This is a really fun place to go and have a get together with friends and family. We had a very enjoyable time with very comfortable seats. The food was delicious and the drinks were handcrafted and very good. We tried the peach Pizza which was interesting and delicious. The peanut butter chocolate spread for the pretzels is yummy

Stopped here for a drink before dinner. Super nice bartender and he made me an amazingly spicy and delicious Diablo with blackberries. Only issue was we had to valet our car which cost $10 and the valet literally parks your car right in the small parking lot beside the bar. They don't even drive your car up to you when you leave, they hand you your keys and you walk to grab your car. What is the point of this valet service? It's obnoxious and so unnecessary. We stopped by at 4pm. The lot was empty. Why are you doing valet this early, I would be hesitant to stop by again if I have to valet for a couple drinks, I bet I'm not the only customer annoyed by this unnecessary "service" This isn't Beverly Hills where there is no parking lot attached. This is Woodland Hills and you have a parking lot attached!! I would rate higher if you stop the annoying valet.

The Crab Cakes Benedict I ordered was perfectly done, I’ll definitely be back for them again. The breakfast potatoes however were lukewarm and pretty sure had been sitting under a heating lamp for hours. I get that we came in at the tail end of brunch, but still I expect food to taste fresh and be served hot. The Chicken & Waffles was very tasty but oddly the kitchen pours the syrup on the waffle themselves, which does little to preserve their crispness or give the diner a choice of how much syrup to use.
Still we loved the vibe and food choices so we’ll be back to try some of their other offerings. Reasonably priced menu and exceptionally attentive staff is a major win.

I have been a Customer for many many years. However the last time I was there for happy hour with my friend, we were completely neglected by the male bar tender. He took for ever to acknowledge us to take our order. He didn’t bothered to check on our empty glasses, he appeared to be more focused on the young girls by our side. He didn’t even to provide utensils, plates nor napkins for the appetizers ordered. Totally felt disrespectful and disappointed by this experience. Came in for Sunday brunch. Vibe was cool, but the food is kind of limited. I guess thats the point of the gastropub environment, but the pricing could be a bit better in my opinion. Overall a great experience Though, because the ambiance is definitely the kind of place that makes you want to come back.

A nice upscale gastropub to bring the family or coworkers after a hard (or easy) day. Creative cocktails for any palate and a splendid food menu. Take advantage of the Happy Hours prices (4pm to 6pm as of 09/08/2024) as it is well worth it.

Got here around 830 on a Thursday night. It was pretty slow. We sat at the bar. It took quite a while for anyone to greet us at our seats. The service was slow and not exactly what Id call friendly and attentive. The pretzel was drenched in butter and served in a white paper bag (for what???). The kale Caesar was somehow both bland and incredibly salty. The croutons had a burnt taste to them. The egg was boiled until the yolk was gray. Added salmon to it, which was a bit bland but at least cooked well. The burger on the pretzel bun was ok. At least they have a good selection of drinks. If the service was better, it would be easy to forgive the food.

I m giving this review in June, but this experience happened back in March 2024. Great food and good atmosphere, but don t ask to have your checks split unless you want your receipts ripped to pieces! This happened to us after I asked the manager to split our check. Very passive-aggressive move. And we were a party of TWO for crying out loud! If it wasn t for this, I would go back. But I won t be going back there again because of this.

Worst Fish n Chip , I ever had to endure . By the time it was out the kitchen , batter was all wet from it not being strained since it is frozen . Flavorless and at a high price . My food was good , so were the drinks we ordered , but my husband crab cakes Benedict came with really burnt toast ? Instead of English muffins the egg and crab cakes came on some sort of toasted bread , which is ok but it was so burnt that the whole dish was ruin. The restaurant wasn t even that busy . No excuse on the part of the chef to allow that to happen, let alone serve it.

How did I not know about this place? Stumbled upon The Local Peasant while out for an evening walk during the pandemic. Was starving so I just searched yelp for the nearest gastropub. MAN, we were blown away. The social distancing was in effect but it still felt very inviting. The open air bar tables and evening breeze were very comfortable. The staff were all very friendly, and my god the menu is phenomenal. We had the Mezza plate to start, I had The Grill Cheese and Tomato bisque (OMG it sounds basic, but it is NOT) Just humor me, they layer like 3 different cheeses on a Chibatta bread sandwich and grill that bad boy to perfection. *drooling just thinking about it* My bf had the Lemon Pepper wings with jalapeno ranch and WOW. Not only was the portion huge but the wings were juicy and FULL of flavor. I spiked lemonade was perfectly balanced so that it wasnt overly sweet and still packed a punch! Love. This. Place Cheers!

Excellent food, I had the smash burger, my friend the blackened salmon. It was a fun and really loud crowd. No problem getting seated. The staff was very professional and no pressure. Parking: Valet fills up quickly at busy times. I was so full they had to close it before I arrived. Very little street parking at busy times, and the area looks a little suspect.

Rare gem! Combination of unique original fresh flavors in a welcoming unpretentious environment. The deviled eggs are AMAZING! Their own signature pickles are a must, as well as the olives! Their Valentines special was perfect. I can t wait to host a birthday party get-together here!

Im reviewing specifically their promise of brunch. We came because we saw an advertisement for delicious looking ricotta pancakes that when we arrived we found out they discontinued. So it started out as a bit of a bummer, but we decided to stay any way. Our server, Jade, was really sweet and so were the runners that helped out. I have no issues with the service, they were helpful people. First, for a place advertising their brunch they dont have decent coffee. Its drip Ive been sitting in the pot for 10 hours coffee. Brown acid. Its not even on the menu to hide their shame, I just had the misfortune of asking if they had coffee. So if youve never been here, they are primarily a bar, which I didnt know. If you want a Bloody Mary youre fine, but avoid the coffee. We ordered chilaquiles and crab cakes Benedict. My partner said the chilaquiles arent saucy at all like youd expect but were still pretty good. The crab cakes Benedict is $21 for hollandaise sauce you cant taste, a decent poached egg, a sweet crab cake the size of a Sacagawea dollar and a hard sourdough puck of bread. Served with a side of sweet pickled peppers pico. It ended up like a sweet appetizer more than breakfast. It came with OBrian potatoes to fill you up I guess. It was just very much not what I expected. So if you want savory this isnt it. If you want something more like civiche this is for you. Though they really should do something about the bread. The atmosphere - typical bar in Cali, high ceiling, open concept, airy so that it sounds a million times louder than it should, and a ton of giant flat screen TVs. Good for a bar, not the best for brunch. Also parking leaves much to be desired, but thats the valley for you. Overall, not terrible, but not great. Parking: Theres some parking in their small lot and meter parking on the street in front.

I used to come here a good bit, but moved out of the area, and this was the first time I ve been here in a few years it definitely has changed. The food was pretty good, thankfully the fish and chips were as good as I remembered. Parking can be tricky; valet is an option.

Solid place for food and drinks. A little on the pricey side for what you get, but the quality at least makes it a bit more easier to reconcile with. Service was good and our waiter was hilarious, but even as it died down he kind of forgot about us which was disappointing. But overall solid. Just be ready for a wait if you go on a weekend night! Its poppin!

If you have a food allergy - DO NOT GO HERE. Also just because you re handed a menu, doesn t mean the prices are accurate (expect approximately 40% more). My friend & I ordered the crab cake Benedict, it was not good. The eggs were great! But if the untraditional toast didn t throw us off, the overly fishy crab cakes sure did. I ve had a lot of crab cakes, none were ever fishy . So after terrible service, incorrect pricing, & gross food we didn t even get an apology. Not even for the food allergy they so clearly didn t not take seriously. The bartender literally suggested other food first so she didn t have to walk back to the kitchen to ask a question (mind you they were not busy in the slightest), then to still mess it up & not actually communicate properly this guest has a deathly allergy. Atmosphere & drinks were good at least & the other people working there didn t seem to hate life as much.

Great little restaurant with friendly staff. They have 2 locations. Excellent food. We had the eggs appetizer along with the meatballs and the amazing crispy chicken sandwich and the kale with avocado Caesar salad. Good selection of tequila for sipping in our case.

If one is asked to rate food relative to other bar-grill businesses, do not the Prices on the menu factor? The menu tries so hard to be creative and a couple of entries were surprisingly good - it feels like most plates are just a quick/easy twist on something youre actually familiar with. The portions are barely there (fish & crisps Not) but the variety - good. Back to prices . . . is rent on their block of Ventura Blvd THAT high lately? Stopped by for a late night snack and drinks. The restaurant and bar are pretty consistent as far as quality and service. The patrons seem to be whats going downhill. There were a group of guys that just kept walking in-and-out to smoke pot in front of the bar which drifted back in the bar. They sat on their phones being loud idiots.

Don t eat here and pay with cash or else ERIC the manager will chase you and yell at you in the parking lot accusing myself and my partner for not paying but then not apologize after the waiter said I paid. Great establishment. You ll never get another dollar of my business. Delicious food but thanks Eric I ll let everyone know how you treat regulars. TLP is my favorite local hangout. This place is always so nice to spent time with family or friends. The music background volume is just right so you don t feel like you re screaming to each other when hanging out there. Food is always great. Service is phenomenal. Parking is easy they have valet and lots of parking in the street as well. I love the St. Germaine drink. The chips with the cool idea of spraying the vinegar to the chips. Definitely be back again thanks for always giving the best service to your customer! 5 star for you TLP all day!

Service was great even though it was late night. We arrived at 10 PM for a late night dinner. Our server Jade was attentive and friendly, and people all around were generally friendly too. All the food was fabulous, the bread pudding dessert was so good, I couldn t stop! I don t like things to be too sweet, and generally take just a few bites of dessert. But even with the chocolate chunks the bread pudding was so nicely balanced, I could help but finish it all!

First time here. Servers were very attentive! Drinks were great! I had the fish and chips. Excellent! Will definitely come back!

I had previously sat on the patio in front but never ventured inside. Pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. Much larger than I thought. Theres a back room that could be used for private parties or classes. Enjoyed my visit and will return for sure.

Well, let me tell you a thing or two about service! Friendly, sincere, and teamwork oozes inside this place. My wife and I last visited years ago as we moved to a different county. We enjoyed our last experience here but since our last visit approximately 3 years ago, our expectations of service through our weekly local dining experiences have been greatly depreciated as Im sure everyone feels the same. Good service, quality food and excellent atmosphere is becoming rare to find. Between the pandemic, economy decline and overall difficulty holding on to staff, something has greatly shifted in the service industry for the worst. This place, The Local Peasant is different! The service will catch you off guard as it is great! The atmosphere is fun and very alive and the food is super tasty. The Smash burger is dee-eee-licious. Good job guys. Whatever youre doing to promote youre staffs culture is working and it should be practiced everywhere else.

I had a holiday party at the Local Peasant Fri night & it was fantastic! Chad & Samantha were an absolute pleasure to deal with during the planning phase. I m not the type to throw parties but they made it as easy as it could possibly be. Chris & team managed the actual event & they were AMAZING! They really added to the fun atmosphere- they were funny, attentive & literally anticipated our every need. They really took incredible care of all of us. The event was in the tent on the side patio. They even had decorations like a big santa, an xmas tree & a big lighted wreath which made it really festive. It was super cute. I was concerned that it may be chilly, but the heaters kept it extremely warm- didn t even feel like we were outside. The food wasn t quite as good as the last event we had in May (or maybe I ve just been building it up in my mind since then so nothing would compare), but everything was still really tasty. I was so busy hosting the event that I didn t get to eat nearly as much as I wanted to even though they kept the food coming the entire time. All the drinks were great. I really appreciate their creativity in their cocktail menu. I had some sort of painkiller cocktail with blackberry & jalapeño- it was awesome! I really enjoyed the entire event & can t wait to do another one here. Thank you Chad, Samantha, Chris & team for making it so special!!!!
