The food was amazing. We had a canzone, meatball sandwich, and ice tea. The food was fresh and hot and the taste was fantastic. This place is amazingly clean and that staff was superb. This was a table service experience, which I prefer to counter ordering. 100% recommend.

I really wanted to like this place. Especially after seeing a video of their pasta being cooked inside a cheese bowl on TikTok. However, the food was a disappointment. Not tasty at all! It could have been what I ordered... but for an Italian place they getting the pasta right is a MUST! The desert was good. The service was OK, I tipped the waiter 18% and not the 25% that was pre selected since that was really high! It was only a party of 2 lol.

Had a nice birthday lunch for my mother-in-law. The meatballs appetizer was delicious as was the bruschetta. We recommend ordering the garlic bread as its delicious with the bruschetta. Lasagna, Italian sub, when in Rome pizza were all great and plenty to bring home.

Food is ok. 1970 on Whittier Blvd is a neat new eatery but a little too casual for me but what keeps me from going back is the prices. Way overpriced IMHO. $26 for a single lasagna entree and a cold hard piece of bread. $11 for a sliver of cheesecake. Cmon its good food but $45-$60 a pop for dinner sotryits just not that good!

Celebrating Mothers Day early this was the best place to take my momma. Service was excellent. The suggestions on food and beverage were on point. The restaurant and furnishings are beautiful and spotless. The staff was friendly and courteous. We never had to ask for anything. The best part was how attentive to detail they all were and how quickly they attended to my elderly parents. Id go back over and over again. Food was superb

Had an amazing time!!! Excellent customer service! From the hostesses to our waitress! ( I wish I remembered our waitress name) It was my fathers 80th birthday!! Lasagna was BOMB!!!!!! Everything is fresh! When she put the lasagna in front of me, I knew it was going to be excellent!!! If I could only put smellavision in this review!!!! Thank you, Lacaris!! We loved the original Lascaris but are happy to patron the new re-brand! We walked in and front the jump start we were greeted, were explained of the rebrand and the division of the restaurant and chose the bar seating area. The wait staff was attentive as was the bar tender whom served us! they had great table side manner. Both our dishes as well as our sides were great. I am an incredibly picky eater and vegetarian , and my husband the opposite and both were pleased with our plates and sides. A great date night spot without having to venture too far from home. We will be returning.

My wife and I were both working on Valentines Day, so we planned a dinner date on Friday instead! I reserved us for 5pm and it was not busy inside at all which was nice. Our waiters name was Brandy, and she was such a delight! She talked to us as if she had known us for years! We dont drink alcohol but brandy recommended options for mocktails, which were amazing. I remember one being melon flavored, and I recommend that one. We ordered some fried mozzarella, and I will say that I am never getting any other mozzarella sticks again lol My wife got the Fettuccine Alfredo, and I ordered the Spaghetti with Wagyu Meatballs. My wife said, this is how Italian is supposed to taste like. For dessert we ordered some cheesecake, which was delicious and light. I give this restaurant a 10/10, I would definitely go back for special occasions and to just treat my wife. Keep in mind, entree plates will cost you around $20 and up. I wouldnt say this is a casual place to eat out at, but I recommend trying it and making that decision yourself. Who knows, maybe youll really like it and come back every week! Hahaha

The renovation must have been done by new owners.The main entrance door is much too heavy that it s hard to pull it open. As you walk in, it looks like a school cafeteria . The food is nothing like its predecessor. They no longer have a delivery service. Both meals that were purchased looked completely different than they should, same as the taste.

Our family had a large reception planned at another local venue that was unfortunately canceled due to flooding from all of the rain that the area was receiving. Thanks to the quick thinking of some family members and the open hospitality of Lascaris, we were able to reserve a portion of the restaurant for part of our reception. This is almost unheard of and I wouldnt expect them to be able to do it every time, but we really lucked out. Upon arrival everything was already set for us and various foods were coming out immediately. The service was not only fast, but the food was delicious. If I lived here locally, Id definitely make this a regular spot for myself and my family. Much of the rest of the family has dined at Lascaris for years and now I know why. The accommodating nature of the staff deserves special mention. Despite the impromptu reservation the team at Lascaris went above and beyond to ensure we had a seamless and enjoyable experience. Thank you!

This new Lascaris is SO MUCH MORE. Simply put, the food is delicious. The rigatoni is amazing, and the minestrone hit the spot. The caprese salad with fig dressing so delicious. The decor is elegant. Enjoy this amazing restaurant but please dont go in expecting the old Lascaris as this new menu is so much more. They took it from the typical boring caferteria Italian fare to an amazing selection of amazing food. Support them and their willingness to elevate Italian food. Bravo.

This has quickly become my favorite date-night restaurant. Today was our third time and was the best yet. I have had steaks from southern California s finest steakhouses and tonight s filet mignon was the best ever! And the service is unprecedented. The staff know the menu well and are attentive but not intrusive. Lascari s Italian is an absolutely delightful treat for this food lover. I ll be back again soon and will try something new. I came here for the first time with no expectations as it was my first time at any of the Lascaris locations. The experience was wonderful! I feel like theres finally an upscale Italian restaurant in whittier. Service was very good and the waitress paid attention to detail. The wine selection is excellent - Cabernet Sauvignon is my favorite. The food was delicious and I was impressed with everything. We had calamari and a basic salad to start. Both were very tasty. I would recommend they provide more choices on the salad dressing. Our main entree was 1970 lasagna which was probably the best restaurant lasagna Ive had. We also shared a cheese pizza which had plenty of cheese and the crust had herb flavor but overall very good. If you are local to this place I highly recommend it in good taste.

In this case, new is not better! They have taken a uniquely authentic Italian legacy and ripped it to shreds. What used to be a superb family restaurant with excellent food, dining and atmosphere is now an unappealing, uninviting, pretentious, hallow-feeling place. From the moment I walked into the revised, albeit upscale, building I was met with snobby staff and equally unfriendly management who are cold and impersonal. The new menu promises some of our old dishes but falls short of delivering authentic, flavorful, traditional Italian cuisine. This faithful customer of 25+ years and an extended family of followers will not be returning! The La Habra location food comes closest to the old menu and legacy but I sincerely miss the excellent service that the main Whittier Blvd location used to provide. I patroned the original Lascaris in the 80-90 s but will not return to the 19 Seventy location ever again! I am sorry to see yet another great restaurant go away. Kid-friendliness: I was single when I became a Lascaris customer and am now a grandma. I walked my multi generational family of 4 with 2 grandsons and the staff treated us with distain as if we were not welcome. I saw staff giving each other looks when my grandsons asked for things and they addressed the adults slightly better than my boys. I will spend my dollars at the Cheesecake Factory for better service.

I use to be a frequent visitor for Lascari s but it is not the same. Portions for the price are way too small, there is no bread unless you ask. The tables are too close and too open to the next customer- too loud, can t carry a conversation unless the next table can join. Food

Disappointed in the makeover: glaring lights, loud music and TVs--hard to hear the person right next to you. Too-tall stools and too-low chairs, everything gray. And our four go-to menu items--linguini with clam sauce, chicken Marsala, the chicken salad with cashews and fruit, even the Belly Buster pizza-- no longer available.

This restaurant probably caters more towards seniors. The pizza is good though. Edit: Nov 11, 2023: Came back 2 years later after the revamping of the restaurant. I loved it! The vibes, the decor, the FOOD! I got the spaghetti and wagyu meatballs. I immediately noticed a difference, especially with the fresh pasta made in house daily. The meatballs with my spaghetti were probably the best restaurant meatballs Ive had. My parents had the lasagna and loved their dinners as well. Last, we shared the tiramisu, which was also made today. Delicious - creamy and decadent. So, Lascaris, great job on the revamp and I eagerly look forward to coming back to try even more delicious food. Its so awesome having been a local who did genuinely like Lascaris before and now loving it anew!

Please bring back the old menu. The old menu had more selection. I was sort of disappointed when the waitress told me they do not have chicken Parmesan. And the new place looks amazing but again, they need to bring back the old menu. I really missed the seafood plate with the white wine sauce. That plate is also no longer on the menu. Bummer.

Ive read the past reviews for the new 1970 update to Lascaris..Its very clear to me that these reviews are from internal associates or friends.. This upgrade is totally bougie..I cant make it more clear Its like dining in a mausoleum with weak attempts to cobble different foods at crazy prices under the guise of modernization. The bar area is interesting but not comfortable.. The bar is the attraction to gain revenue. Another weak attempt at modernization. Our server was named Cesar.. He was very informative and attentive.. I cant understand why this place is called Italian.. I believe the remaining two Lascaris locations will wave the historical flag for Italian theme cuisine...I will never return and continue to inform everyone I come across that this establishment is a waste of time..It makes me wonder what happened to the former employees and familiar faces that created the wonderful service and atmosphere before this failed attempt at modernization

Could not be happier with this update to Lascari s! The drinks are creative (although all on the sweet side; I have a massive sweet tooth, so I was a big fan, but it s something to note). I tried the Bellini and the Black Pearl, and my husband tried the Espresso Martini and Daddy s Little Secret (which comes in a smoke-filled cloche, a nice flair). All great. For dinner, we shared the Caprese salad and the short rib pappardelle, which serves 2 and is prepared tableside in a giant Parmesan wheel! That was the highlight of our meal. Portion sizes are just right, not huge and not too small, and everything tasted delicious. For dessert, we shared the tiramisu, also delicious. We will absolutely be coming back!

We were long time customers that ate at the old Lascaris often. We recently came after the remodel and were very disappointed with the food and design. The tables are too high for the low seating chairs. The menu has changed and is a lot more expensive than it used to be, and they charge you for every little thing extra. None of the old staff is there anymore. We will not be coming back.

First time at at Vittorias. We ordered the spaghetti with meatballs and the pepperoni pizza. I have to say the portions were huge! Spaghetti was delicious but the meatballs lacked a bit in flavor. The pizza was good have to give it an 8 out of 10 only because the pepperoni were mild in flavor but the crust, sauce and cheese were great! Service was good and the prices were fair. We are definitely coming back.

Pretty inside. Service was good. Food was ok. But very expensive. My mom and I spent $70 for two bowls of spaghetti and two sodas. No bread or soup or salad (unless I wanted to pay for it) They also bring dishes to the table when ready instead of at one time. So my mom got her spaghetti and felt bad eating while I waited so hers just got cold. Miss the old Lascaris. Probably wouldnt go back.

We visited last Sunday during their soft opening. The service was great and the food was delicious! We had the fried calamari appetizer, the wagyu burger, and the alfredo with chicken. The burger was cooked beautifully and tasted amazing, and the fries were addictive. The alfredo was a tad undersalted but was still delicious. Overall, it was a great meal.

Came here because it used to be my mom s favorite restaurant. They totally revamped the place the menu was different. They sat us in this new area, which was kind of outside, and there was a cockroach on the floor, and the waiter stomped it out in front of us. Disgusting never will come back again.spent like 500 dollars for bugs do not recommend want the old restaurant back whoever changed it up big mistake.

Our recent visit to Lascaris restaurant left us quite disappointed. We were hoping for the classic Italian menu we used to love, but instead, we found a limited selection. The absence of complimentary bread and butter for our large group was surprising, and our waitresss unfriendly demeanor didnt help improve our experience. The only highlight was the beer, which was enjoyable. The menu changes and lackluster service left us unsatisfied. Modern design didn t match the atmosphere there. I won t come back :(

Brought our daughter here for birthday dinner. We were not disappointed! Friendly wait staff, daughter ordered ravioli with asparagus tips and sun dried tomatoes, husband ordered chicken Parmesan, and I ordered the penne pasta with vodka sauce, all dishes were delicious! Food is good. I would say better then just ok. Kinda of pricey. But, the reason I am give it a 2 star is because of their customer service and said pick up order times. I go there a lot because my father lives in the nursing home behind Lascaris on Whitter Blvd. I order online and get there usual between the said time of pick up. They had me waiting 30 minutes past said pick up time, waiting for my meal. It seemed as my online order was pointless. They had over a 1 hour and 15 minute to make my one order of lasagna. It was pass the lunch rush and not busy inside the restaurant at all. The girls up front seemed to be clueless and like I was speaking another language when I said what was the point of ordering online. Very disappointing. Parking: Parking is limited. Maybe because of the construction going on.

Great food and service, has been in whittier for years.Never disappointed.Had the chicken and asparagus, it was great. Parking: Parking in front and around back Kid-friendliness: Kids portions and high chairs. Wheelchair accessibility: Big front door to enter,but will need help.

The food here was good, the service was great, especially since we strange a large party on them at the last minute. However, it was so very hot in the restaurant it made for an unpleasant dining experience.

Lascaris has great Italian food I got there Seafood variety it had fresh scallops shrimp muscles clams a variety of great shellfish over linguine with a white wine sauce excellent

Parking: It was around 7:45 & we got parking towards the back but it was fairly close to the entrance. The service was excellent but the food was okay. The Calamari was ok & the chicken parm was ok. It was better the last time I dined in. The waitress was very attentive & the one who brought us the food & drinks was awesome. He got our refills of water & soda right away.

I use to go there all the time for takeout . The chicken Romano has always been my favorite dish but the chicken they use now has a real bad texture and taste .

I love this place! Plus if you wanna mix up the pasta or add an item to the dish, no problem! Employees are happy, and just love to help you. Bathrooms and restaurant are super clean. Remember to check daily specials. I really like the stuffed chicken.

Parking: They only have 2 handicapped parking. Alot of the patrons are older so they need at least five in front. The rest of parking is out back. Mom had a hard time walking. They are doing construction and I noticed that the trucks parked in front spots were workers.

I love this little Italian restaurant they got great food at good prices. they have some afternoon specials at the bottom of the menu that are smaller portions but at a good price that include a salad and a drink. also try the pastrami sandwich on rye bread its very good.

Magnifico First time at this place and it was just delicious and well served. The pastas were boooooomb. Very authentic and I definitely recommend this place for whoever loves Italian food.

Extremely slow service and false advertising. Ordered an Early Bird special to go, (my husband just finished chemo and cant be out in public and we are on a fixed income so $5.25 delivery is high) includes soup or salad, a choice of about 6 entrees and drink for reasonable price, HOWEVER, it is not stated that the drink TO GO has a CUP COST (FOR A STYROFOAM CUP) of $2.79 and is NOT INCLUDED as part of the Early Bird special nor does it say DINE IN ONLY HOWEVER, IF YOU ORDER IT TO BE DELIVERED ($5.25) ITS INCLUDED. WHATS THE DIFFERENCE IF I WALKED OR CALLED IN AND ORDERED IT TO GO AND PICKED IT UP MYSELF, AS OPPOSED TO BEING DELIVERED OR DINED IN???? For this reason and extremely slow service, WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. Parking: Parking sucks

Fantastic food! Packaged great when delivered so nothing spilled. Had great clam linguine, and parents had Baked Ziti and said delicious!! Greek salad wonderful and garlic bread tasty.

For me this is the best italian restaurant in town!! I recommend this place 100%. I love their lasagna. Get a good amount of delicious food per serving.
