This place has an amazing staff and great food. We recommend for any event this is the place to do it. Miss Paty the one who is in charge will definitely work with you when it comes to finances, decoration, food and liquor. This place has amazing lighting and music system. We will definitely come back for more events. I my wife and I did our wedding celebration and we had a memorable ceremony here. Thanks so much guys keep up the amazing work!

I loved the artic ambiance. It was quiet with few customers enjoying their meals. Our meals were selected from the dinner menu as they serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which can be ordered anytime of the day. We were served by Miguel, who was graciously patient with us. Our meals were very delicious, hot and fresh. I enjoyed every bite. This is a must visit restaurant.

My husband order a pasta, wasn’t good at all. The sauce was water down. He try to give the food a chance but after couple bites it was a no go. We had to call the serve multiple times. When I finally approach the server about the food, she said there was nothing they could do because he ate half of the plate. I explain it what my husband thought about the food, if we could get something he will eat and this was our first time here. Still said nothing could be done, then ask to speak with the manager. He also wants to say that since he ate half of the plate they couldn’t make something else or even remove it from our check. What kind of customer service is that. I would never ever come again. So much for being family friendly and customer service like. I’m not one to do these reviews and all but this definitely needed to be said.

Had a baby shower there and everything came out perfect. Service was fantastic and everything was decorated exactly how we wanted it. It’ a banquet rental that you literally just walk into and everything is ready. The food was great too! Highly recommend! Here are the pictures of what we walked into. Absolutely beautiful.

This place has a great menu! This place has sort of a Western theme to it. I'd recommend this place because the food was good and the service was just as good. I had the green chilaquiles, and they were delightful! Plenty of parking.

Absolutely horrible. We were there for lunch and had a hard time locating anyone to seat us--had to walk back to the kitchen to get their attention. We were the only customers there. The breakfast-type food seemed to be pre-made from the day before and simply warmed up. I brought leftovers home and ended up throwing them out because everything had a plastic-chemical smell and taste.

Not recommended. The main reason for choosing it was the parking lot but you're not allowed to use it for parties. Your party of 100 people is only supposed to use the few parking spaces on the side of the restaurant. We specified the two beers we wanted on draft at the tasting and upon arrival at event we were told they don't have that beer. We were celebrating a birthday and that was the person's specific request. We paid for buffet and were told that it's about 1.5 to 2 hours. The food ran out before 45 minutes and they didn't refill until we insisted. We had less than a hundred people show and there was no reason for there to be empty trays of food. And finally get it in writing how long the bar will be open. They told us it would be closed for 1 hour but that night specified that they don't reopen until the food is put away. So they shorted us on the 5 hours of bar we paid for.

I went as a first time... curious as to its menu and atmosphere... for future reference... a Friday afternoon... from the beginning your hostess was swift and polite...
My order was taken within minutes of sitting... when my beer arrived... it was the wrong one... the server with much politeness quickly returned with the right one...
Thruout my stay I received courteous attention...
A good meal and afternoon indeed...
PS I recommend the spaghetti and meatballs...

My husband and I used Red Barrel for our baby shower and it was lovely! Paty was so informative and flexible. She really helped my vision come to life. She was easy to communicate throughout the process, last- minute, and the day of. I did a ton of random internet research to find a venue in Chicago that was aesthetic, had decent parking, big enough (we had about 80 people), and not insanely priced and Red Barrel checked all the boxes.
One thing that was a little confusing at first - there's a parking lot across the street with a Red Barrel sign but apparently you can't park there; however, on the day of the event, the staff made sure to inform our guests so there were no issues. Street parking in the area is decent!

Spent $220 on four people. Two had drink, I had a way over priced T-bone that wasn’t even cooked on a grill. App of calamari was so small for the $18 they charged First and last time there! Waste of money in my opinion!

Came here as a kid, remember playing Crusin USA. Have not been back since it was the newest owners but have to say not bad! Server recommended the Smoked Salmon Bruscetta and it was really good! Seem to have a lot going on the menu. Had a Cuban Panini which was a different take on the sandwich but really good! Interior and exterior still seems familiar. I'm a geek for the Door stuff...happy to see it is still here!!

True blooded Texan here, wasn't sure what to expect ordering a steak this far north of home. Gotta say, that was a damn good proper steak, perfect cook on it. You know somethin's tasting right when you start dragging them potatoes through that pool of steak juices.

Servers and hostess were professional and accommodating. Service was excellent but the food was not well prepared. Side salads were tiny and looked like something you would get at a gas station. I ordered the t-bone steak medium rare with broccoli. Steak was well done and the horseradish crust was nearly as thick as the steak. It was chewy and I took one bite. Broccoli was overcooked and mushy. My wife got the chicken cordon blue and she was satisfied but her veggies were overcooked as well. They did take my steak off the bill but I didn't order anything else as I was not impressed. They might need to hire a new chef.

What a disappointment. First, they didn’t have burgers available that day. How is that possible? Go to jewel and buy what you need to get through the day. One of the highlights of a place like that, and usually one of the only redeeming qualities, are the hamburgers! The calamari… wow… $17 for 14 small, chewy calamari rings! Thats about $1.22 per piece of calamari! Shameful. Popcorn shrimp… about 15 50 count shrimp with the breading glooping off them from the sauce… on a bed of soggy fries… that was $13. The Mahi, which is actually called Mahi-Mahi I believe shouldn’t be cooked well done, and I immediately sent it back. To get something quick so I could actually eat with my family, I settled on the ravioli with marinara and it was nothing special. Obviously from frozen products and nothing made in house; which is fine if reasonably priced. And no cheese, no bread, no salad… seriously, to get your money’s worth for a decent meal of pasta and more, go to the Olive Garden. Also ordered was the cod, again, small and over priced. I mean seriously, the scant vegetables served with it are a joke, why are they trying to save on the yellow squash!? Two paper thin slices of squash and 4 thin and over cooked pieces of asparagus? The 14oz steak was ordered too… thin and $37!!! This on 8 stalks of thin, over cooked asparagus. Other things of note… waited 20 minutes for my beer and had to ask twice. Still, service was satisfactory but we were the servers only table. Oh, and it’s 20% gratuity on groups of 4 or more! It’s in tiny red letters on the menu if you’re looking for it. If I was the host of this meal, I would have walked out and not paid a dime for any of this slop. A weak, weak showing from a restaurant that was, over 20 years ago, a place for great bar food. Now, I don’t know what the heck it is, but it does look like a lumberjack threw-up in there, so there’s that. The space is big, clean, and bright; but there were only about 10 people in there when we were there. So, Vazquez brothers, if you’re reading this, I’m amazed you’re still open at all and my experience was poor, to say the least. Good luck!

My husband Rack of lamb was supposed to be mediun well and they way over cooked it to the point that the bone was like charcoal,also we order a blue cheese burger mediun well and also over cooked. we got 2 Raspberry Fusion Martini they look pretty sad.I don't mind paying a 35$ dishes if it cook to what I asked for

The food was top shelf, the service was fabulous - the wait staff very attentive - we'll definitely return! Be sure to try the chicken marsala and/or porterhouse pork chop. Just around the corner from Midway airport, family owned and operated.

The only reason I’m not giving them the 5 starts is because I think they should offer some side dish or some other options like bread to go with the meals. You have to purchase something to complete the meal. The food was good, the customer service was good too. Was my first time trying this place, I might go back.

I just want to say this is one my most favorite places to come eat. First of the service is great, the food is amazing soooo good I always get the fried calamari/grilled taste very good as well .. I also get the lamb chops, pasta primavera, let’s not forget the Broiled Cedar pink salmon you have to have !!! The drink omg soo fire 🔥 as well
I don’t drink no more but the drinks are highly recommended from me I’ve had the La Latina/Sunset/Pineapple mimosas/Don Julio Reposado shots. But I am very proud and happy customer. I love the energy it’s a perfect place to chill and hang out at the bar/ or to go with family and friends or with just your partner. Very beautiful inside and clean . 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My family's visit here was for a birthday celebration. The staff and service were great. The filet minon when was a bit over cooked when ordered medium rare other than that food was exceptional. I recommend you try the lobster ravioli, the vodka sauce used in this dish was delicious. As for the ambiance, it was a bit too dark, additional lightning in the dinning area would be nice. I look forward to revisiting and trying their Chicken Cordon Bleu.

I selected this place for my wedding venue because of the food. Glad to say that was on point. Sadly, the decorations were wrong and the Dj decided to play karaoke at our wedding. He was given a playlist that was meticulously arranged. Had to remind him to stay on track at least 4 times. Afterwards we spoke to Patty….the worse people’s skills to address a concern.
She is very unprofessional and combative. I asked to speak to the supervisor and responded with “I know they will do nothing about this, they are busy.” It’s disheartening to be treated with such dismissive attitude. Didn’t let us talk, abruptly interrupted our thoughts with past experiences.

On the other hand, Citlali, an owner, called me back, apologized, and asked for another opportunity.

As a response to your response. I appreciate your time. As for the decorations, Patty (the person in charge of finalizing our event's details) was frequently not available: this includes payment. My husband and I had to call several times to make an appointment with her. The linenens were used from the previous event, not the colors we selected.

As for the DJ, Cesar was highly recommended. I'm not sure if the recordings are considered invasion of privacy, given that you could hear our interaction. This being the case, I'd like to meet with you directly. Either way, he was given the music with ample time to download for our event. I keep thinking of how special our music is to us and have that taken. This can not be recovered, even if we made the event again....he had ONE JOB!!!!

You forgot to mention the hostes, Patty. The way she has treated customers is not good promotion for your family business. You should invest in Customer Relations trainings, if she continues to be a representative at Red Barrel.

Lugar muy llamativo en Archer avenue, por su diseño como una enorme cabaña, con un barril cervecero en la fachada.

Sumamente amables, la mesera que me atendió hablaba perfecto español.

La tirada es la abundancia. El Red Barrel Sampler, por 15 dólares te dan dos huevos al gusto, bastantes papás Hashed Brown, dos rebanadas de tocino bien dorado, una salchicha de cerdo ahumada, jamón ahumado grueso, y en plato aparte dos hotcakes de tamaño mediano, con jarabe de maple caliente. Con eso, un café exprés, y abundante agua de la jarra de cortesía, yo salí hecho un barril.

Fue mi única comida del día, no por frugal sino por lo generoso del asunto.

Siendo sábado, la parte del Dining Hall, que puedes rentar para eventos, ofrece buffet, y sólo sé que había muuuchas personas, así que debe ser bastante bueno.

On Saturday, November 11, my daughter and her fiancé celebrated their civil marriage dinner at the Red Barrel Restaurant, and it was an excellent experience, they offered us the best of service, Christian was in charge of serving us and both he and his team made us very happy, all the guests enjoyed the dinner, the food was exquisitely delicious, we had the best drinks, the couple loved the decoration, in short I have no words to thank them for all their excellent service, they made our night of celebration the best best of experiences, definitely 💯% recommended.

Was there for my birthday. For starters we ordered agua chiles, then I had a NY steak, my son had a filet mignon, and his girlfriend had bbq ribs. Everything was delicious. Had been there several times for breakfast, but it was our first time having dinner, will definitely not be our last. Not to mention the service was excellent.

Now adding some updates in my las visits this guy at the bar. Don't even care to remember his name needs to be more friendly with customers when serving drinks request. More than once being there me and my wife it's just like he doesn't like the serving job he's doing he would take you order but you can actually feel like he's just not in the right place. First of all the waitress was great! I ordered chicken marsala. When it arrived at the table I tasted it it was so salty and it didn't taste at all like marsala. It looked like marsala but whatever they added to it whether it was some type of beef gravy or stock or something whatever they put in there is all it tasted like I did not taste Marsala wine at all and that's supposed to be the main flavor that you taste. Chicken marsala is all about the Marsala wine reduction also the chicken was way overdone it was kind of stringy and dry. The waitress suggested me order something else so I just ordered a salad at $9 on the menu it says iceberg lettuce tomato and cucumber with Green Goddess dressing. It came out with chicken on it. I didn't order it with chicken so I just took it off and left it on the side. I also ordered creme brulee. It was decent but it was too warm. Creme brulee should be chilled with granular sugar on top add toasted the sugar with a torch until it becomes a caramelized sugar coating. On top of that they put powdered sugar. It didn't ruin it. But every time I want to take a bite I inhaled powdered sugar. It already has sugar on top. It doesn't need powdered sugar on top of regular sugar! I'd likely will not go back again because the food was disappointing if you're going to make chicken marsala learn how to make it properly. And make it taste like marsala. And if you do creme brulee don't put powdered sugar on it. And one more thing, don't add chicken to something if it doesn't come on it and if it comes on it have it say on the menu. What if I was a vegetarian? Now here's the thing I'm most disappointed in. I did not eat the chicken marsala and send it back because it doesn't taste like marsala. Instead I ordered a $9 salad and creme brulee with $7. That's $16 total. The waitress said the creme brulee is on the house. But my check was $22? How is that even possible. How is nine dollars come out to $22? Well let me explain my receipt still says it had chicken marsala which is 19.99. So basically they charged me for the Masala and didn't charge me for anything else. I don't like that that they do business like that

Delicious rosemary fries. House burger is really good. Nice restaurant, friendly staff. My husband and I went there on our first date in 1976 and loving going back. Asset to the neighborhood!

I have to say, we were pleasantly surprised by this place. In the area for a volleyball tournament, we decided on this place based on the reviews and menu. I hesitantly ordered the ribs despite being a diva of these preferring falling off bone tenderness. They did not disappoint. The only thing was I did ask for extra BBQ sauce to dip. The drinks were too good considering I was driving. The Summer Oldfashion for those liking these is highly recommended. My lady had the Love Potion that exploded with flavor. I won't touch any ceviche with a 10 foot pole but it was also a big hit at the table. Add on exceptional service and a sky light show of planes flying just overhead as they came in for landings, we had ourselves a great dinner. We highly recommend.

The service was poor. We had a party of seven and waited for over an hour to get appetizers, then dinner came almost 30 minutes later. I complained to the waitress and she had someone from her staff (supervisor) come over to apologize for the long wait due to shortage of cooks in the kitchen. I didn’t get to enjoy my time because I was upset at the long wait. It was my friends birthday and she seemed to be in a happy mood I didn’t want to ruin the moment otherwise, I would have left the restaurant as everyone else around us got served in a timely manner. When the check came, we weren’t even given a discount!!! A reputable establishment would have at least offered that or given us free drinks or something for our inconvenience! Will not be going there again!

It is a red barrel, one thing I do want to mention is that my brother thought it would be funny if he roofied an employee l, needless to say, he wasn't feeling so good. But other than that it was good

Yesterday I was there for the first time and I got to said I was very disappointed.
1.all the tables were full of dirty plates.
2.we wait for 20 min o more and nobody came to take care of us
3.the place is really cold they need to do something about it. we ended up leaving, because nobody came to take care of us.

Wow ladies and gentlemen the red barrel blew my mind of course my first time but been passing this hidden jem all my I ife under new management. What can I say the food was simply amazing five stars all around my server Alexis was fantastic staff was on point my food came out right on time, drinks were fantastic for a great price going to recommend my new favorite spot to everyone I know highly recommend. No doubt what so ever I will be coming back as a regular. thanks again Red Barrel #1
