A great little place for breakfast and lunch. Staff is super friendly, food is always good and hot. They take care of you quickly and seem to really care. There's nothing that we've tried that we haven't loved. Is today it's meatloaf and a polish sandwich lunch specials. We've always enjoyed the food and service.

This is a great little local spot! 9 booths, two tables inside, and 5 tables outside if you prefer.

The decor is classic diner with lots of movie stars and classic movie posters. There are lots of specials on the board, too.

I went with Ivan's suggestion of their chiliquiles with salsa Verde pork, and it was delicious. It does have a little kick, so beware if you can not handle spicey food. All the flavors came together, so we'll that I was scraping my plate!

The service was excellent. Everyone I encountered was friendly and attentive. Didn't have to ask for a coffee refill as it was brought right when I needed it.

If you have not been here and you are looking for a great local place, I highly reccommend coming here.

This place is the most humble restaurant in Whittier, Period! The Above and Beyond type of service you receive at this spot is unforgettable! With the servers making you feel like family, the amazing Kitchen preparing love in the form of home-style cooking, it's extremely difficult to NOT stop by when in town.

This place was great! The service was a little slow but it was a Sunday morning. My family was a little reluctant because it looks a little rough but it was great and the food was delicious. We were very surprised. Would come again and highly recommend.

Menudo Sunday took a twist. Our normal go to place is closed until March. Wifey and I decided to give Jennys country kitchen a try. Place is conveniently located near our daughters home in SFS. The parking is a bit tricky as there are spaces in front, in the back, and along the side street. Place was super busy. Plenty of staff to greet, seat and get your order taken. We looked at the menu and there are a lot of good home style dishes and Mexican favorites. The menudo we had was not bad. Dish had plenty of meat. Minimal on the maíz (hominy). I like a fairly good amount in mine. The broth seemed a little on the thickened side, something I am not used to. Wifey and I liked our menudo and we will be back to try other dishes but not make a destination for menudo. The place is small so you may need a short wait.

Delicious, nutritious and flavorful food, one of my favorite places to eat breakfast . American, mexican dishes with many different healthy options. Good coffee, great service and welcoming people. I recommend their spinach, avocado and bacon omelette.

Kid-friendliness: Flavorful, fresh, food quality was great. Everything we ate was exquisitely delicious! The place is very small and they have big tables but you feel cramped, you cant stretch your legs, the bathroom is outside you have to cross the kitchen, the service is very good, the boy who served us was very attentive and helpful, which in no way bothers me. The food was delicious, the chicken soup I ordered was flavourless, without vegetables, the chicken was horrible, the hard chicken was horrible, the biscuits tasted raw, I left the dish, I only tried it twice, the soda I ordered without gas, I had been wanting to try it for a long time, I regretted it. lets see hido

I can always say Jennys is the to go place for homecookn its the best. Why 4 stars because its so small sometimes its a wait(a long wait) but worth it., parking is hard it get. Price us, right. My favorite ( Chile relleno omlet) so so good but then everything is delicious at Jennys. Happy eating.

Firstly, I want to say that the staff and customers were wonderful, and the atmosphere was fun and friendly. However, the food is not the best. Its edible, but it lacks flavor and has a weird texture. I ordered the French toast, and honestly, I thought they used stale bread for it. It was eggy and rubbery, and seemed like they cooked the bread with just an egg. Considering myself a French toast lover, having tried many, this was not the best. The price was not bad, but I honestly didnt enjoy it. Next, I tried the menudo, as a friend recommended it, but it had no flavor and was not worth it (I would not recommend it). Their hashbrowns were also bland and tasted like boiled potatoes. Even the toasted bread I got on the side was low quality; I would say Bimbo toast would be better. Their fried chicken is overly fried; the chicken inside was not bad, but overall, its just average. On the positive side, the sauce they served was delicious, and thats all I can say about this place. Also, the horchata was enjoyable, although it tasted like the powdered stuff. Their waffles were pretty good, but not exceptional. I wanted to like this place because it was local and had good reviews, but I feel like they have room for improvement. There is a lot on the menu, so I can only speak on the four dishes Ive tried. It could be that I got a bad batch of food, but if this is considered the norm, I would not recommend this place.

The services was excellent atmosphere was also very nice. I had the chicken and waffles, my food took long to get to my table. The chicken was juicy, but I feel that it was over fried. The waffle was good everything mixed in well. The cost for portion though was good aswell. I got a really big portion and didnt manage to finish my plate. Ill give it a 7/10 because I feel the chicken couldve been better. Parking: Parking was good, a little sketchy because it was really close to the street.

Jennys has been a special breakfast place for many, for many years. I was so thrilled to have a morning time that I was able to drop in for biscuits & gravy. My #3 son ordered a Mexican breakfast which he ate everything. Jennys is the hometown type of place for breakfast or lunch, dinner isnt served. Its cozy, the servers are always friendly, you never know what old friend you might run into. Its a place where memories have been made and old friends remembered. Im glad that Jennys is still here.

The staff is excellent. Very much recommended if you are in the area. My groomer is located at Petco in Whittier and I travel from the Torrance area so I find things to do while I wait. My husband and I found this restaurant while searching for new places to try and it did not disappoint. Have been there twice and plan on returning.

Limited parking on the rear lot. The place is small so there could be a wait. The potato s are to skip. the over easy eggs are more like medium. The dishes over all are bland. Coffee is warm but they come around often to refill. Staff is friendly and it s a locals place to eat. Would not visit again as friendly staff is not enough to bring me back. It s a skip if your in the area or first timers here

My first time here. Was excited because I heard so many good things. Ordered the Chicken Fried Steak breakfast. Meat had a different taste I wasnt fond of. I thought chicken fried steak has a crispy breading. No breading and no crispy. So much gravy I guess they thought I wouldnt notice it wasnt chicken fried. Fried potatoes ended up being mushy hash browns. My over medium eggs were over easy. This next part is probably due to my OCD, but everything was floating on gravy. So glad I didnt get beans with it. Couldnt imagine refried beans with country gravy. Service was good. Cant remember the last time I left a meal half eaten. Not sure Ill be trying this place anytime soon.

We were introduced to Jennys by a nephew a couple of years ago. This small and cozy family owned business is a favorite spot for many. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The service is second to none..always friendly fast and personable..food is delicious as always..forgot to take pics..fried pork chops is bomb and their chile verde is delicious..you will not be disappointed
