De Luca's Restaurant in Whittier, CA, is a local gem that has long been on my bucket list. Supporting local restaurants like this one is essential, especially when big chains like Olive Garden, though consistent, can't match the charm and authenticity of places like De Luca's.

Upon arrival, the restaurant exudes a cute, charming, and clean atmosphere, making it immediately welcoming. The staff during my visit were incredibly attentive and friendly, adding to the positive experience.

The food at De Luca's is top-notch, bursting with flavors and embodying traditional Italian cuisine. The garlic puffs were a delightful start, packed with flavor. Both the lasagna and spaghetti were perfectly executed, delivering the comfort and taste of true Italian dishes. The beer selection was good, and the wine list complements the menu well. Additionally, the salad was fresh, and the dressing was spot-on.

While I enjoyed everything I tried, the pizza caught my eye and looked delicious, giving me a reason to return. Whether you're in the area or up for a small road trip to experience some fantastic flavors, De Luca's is a great choice for a memorable meal.

I am highly upset with the service last night. Not the waitress, or cooking staff,They started mopping with bleach as we sat there eating our dinner. Manager didn't seem to care. Please do visit this place.The food is amazing .beware of the mopping

First time diner at this restaurant. I liked their antipasto salad, calamari appetizer and their NY Style pizza was also very good. Nice friendly neighborhood warm feeling. The service was exceptional. 👍🏼
They also have an extra room in the back for special events. The decor was nice and their big etched window that looks into the kitchen was a nice touch.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was that they charge extra for sharing a meal. 😕
As my wife and I are aging, we don't eat as much and we can't finish a whole meal by ourselves. We like sharing a main course then it allows us to get an appetizer or a salad or soup to share. I feel that it should be our choice of how much to eat. I don't like that the restaurant makes that choice for us or we get penalized by an additional fee, no matter how much the fee may be.
In addition, we travel a lot so it is real inconvenient for us to have leftovers sometimes. Luckily, we met up with friends and were able to taste many things tonight. We still had a ton of leftovers. Our friends were more than happy to take it home to their daughters ☺️

A fine dining experience with quick service. Only took a minute for them to seat us with a well-rounded variety on the menu.

After we were seated for 5 minutes, our water was served as they took our orders. I was very happy with how they listened to my grandmothers request for vegan options, and they were more than happy to accommodate.

While waiting for the main course, they served bread rolls, something I personally like, and my grandfather got his garden salad with my grandmother getting lentil soup, which I do like, but chose not to get this time.

When they served us, we were more than delighted to see large bowls of whole wheat pasta with mariana and vegetables; angelhair with marinara and italian sausage, and my huge chicken-pesto calzone, which I cut so you could see the inside. Side note: the chicken pesto has a lot of Olive Oil.

Once we we're done eating, they gave us togo boxes for what we couldn't finish, and served my grandparents spumoni; Aka Italian Icecream.

Overall, it was a comforting experience that I would enjoy coming back to.

I always read and leave reviews for restaurants. It’s helpful to the consumer, and helpful to the corporation. That being said, I don’t like leaving sub-par reviews but for the sake of honesty, I think it’s helpful.

We tried De Luca’s tonight for the first time. We LOVE Italian food and have been to the other Italian restaurants in Whittier.

De Luca’s is unfortunately not one that I think is worth coming back to. The food overall was below average and seemed low quality. We stopped eating part way through our meal, not because we were satisfied but because it was so rich and overly cheesy it started to upset our stomachs. In fact, on the way home we hit up the Chick Fil A drive through just to get some protein and feel satisfied.

The two of us spent about $59 after tip and tax on just two entrees, no drinks or appetizers.

For that money, you can get fresh hmemade pasta with much higher quality ingredients at a few other Italian restaurants here in Whittier that I’ve given a 5/5 rating. To me, De Luca’s was a notch below Olive Garden.

My husband and I loved this restaurant. The food was delicious and the staff was nice, helpful and gave us wonderful recommendations. The chicken Alfredo was amazing! I can't wait to go back.

Everything about this place was amazing. Me and my family came here on a whim after everywhere else was busy. We last came here years ago and decided we can stop by and try this place since it's not crowded. We immediately got sat down we and were greeted by our lovely waitress. The wait for our food did not take long and everything tastes FANTASTIC. the portions are excellent for what you pay. And the quality and taste was just immaculate. Will definitely be coming back here. The staff was very attentive to us and made sure everything was correct with our orders and made sure we were happy with our food. 10/10.

We have been having the food from this restaurant delivered through DoorDash for quite some time. My entire family enjoys the food from here. We will be coming to see the restaurant in person soon. We just love it.

Food tasted bad the pasta tasted like it was cooked in old or dirty pasta water which made the pasta taste so bad.. the marinara sauce had no seasoning what so ever.. came with a party of 7 and mostly everyone wasn t pleased with the taste service was great tho!

We ve been coming here for years and they haven t disappointed us. This place is a hidden gem and their food is really delicious. My favorites are their spaghetti with meatballs and chicken fettuccini alfredo( the best I ever tasted). The ambiance is very nice and service is excellent. I highly recommend them. Authentic Italian food!!!

A small family owned Italian restaurant that serves great food. Our waitress was also great, very attentive and friendly. If your in Whittier, this should be one of your go to restaurants. If your in the area, stop on by, you wont be disappointed.

Whats the point of reservations if they serve us 30 minutes past the reservation time? We got here 15 minutes ahead yet they took us in 30 minutes later. Do not come here. They litterally take there reservations off a notepad.

Food average. Only one server at lunch, we arrived when they opened @ 11 so coffee wasnt ready. Server was as attentive as he could be? Seemed a bit overwhelmed (understandable as it was just him). There were six of us. Soup was a big hit. And chicken dish. Eggplants Parm was good enough. Cant say Id recommend or return. my cousin gets catering - sized pastas for her parties.

Tuesday night is Frank Sinatra night with live entertainment. Great entertainment and spectacular food. I have eaten here a few more times more often now. The staff works so hard and the food is constantly excellent.

We came in to town on business, and after driving around finding out that most Italian restaurants are closed on Mondays, we were pleasantly surprised to see that DeLucas was open. So glad we came here. Were originally from the area and noticed that you had relocated. Nice environment and great service. We started with some calamari for starters, awesome bread, and I had a half liter of your white Zinfandel. The salads came out and they were so crisp. My wife ordered the Manicotti with meat sauce; my sister had the Penne pasta Ala Diabla, and I had the Pasta with shrimp with the spicy Diablo sauce. Wow. The portions were...huge. Food...Mmmmm, very tasty. Had to take lots of leftovers. I will definitely be coming back again. So, if you want awesome food and service, give DeLucas a try. Youll be pleasantly surprised. Next time, I will definitely try something different from the huge menu.

Our family has had De Lucas cater many parties for us until July 1st. Had trouble being on time to pick up our food, when I walked into the restaurant I was scolded over and over and told that I had been called six times and that the food is cold now, by the owner. I was charged $66 for a half a tray of garlic strips which is bread with garlic on it needless to say after being treated like a felon and the exorbitant prices we will never use DeLucas for catering or a restaurant for dinner or lunch ever again.

Restaurante is good overall. Pizza was good there and then. Nothin special, just pizza. Would say more about the pizza but to me it was just another pizza. The pasta dish my lady had though was good. Very good. I actually switch to eat some with her and left the pizza behind cuz it was just a pizza. Atmosphere is alright. Just a another ordinary place. We had a male waiter, service was good, just felt like he was in a rush when there was almost anyone at the time. I would probably come here maybe one more time. But not to add to my monthly visits. I did like that everything looked fresh as far as ingredients. The garlic bread you see on photos is their garlic poppers (which dont bother ordering, you get bread either way, and they need better seasoning, and the bottom plate is just soaked in oil. Anyways my lady liked it so i will bring her one more time. Parking: Weird parking lot as its connected on the left side of it with another business Wheelchair accessibility: Very tight inside, Im sure u get by barely. But tight.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night. Dining room was very spacious and upscale for an Italian restaurant. Service was good except we had to wait a few minutes for someone to greet us and bring us to a table. We ordered the linguine with Clams and the cioppino. The portions are large here. The linguine with clams had lots of fresh and Chopped clams but was lacking flavor as the only thing we tasted was garlic. The cioppino comes with shrimp, clams, squid, mussels, and Scallops. Its also served with a side of pasta. The shrimp, mussels, and squid were all overcooked and rubbery in texture. The scallops were cooked perfectly and the cioppino sauce was yummy with a spicy kick. Im hoping they just had an off night but will come back to try one more time.

This place and Lascaris have been about 200 yards apart for as long as I can remember. Given the fact Lascaris has multiple locations and De Lucas does not (to my knowledge) gives you an idea of how good their food is. I definitely prefer the latter to the former. Fun fact, I went to high school with the owners daughter almost 30 years ago. Beautiful, beautiful girl....

Hosted my grandson s baptism luncheon in the banquet room of DeLuca s Restaurant. This was for a party of about 30. The restaurant is clean and the tables were set with white linen. I chose three dishes from the menu. I chose a steak dish, chicken dish, and pasta dish. Salads, bread, and bruschetta was served before our meals. It was a no host bar. I brought a group of first timers. Everyone really enjoyed their meals and the location. Their servers were friendly and welcoming. The manager is very easy to work with. I gave him my guest count and meal choices a few days before. If you are looking for a place to host a small event, DeLuca s is your place!

The waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly, if you dont know what to order follow her suggestions. The music was excellent, and the volume was perfect . The pasta was okay, like Olive Garden quality, but the bread was warm and delicious! Overall I liked it, but I wouldn t come here unless someone else took me.

Can t say enough about this local gem with a following of faithful foodies. Try everything you won t go wrong. Bread basket is fabulous. The pizza Florentine is the absolute must have. Staff is great friendly and know how to make you feel welcomed and part of family.

We went out to eat to this restaurant recently. We had a great time. It feels like an intimate place to eat and there was a live performer singing Sinatra. The atmosphere was really electric. Love it. The service could be more attentive but it seems like they may have been missing some staff. The owner came out and greeted us and made sure we were having a good time. I would definitely go there again.

Great food and service. Some of the best eggplant parmigiano Ive ever had. And Tuesday nights 6-9 pm they have Frank Sinatra reincarnate, Douglas Roegiers, singing live--and no cover charge. He really packs them in, so get there early if you want a seat near the stage. The night we were there, when he sang Dean Martins That s Amore, the crowd sang and danced along, waving their napkins. It was a hoot!

Pass or Fail by Kat. A Restaurant or Customer Service Experience. I was invited to dinner with 8 adult family members. We ordered appetizers of zucchini, spicy shrimp, calamari, and garlic bread, and all were delicious. All varieties of the entrees were also very tasty. The food prep-time was as expected and not long. The atmosphere was pleasant and more uptown even though some people were very casually dressed. The owner made a stop and that is always good to see. The most notable parts of the dining experience was the fantastic waitress who had very good food service manners. And, that my brother picked up the tab. Especially noted was that she, the waitress, knew what everyone ordered, and didn t ask, Who has the ? This is the sign of a true waitress professional. The overall restaurant experience from start to finish was an excellent one. Pass or Fail? PASS with flying colors! Note: Although not part of the dining experience, I noticed the outside grounds nearest the street need upkeep. First impressions are important; it s your calling card.

De Luca s Italian Restaurant is the bomb!! Always scrumptious dishes, relaxing atmosphere, and kind, attentive service! Their Lasagna is delicioso! And so many other good dishes. My latest was a half Italian sandwich, very tasty and that half filled my plate! I ll have to make on a Tuesday eve, with live entertainment (Frank Sinatra-like gentleman singer) one of these Tuesdays

Every meal I have had from De Lucas has been excellent. I am a huge fan of the meatball and also the sausage and peppers sandwiches. The meatballs are some of the best flavored Ive ever had. The marinara and meat sauces are both excellent. The calzones and pizzas are without question the best in the area. I have worked in the kitchen of 2 successful Italian restaurants. That experience in addition to being originally from New York has made me very selective (picky and a little elitest) when it comes to Italian food. De Lucas is the first Italian restaurant Ive been to that has consistently provided experiences that live up to my lofty standards. One word of caution. I dont know if its Tuesday or Wednesday and I dont know if its all year but one of those nights they have a live singer in the dining room. If you are looking for a quiet mellow dining experience you should definitely avoid the nights he is there. If youre in the mood for that he seems pretty good and clearly has a following that show up for him. If you tell them Jeremy recommended the place to you they will look at you confused wondering who the heck is Jeremy. In addition they will give you nothing for free.

I have been a happy customer for many many years. My recent visit was disappointing. The service was not up to what it was. The waitress was pleasant but delivered the main course while i was still enjoying my soup. In my books that is not worthy of 5 stars.

What a wonderful dining retreat! This is the way fine dining used to be, and thankfully, still is here -- linen tablecloth and napkins, commemorative music, lots of ambiance, even a golden fork reward. And lets not forget the great food! Our server Lillie was very knowledgeable about the menu and even the history of the restaurant. The servings were very generous; be prepared to share the cheesecake! When youre ready to just sit back, savor your meal and sway to the standards, this is the place!

I was expecting a bit more from a New York style traditional Italian restaurant. The marinara sauce was missing the flavor, a bit dull. The pasta was over cooked; not al dente and it wasn t hot when brought out. The pizza was just ok. Overall I think the foods are lacking in flavor depth.

We had our family gathering after my mother in laws funeral here at De Lucas. There was about 30 if us. We had reservations. Our waiter was wonderful! He was quick, professional, and he got all the orders right the first time, kepted our drinks filled , was attentive. Just a great experience! If I had to complain about any one thing, the spaghetti wasnt all that great. But everything else was delicious! I didnt get our waiters name but we were there on May 4th around 5pm. Great job!

The service was horrible. Took almost 15 minutes to get my order drinks & another 15-20 minutes to take my food order. We were never checked up on during our meals for refills etc. No communication at all. Compliments to the chef food was delicious. Kudos to the hostess & chefs. Never going back there.

I hired DeLucas for a Memorial Reception at my home for 40 people. With an event like this, the food is the main event. DeLucas was so accomodating the moment I walked into the restaurant to inquire, unlike other restaurants I visited. The food didnot disappoint either - the lasagna, the ravioli, the caprese, cranberry walnut salad, and the garlic bread - I just cant say enough as to how much our guests enjoyed it! Very disappointed. Many reviews state that the food is good, but it really wasnt. Pasta felt and tasted like it had thick coating of some sort of vegetable oil; none of the sauces sticked to it. The over quality of the ingredients tasted straight out of cheap canned goods. The service was great and the staff was nice, but I really expected authentic itialian food.

First time here an always pick up food for other people, I thought would try this out with my friend. We got the Roasted pork loin,Cheese tortellini,minestrone soup,salad,beer,cake slice everything was good. I would give it 5 stars but it was so hot in there no a/c on it was 6pm when we went i didnt ask them why its so hot. Other then that service was great no problems.
