We started coming to Wood about 5 years ago and every time it has been outstanding! We enjoy every minute here. Food is outstanding, great drinks, cozy atmosphere and last but not least - the team of people that make this all happen is just remarkable! It is a gem hidden in the Lakeview area of Chicago! If you are visiting or maybe just not as close to this area, I still highly recommend to take a trip to Wood Restaurant. Their menu is not stagnant as at some other places and the chef is not afraid experimenting. Last time he surprised us with Wild Sturgeon with Trout roe and kohlrabi with the pistachio pesto. It was creation to remember! Thank you, chef, for making the difference and Scott for the nice evening at Wood!

Incredible menu that is constantly changing. Was recommended this restaurant by a coworker and we went here for our anniversary. We got champagne on the house and awesome service. Food was incredible, tasty, and our server (I forgot his name but he had glasses and worked 5/29/24 on the patio, was incredibly kind and friendly. Great recommendations. Loved the happy hour cocktails as well. We will be back!

The Slagel Farm Chicken Breast was more than just a meal-for this Alabamian, it was a journey back in time to my great grandmother's kitchen table. The chicken, roasted to perfection with herbes de Provence, was rich with flavor, but the real star for me was the 'chicken pot pie' with its made-from-scratch crust. It was buttery, flaky, and paired perfectly with the farm-fresh fall vegetables. Each bite brought warmth and nostalgia, taking me back to those cherished family dinners. The combination of the velvety sauce velouté and the smooth pomme purée added a luxurious touch that elevated the dish even further. Truly, a memorable culinary experience that felt like home.

During a leisurely walk in Chicago, my friends and I stumbled upon Wood and were immediately drawn to its inviting patio. We decided to give it a try, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice!

The staff were friendly and offered excellent suggestions that enhanced our dining experience. We started with Wood’s Biscuits, which were so delicious that we ended up ordering a second portion. The fluffy, flavorful biscuits were a true highlight.

For the main course, I opted for Wood’s KFC, a delightful twist on fried chicken Korean style with a sweet and sour glaze. It was a perfect balance of crispy and tender, with a unique flavor that left a lasting impression.

Wood is a great spot for a casual yet memorable meal, especially if you enjoy dining on a charming patio. The combination of delicious food, excellent service, and a pleasant atmosphere makes it a must-visit. Highly recommended!

brought my mom here for a late mother’s Day dinner and the food was DELICIOUS! i had the beef stroganoff and my mom the roasted chicken with potatoes. our server Santi was super sweet and helpful — even gave me a glass of champagne to celebrate my graduation. I would definitely visit again just to try the roasted chicken 😊

Amazingly delicious food with creative flavors and fun, exploratory ingredients. Finally got the chance to try sunchoke for the first time here!
Great service too, staff was communicative and honest about wait times since we were on a time crunch, but 100% don’t regret staying for the food.

We came to Wood for family dinner and had an incredible time! Our relatives are retired and the host at Wood made sure to seat us at a quieter table.

Our server, JJ, was so friendly and delivered impeccable service! He immediately got us water and took our drink order.

JJ explained that you give your entire order at once and the kitchen courses everything out. He gave us plenty of time and some recommendations, and once we were ready, he was there to take our order.

We ordered the cheese board to start and it was delicious! While it looks small, it’s hefty enough to temporarily satisfy the snack craving for four adults.

We ordered the duck breast and steak and both were wonderful! We cleaned our plates and were happily full.

Our relatives mentioned that while the restaurant was a little loud for them, they can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. Highly recommend coming to Wood and if you’re in JJ’s section, you’re in for a great time! ❤️

This used to be my favorite restaurant. But in the past year, it's really deteriorated. The service is very spotty - sometimes, especially on the patio, it's great. Efficient, attentive. Inside the restaurant, the waiter can literally disappear for an hour, food takes forever, main dishes come out at radically different times, etc.

The menu used to be extensive. Now it's much more abbreviated, and sometimes the food just isn't prepared well. Finally, some of the staff are amazing - professional, courteous, helpful - but some are... not. The (male) bartender was inexcusably condescending and rude to me the last time I was there. Some of the waiters are just phoning it in.

I will say that the ambiance is still lovely, and generally the cocktail service is quite good. If you want to pop in for a drink at the bar and share the charcuterie board, that's about your best bet.

Ate at Wood last night with my party of 6 people. Place has a great ambience, but the service may have been some of the worst i have experienced. We were scoffed at when we placed our appetizer order and said we hadn’t decided on a main dish. We were told by our server that “if you’re not ready to order mains it’s going to be wait” as if it was a punishment. Server rarely checked in on us and when we were finally welcomed to order our main dish, I ordered the steak (i ordered it medium rare) and was immediately told “yeah that’s going to be a wait” which was fine. Our main dishes did not hit our table till 3 HOURS after we were sat down. My steak was so rare it was cold and mooing at me on the plate. My guest’s fish had a noticeable fish smell, at this point of waiting 3 hours it was far too late to say anything in fear of being stuck at this restaurant any longer. The bill came and of course it was auto gratuity (which is fine) but it felt as tho this server knew he was guaranteed a tip no matter the service hence why we were treated like an after thought. On top of all this you may thinking “well maybe it was busy, that’s why it took so long and the service was spotty at best?” No There were open tables around us in the restaurant at all moments when we’re seated we watched tables and get sat, ate and leave before we even saw our main course. Hopefully this reaches the target audience and no one has the same experience we had.

This was an awesome dining experience. Absolutely excellent service, unique drinks, and the food was delicious. The menu changes often which makes it fun to go back to. Honestly, there are so many menu items that I struggled to pick. I landed on the steak and it was incredible. Highly recommend for a date night or a fun group outing with friends.

My family had dinner there for the first time for my anniversary. The food was amazing and the drinks were even better. It’s a local neighborhood spot that I’ve been wanting to visit but it’s not the best place for kids unless they have a sophisticated pallet (my picky eater only wanted fries.)

Would recommend going for date night or with friends, but leave the kiddos at home.

My visit reminded me of the crazy mirrors at a state fair.

We sat outside at 5PM, it wasn't busy. Our waiter was named Scott and he was pleasant and joking with us. We (3 of us) placed our order, the food was brought out and he left. A few minutes later, it looked like he was walking past our table and I made a quiet gesture with three fingers of my right hand.

He came to the table and asked if "I gestured for him." I said yes. Without my distance glasses, I could not tell if he saw me.

He proceeded to tell me, "I am never to gesture to him again. That I was rude." He took my additional order and left.

Who deigns to tell someone else how to have manners?

My son, who lives near there, has eaten there for 13 years and was not only angry but hurt that the waiter talked to me like that. What if I had been the boss for these two young men?

The manager came out and said he Scott has been in trouble and has been suspended before. We asked what did he do? "He threatened to cut someone's fingers off."

So go if you want, but don't gesture, and keep your hands in your pocket if you get Scott.

It was like the Twilight Zone to see him go from pleasant to being crazed by a little old lady motioning for him to come to the table.

Just had dinner at Wood after not going for over a decade, and it was impressive. The new fall menu is on point. We kicked things off with the Braised Lamb Birria Flatbread, and it set the tone for the night—rich, flavorful, with just the right kick. For the main course, I went with the Slagel Farm Chicken Breast. The roasted herb butter gave it a perfect balance, and the sides really felt like an elevated twist on comfort food. Everything was well thought out and executed. Definitely worth checking out this season.

Their Branzino meal is the best fish meal (I could probably just say meal tbh!!) that I've ever eaten.
Cukes cooked through w/ a char, a couscous seasoned perfectly, and the cook on the Branzino?? Holy holy smokes!! A little pitcher of sauce/broth poured over the entire meal by the presenter at serving...and...omg absolutely amazing!!! Thank you Wood!!

Great in every category but they added a “large party” gratuity to our party of 2 then ran our card for another table’s bill that was double the amount of our bill. 🤯 Unfortunately, that made us leave with a bad impression of the place overall.

If you're looking for a restaurant with a very huge delicious menu, this is the place to visit. Wood is the best in this area! Their appetizers are great and generous. They have plenty options for salad. I got their steak and it was tender, savory, and worth trying. It was flavorful. Will definitely order the same food next time.

4% fee to use credit card. Seriously? That’s more than what Visa or Mastercard or Amex would charge. Are you making money off card transactions?

Food is creatively curated, presented and delicious. We were dinner guests on a Friday night. Our experience was tainted by very slow delivery of the mains. Waited about 45 minutes from appetizer to mains. Simply not acceptable. Wait staff was attentive and thanked us for our patience. It would have been classy if they offered some accommodation for the slow delivery but none was forthcoming.

Room is very noisy. Not sure what can be done about that but it does detract from the experience.

Waited over an hour for our food. Once we got it, it was just okay but not worth the wait. The Chocolate & Mascarpone is a complete ripoff as it looks like leftovers from the original smeared onto a plate. Comical that it’s $12.

We started with
Turkish Style Lahmajoun Flatbread which was very good and a little on the spicy side. Our mains were:

Wild Caught Halibut & Shrimp which was very tasty and
Slagel Farm Short Rib. It is not the typical tender fatty dish you would expect. Since it was smoked it was much leaner . I would have preferred a softer cut of meat
Overall, it was a solid menu, and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. Superb service #saisson

The restaurant's name, "Wood", is an homage to Owner Franco Gianni’s father, who was a woodworker for more than 50 years. His family still runs a Chicago-area woodworking factory to this day. Wood’s interiors feature hand-torched cedar wall paneling with elevated touches throughout.

With Executive Chef Devin Kreller (Bellemore, Sixteen, North Pond) at the helm, our kitchen presents seasonably inspired shareable plates focusing on local farm produce, house-butchered meats, house-made pastas, charcuterie and flatbreads from the wood-fired oven. Love the venue. The food is decent.
However. Our server was obviously stoned out of his mind. We ordered an espresso martini and two vodka sodas. The server/waiter brought us two IPA’s and asked if it was ours. We were so confused because we already had our drinks o our table. I ordered the BimBimBop and he waited to till I was done with my meal (like last two bites) to bring the sauce out. He did bring me ketchup to go with it … I was so confused. This place has a lot of potential but they need to hire better staff.

Food is great , services by the waiters serving water were great. And the place is wonderful and classy .
But my experience with the waitress that was assigned to us was terrible. She was rude, I do not know if she was having a bad day, but was just rushing everything, pushing us to order even when we did not have a menu ( we left our phones charging at the bar) , then she tried to take my plate away when I was not even done, pick up the plate and then ask “ are you done” .

Truly one of Chicago’s great restaurants. Very attentive service, farm-sourced ingredients and creative, delicious flavor combinations with a warm stylish ambience. Solid pasta dishes, great fish entrees, and flatbreads that are like mini pizzas.

The kitchen staff is awful - even when the restaurant is not very busy it still takes 40 mins to get food. The bar staff is great but the place needs to figure the kitchen situation out.

This place is the worst. First of all, it smells. I had ordered rabbit for dinner. They brought the food out, and it was cold and undercooked. I asked them to replace the food. They brought the same food back; they had just warmed the plate. It was horrible. They only took the drinks off the receipt, not the meal, because they said the drinks were cheaper than the meal. I will never come back to this place again.

This was probably our fourth time at this place, so we enjoy coming back. We find it to be just the right combination of elegant and down to earth.

We arrived on time for our reservation, and we were seated right away. The service was very pleasant but this night the kitchen service was quite slow, so not the best there.

From the menu's standpoint, it's hard to pin down but I feel like I get a strong french brasserie influence with a couple of quirky but fun dishes like escargots and steak tartare, although most of the menu does not necessarily go with that theme. Also, bear in mind that the menu changes from time to time, which I think is great but which might throw off the creatures of habit out there.

I had steak tartare for appetizer. It was fantastic. I had the braised pork shoulder for dinner, which I thought was good. My table mates had burgers, which they said they enjoyed. We also had the Caesar salad. It is a very simple deconstructed version. It was good.

I almost forgot. The cocktails were good. I had a cocktail with beet juice. I know that sounds weird, right?! But, it was great! Sorry, I don't recall the name.

I'd recommend this place for repeat visits to try what they have on offer between the different iterations on the menu.

We waited forty-five minutes for our food. The food was cold when it was finally brought to us. The individual who brought us the food came rushing to the table shouting loudly about the plates being hot…but the food was cold. The manager apologized and claimed they were swamped because they had a large party. However, if the food was cold, it was probably sitting around. Which means there was a huge misstep in service. Our server, while kind and professional, only checked in with us one time during the forty-five minute period. I will not be attending this restaurant again because this experience was flat out disrespectful. As I stated to the manager, I can go to the restaurant across the street and get my order, eat and pay my bill in 45 minutes. I can appreciate that restaurants have challenging days but I do think the people working there have a responsibility to communicate with customers. I hope people reading this review and deciding to give them a chance will have a better experience that we did.

Food was great.. after 30 minutes we didn't get our dessert. And then we were told that our huge check could not be split more than 4 ways. So for all those great reviews, and the huge money we paid, we would think that you could figure out a way to take out money in the way that we want to pay you. We'd rather not fight among ourselves to figure out who owes what. Tonight was great until it wasn't.

One of our best dining experiences. From the appetizer to the drinks to the main course, it could not be any better. Timing of service was well thought out and executed. Atmosphere was a bit loud so keep that in mind if you are looking for quiet.

I am choosing to now write this review as I have been here several times now and feel that my experience is consistent.

Went for a double-date night this past Wednesday and felt as if the pricing was high. I believe the burger was $22 and was pretty small for the price tag. The fries were also cold and stale.

I have been for brunch and I did enjoy the omelet I had then, as well as a biscuit with a house jam.

My main concern here is the service. My first experience here was actually terrible as I had a $400+ bill and my server continuously asked me to view the menu instead of answering questions I had. During my two most recent visits the service was incredibly slow. The servers were friendly but had a difficult time making it back to me in time to get new orders, etc.

When I dined on Wednesday I again had a high bill and after sitting with empty drinks for most of the meal, the server ended up getting us another round. He then immediately made it clear that he wanted to drop the check/turn the table over. Like I said, he was polite overall but still not the best hospitality when you're looking at a $50-60 tip.

Lastly - it is now normal for restaurants to require all courses be put in at once. The server, host, or menu needs to immediately communicate this to patrons as otherwise it'll catch you off guard and throw off the rhythm of the dining experience.

Ambience is nice - good lighting and cute space.

I must commend Wood for having bartender Tommy J Lansaw, who is the Chicago counterpart of famous Somerville, MA (but originally Carleton College) bartender Sam Treadway. For this reason alone, a visit to Wood is an essential Chicago experience. Recommended.

Mediocre, there’s not much more to say. But I’m gay so here we go anyway. Hairy food, dirty cutlery and sub par drinks. I’m really not sure how this establishment has attained 4 stars.

The pork was dry, the dumplings were cold and the pate was pre-spread (and hairy). We shouldn’t have to scrape and chisel yesterday’s food off the cutlery. Quite simply I couldn’t recommend this to anyone, to be honest would have been better going to McDonalds. Don’t waste your $ here.

Oh it also smelt of bleach.

I've always held a soft spot for Wood restaurant, the lone shining beacon of culinary excellence in Boystown, amidst a sea of uninspiring eateries. However, my recent visit on Saturday, September 9th, left me with no choice but to give it a mere 1-star rating, a drastic departure from my usual appreciation.

I had been looking forward to this dinner for weeks, as a friend from California was in town. I'd made a reservation at Wood with the intention of enjoying an exquisite meal before exploring the neighboring bars. But upon our arrival at 8 pm, we were greeted with an unexpected sight: a closed door and an entirely shuttered restaurant. Even the chairs were neatly placed atop the tables, indicating that the establishment had been closed for cleaning or some other reason.

My initial reaction was one of profound sadness and disappointment. What added to my dismay was the complete lack of any prior notification regarding the restaurant's closure. Even now, nearly a week later, I remain in the dark about the reasons behind this abrupt closure. This left me and my visiting friend in a deeply awkward position, scrambling to find an alternative dining option at 8 pm on a Saturday night. Securing a table at a noteworthy restaurant at that hour proved to be a near-impossible task. We were forced to settle for something less than desirable and had to endure an agonizing wait of nearly 1.5 hours before we could be seated.

To this day, we received no apology, no explanation, and no acknowledgment of the inconvenience we experienced for a pretty much ruined evening.

In all fairness, my past experiences at Wood had been quite positive, and I had held the restaurant in high regard. However, this incident was a glaring exception, tarnishing my perception of what had once been a reliable dining choice. The complete lack of communication and customer service during this unfortunate episode left me profoundly disappointed.

I sincerely hope that Wood restaurant takes this feedback to heart and makes efforts to rectify such glaring lapses in communication and service in the future. Until then, my enthusiasm for returning to Wood has been significantly diminished, and I'll be cautious about recommending it to others.

If you're looking for a restaurant with a very creative and delicious menu, this is the place to visit.
The appetizers alone will have your taste buds jumping. The corn dumplings are simple yet so tasty. The watermelon salad with all its complexities of flavors and the not so ordinary caesar salad are definitely my favorites.
Admittedly, I came here to try the handmade pasta, and they did not disappoint. However, I couldn't help myself from stealing a few bites of my date's prime filet of beef. It was so tender and flavorful.
Chef Devin and his team are excellent. I can't wait to return to try to even more of their menu.

Came here on a Friday night out and were able to get a table promptly even though we were 30 minutes early for our reservation. Staff was prompt and kind especially when there was a miscommunication about which dish we got. We ordered the heirloom tomatoes and burrata and the steak tartare, but also received the heirloom toast. All three were delicious including the toast which isn’t something I’d have ordered but was amazing (and comped after the miscommunication was discovered)! We then had the 3.0 burger and the rigatoni ragu which were out of the world! Oh and the presentation of the tomato and burrata was exquisite 10/10.
Mateo was a great server and the support staff always made sure we had the right plates etc at the right time and kept the table orderly. Great jobs all around

Bartender at the bar was extremely rude and a complete b, she had on a red tank and hair pulled up into a short pony tail. Just because a customer makes a comment about the bar not having a type of alcohol or someone isn’t ready to order a drink doesn’t mean you have to be rude to your customers as they ask or decide on what they want to drink! Then make a hand gesture like what do want is completely rude.

Wood is an excellent restaurant with semi-fine dining at reasonable prices. My partner and I started our meal with duck liver toast (excellent flavors but a bit too salty) and a sunset cocktail (loved it!). My partner got the pasta primavera and I got the double pork plate. The pasta was good with excellent tomato flavors, but felt a bit small and didn't have any "centerpiece" to the meal. The pork had perfectly seasoned loin and sausage, saucy couscous, and amazingly crisped spinach. It was a better value for money and is truly perfect in my book, so I would definitely order it again. For dinner, we got the ice-cream sundae and sorbet. The ice cream have a tiny bit of freezer burn but was otherwise excellent. The sorbet was a bit simplistic but solid.

Expect to spend $30-70 per person before tip; this meal for two was $102. Our server was slightly inexperienced, but was still knowledgeable and attentive. The space gets darker as you sit further in the back, and there's a loud buzz of conversation. The patio is more popular for reservations, and is quieter.

This place is NOT kid friendly. I took my daughter and her grandparents for what I thought would be a nice dinner out in the neighborhood. While the appetizers and entrees were great, they took over an hour to bring my daughter's dinner out. And we requested lightly buttered noodles! When it finally came out, the noodles were sitting in a pool of butter. I requested that they redo it with LIGHT butter and, again, it came out soaked in butter. The food is great but it's pretty appalling that they can't get a simple child's dish right. Will never bring my daughter back here.

Tldr - terrible server, super slow food to come out, 2 of 5 dishes did not match the menu. Food was overall was fine.

I've been here several times, good cocktails, service in particular time to get dishes out is always slow - particularly so on this visit.

We are on the outdoor patio which is nicely covered and protected us from a brief downpour

Our server was not good. He said about 10 words in the >2 hours we were there. He did not talk about the menu, did not suggest ordering all at once - in fact said "no rush" when we ordered wine and small plates to start. Checked on us maybe 2x in the 2+hours we were there due to...

Super slow food, I assume this was the kitchen not the server but I don't know. It was over 20 minutes from when we ordered mains until they came out.

We ordered a bottle of Buena Vista Pinot Noir as we know and have visited the winery. It came out already opened which was sus - I'm giving the "benefit of the doubt" that the server just didn't know how to use a wine key so they opened it inside? Best possible scenario I can come up with. It took at least 10 minutes to get the wine after we ordered. We were not offered a taste of the wine it was just poured (in terrible tiny glasses) and he left.

We ordered "Heirloom tomato toast" and beef tartar.

The tomato toast was very much not heirloom tomato - just regular grocery store beefsteak. They were mealy and completely unseasoned. The only reason we didn't send them back was because the waiter was nowhere to be found.

Beef tartar was good - very fine texture and very creamy, maybe a bit under seasoned.y partner thought it was too finely chopped and too creamy/overdressed, but a matter of preference...

Again when we were (finally - over an hour after our arrival) served the "Spaghetti Alla Chitarra al Pesto" was not the "hand-rolled ramp pasta" listed on the menu. It was very average machine produced spaghetti. It was over-sauced and the pesto was very watery. The past was properly cooked and the dish was well seasoned - and hot, so the timing issues weren't with running the food or one dish waiting on another.

They were out of the Halibut my first choice, and fortunately our server remembered that after taking the order, but before walking away. So I took my second choice "Catalpa Grove Pork Duo.". The pork loin was lovely as was the overall seasoning and flavor of the dish. A nice smokey char throughout. Unfortunately the sausage was not as successful, it wasn't seared hard enough and was borderline undercooked in the center, with a less than ideal, almost mushy texture.

Dessert was "Strawberries & Cream" it was well plated and huge - glad we were sharing, though we had no plates or utensils - which the runner noticed and brought right away. A good dish but much more chocolate forward than strawberry or cream. Unfortunately the strawberries were slightly underripe and tart.

Overall a disappointing experience, poor service, slow food, and dishes that did not match the menu and less than ideal ingredients. It's too bad as it could have been great ...

It was a good value (time not withstanding) at ~$150 pre tip - though they are also including a "3% pandemic charge" whatever that is!

Went here for a special dinner because it is queer-owned, was a bit disappointed. Waited a long time for drinks, food, and even the bill at the end. The food was tasty but the portions were very small for the price and quality. I’m more than happy to pay for a wonderful expensive night out. The food was not bad, but for what you pay I was disappointed that I left hungry.

It's hard to call this place a hidden gem as they have been around for years, but it still feels that way. The current chef has really come into his own. The pasta dishes are exceptional and alone worthy of a visit, while his seasonal playfulness with the rest of the menu is always creative and carefully curated.

All pasta is handmade, they butcher their own meat and it shows in the chefs abilities to create sausages, chops and steaks that could stand alone but are almost always part of a more elaborate plan.

The cocktails are solid and the staff is always attentive. I'm very grateful for this "neighborhood" joint, but Wood deserves to be a destination. The only area for improvement is the wine list, but everything else is so great we just drink cocktails and smile. We are already planning our next visit and dreaming of that damn pasta.

Pictures is a take on saltimbocca with a rich polenta and a mille-feuille for dessert.

We invited good friends from out-of-town to join us at our favorite restaurant. Wood delivered on all fronts—extraordinary food, cocktails, wine, great service and energetic atmosphere.

We shared a number of dishes that featured “ramps”—a seasonal foraged member of the onion family. Biscuits with ramp butter & ham, ramp pesto spaghetti with asparagus, confit duck leg with grilled ramps in a coconut curry, and the crowning glory, filet of beef cooked in pastry (Beef Wellington), with mushroom, ramp and asparagus. The chef is so creative with using these seasonal ingredients—makes choosing from the menu so exciting.

Other standouts were, one of our favorites—steak tartare with house made potato chips, chopped Caesar salad, salmon crudo with a dollop of asparagus ice cream and grilled salmon in a miso butter. The wood oven Turkish lamb flatbread had middle eastern spices, which added a delightful kick.

Our server, Christian and GM Matt made sure we had everything we needed, allowing us to enjoy the food, drinks and conversation. Such a memorable dinner!

We’ve walked past this spot for the past four years and have been meaning to stop in. Wish we would have tried it sooner! Everything from the food to the service (shoutout to Zach) was fantastic. We stopped in for brunch and between the biscuit, beignets, salad layonnaise, huevos rancheros, breakfast pizza and pork fried rice, we couldn’t pick our favorite. Can’t wait to come back and try more!

I've been excited to try this place out. The food was amazing. But it seemed that the place was lacking an actual waiter and the manager was waiting tables. So it felt like the service just wasn't where it should be. Also, if the manager is going to be waiting tables it would be appreciated if they didn't smell strongly of cigarettes right after they come back in from a smoke break.

Delightful Evening with great food and staff. Restaurants right now are struggling with finding enough staff. So, it's incredibly refreshing to go to a restaurant that is not only fully staffed, but staffed with a friendly, knowledgeable and efficient staff. Wood was great last night. And, the chef has created an innovative menu was delicious. Each dish had a surprising twist and a flavor profile that was well balanced. We had the Island Hopper Cocktail, Curried Pumpkin Soup, Wood Grilled Ora King Salmon, Duck L'orange, Crispy Fried Slagel Farm Chicken Leg & Thigh, and the Tropical Profiterole for dessert. All were very good. The restaurant is large with two rooms separated by the large bar. There was a lot of energy and the noise level can occasionally peak. But, that also speaks to the energy of the place, which I really enjoyed.

Great little restaurant. Our waiter made the meal! A group of friends went out to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and he gave us free shots, a slice of cake and took a shot with the bday girl. I dont remember the waiters name but his personality and cheerful attitude made the meal.

Two groups of friends recommended this place and when we got there we could see why. Drinks were lovely and the food was perfect. The Burger 2.0 was great, Coc au Vin was also done up lovely with mushrooms in a very dark sauce. Week day evening was not busy, so I may save this as a conference dining stop.

Food was amazing, very clean, beautiful lighting, calming/energetic vibes. Ordered a small plate and a large plate which added up to $50 and was very filling.
Waiter named Scott had a RBF and kept making comments if we wanted to order more such as, “come on nothing else??” and then would leave with what felt like attitude after we politely said no thank you.

Such a cute restaurant for brunch. I had the espresso martini which was just okay but the food was excellent. I chose the BHC omelette and the potatoes on the side were some of the best I’ve ever had.

The beignets that we started our meal with were also phenomenal with the side of chocolate sauce that they were served with.

My fiancé and i came here for the first time last night and our experience was amazing! 10/10. the vibe of the restaurant is so cute and cozy and the service was wonderful. i was recently diagnosed with a gluten allergy and a mild dairy allergy and they were incredibly accommodating. my fiancé and i both ended up getting the chicken and it was probably the best chicken i have ever had in my life!!! we will definitely be back!

We go to Wood often because the food is imaginative, the drinks delicious, the staff are lovely, and the atmosphere is fun and festive. But this time I was thrilled by the new hand rolled mushroom pasta with beautifully roasted escargot! No rubbery snails here! The duck breast with forbidden rice was fantastic, and the watermelon salad perfectly refreshing! Ooh and the espresso martini is really the best I’ve had! See you soon, Wood, you darling gem!

Very delicious food & drinks. The chicken was tender and the potatoes were crispy and very delicious. The cheese board was also delicious but would have been better if the almomds were mashed to easily spread onto the sourdough bread. I would definitely recommend bringing your bestie, family and a date. It’s pricey but we’ll worth it. Great atmosphere.

To be honest, it wasn’t good as much as it was before, but it was still good. Our waiter was nice, but a food runner with tank top serve our food without saying a word. He just came to our table and drop the plate and go. We were just assuming what it was based on ingredients.

My boyfriend and I had a reservation for 2 on a Tuesday night. We ordered two drinks with our waiter which took about 10 minutes to come. No big deal. We then put in our appetizer order and entrees. It took one hour for an uncooked cheese board. Our waiter didn't check in on us, we had before asked around 30-40 minutes when our cheese board would be ready. He checked and said the chef was making it personally for us, after 40+ minutes of waiting, insinuating the kitchen had just started the appetizer. We waited another 15. The cheese board was good. Maybe small for $23, but good. Our entrees, which we ordered an hour ago, took another 35 minutes at least. My boyfriend didn't like his burger, I liked my chicken. Waiter blamed it on a big party in the other room but didn't check in often. Slow and inconsistent service.

Wonderful experience at Wood last night! If you are looking to spend a relaxed evening with elevated New-American fare, this is the option for you. I would not recommend if you are in a rush and trying to get in-and-out.

Our server Mark was just the right amount of attentive and the atmosphere on the patio l was wonderful. He prefaced by saying their kitchen is short-staffed so it would be easiest to order everything at once and it might take a bit longer for things to come out. I really appreciated how they were up front about this!

My sister asked for them to surprise her with a mocktail and she loved what they delivered. The gazpacho was delicious and had a kick at the end. The mozzarella toast was yummy. The charcuterie board was a fantastic portion for the price and also delicious.

If you have the time to enjoy the evening, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough!

I took my fiancé here for her birthday after a quick google search for nice restaurants nearby, and Wood didn’t disappoint. She ordered the bolognese and wouldn’t stop talking about it for weeks. Seriously, it was a topic of discussion several times following that dinner. Needless to say, we’ve been back so she could experience this top tier meal again. Add this place to your list of future spots to check out, you won’t be disappointed with your entree.

Every time I come here I taste something utterly AMAZING. This time it was the shrimp in this pasta and the escargot. I want to describe exactly how amazing it was but the dishes change pretty frequently and everything is absolutely delicious. All the flavors of every dish compliment each other so well and just bring a sense of nostalgia with every bite. I make sure to come to Wood every time I'm back in town so anxiously waiting until my next visit!

The place is spacious, looks ok. We wanted to sit outside, but it was raining, so we had to sit inside. We were a big group. Two of us ordered chicken, but the waiter came later to tell us they have just one chicken portion. I had to change my order and wasn’t very happy about it, since the chicken was the only thing that I liked from the menu. Luckily, the flat bread that I changed my order to was very, very good! Caloric but tasty, mmmm 😃.

Nice place to grab dinner on a summer evening! Medium-sized outdoor patio has a bit more of a casual vibe where the interior is dark lit and more romantic. Service was prompt and friendly, food was delicious. Well worth the price.

I forgot my card at the restaurant when I left - thankfully I reserved with OpenTable and the manager reached out immediately to let me know. Wood’s staff went out of their way to help me out and get it back, so they have my stamp of approval!

The burger was delicious. However, I ended up standing the whole time. There were three of us and allegedly all the empty tables outside and the empty booths inside were reserved. We ate and left and the tables were still empty and no one could offer and bar stool.

Really spectacular service (Zach was our waiter and he is the absolute BEST - friendly, fun, and attentive throughout the entire night)! Had dinner with friends and tried majority of the menu to share. Food was fabulous! Ask for Zach to be your waiter. You will be glad you did. His recommendations were spot on. He is attentive, funny, and entertaining. Unfortunately, our plans for the evening fell through and he had suggestions for us immediately.

Everything our group tried (cocktails and entrees) was amazing. My pork duo was incredible - though a few bits on the pork were just pure fatbergs which was only such a tragedy because the rest of the pork was so delicious. Nonetheless, not enough to detract from the five star food and five star service.

The service was good, indeed. The food was ok. It looks way more „upscale“ than it tastes. But what anoyed the most was that brutal noise. Guys, have you ever heard of a noise reducing interior? A restaurant that wants to outstand needs comfort. Not just higher prices and nice looking plates.

Zach is the best. Went for small plates and cocktails. They were very tasty, and the outdoor seating has good vibes. My new go to spot in the neighborhood... I feel silly for not trying Wood sooner, and I'm not sure why it isn't rated higher. Will probably be back today to sample more of the menu.
