We have been coming here for birthday celebrations since they opened but tonight was not good. We were the only table in the entire place and a party came in with about 8 people in the back room and our waitresses completely disappeared. Our meal took 2.5 hours because we had to wait so long to get everything. I also said in the reservation and when we got there that it was my husbands birthday because my daughter loves the birthday Twinkie they give out and she was so excited and the waitress totally forgot and never returned to our table. Kind of ruined my daughters birthday celebration for him. Guess we will find another birthday celebration since the party was more important than the two tables you had in the restaurant.

I really wanted to like this place (came here twice in 3 weeks) but I feel that the food falls short. We ordered Mahalo Sashimi and it came with the skin on it, and a beige color. I tried eating it but couldnt it was so tough. The waitress was very nice and attentive. Next time 2 of our party ordered the skirt steak with rice and asparagus. Both of the skirt steaks were so tough we had trouble cutting it and actually bent the cutlery trying. Additionally, we were in the bar, and the waitress who was also the bartender told us that the booth we were sitting in was reserved for a party at 7pm (it was only 5pm) there was not sign on the table and she was insistent we not sit there even though we told her we would be gone before 7pm. i dont get it. I think the owner needs to rethink the quality of the fish and meat they are serving.

Happy I finally stopped in. I felt like I was at Disneyland because of the cinematic-grade decor and experience. We walked in during live Tahitian dances. It was delightful. Food and drinks were tasty with large selections. I was hesitant to try because I presumed the food and drinks would be overly sweet I was wrong. I loved the fresh and high-quality ingredients in the tiki drinks. The food was also fresh. Customer service was exceptional. Megan was very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the detail and dedication of this professionally managed family-owned restaurant. I will definitely comeback and bring friends.

We stayed at the hotel attached to the Kahuna and wanted to not have to drive. We were blown away with how good it was! There is a burlesque show that happens on Tuesday but we had 2 younger boys so the hostess was gracious enough to put us in a corner. We ordered the fried rice with 4 sushi rolls. EVERYTHING tasted so. I had a mushroom allergy and they were kind enough to make sure there was no mushrooms. Our server was super attentive and quick. We would definitely come back!

I was expecting a very dank and tiny tiki bar when I came here. But it turns out this place is fantastic. The sushi they serve here is really good and there are snacks are very upscale bar, food favorites with lots of fish and sushi options there. They have some campy live music that fits with a vibe of the place. And the servers are just wonderful and so friendly. This is a good spot for a date. I brought a date here. It did not lead to love or romance, which is a bummer, and because my date was super pretty and super funny, but she was not feeling the awesomeness of this b espectacled gentleman. While I was crest fallen I still had a great time and would absolutely come back here.

I cannot recommend Kahana Tiki Tu enough! I had been at a birthday party at Kahana Tiki Tu and had such a good time that I planned my own birthday party there. Arlette and the rest of the team made it easy to plan and were extremely helpful; they set aside a part of the restaurant for me and my party of >25 people. The whole restaurant has really fun decorations and the back area where we had our event was no exception. During the event, Riley took amazing care of us and was an absolute rock star, keeping everyones orders and names straight. Lastly, we all loved the food (we ordered mostly sushi) and tiki drinks. Overall, we were blown away by the personal and excellent service, the delicious drinks and food and the fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back and I know several of my friends are now planning to go back as well. Thank you for a great time!!

Ate here last night, first time for me, I wanted sushi but the 3 thing I wanted they were out of so I ordered the Reef salad. When it came there was obviously no lobster in it so I asked the waitress and she told me it was mixed in with the crab which was smothered with mayonase. They dont say (on the menu) there was mayonaise in the salad) bottom line there was NO lobster. There was also no Mango (or mango salsa) When I asked about that the waitress said shed ask the chef. She came back to the table with a small plate of Mango salsa,, put it on the table and said here you go No explanation, No sorry about that Nothing. Then when we asked for the bill We were charged for Some Salmon which we ordered but never got! She of course took that off the bill. When I walked in (after making a reservation) I noticed how big and beautifully decorated the place was but I also noticed there were only two tables with customers. I thought it odd for a Friday night but after my experience I understand why the place was pretty much empty. What a disappointing dining experience. I will not be back!

We recently held a surprise party for my friend at Kahuna Tiki Tu and the service was outstanding! The manager called to confirm our party room booking in advance and made sure that all of our group s needs were met. The waitstaff was very friendly and accommodating - esp. considering that we had 12 people with multiple checks. The food was excellent and everyone enjoyed the fun drinks. It was such a cool atmosphere and my friend was very impressed. They even let us bring in our own cake and some additional party decorations to make the occasion special (see photos 4 & 5.) Pricing was definitely reasonable and the venue has parking. Can t say enough nice things about the experience and will definitely be coming back! Dietary restrictions: They had gluten free options! Including dedicated gluten free soy sauce.

Truly was not very impressed with this place. The wait staff was very friendly and informative, but perhaps a bit understaffed as it took a while to be noticed to be seated and then we seemed to wait a long time for our waitress to check in with us, so if we needed drink refills or something for our food, it wasnt easy to get. I was not thrilled with the portion sizes of the food despite the prices they charged. We ended up getting a pizza after from somewhere else because we did not get close to full, and did not want to pay for another expensive dish. They have a large menu for both food and drinks, and even a kids menu. Id say if youre looking for a spot for social drinking, this would be a good place. I wouldnt recommend this place for a solid dinner. Parking: Parking in front is shared with hotel. People were parking on sides of the building (blocking hotels back parking lot), or on the street.

I stumbled upon this place while looking for a tiki bar. I was surprised to see that they have a burlesque show on Tuesdays (bring cash for tips!). Our reservation was for 8:15pm. We arrived early and although it was nearly empty the hostess had us wait. A few minutes pass and a woman with long hair and a black sweater told us to hold on....still. Ok. Then she asks for our name a bit later and we get seated. The area where everyone was seated was close together. We were a party of two and there were two tables nestled along the wall that had about 10 people. I couldnt see anything to the left but there were smaller parties between 2 to 3 people. To say service was terrible is an understatement. It took about 15 minutes to get two drinks. The hostess was running back and forth between the larger tables bringing drink after drink while we waited. There was only one hostess that I saw and she was in charge of the party of 10. My boyfriend asked the hostess twice for our drinks - the first time he asked when she walked by and the second time (after waiting a while) he got up to ask again. The drinks that came out werent even that good. They are strong but in a flavorless way. The amount of alcohol was overwhelming that you couldnt enjoy anything else that they drink had. It had no balance. Blended mango tango - all you tasted was the alcohol and nothing else Spike punch - same thing. You dont taste the pineapple, orange juice, or grenadine. It took about 15 minutes to get our shrimp cocktail. Seeing how slow service was we opted not to order anymore food. We ordered the spike Dole whip and it came out a melted mess. They should opt to serve the dole whip with a shot so the person can pour it over - make it interactive and maintain the appearance. Again the alcohol used was so strong and overpowering...no balance. Not that good. Show was done and we decided there was no incentive to stay. We waited about 20 minutes for the check. No kidding. We asked the hostess twice but she was busy with the bigger tables. Then randomly we see this guy serving drinks and wondered where hed been this entire time. He brought us our check within minutes. The woman with the black sweater was everywhere else except where she was needed. I dont know if she was a manager but she was running around doing everything but help the hostess. tl:dr - someone needs to delegate tasks. Drinks are stiff and flavorless.

Cocktails were very good, food we ordered was overall tasty but nothing amazing. Service was poor - it took ages to get our food and drinks, waitress was never around and dirty plates werent cleared even when we got our deserts. Management I would rate as very poor. Obviously not enough staff, place opened 1.5 hours AFTER opening time which means no cleaning or food prep done before they welcome guests. Not well run and wouldnt recommend it. FOR THE OWNER: Saturday, March 18th 2023 Kahuna Tiki Tu Riverside location opened at 5.20pm. We were there waiting with a staff member outside and other potential diners also came past and commented that the place should open at 4pm. I would be very worried about cleanliness in your kitchen, bathrooms and restaurant with late opening times and we were there to witness it opening late on the date above.

The Bar: I like this place, definitely a spot I would come back to again and again. The music on a Friday at 5pm is reminiscent of 70s rock... Tom Petty, Bob Seger, etc. Their happy hour is Monday through Thursday 4p-6p. Lots of nice food and drink specials. Ill be back soon and post up more photos of that fun experience. The atmosphere in here is very tropical, hawaiian, you get the idea. Its like Pirates meets a Shanghai saloon, who had a Fiji lovechild by way of Tahiti. Maybe? Lol. Its a great date spot if you want to remain anonymous, and you know what Im talking about! Sshhhh, I wont tell if you wont. The Staff: What I really love the most is the service! The waitresses and bartenders in here are definitely top-notch. Havent had a chance to explore the sushi bar yet, but I will be back. This is a great spot if youre feeling nostalgic, and want to reminisce about the 70s and 80s Tiki bars. I would definitely recommend this place to the locals, A tourist, a rolling pack of attorneys riding their choppers, or even just a spot to come in and have a appetizer and a drink on a Tuesday.

This place went downhill and crashed recently. The owners aren t there as often as they used to so their new staff is spending their payroll gossiping and laughing all night and turning away groups of regular loyal customers. If you don t have a reservation you will likely be told you can not get a table or even sit at the bar even if the restaurant is completely empty. If you do have a reservation your food and drinks will take ages to be brought to your table and won t taste anywhere as fresh as they used to make it. Staff is unfriendly and NOT happy you are there because it means they actually have to work and can t be getting paid to gossip and laugh amongst themselves all night. Hopefully the owners care enough to fix the staff and customer service issue and get their quality back. But if you are still looking for a tiki themed place in the area with great food/drinks and REAL customer service try Tonga Hut Tiki or Tiki No.

My girlfriend and I made reservations as we live 45 minutes away or so. When we arrived, we were not greeted for the next 5-10 minutes as we waited by the reception desk. We eventually got seated in the bar area and waited another 5-10 minutes before someone came around and took our order. We took this opportunity to order our food as well. It took quite a while for the food to come out, but it was pretty tasty. We ordered a lot of sushi and were waiting on 2 specialty rolls. After looking at the clock and seeing it has almost been 2 hours since arriving, we asked to cancel the remaining order so we could just leave. We were assured that our food was being prepared right now (it was not. Not until we brought it up to our server and didnt want it anymore) We eventually had to ask to revise our bill, paid, and left with one of the sushi rolls to-go. In short: tasty drinks, tropical theming, and a big menu do not make up for the extensive wait and lack of service experienced. Maybe we caught them on an off day, but i expected more on a Friday night out to any restaurant.

I got a little confused with the reservation system since theres more than one location. I went off the one from Google maps but they couldnt find me in their system which was weird. Not that it really mattered since we went on a day where they werent really packed in the restaurant. The decor really is fantastic. It has a cool retro 50s vibe but still pulls you into the tiki world without being too campy. The menu is also huge and also really playful. From Kahlua pork to sushi rolls, pupu platters to fish on a stick, just a lot of Asian inspired dishes. (Which makes sense since it was formerly Mikado sushi) We had to get a tiki cocktail being in a tiki bar so I ordered a navy grog in their take home cup. I would have liked it to be an actual tiki cup but the glass was cool too. My only gripe would be that the plates themselves are a little too big for the food thats on them, and they add salad on everything to kind of offset that. Id honestly rather have smaller plates and less salad thats going to end up being wasted instead. At the end though, we were satisfied. I noticed that the bar had more patrons than the restaurant unless they were more restaurant goers at the hotel next door. Maybe well be back for the aloha hour next time though

Sizeable portions for a good price point and the drinks....WOW! Well presented and full of flavor while packing a good punch. Their spicy aioli is to die for. My recommendation, get the surfer burger. We will absolutely be back again.

We ordered 0 sushi. Please skip this if youre planning on going here for sushi (as the reviews all seem good)! We ordered oysters, scallops, a poke bowl and jellyfish. Long story short the food wasnt washed. We didnt really care that an oyster came broken but each one had more crunch than the next (Im not kidding, it was... Crunchy). The scallops were well cooked however equally filled with shell crunch :/ On the plus side the poke bowl was well crafted. Also how many places serve jellyfish? Pretty interesting, even though we didnt take more than a nibble each! The patio overlooks the hotel hallway and pool so leaves much to be desired. Nevertheless it cant be easy running a restaurant during March 2021 (C-19)... So we have an extra star for that. Ohh lastly one of our party got food poisoning and was puking his guts out all night. But thats always a risk when going for seafood!
