Ansonia CVS is the absolute worst and has the worst store manager ever. Oct 30 at between 6:45 and 7pm I run in to pick up Halloween candy after working a ten hour day. I wait in a long line and there is only one cashier.
The cashier is taking forever as the line gets long. I have four bags of candy for Halloween buy one get one free. I tell the cashier I don't have my card, can she put in a store card. She extremely rudely replies," No! Everyone has their own card. She doesn't even ask for my telephone number to quickly look up my card. She then proceeds to go over to self service to help people with coupons and then goes down another isle, leaving myself and a long line. I leave the line and say, " I am getting a manager and she yells out, "I am the manager."!!
The manager! Unbelievable! Rude, unprofessional, unable to assist people quickly, unable to just finish a transaction. It appears no one wanted to work with her that night, and she was all alone.
Then I tried to get her name from the pharmacist, and he claims he does not know her name and says he has never seen her before. Then I ask him for someone above her to file a complaint, and he just give me a telephone number. I ask for the time to document and report it accurately and he claims he does not understand the question. I tell him twice I need the time so I can report the manager, and he is still confused. Finally, I walked out disgusted.
I called the number and filed a complaint and could not reiterate enough how rude the manager at the counter was.
DO NOT GO IN THIS STORE and deal with this manager!!!!

A few weeks ago my husband and I took some passport pictures at cvs. Now weeks later we need reprints of those same pictures. I felt so blessed finding Naila at the store. She was so helpful and patient in scrolling through tons of pictures just to find the ones we took. She has no idea how much we appreciated that. Thank you Nail, it's the little things that can change someone's day.

This is by far the worst and messiest CVS I've been to. Saff are rude especially the managers. CVS must be desperate. This is not my first encounter with them. They've managed to mess my prescription all up. They also failed to inform me that they didn't have one of my meds. And tried to replace it with the Temu version.. I'm not even trying to be funny. The pharmacist didn’t read the doctors instructions and gave me the wrong prescription. The manager Steve only wanted to tell me it wasn’t a big deal and that it didn’t need to be reported. Told me I was no longer allowed to speak and then hung up on me without fixing my problem. A pharmacist misdispensing medication is a big deal.

The pharmacy is not 24 hours that's a lie and deceptive business tactic. The pharmacy is closed every day for 1/2 hour at 130. There were 2 other people who got denied service when I was there. They should rotate shifts like normal business standards.

This CVS has to be the absolute worst. Constantly screwing up my meds or not filling them or canceling the order. Some of the staff is great, the rest are horrible. Avoid this pharmacy at all costs if you can.

Came in for 3 vacs. Very professional pharmacist. On & out in 35 minutes, including 10 minutes sitting afterwards. I always go here for my vaccinations.

Not only have I been treated awfully and rudely almost every time Ive ever gone to the pharmacy, but today especially. The attitudes of some of the pharmacy workers is unreal. They are dealing with people who are mostly suffering, you would think they would be nicer. Just RUDE and cold. I will be switching to Valley Pharmacy where they actually know how to treat people.

Mistakingly went to this CVS for my prescription and the young man with black glasses was very rude to me. Rolled his eyes at me. Didnt even tell me. I asked him to check the computer if my doctor sent in my prescription and he told me I have no way to check the system for that. He was very nasty. Do not go to the CVS on Pershing Drive.

Never pick up the phone the pharmacist guy was nice but damn pick up the phone Ive call hand full of time and always been on hold for 25 mins or more and never pick up. Im from bpt I dont want to drive there if its not ready. Rite aid I loved them never had a problem picked up the phone and Im stuff was always ready in an hour do better cvs

Continuously being on hold for over 20 minutes is absurd. There are multiple people behind the counter working at all times. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to be waiting for that long on hold for not one single person to pick up. This has happened to me on more than one occasion. Poor patient care and customer service.

Ooooooh man there are no words. I know CVS Pharmacy sucks to work for, but the way I was spoken to by the pharmacist the other day has me livid. I was visiting from out of town but needed my prescription filled. I went to urgent care, they sent it over, but it didnt appear because of software issues. The pharmacist kept cutting me off as I tried to explain things to him, and just didnt give me the time of day. I CANNOT function with my medication as it is a highly controlled substance, and talking to me the way he did is just abhorrent. Again, I know CVS Pharmacy sucks to work for, but if youre going to be a pharmacist, remember there are people who depend on these medications in order to live and function in society .

If I could give zero stars I would. I am nurse who was told by patient this pharmacy was very nasty to people I went there to pick up medication after being sick. They had cones blocking the drive threw due to there lunch so a line started to form so I got in line like everyone else Caitlyn came to the window when I pulled up and was so nasty and disrespectful I ask to speak to her manger who name was Steven and he comes to the window and is even nastier. I will never give this cvs my business or recommend any of my patients to this pharmacy ever!!!!!! They really need a class on how to approach sick people who are coming to this pharmacy keeping there business running!

I don t know what has happened to the pharmacy; is it a different management? I have been a customer for the past 12 years ( used to love the store and the customers service). The past year has been terrible: no carts or baskets to carry the purchase, employees are rude to customers and to each other - terrible experience every time you go there.

you know i never write reviews. ever. i ve only done it once for a business. honestly. so it s 2am on a thursday night and i need to go to my local cvs to get some otc meds! while arriving at the CVS location in Ansonia, I randomly ran into a work that I remember so well for an act of kindness so heartwarming (i m not exaggerating at all, i genuinely promise) that it stuck with me. genuinely. so i remember Mary (the cvs employee) about few months ago. when i was in literally the same predicament, needing melatonin, i walked out to realize that my debit card was missing from my wallet when i was in the car. (and TRUST me I ain t no lazy guy lol i love to work so my bank account got racks lmao) literally in shell-shocking panic i m searching head to toe in the CVS in ansonia. coming to close tears almost fully concluding that someone took it (well you know Ansonia ain t sunshine s and rainbows to say the least). amidst this panic, Mary also freaking out as much as i am, asked me FIRST being able to tell I was in panic if i had lost my debit card. i screamed with joy YES . alright so back to the story from literally just 5 minutes ago, i ran into her literally expressing heavy gratitude for that incident a few months ago. but literally 30 seconds in some old guy that looks like just like Michael Berryman, but much shorter and dressed like poop that literally just looked like he was 3d printed out a low quality 3d printer, came out of nowhere and asked Mary a question that sounded so obviously dumb and scammy and she literally immediately said no. the guy gets all in her face and out of nowhere his linebacker 67 year old looking (she reasonably looked 46) girlfriend who smelt like literal cigarettes and fart started yelling her at Mary s and became pretty physically intimidating. i jumped in about 10 seconds into yelling and simply said she said no. that s what it means you overly stubborn and stupid man. so some times goes on and i end up calling the police, so they left. police got here and we were good. i gave my id to the officer and surprisingly i didn t have any arrest warrants (just kidding). so firstly to the couple who started problems, i hope u read this. but more importantly Mary i hope you re reading this. Not at all i give a single damn about cvs so i m not telling you people to go to this lovely location, but i m speaking for Mary. it s small and good deeds that all humans are capable of doing that have enormous impacts on people. what if Mary didn t see my card in time? i could ve been in an uh-oh. but what if i didn t come to that store in time, considering Ansonia it s pretty possible they could ve escalated and harmed her and rob the store. so if you got this far, thank you for reading, but i challenge you to do one good deed for someone today, cause you never know GET HER A RAISE!!!!!!!

Can t speak to a person from the pharmacy over the phone so you re screwed if you have any questions that can t be answered by their automated system. I have waited over an hour and have even called the general store and requested to be transferred thinking that the line was broken. Never dealing with CVS again for medications, it s always a problem. To clarify, this poor review is directed at management NOT pharmacy workers because I m sure if the pharmacy was properly staffed, they wouldn t be struggling to provide appropriate services.

Medicine ready for pick up. Have to wait an additional time to mix the medicine. Small children in store and pharmacist grabbed her prescription and immediately mixed it so we could get out of the busy store. Last month because insurance and prescription limits it was pretty frustrating for all involved so I appreciate the urgency in getting the kids out of the store this time.

I had a prescription sent here last night; and immediately got a call it was ready to be picked up (I could not pick up until today and was told that was fine). I called this morning, and the automated voice said I had a prescription ready for pick up; but I needed to speak to a pharmacist anyways so I confirmed with the live pharmacist that it was in fact ready for pick up, but that there was an issue with insurance. So I spent an hour resolving that, called cvs AGAIN and spoke to ANOTHER pharmacist who also confirmed it was ready. So I drove all the way there - while sick - just to be told they dont have it ready and its not even in their waiting bin yet and that I am unable to pick it up yet. This is not the care anyone wants while theyre sick, so if youre in a rush I wouldnt suggest them. Even if you call 3 times to confirm its ready - theyre a hot mess.

WORST PHARMACY EVER!!!!!!!!! sadly have been wasting my time, energy and patience with this place for years!!! but today i have had enough sent my boyfriend to pick up medicine for me. first time THE MANAGER CURRENTLY said yeah im going through the order right now come back a little later I will have one held on the side which was nice of her. but then he returns and someone tells him to again come back later it is not finished A WHOLE 3+ HOURS LATER ALMOST 4 AT THIS POINT. oh and lets not forget the employee that simply says oh i am so sorry about this we had just gotten a truck a couple days ago and our stuff comes in totes and we havent gone through them yet HUH?!?!?!?! Like what? I am so lost and appalled this is by far the worst experience I have had at this CVS. Most definitely will be switching my pharmacy ASAP.

Pray to your god that you are never inside on the wrong half of the building in an emergency. Management deadbolts and electronically locks one egress from inside at night until 8am as part of policy, in apparent fire code violation. Manager on duty (Dean) dismissed concerns out of hand and insisted it was not a violation, and then cited an unrelated ADA requirement about the presence of handicapped ramps. Unreal. Unsafe. Uncaring.

It was the worst experience ever. To be harassed and profiled is nuts. Not to mention I was being told it s their policy to watch people while they shop. And that it took 3 employees to stand behind me while I rang up a $3 dollar bottle of tide because it was in a lock cabinet. Mind you my ice cream was more than the tide I swear I can t make this up. I recorded everything, I ve been a customer over 10 years and I ve never had this happen to me. I was so embarrassed as a man, a father, a local business owner. Why do these kinds of people work here. And then I was told if I don t like it I can shop elsewhere. I m going to pursue this to the fullest extent. Being followed and never once asked if I needed help and after pressing the help button on the glass not once but 3 times. And it taking 15 minutes to assist me. These people need to be fired!! This has to stop !

don t get your disposable cameras printed here they lost two years worth of pictures (two cameras) and never called me or contacted me when they came. I literally wrote down my email and phone number for zero reason i cried my eyes out so ridiculous. they could have at least told me when to come pick them up but instead i didn t know how long it would take and before they used to contact me when they were done.

I just started going to the CVS in Ansonia in December when my kids and I got sick and the Walgreens weve always used in Hamden on Dixwell and Putnam is just rediculious. This CVS is close to were we live the store is clean but the pharmacy is rediculious always long drive through lines, always assume you dont have insurance , questions you about your prescriptions when your picking up what your Dr just sent over. Yes the women in the pharmacy are 100 percent racist. I picked up 5 prescriptions for myself on March 16th went to take one now and its wrong I called CVS the women that answered acted like I never filled a prescription there , she said have you ever picked up a perscription here? I said yes on the 16th and befor ,she said she cant find me in the computer and then she said thats what they have and didnt try to solve the problem that its the wrong medication. The wrong name on the bottle, the wrong color and wrong size of the pull. Again she said thats what we have and thats that. I told her my kids and i will go back to Walgreens , CVS is absolutely rediculious we will take a longer drive back to Walgreens further in Hamden their not 24hrs but they get your prescriptions correct.

Customer service: 0/5 to 1/5 Cleanliness: 4/5 The 656 New Haven Ave store is a better CVS store than this Pershing Dr store. I had an issue with my online order placed to be picked up at the New Haven Ave store, was sent to this Pershing Dr store to pickup the remaining supplements of my order (because the other store was out of stock), had to wait here for 15 min until I could ask someone for help. The manager refused to help because apparently their inventory is on a separate system than other stores. They cannot make any exceptions and told me to literally go back to the other store. I did politely ask them to call the other store to confirm details but they refused to. This is the first time I see such an inflexibility from the manager and the ability to cooperate with other store in the same CVS network. The other store (New Haven Ave) handled the issue in a much professional way. They called me and gave me as much help and alternatives as they could since I was in a rush. Overall, this Pershing Dr store is generally clean and things are organized, but theres nothing special to keep me from visiting this store again based on my above negative experience.

Loving this 24 hour location. They actually had two clearance item tables!! That is rare! The gentleman working there is extremely pleasant, caring and knowledgeable. F.Y.I The front door is usually locked. You have to enter through the side door! Happy Shopping!

I began to get sick at 2 AM and decided to roll the dice on finding a 24 hour store rather than lose a night of sleep. This location was well organized despite being very obviously extremely busy during daylight hours. I expected to wait a few minutes at self checkout for my NyQuil because it was 2:30 AM but no; somebody popped right up and helped me. Im back in my bed 20 minutes later. I know working 24 hour retail is no joke and just wanted to say bless these people.

Wont ever answer phone calls. If they do its always only one of then answering all calls. Was on the phone on hold 21 min 37 secs the first time, 11 min x amount of seconds 2nd time and 13 min x amount of seconds the third time. Its 10:30 pm!!!!!! ON A FRIDAY!!!! There is NO WAY there is only 1 person in the pharmacy nor are you THAT BUSY at this hour on a Friday night. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

I ve been dealing with this pharmacy for years and gets worse every year more and more with the rude customer service and always a delay I m a cancer and pain medication because they forget to restock so therefore people in pain or fighting cancer has to wait until they make an order a few days to receive it and when you try to speak to someone about it they ll just get super rude with you and hang up in your face and the corporate office doesn t seem to care I ve made several complaints to the corporate office and even spoken to the district leader so it starts there..This is the Worst pharmacy I ve ever come across The Staff at this Pharmacy are so unprofessional

Worse customer service. I normally went to Derby branch on New haven Ave. I would never back to this location. I was there this afternoon. The cashier asked me to go to self checkout even I was only next in line. I said I had a lot of stuff and need bags, She said there is bag at self checkout. It was like small paper lunch bags. Did she notice I have a full basket of large items? Three items down after I scanned and I had a issue with the kiosk. The machine kept saying help on the way I assumed the customer service should be able to hear it. I was patiently waiting for them to come but nobody came. I decided to see the cashier, same one asked me to go to self check out. She glanced at me, finished the customer she was servicing and said next in line . Without talking to me. I was being ignored. I left without buying anything.

Lord forbid you have to deal with pharmacist ANGELO at this location. Ive never spoken with someone as rude as him before. He kept cutting me off when I was asking questions about my meds and he gets very hostile. Ive never had anyone in customer service to be that rude to me before

Awful experience. When my sister was getting her covid booster they were like You need to be with an adult despite her being 20 years of age. When I got my covid booster they told me to sit in the waiting room which was filled with people who were waiting to get a covid test. People in the waiting room had covid possibly. I got covid thanks to that.

I visited the Ansonia store at 4 am on Christmas Day and Kwasi was very welcoming and acknowledged me when I came in. Despite how tired he looked he was working hard and restocking! Thank you Kwasi for your customer service!

Awful pharmacy. Stay away. Its a large store in a high traffic area. Its clear that the pharmacy staff have no concern for or interest in the customers or the business. Theyre not only unhelpful but are outright rude and antagonistic. Apparently whether customers return or not has no effect on the staff, and it shows. They have no concern for how long they keep customers waiting. When I was there, they lost my prescriptions. I had received a text that they were ready for pick up. When I got there, the staff couldnt find them. Then they claimed the doctor never responded to the refill request, even though they had texted that it was ready. I later checked with my doctor, who said she definitely submitted the refill request. Throughout the time, they were totally rude and unhelpful, trying to blame my doctor, but didnt call my doctor to try to solve the problem. Meanwhile, they kept me waiting on one line after another, sending me back and forth between the pick up line and the drop off line. Absolutely awful pharmacy

I had to take a last minute headshot photo late at night. It took so much time but the staff handled it like a champ. Stacey is more than helpful. She is so accomodating and amazing. My hats off to the entire cvs staff. I also get all my meds here. Love the service and the 24 hour store time. I appreciate it. You guys rock.

The staff here at the pharmacy very rude as like if they hate the job and is our fault they weren t there always with angry faces and attitude and Eli quick about your medication not being ready and he just got called in when in fact it was called in hours before I called for them to tell me the same lie they just told me hours ago very poor Service

They never have my prescriptions when I need them refilled I always have to run to a different cvs to get the things they never had and to top it off I just called the pharmacy to ask a 1 minute question the worker answers and says cvs please hold wait time is 15 minutes. Are u kidding me? To answer 1 simple question. Its 12:30 am you cannot be that busy that you cant answer my question for 15 minutes. I waited longer than 15 minutes called back and got the same response. I tried to speak but he wouldnt let me get a word in at all just put me right on hold. What is wrong with you guys?

So i switch my medication to this pharmacy and walked over to get it,mind u it took two days to fill. the attendant (makes me say my whole govnt name out loud ...mind u im trans )They take forever to find my meds, Which is cool i didnt say anything then when i get home i find out they never gave me one of my medications because i didnt ask for it but i clearly said i was transferring all my medication there and coming to pick them up ... Needless to say they told me theyll call me back to get my medication and never did . in my opinon they were annoyed by my situation...not very LGBT friendly.

Never had any issues here. The pharmacy staff is welcoming and courteous. The pharmacist goes out of his way to help which speaks volumes.

Typical CVS. Employees are helpful. Store is always clean and well stocked. Pharmacy can get busy at times but they as quickly as possible.

I cant believe that of all the places that require the customers to wear masks, that a place such as cvs would allow anyone who doesnt want to follow state protocol to come in and potentially infect everyone! I was at the ansonia location and saw 3 people next to me without masks and asked the clerk what their policy was and she simply said its whatever you want. Unbelieveable! How can anyone feel safe in a PHARMACY that doesnt care about peoples health!?

Ive been coming to this CVS for a long time now... The people here are super friendly, especially in the pharmacy. My Mom is actually good friends with a lot of the pharmacists since she has to come pick up scripts quite often & they are all very accommodating to her. I love how this CVS has a drive thru and it seems like this one is a bit bigger than other CVSs ive usually seen. I LOVE this CVS!!!

Awful experience with the minute clinic. They are very unprofessional and cant do their job. Better off going to an actual doctor who can write you a script for an actual appointment when they find something wrong. Save your money for the real professionals.

Terrible there always seems to be a problem with prescriptions either they blame the Dr. or some lame excuse. My husbands medications are being refilled ahead of time even after I took them off ready fill service. Its time to take these issues a step further.

After waiting 45 minutes , the staff failed to provide me with the right medicine. They handed me only One part of my prescription and carelessly forgot about the other one. Awful . Unprofessional. You would think this was a fast food restaurant with a mistake like that. The manager Valentino wasnt so bad about be empathetic. However, this CVS is a disgrace.

Terrible service. Went in to make a calendar and they were very receptive and helpful. Told me it would be done in 15-20 minutes. Then told me after I waited they would call me because it would take a few days. The manager was very confused and rushed me out of there after I waited for it. Then over a week later no one contacted me. I would have respected them so much more if someone at least called me and said your order is not complete or never went through. Very disappointed and will not go back. Very frustrated and will relay the message to others. Poor management.

The most rude sales call i ever encountered! I asked if a product was in stock the gentleman says yes one, and wen i asked which brand he sarcastically says does it really matter! I said yes n made him go back n look n says I tbink u took me the wrong way. i never told him he was rude, but he knew it. Then he tells me its not there cuz it was stolen. It was worst experience ever w a store. i belive it was thete n didnt want me to go there because how nasty his attitude was. I even thanked him at the end. I wouldnt lower to his level, but will discuss this w a supervisor next time im there.

If you need medicine over the counter or prescription a.s.a.p. (literally ANY hour of the day) and dont care how much you pay...this is the place for you...otherwise go to Walmart.

Never again. Every time i go there is 4 or 5 people in line, being served by two. Seems like a small wait but it will take 25 mins. Then after youve waited 25 mins and the line behind you has grown to 20-25 people (nearly to the door) they will open 2 or 3 more registers. Worst CVS i have ever been to. This isnt my only issue with them either. Pharmacist lacks knowledge for regulation of my medication and had dispensed incorrectly more than once. NEVER EVER AGAIN.

I am always treated well by the cheerful and helpful staff. I was a Walgreens die-hard, but my insurance made me to to CVS. I chose the Pershing DR store and have been very happy for 4 years!
