Yesterday evening, my wife and I ate here for the first time. I was blown away! The double turkey burger with cheese EXCEEDED my expectations. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her single- patty beef burger with cheese, as well. I SWEAR this is the BEST darn burger joint in Chi-Town! HANDS DOWN! The fries were on point, and the customer service was wonderful. I can’t wait to go back! A positive “Black”experience.🙂

Although this was one of my favorite places to eat. I have had some bad experiences. I have phone in and placed orders for pick up to find out when I get there they have no clue of the order placed. Unfortunately I can’t return and I will tell my friends and family to do the same.

I don't leave reviews very often, but this was literally the best burger I have ever had (I ordered a bacon double cheeseburger). The fries were also on point, just the right amount of crunch and salt. It took about 10 minutes for my food to be ready, but it was worth every second of my wait. Definitely higher price than most burger joints, but again it was worth every penny. Super friendly staff. Highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone that likes burgers.

I really like this place, they have very good tasty burgers that won't disappoint. Fresh cut fires are good as well. If you're a burger lover and looking for a quality burger with great taste don't sleep on this place, I only wish they had later hours they close at 7 pm and I tend to be a late diner so I don't get to eat here that often.

I recently visited That's a Burger on the Southside and was thoroughly impressed with their offerings. The vibrant graffiti on the wall added a unique and artistic touch to the overall atmosphere, enhancing the dining experience. One intriguing aspect was the mention of their secret BBQ sauces—I’m really curious to know more about them and hope to try them on my next visit.

The only downside is their limited hours; it seems like they’re never open when I want to go back. Despite this, if you manage to catch them open, it’s definitely worth a visit for a fantastic burger experience.

Great service and delicious burger...comes with grilled or raw onions at no extra cost. I like the kids turkey burger (it's a normal size) but the beef burger is said to be good. It's a smashed burger. The regular burgers are huge that's why I get the kids version for $6. And all sandwiches come with hand cut fries!

The staff is friendly and your business feels appreciated.

The food is a amazing I ordered a Turkey single cheese lover for 12.00 was over charged for cheese spoke with manager and she said the turkey cheese lover don't come with cheese which is extremely weird. Manager and cashier had the nerve to get attitudes because I asked why is it called a cheese burger and if I asked what cheese come on the burger she said pick two so I did and was charged.....

I found this place on Google and read through the reviews. I went with my co-workers for lunch and I am extremely amazed at the quality of these burgers. First of all, they're HUGE. Secondly, the turkey is very well-seasoned. Lastly, the fried green tomatoes are a hit. We'll be back!

The best burgers I’ve tasted in a while! Turkey Burger full of flavor! Beef Burger, super fresh, juicy and flavorful! Fries… Bomb! Onion Rings… Fye! Everything was a HITT! They did not miss! I moved over here a while ago and people always ask me, did I eat here? And I would always say no, they never open. Then one day, they were! And I’m so glad to see more quality food from a Black owned Establishment in OUR neighborhood! Customer service was chill and accommodating, they said 20 minutes for my large order and it was ready in a little less than. Keep it Up!

My son bought me a turkey burger and the meat was so thin and dry. A half slice of lettuce and a smidgen of a tomato slice. They use to be thick and juicy. Not worth the price. I would do better buying frozen Geneo turkey burger and cook it myself. I'm done with "That Use To Be a Burger."

They take a while to make food but it's more than worth it. I've tried only 2 burgers on the menu but it's only because I enjoy them. I would suggest customizing your food to your own taste because the possibilities are endless. The service is great as well. Just order early.

My first time but definitely not my last, I ordered the double turkey burger. Portion size of the burger was more than worth the price. The burger was seasoned and juicy bun was nice and soft, mild sauce was a delight.

Customer service means everything to me. I have been a patron since the original location and ownership. Most recently I phoned an order in and it took an extremely long time to get my food. The owner was present and informed me I could get a free meal on my next visit. Due to the location not being convenient it took me over 5 weeks to return. Aside from a small hiccup when I asked for the free meal, I did in fact receive it and the okra that was missing from the original order. Hats off to going above and beyond for your customers. Food is still delicious.

I wanted to make sure that I leave a review for you guys about that's a burger I am very familiar with that's a burger when they had this location before on 71st Street I was patiently waiting for them to open up this location on Stony Island since then I have told others about this location and the quality of the food so let me just explain when I say quality did you guys know that they hand make every single burger and a hand cut the potatoes to make the fries they care to go that extra mile to make sure they are delivering world class customer service I am a fan of the veggie burger and I recently visited them this past Saturday and I'll pick my father up a turkey burger with grilled onions cheese and ketchup and mustard as well as myself I enjoyed the veggie burger everything was on my veggie burger except cheese I unfortunately can I do dairy so I placed my order and I waited 20 minutes which I didn't mind because you have to be patient when it comes to free quality and after the 20 minutes which seem like a few seconds you can see why they put nothing but love in their food and everything is cooked to perfection you can literally look through the window and see your food being prepared the cuts are wearing plastic gloves and plastic hair nets for anyone that's in the South Shore Community and you happen to have a craving for a delicious turkey burger / veggie burger oh don't even give me started on a salmon burger and a turkey chili yum right in this review makes me want to call right now but I talk too much in this review but don't take my word for it just take time out and hop in your car and drive over there and you will see an experience the overall goodness of their food please people less support black businesses so we can make sure they are around for decades this is my review I hope this review make you guys hungry so stop reading this and head over to that's a Burger I appreciate you guys for reading and following me

The turkey burgers are always fire! I've never ordered anything else. Never felt a reason to order anything else. These are granny made turkey burgers, hand packed, perfectly seasoned and the kind of messy toppings you want to make it virtually impossible to eat in the car. Occasionally I'll get onion rings which are also really good, but they only give you like 5. The burger comes with fries, so the o-rings are a bonus. The atmosphere is not all important. These are not fast food, but made to order food and you pay for the food! No nonsense, straightforward fare. Do not come here to play around!

Can somebody anybody tell me where Helen and her husband are at? This place has not been the same since they left. I placed a call in order only to get there and wait an extra 15 minutes for some cold burnt fries. I’m not even going to say what I want to about the burger… if I wasn’t in a rush I would’ve taken my entire order back. I’m highly disappointed.. Helen would’ve never did this to me

What happen to that lady & her husband and who did she leave in charge it was about six people sitting in there "for what" that hamburger that's not that's a Burger. The burger is horrible and their fries where dark because of the grease it was dirty the fries were brown and dark brown horrible. My niece bought a burger too and it had too much salt on her burger she took it back the next day. They need to close down so they won't mess up these people burgers there's was delicious.

It's alright. I always get the turkey burger. My complaint would be that they use turkey patties instead of grinding up the turkey ground meat. But I would definitely visit them again because there not to many options for a turkey burger in this area. Fries are good and hot. They also have vegetarian options as well

Allow me to start by saying that years ago this place was a tasty treasure. There was a wait time but once you tastes your food you quickly appreciated the time and attention to details. TODAY is truly a new day and not in a good way. I've been to the Stony location twice (stayed in the 71st street location). A week & half ago I called in two orders and told about 25 minutes. I waited another 10 minutes in the parking lot before going in. I was told waiting for my fries. I had a seat and waited another 20 minutes before being called to window to pickup order. The order wasn't mine and then I was asked what was my order and the young lady asked for receipt. Somehow my order was never prepared. Ashley was very professional & accommodating....thank you Ashley but at that point wasn't interested in waiting for another order. I went back last Thursday and placed 2 orders. Yes I received my food; but I'll just end by saying for me That's A Burger....That's A Wrap.

The turkey burger is the best I've ever had! They have reopened under new management. Kinda salty so request "lightly seasoned." Lunch special til 2:00 Tues-Thurs includes a drink. Be advised that if you call ahead you will still have to wait a bit.

The double cheeseburger comes with a dinky order of fries and is $15 bucks.
The burger is easily 2x the size of 5guys.
The 5guys burger and fries is the same price but this place gives you a way bigger burger.
If they gave you the same amount of fries as the small fries at 5guys this would be the best burger spot in the city IMO.
Schoops is the only spot with a compatible burger thats like $10 with tax and a decent amount of fries thats a extra charge.
Schoops is probably more economical but its a longer drive from my house.

After waiting 25 minutes my number was called. I checked my burger once in my vehicle . It was delivered as expected; however, the fries were limp & cold! I should have left when the chili was NOT available today!

Consistent is key. This is a spot that has lacked being consistent with the quality of food they prepare for you. I'm going to give them a thumbs up because they are definitely one of the best places to get a turkey burger from. I know because before it was popular back in the late 90's I started eating turkey everything. I have mastered cooking ground turkey. I have had people who said they hated turkey burgers eat my turkey burgers and fell in love with the way I prepare it. I might open up my own turkey burger spot one day. But this spot needs to be more consistent with the way they prepare there burgers and work on those fries as well. The last time I ordered food from That's a burger, fries were not good and burger needed a little more attention in preparation.

Still amazing. Got turkey burger with fries and bacon. Was just like I remember from when they were on 71st. Very good

This is one of my favorite burger spots I hadn't Bern there because it would take 45 minutes to an hour fir your order and you couldn't call in. I decided to give them a call and guess what?? They took my order over the phone & it took approximately 20-25 minutes for my order. I just knew that the burgers were not going to be as good as I remembered bcuz it was a much you get staff...IT WAS DELICIOUS!!. Same great taste 👌 Easy checkout and friendly customer service. The store was clean also. Looks like I will start back to frequent this restaurant again.
