I had been here before, but not for a while. The restaurant decor hasn't changed and the dust tells it all. They no longer offer the great, warm bread. Now, if you ask for it they bring cold, toasted baguette slices. Service was ok, but tpp busy to check on customers. Plenty of parking.

We were here for a Saturday Brunch with a party of 8. The service was good, and our waiter was nice and very patient with us. Food was served quickly and, for the most part, was delicious. Everyone who ordered eggs was unhappy and didn't eat them. They did not taste like anything at all, and the texture was watery. We were also a little disappointed in how greasy the bacon was. Overall, not bad.. just expected a little more quality for the price.

Ever since Covid hit, lots of changes with everything!! Mimi's used to be one of my favorite breakfast places. But things change. My favorite used to be the French toast, they used thick Brioche bread, with lots fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Now it looks like regular thin toast, doesn't have that lil hint of sweetness, and I got 4 slices of strawberries. This is only one of other menu items that have changed. It's been a second since I've been here, now I know why.

I had the most delightful dinner date with my wife at this restaurant. The courteous staff made us feel truly special throughout our evening. We started with a mouthwatering Cobb salad that was fresh and bursting with flavor. The pot pie had a unique tangy twist that was absolutely delicious and kept us craving more. And those wonderful muffins, they were the perfect ending to our meal, a true treat for our taste buds!

While the location was clean and well-maintained, we did notice some aspects showing their age. However, the exceptional service and scrumptious food more than made up for it. We left with smiles on our faces and full hearts. It was a memorable night, thanks to this lovely restaurant.

Great place to have lunch! The special on mimosas was well worth the 5 bucks and the food was delicious. I had the English Muffin with smoked salmon, egg, gravy and capers. It was nice enjoying the cool summer breeze while enjoying our lunch. Thank you Mimi's Cafe

Wonderful service, wonderful meal. Imagine my disappointment and disgusted surprise when I entered their mens bathroom. Its just unkempt, disgusting, chunks of dried urine sitting at the lip of the urinal, the floor in front of both toilets covered in dried piss and pubic hair. One of their soap dispensers doesnt work, debris all over the sink. Just absolutely gross. I wish we had never come.

I just wish they would bring back the old menu. The menu The Brothers used when they first opened. Any anyone, remember that bow tie pasta and chicken. But, They did keep the onion soup recipe.

We showed up to Mimi s Cafe for breakfast. It looked really nice inside and the food looked decent on the website. When we showed up we were standing by the entrance for about 5 min and we never got greeted. A few servers walked by but nothing. The place looked dead so we decided to just go to Norms down the street. The he 1 star for food is only cuz it looked good on the website. star for atmosphere because it looked nice

I went to Mimis in Whittier May 2024 and had an excellent dining experience. Our server Lily was A+- she was super friendly and attentive, and came back multiple times to make sure we had what we needed. The food was also excellent- we had a holiday prefixe menu that included 3 courses and everything was delicious. I cant wait to go back and would highly recommend this location!

There were actually 6 of us who went to lunch here. Food & service were really good considering some other places were not. They even gave us 4 separate checks, which is another thing not too many restaurants do these days. And they let us linger a little longer and visit. Id go there again

$50 for two people. My eggs benedict with side of fruit was too small for even a toddler to eat. I had six bites in total, and it came with ONE strawberry and a tiny bit of pineapple. No toast or anything on the side. They were stingy with the napkins. When they finally gave us a napkin they gave us ONE. Were supposed to share it, I guess? They didnt even have salt and pepper for our table until we were almost done eating. Didnt refill our water glasses. The food wasnt bad at all but it was worth $15 not $50. Considering what you get for the price, I would recommend never to come here. Shame because Mimis was great 10 and 20 years ago.

I used to love Mimis. I stopped going for a while (years). Probably for the same reasons below. Decided to come back because my daughter chose Mimis over the other options. While I understand that prices have gone up for everything, why the smaller portions? The potatoes used to include the onions and bell peppers ($2.30 extra for onions and bell peppers for the included smaller portion of potatoes-really???). Im glad I didnt get the avocado, or I would be at $25 for my entree...Sorry Mimis...I will be going elsewhere for breakfast...

I used to love Mimi s but not anymore. I came to the Whittier restaurant and ordered salmon Benedict. The food was cold and the potatoes were not the rosemary baby potatoes they used to serve. Now they serve frozen hash browns and they were not freshly cooked. Decided to give Mimi s a second chance so I visited the Downey location. Same experience. To make matters worse, each meal was way overpriced at $30+. Did I forget to mention their restroom at both locations was filthy. Never going back!

I had never been to this Mimis restaurant in Whittier, Ca Ive been to another Mimis in Glendale,Ca Mimis in Whittier gave us the private room as we were a party of 40 coming from my sisters funeral services the staff was great the food was very good we would go back . Some of our guest food took a little longer but expected being a large party over all we all enjoyed being there 5 hours . The only reason why my husband and I ever come to the city of Whittier is to come to Mimis cafe. The service is excellent, the food is delicious it never disappoints us, and the Waiters are so sweet and welcoming. Prompt service . Teresa made it a lot more pleasant for us.

My wife and I moved into the area a few years ago and have been wanting to try this place. So we walked in tonight and there was no one at the host stand. So we waited and after approximately 3-5 minutes of waiting we see a server walk to a table. Once she was done she looks at us walks to the back and starts moving things around. Not one employee tried to great us, tell us that they would be right there, nothing, not 1 word. And it is not like they were busy there were only 2 or 3 table with guests seated. I was extremely upset at the lack of care from employees in the service industry. This was disappointing to say the least. We walked out and found something else. Dont think I will go back and try.

Lorena is an excellent server. Always friendly and welcoming. She makes the dining experience a pleasant one. The only complaint is the restroom. My sister used the ladies room and said it was very dirty. I remember the last time we visited, that was also the case.

Took my Fiance here for his Birthday Breakfast Today. Was greeted by the hostess which also was our waitress and seated immediately. We visited for breakfast. Waitress was attentive and food came sooner than later! Food was great and modifications were made per our request. Waitress checked-in on us multiple times! One negative observation Id like to share is the bathroom cleanliness. There was no seat covers in the handicapped stall, toilet and mirror were dirty, the floor was sticky and a pieces of paper stuck to my shoe. The odor was unpleasant. This may deter people from returning. We want Mimis to stay open. An interior refresh and more attention to cleanliness might be beneficial. Dietary restrictions: Perhaps a few healthier options can be added to your menu.

As soon as we walked into the restaurant, people already started complaining about food being cold, but it s whatever like I can deal with cold food depending on what it is. So I decided to get the chicken and waffles with some orange juice. While waiting for my food some baby started coughing really loud and gagging and it ruined my eating mood. The mom even held a bag for the baby like she was gonna throw up in it. But eventually they left when I got my food which I was so grateful for. As I got my food and took a bite out of the chicken it was okay, not the best or worst chicken I ve tried it s just too crunchy for me. The waffles were the best they were unbelievably good. I was in complete utter shock. As I bit into the waffle and the syrup made it into an unbelievable combination of taste. The texture of the waffle was soft and hot too hot or cold it was just right and it broke really easily and the syrup was really sweat even tho they only gave you a little bit and I love my syrup which was a bummer. Overall experience 3/5 stars.

There was this guy in the kitchen who was super loud. He was swearing like crazy throughout the meal. Loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear. It made me feel really uncomfortable. This was my boyfriends first time here and it will certainly be our last. They really need to do some quality control on who they hire. Also he was whistling super loud between the outbursts and swearing. I cant believe he wasnt told to stop by a manager! Kid-friendliness: If the person above is working there this place is definitely not kid friendly. Id stay away.

Food was delicious., I got some muffins and a loaf bread to go unfortunately when we ate those the following day they were super hard and dense they werent fluffy tasty you probably had to dip them in some coffee if you wanted to actually be able to choose them but the restaurant food was really good cant complain about that I just wouldnt get any the muffins to go

The service wasnt good. The place wasnt slow, but it wasnt crowded. We waited 10 minutes after receiving our water for someone to notice us so we could order. After ordering we waited an additional 15 minutes for our food. Meanwhile other tables, who came after us, had their food served to them. They ordered the same thing too. Nothing fancy, just medium-rare steak and eggs. When the food arrived, the eggs were watery and the steak was charred on the outside, flavorless on the inside. No one ever came by to check on us. We waited another 10 minutes with our plates at the end of the table for someone to pick them up and ask how things were. They grabbed them and didnt give us a chance to explain how things were. They dropped the check off and hurried to another table. This Mimis left such a sour taste in our mouths. The potatoes were pretty good and had lots of flavor, so theres that at least.

The service was bad. My dinner came way after the other two dinners and looked like it was just throw on the plate. Probably wont go to the Whittier MIMIS again. Parking: Good

I returned to Mimis after a few a year or so my aunt used to take me and we ate breakfast every Sunday only miss after heard the parcher I never went back again but today I went with a beautiful lady we enjoyed and she was happy it has good memories for me Mimis coffee

The food was flavorful, seasoned perfectly and cooked to perfection. The fixed menu made ordering easy and removed any complication for the guests. We were celebrating a retirement and had the back room which, offered us privacy. Our server did a great job handling over 25+ guests by herself. However, the manager did help out and assist her we needed as any good manager would. I Would definitely recommend this spot to family and friends should they want to hold an event here.

Had a wonderful experience with the parents here celebrating their 45th Anniversary! This place always has a cozy feeling to it and the food is spot on. We had Yammy the waitress, she did an outstanding job, she was kind and professional. Thank you for making my parents anniversary a memorable one. Here are the plates we ordered.

This is by far the best Mimis Cafe Ive ever been to. Its cozy and the décor is excellent. I felt very comfortable, and felt like I was at an upscale restaurant. The service was on point and very attentive. The food was excellent, with decent prices. Even the parking was convenient. A Top rated Mimis experience for sure. I will be going back there the next time Im in town. Parking: Close Parking, nice looking building.

I took my sister and my mom for dinner. It was our first time there. My mom and I ordered the turkey plate with stuffing and veggies. The food had no flavor at all. It tasted like hospital food. My sister liked her burger though, maybe it was just that plate. I didnt like it. The dessert was good.

Miss the muffin they used to hand out in the morning, but I guess they don t do that anymore. Friendly service but was told they are always late opening the door in the morning (we were at the door but waited a few mins with other guests), food was good.

We had a very pleasant experience at this Mimis. We were sat very quickly for a Saturday morning by the manager Jose. He was very courteous and nice. The wait staff was friendly and fast. Jose stopped by a few times and made sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious and did not disappoint. Everything came out as ordered and without issue. The only thing we didnt know is that you have to request the bread basket as it is not just brought to the table any longer. It is still free.We would come back to this restaurant just for Joses customer service and attentiveness to his patrons.

Flew in from Florida at 9 am and famiky took me for breakfast. Amazingky delicious food, great service! I had mentioned to Lorraina (I think i have her name wrong but similar), that I was over due for coffee and to keep it coming. Hit the spot and I told her so. Imagine my surprise when she brought me a box of 4 of their muffins and said, this is for tomorrow with your coffee, enjoy your time with family! We did sit and enjoy and even my 1 year old grand enjoyed the muffins. DELICIOUS! Talk about a very personal welcome in such a large city. Thank you to our server for the amazing welcome, and thank you to the city of LA for making sure people like her are here to show visitors that size does not matter and your visit to our city has not gone unnoticed. Thank you again!
