HOST A PRIVATE EVENT HERE!!

Ive been to other slaters in the past, especially Pasadena... The atmosphere was good and the server too but the good quality was garbage compared to what Im used to with the Pasadena location... My 50/50 burger had no bacon flavor in it and tasted like they didnt even season it, the bacon ketchup was watered down and hardly had bacon compared to other locations... They take no pride in their food! I will not be coming back...

Honestly this place has really let me down. We have been to the one in Pasadena and that place was awesome. We loved our waitress and the food was soooo gooood. It was so great, we figured we would try this place. The first time we decide to give it a go, the food took forever, apparently the kitchen was slammed and they made us wait a whole thirty minutes to tell us. Our other group was already there before us so they waited even longer. My boyfriend and his sisters boyfriend ended up canceling their order because they had a movie. My boyfriends sister waited on hers for an additional 15 minutes, finally after 45 min. to got her food. The staff really didnt interact with us too much. A few days later, we went and gave it a second chance in the day time. The waitress and staff were more freindly and the food came to us quick. Only down side is the chocolate they used for the milkshake tasted god awful. But overall, it was a good experience. About two weeks ago we decided to give the afternoon staff another chance. We got there and we were practically ignored, finally after an akward two minutes or so they said have a seat anywhere. No one brought a menue, asked us if we wanted water or even said your waiter will be with you in a sec . The people behind us were getting the star treatment from their waitresses, and I ment to make that plural by the way. But it was like we werent even there. We felt so ignored we just got up and left. They werent that busy that night, if they were, the staff would have had time to be chit chatting and having a leisurely ball with the table right behind us. And even if they were, a hi welcome, the waitress will be right with you or even a hey, heres the menu would of been fine. I usually dont make reviews like this, but I felt so offended by the staff i just had to write a review. I really hate when people assume that because you dont look like a big tipper, they can just give you horrible service. You never know, maybe its those people that end up being the most generous. We opted for BJs and they hit it out of the park.

Totally disappointed, we went this Friday, September 20, to try the Burgers and they took forever. First, they gave us the drinks without Napkins. They took a while to give us some cold and oily fries and even though we were waiting more than 30 minutes, they never gave us the Burgers. My husband and I went there around 3pm, we sat at the bar waiting to be acknowledged but 15min passed. There were two bartenders at the time one fixing a drink but reading on how to do it and the other one was stocking bottles on the shelf. No one had the courtesy to noticed us. Bad service. I am so disappointed of the experience and service being there for the first time. We left after 17min of waiting time.

First time and last time ill ever step in this establishment. Service was bad got seated quick but the food was brought in 30 mins waves with missing food and reorders 3 -4 times . There is a reason this restaurant is empty most of the time. Spend your time and money somewhere else. I wont ever return , either will any of my party members.

I came opening day and the service was very slow for fries and one bar drink. I came back a couple months later and the service was still bad. Our food was cold and bland. Our server wasnt on top of any of his tables and it wasnt a busy night. All tables had people looking around for their server to assist or give an update on food times. $50 wasnt worth it here and I left very disappointed with everything. Maybe its a management issue? This place wont last long.

Went to grab a bite before a film, first time here. After we ordered our food, the wait staff seemed a bit clueless as to what was going on with our food. It took them about 90 minutes to make a milkshake. The cheeseburger bowl was not particularly good, though the pb & jealous with ice cream was good and the Guinness milk shake was fine.

Walked in at 9:45pm on a Saturday. Not very busy. As soon as I walked in, bartender said the kitchen was closed. Their hours are listed open until 12am. So no business then I guess. Not great service apparently. Ive worked front facing customers, and know this is not how you treat them.

I would leave 0 if allowed, but they literally looked at me and my grandma and just left us there. I didnt even get to try the food and I started crying because my grandma left and I felt unable to move because I felt like I was annoying inconvenience. Dont eat here on the weekend. You have to get someone to take your order yourself. Then when food comes out it is wrong. As if it was our fault and then they see what was in fact ordered. I used to hold Slater s as somewhere I liked to eat. Sorry I wont eat here any more. You could of apologized for the poor service. But even manager comes out and acts as business as usual.

Over the time of a few months Ive been here three times. Each time the service got worse, and worse, and still worse. It started off suboptimal and went down from there. The most recent visit had my guest and I not even able to be served- even the bartender was running food out to the minimal number of tables that had guests seated. This location needs help. Leadership first and foremost, but also proper staffing. The food was good but the service was deplorable- at best.

If I could give them a 0 start I would. Food taste like cardboard. They treated us like garbage, never gave us the delivery order. We came to the place, it it s suppose to be open until 10pm and said that we needed to handle the refund on our own. They didn t allow us to record what they were saying. Honestly wasn t what I expected service took too long. It took about 30 mins for my wife and me to get some water while a table the waitress is taking shots with another customer, funny. But our food was cold, not cooked to our liking, our drinks took forever. Bad first impression, our waitress was the only good thing about our experience she was so nice and made sure we re good but everybody and everything else was trash. I can t even recommend anything because that bacon platter was trash and my burger was too cold to try and I didn t want them to make another one because they take took long. Maybe next time we will have a better experience but they need to re-evaluate their staff.

It is Fathers Day so I decided to take my lovely father and my family here. Well dang flabbit I was wrong. They said 25 min wait and they lied on this holy Sunday. We got our drinks first and then waited 40 minutes for food that we never got. You could look around and see who didn t get their food. Only one couple got their food and the restaurant wasn t even crowded. So, other people started leaving and so did we. Stop playing with my father and others on their day! At least the drinks were free tho

Initially thought this would be a great place for dinner. First timer and was offered a free bacon flight. Our group of 3 all ordered fish and chips. We waited awhile and someone came out and said they were out of fish. We all ordered the chicken sandwich, and the wait began anew. After 45 minutes or so, we flagged down the server and asked about the bacon flight appetizer. It finally came out. Bacon had the consistency of jerky, hard and chewy. We waited another long time and server said the food will be out soon. It took so long we joked about ordering a pizza to be delivered while we waited. Sandwiches finally came out, WAY over cooked, bun was hard and not appetizing looking at all. All of us removed the bun and attempted to eat the chicken. Within an hour of leaving the restaurant, all three of us were sick with GI issues. Cannot recommend at all. Service was exceptionally slow and the food was not good.

Was stationed here in SD from 12-15 and regularly came here. Place looked nice, had an upbeat atmosphere and expansive menu with great food. Just came to the area to visit and wanted to have an old fav. Walking in was a shock, not sure what happened to this place did COVID hit them hard? Place looks a little grungy, menu is mediocre and the quality of the food was pretty blah especially for the price. Unfortunately disappointed. Service was fine.

Del Amo location closed their doors at 9:20 and wouldn t let us in. reservations are available and bookable online up until midnight which is weird. if your hours updated, then it should be at the very least on your website. disappointing as it would have been our first time dining here.

I came here on Tues trivia night. Fun fun fun who would have known how fun this game could be. The vibe was good and me and my friends really enjoyed our night out.This place is my new favorite burger spot in Torrance I had the Nashville wings and the kings luau burger . Both the wings and burger were so delicious the spam on the burger is totally different from a traditional burger but it works. The rub on the wings had a sweet but spicy kick to them. I also had the strawberry margarita that hit the spot. The customer service was great. I will definitely be back.

After a nice visit to Del Amo Fashion Center, the group I was with were looking at places to have dinner. We decided to visit Slaters 50/50 as it turned out to be a superb one. As we ingress, the staff are welcoming and keen to help us get situated. The atmosphere was quite upbeat and lively in the aesthetic sense of the place. Once seated were assisted by a waitress, Ms. Bridjette, with making sure our experience was smooth and fulfilling. She is well versed with questions we had about the menu and sought to seek answers if she didnt have them on the spot. Based on our questions she prompted us with suggestions on the menu as we were looking for something just right, not too heavy nor light. The meals were cooked and seasoned well, nothing was overwhelming or the contrary. Anyone who is looking for a meal after shopping, this is the place to be. Kid-friendliness: My group contained a younger member of society who wanted to accompany her parent and significant other while I tagged along. She absolutely loved interacting with the staff and drawing on the kids sheet provided for her while waiting for her food. The waitress also made a great job in making sure everything was right for her making her happy and looking forward to future visits.

It was my first time being there and it was a great experience for me. The first thing we noticed when we arrived there was that it was crowded. There is always a sign that the food is good when that happens, mind you the queue to get a seat wasnt long. There was only a five-minute wait for us. I was very pleased with the customer service I received. I felt bad that I didnt tip the waiter more than $10. next time I wont order an appetizer, I will just go straight to the menu since the appetizer was big enough for me to eat on my own. As a result, I ended up eating half of my burger and bringing the rest home with me. As you can see, it was FIRE!!! I ll be back soon.

Came here about two weeks after opening and it was the slowest service. Food was okay. Nothing special. Decided to come back and try again a couple months later, hoping they had worked out the kinks. Nope. Service is slow. And I mean SLOW. We got our drinks and I don t know what happened to our server but we ended up flagging down another one fifteen minutes later to order. Everyone is nice, but damn, seems like they don t know how to do their jobs. Also, they took grilled cheese off the kids menu.. why? It s a dang classic that every kid loves. Anyway, huge bummer because we loved the location in Huntington Beach and were so excited to have one of our favorite restaurants so close. Ordered a vegetarian burger and was served full on meat patty. Server apologized profusely but also was dropping F bombs left and right in front of my 7 and 9 year old. Manager came and apologized and I appreciate that, but we will definitely not be coming back, sadly.

We waited more than 30-35 mins to get our food. People next door got their food before we did, and they arrived later time. 15 to 20 mins to get a single beer. Our waiter kept saying should be out soon past 30 mins and yet nothing.

We often grab a quick meal and a cocktail or two before a movie. Slaters 50/50 has been long awaited. The barrier closing the space off and advertising the new restaurant that had been up since before the shutdown of 2020 has finally come down. We were very excited to try it out. It looks like a bar and grill with lots of tvs showing sports games. Its menu is very similar to that of Lazy Dog. I even ordered a fried chicken salad, which read as very similar to a dish at Lazy Dog. However, the restaurant, the dish, and the service all commpares very poorly. The service wasnt attentive or smooth. The chicken wings were decent. My salad was ok- fresh enough. The fried chicken needed some extra sauce. The dish also had what tasted and crunched like rocks. When I finally saw our waiter - I said that to him, but he insisted they were cornnuts. I love corn nuts- ah, these were more like fried un-popped popcorn kernels- the ones you find at the bottom of the bucket. See the photo. Im lucky to have not broken a tooth. We saw the waiter a total of three times in 45 minutes. Once to order, at the 26 minute he came by with our drinks. He made no comment about when the food would be ready. At the 35 minute mark, our food was delivered but not by our waiter. We were short utensils. We never were asked or got refreshed drinks. At the 45-minute mark, we saw our waiter and flagged him down. We got the needed sauce after we got our check. We managed to leave soon after and, yes, in time for our movie. Maybe the issues are because they just opened. However, I wont visit here again. There are plenty of other restaurants to try,

Amazing service, great quality, Good portions, Great aesthetics. Me and a friend had tried their habanero burger(i don t remember what it was called but it had a habanero), Comes with alot of peppers in it and packs a nice punch(i was dying of heat). Our waitress was incredibly nice and even offered some milk to help us .

First time there, great atmosphere and only waited about 5 minutes. We both had the burgers, it was hot when bought to the table. But they charge for 1.00 for pickle, .50 each for mustard and mayonnaise, our waiter didnt know they were charging for these items . They should post a sign or something on the menu, really cant believe they are treating there customers this way ! Because the minimum wage has increased, whats next a soda fee or coin slot to get in to use the restrooms.

I ordered the original slaters 50/50 burger, which comes with fries. The service was quick and friendly. This is a must if you have never had a good quality burger. The ingredients are fresh and made to order. Good place to watch sports and eat a good burger. Parking: Plenty of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access with the elevator.

The food was good and so was the service but Im so disappointed when I paid cash and she didnt give me Back the .62 cents that she owed me. Im wondering, is this a new thing? Do they just not Give back coin change anymore. .I know it was just 62 cents, but it really angered me. Went back again same thing paid cash and the shorted me .79 cents Im done tipping this is just rude!!

Me and my partner were very excited and had high expectations for this new restaurant but unfortunately we we re highly disappointed. I ve never needed to write a bad review, nor have I ever wanted to but what we had to deal with was totally unacceptable. We were sat down in which it took 10-15 minutes JUST to take our order. We got our drinks after another 20 minutes because we had to ASK someone to bring them out. We then waited another 40 minutes just for food that we never got. (Mind you, we ordered drinks and food at the same exact time.) Other hungry guests were also waiting for their food, they had to complain too because of how long it was taking. Oddly enough, bigger parties were getting food before us as only a table of two even though we had been there way earlier? After waiting an hour for food we eventually just walked out. It doesn t take an hour to make just two burgers, thats ridiculous. I ve never had to walk out of a restaurant before so this should tell you something. To sum it all up, the service was non existent. There was waiters standing around everywhere but we only got checked on once. The manager and staff had no clue what was going on or what to do, they just seemed confused the moment we walked in. It wasn t busy at all either so theres no reason why our experience should have been this bad. As a manager you could ve at least apologized for everything or even offered an ounce of service but nothing was done. So thats a one star for me. I think this place would be able to thrive if they got all new staff. Or maybe just finding an organized manager would fix all these problems. (P.S - Don t let these silly 5 star reviews fool you.)

Ty and Mike seem to be the only two people working in the whole place. They did everything they could to make our situation right but unfortunately a series of complete failures made it impossible to enjoy our experience. Thank you Ty and Mike for trying as hard as you could to rectify the situation. Would give you both 5/5 stars. Unfortunately the restaurant as a whole deserves less. Management should take a few pointers from you.

Very unorganized and unprofessional. Dirty cross contamination and using week old product that should not be used to serve. Overpriced burgers and fried food, honestly save your money and dont get caught up in the hype. FYI, most of these 5 star reviews are paid for by neighboring businesses. I only write reviews worthy of writing. I do not post reviews when people do their jobs right. I only inform people of below average services or services that have gone beyond the call of duty.

Upon entering, the staff were all incredibly kind and attentive, available to answer any of your questions. I had gone during lunch so it was relatively easy to get a table, but it does seem more limited towards seating so it could be a wait during dinner rush hours. The menu is focused on their burger and bacon offerings if thats what youre in the mood for but it was delicious! Feel free to ask about additions or customizations as well. My server was great at checking in with me and offering some recommendations as well. The atmosphere was great to be in, though given its wide open wall windows and that its on the second floor makes it look like it would look better after the sun goes down and more lights come on! My food was great, the portion of burger and fries easily filled me up and my cocktail was as refreshing as it sounded. The burger was cooked to a nice medium and was juicy when biting into it. The fries were a bit of a mixed bag with some being hot and crispy while others were still somewhat warm and floppy, but they came with their own made ketchup which was tasty! They have quite a variety of options and I would definitely come back to try more of their menu items! Wheelchair accessibility: This is on the second floor of the outside part of del amo, right next to the escalators, so to get to it, you would need to use the elevators across from the restaurant to get there.

The whole staff was awesome, and the food was just as I remembered the first time I had it in Anaheim Hills! Its a huge change from the Hermosa location and hope this time it takes off. I just came in because I wanted a beer but I was feeling hungry so I thought I d get the fries. The bartender asked if I wanted to upgrade to garlic fries and that sounded good so I said sure. The fries came out loaded with cheese and I can t eat cheese. I was immediately displeased and refused to eat any. It s not the fault of the server because how were they supposed to know I can t eat cheese but the fault of the establishment for not training staff to ask people ordering food if they have any dietary restrictions. Dietary restrictions: I wasn t asked if I had any dietary restrictions before upgrading my fries lol.

Walked in at 1:20 was sat right away me my wife and 2 grandkids sat at our table for over 20 minutes before the manager came over to see if someone to our drink order. We were sitting right next to the host desk 7 servers standing there with the manager not helping customers what a sad excuse of running a business. The manager should be fired. We walked out over 30 minutes no service still standing at the desk.

Really good burgers. You can build your own or pick a specialty burger. If you love bacon get the 50/50 patty that is half bacon, half beef...delish! So glad they finally put a restaurant in the South Bay!

I am very unhappy, because the waitress was very unpleasant. they take our credit cards and leave with them, she doesnt even ask us how much we would like to tip, she chooses the percentage herself, moreover when I approach her at the cash register, she tells me: yes ? what do you want ? (uh! maybe check that youre not counting something else!) they charged for something that never happened. she told me that the tip is 20% because there are 9 of you but when I calculated, it was less than what she asked me, I gave her the amount of 20% and she insisted on having more! no kidding ! not only was she rude and she wants more tip! result: NEVER AGAIN!

Our server Breanna truly made my little girls night out something to remember. She was fun and matched our energy to a T. She recommended us the cotton candy martini and we got 5 rounds of those along with a couple Cherry Blossom Margarita and some Slayers Spiked Lemonade (all were fabulous)! The girls and I had an absolute blast and we will definitely be returning!

First time here! I had to order the vampire dip to start since Ive never had something like that before, I tell you, DELICIOUS! I also ordered the Well Burger because Im a huge burger fan. Rickytopspeed is a troll. Just look at his feedbacks, and you ll see that he is King 1 star! The food at Slater s 50/50 is amazingly delicious. The Maple Bourbon bacon wings are top notch! Also, the Vampire dip is always a hit! Don t miss the opportunity to experience gourmet burgers, and incredibly great food, at reasonable pricing! Place is solid, and why they earned the 5 star from me.

The servers were friendly and quick. The restaurant also looked really nice, on top of all that the food was really good. My favorite was the mac&cheese and bacon balls. There was much flavor infused in them.
