The atmosphere is wonderful. Service was good. To be fair, I was here for lunch, so it was slow, but the service was in point. Portions are HUGE! Had lunch and enough leftovers for dinner. Nice place for a first date or family dinner. Price was higher than I would like, but it was worth it on portions alone. Check it out!

Return visit. Food was delicious, service very good. Only downside was the Mai Tai I ordered was overly boozy and just not drinkable. Server at first wasn't sure they could make it, so just make sure the bartender is skilled. Otherwise wonderful.

First time here in a very long time. Everything was excellent, and the service was phenomenal. I'm definitely going to return. Halibut was cooked to perfection.

Very nice place. The gnocchi baked with cheese was excellent and really enjoyed it. The chicken picata and vesuvio potatoes we average. Could have used more flavor. More lemon on the chicken and more garlic on the potatoes. The bread was really good and fresh. I will come back and try other items. Overall it was a great experience. Highly recommend the gnocchi.

The service was great it was our first time dining in. The food was a 3 out of 5 due to my meal being served cold. My daughter enjoyed her spaghetti and meatballs. We never received our calamari soooo no comment. But due to the nice waiter, I'll give this place another try fingers 🤞🏽

I really enjoyed the ambience and food from this place . Traditional old fashioned Italian dining . Got the Cheese Tortellini with the marinara sauce and the Manicotti. But the best dish was definitely the Sausage Franconello . That dish really stood out to us the sausage was definitely homemade and had a lot of flavor . As a side we decided to get the Vezuio Potato’s I felt the sauce to that could have used a little bit more flavor but still very good . Dessert was pretty good too got the Pistachio Copa .

Our favorite neighborhood “joint” for excellent Italian cuisine. First time trying the chop salad and was not disappointed, but if you are not a fan of olives, tell them to hold off. The only issue is it gets loud and you sometimes have to speak loud to be heard at your table. Otherwise enjoy!! Oh and by the way if you are hungry, order the chicken Parmesan - HUGE portion.

I dine here once a week & have been enjoying this restaurant since it opened. The food is exquisite & everything is incredibly fresh. Everyone is incredibly attentive, & the servers are amazing! From the moment they take your reservation until the moment you leave, they take care of you. Parking: Complimentary valet parking on Friday, Saturday & Sunday with a very attentive, friendly attendant. Free parking in the parking lot every other day.

Best gnocchi I ve had in years. Atmosphere is dark with black furniture. Lighting is dim. I wish I had my readers as it was almost impossible to read menu. Had to use flashlight from my phone. House Chianti was very good. Definitely go back.

Franconellos service and food is supurb. I live in MD and needed to plan a lunch/dinner after a funeral in Chicago. Marcia was very friendly and accomodating for helping me coordinate 13-20 people with a timeframe between 2:30 - 4:00. The family style meal and staff was excellent. Thank you for accomodating my family.

Our server was very serious, hardly came to check on us. Then, when it came time to pay, she lost my credit card. Instead of informing me or letting me know, I had to ask because it was taking so long. I just think she couldve been a lot friendlier, specially working as a server.

The potatoes, sausage, and grilled green peppers were tasteless, no flavor at all. Sauteed garlic spinach, (again) bland and unable to taste the Garlic? Mediterranean flat bread was good and so was the Martini. The place is EXTREMELY dark too! Would we try it again (maybe)???

Some of the best Italian food you will get on the far southside of Chicago. This is an old school restaurant. Portion sizes are huge. Two people could easily share the Chicken Parm and possibly have leftovers. Drinks are fairly priced and happy hour in the summertime cant be beat. Highly recommend a visit and bring your appetite. Parking: They do offer valet but you can also park on Western.

This was a birthday celebration and it was awesome. The service, food and ambience of Franconello is great. The space is intimate. The food is delicious. The servers are attentive, pleasant and professional. Oh did I mention the food is fresh and hot!! Dietary restrictions: Very accommodating for those with food allergies.

I have been coming to this restaurant for a cpl of years now. The food was very good and for what they charge it should be good! I ordered from this restaurant at least once a week and spend $40 plus. I recently bought food and it was horrible simply horrible!! I was very shocked by the customer service I received from the restaurant when I called to let them know. Yesterday I spoke to Anthony who was very nice and understanding and told me he would have the manager Marsha call me back. Well.. this is the second day and no Marsha! I called today and spoke to Mary who was very rude!! No worries though I will not be back because as a customer who has a legitimate complaint about something that they re paying for and the Manager of all ppl can t return phone call to a customer I warn you DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY HERE WHEN YOU INCOUNTER A PROBLEM THE MANAGER MARSHA WILL NOT CALL YOU BACK AND YOU WILL SPEAK TO VERY RUDE PPL LIKE MARY!! I came in 1/09/24 for a business meeting. The food was very good, and our specific waitress was good, however when we tried to order dessert around 8:45pm we were informed that the kitchen was closed and that the restaurant would actually be closing at 9:00pm, a full hour earlier than the posted hours on their website and Google. No one informed us of this when we were sat, and then we were subject to multiple people lightly indicating that they wanted us to leave as soon as possible. The apology of our waitress is the ONLY reason service is getting 3 stars. When ended up going to Barracos for dessert and to leisurely finish our conversation.

I owed my High School Counselor a spaghetti date. Even though I wanted to take her to Franconello we decided to enjoy lunch at her house. Instead of using a delivery service, I drove to Beverly to pick up the food. I had never heard of this restaurant, but I trusted the reviews. The restaurant opened at 11AM, and I waited in the parking lot until I saw someone unlock the door. I ordered spaghetti with and without meatballs, sauteed spinach, and salad. The entire meal was freshly prepared. I waited 25 minutes. The portions are large. We enjoyed the spaghetti with meatballs, Italian bread, and salad. I took the spaghetti without meatballs and spinach home. I shared the meal with my sister. The leftovers were just as good the next day. I look forward to dining at Franconello. Although I loved the holiday decorations, I will return before Christmas 2024.

Old school vibe. Great quality & atmosphere. Always interesting specials. Update from previous review. I never thought we would have a bad experience at Franconellos, but last night, Christmas Eve, it was horrendous. We had reservations at 7:00, and there was at first, expected delays because of the holiday. Food delivery service took forever. I ordered fish stew with linguine but did not get linguine, I got garlic bread. After waiting forever, I decided just to accept it. As we started to eat, Marsha yells across the dining room that we closed a half hour ago. At that point, they turned off music and staff started their closing procedures. My daughter and wife were upset and just decided to get theirs boxed and leave. As loyal customers, weve never had to valet park our car. Last night, there were 6-8 open spaces but we were stopped for mandatory valet parking. Totally unnecessary. Weve always recommended and bought gift cards, but I think were going to rethink that.

Took the family here, since we live in Beverly, we dont eat much Italian food, but finally decided to give it a try,. We ordered the Ceasar salad, it was delicious and not drenched with dressing, the chicken Alfredo was to die for, thick Alfredo noodles, ceamy but not full of butter. The meatballs were a nice big size, and seasoned well, I ordered three. The pasta in vodka sauce and parsley was delicious also, and the kiddo had regulat spaghetti with pasta sauce, bread was good to. Large portions, leftovers were great. Quiet family environment. Parking at Beverley Bank is convenient too! Took off one star because the desserts werent that great.

Ordered lunch from them the other day and WOW that was truly amazing!! Ordered the backed gnocchi with arbitra and it was delicious! Also, the portion was so big I ate it for 2 additional meals. Franconellos supports our nonprofit organization throughout the years and we will continue to support them in return. Fantastic guys!

This was the first time I had been there since the remodeling. It is very nice!!! The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is that of a restaurant in Downtown Chicago. My friends and I sat on the patio area on the second floor and I must say it was a pleasant experience. I would definitely come back here I had a wonderful time and the food was delicious.

I love this place, and lucky for me its right in my neighborhood. Old-school independently-owned restaraunt vibes...Ive gone plenty of times and its always the same bartender, host, server, etc. Food is incredible, my favorite was probably this pasta dish featured here (forget the name) or the winter salad, which is mixed greens, goat cheese, pear, balsamic, candied nuts...just incredible. Not a huge drinker but they have a full bar which you can also sit at if you want (tvs are there for sports, etc). Despite the TVs in the bar it still retains a very posh and intimate atmosphere. My only advice is bring your wallet and a sweater in case you get cold -- they keep it nice and cool for the workers who are always busting their butts while still remaining smiling and friendly. Great dinner shared with my granddaughter...tortellini great and chicken marsala flavor rich and delicious sauce but chicken not tender enough to cut with a fork. Food price reasonable but watch out for $16 glass of wine. Reservations on line did not allow upstairs but saw people going up as we were leaving. Place filled up quickly for a Monday night. Other menu items I would like to try and will go back.

Have been meaning to stop by this place for a while, and got a chance the other day. Food was well prepared and very tasty, but it did take a rather long time to get it, despite the fact that the place was half empty. Sorely lacking in service. Busy place and above average food...likely best Italian on the south side. 30 minutes to order & 75 for food delivery. Saw the service staff on 3 occasions and pretty much ignored the remainder of the evening...including refills and a forgotten dish. Recommend but be prepared.

According to what songs they liked music should never drown people out everyone was screaming to just talk to each other. This never happened before but this time it was very irritating.

The staff was absolutely fantastic. Very attentive, very friendly, very fast. Its a bit loud in there so if you have trouble with hearing folks while in a noisy environment keep that in mind. Absolutely fantastic experience. This spot is a favorite for local friends of mine and I can see why.

We were among the first group to use the upstairs. It was lovely in the evening rain. As always, good food, great service. Note: There is only one bathroom upstairs and no elevator, so ask to be seated downstairs if those are concerns.

I had the Chicken Picata it was pretty good, but I thought it was not as good as I have had before at the same restaurant. I am not sure why, but it was not the same as 3 weeks ago.

It is not like the old Franconello. It is dark inside. It was difficult to read the small red and black font on the menu. I viewed the menu on my phone the day before so I already knew what I wanted to order. The pasta salad and dessert was good. I probably will not be going back anytime soon.

My only complaint is the menu small writing and its dark inside so its hard to see. I would suggest either some brighter lights or larger print. The food and service was really good. Expect to spend $$ but the spend as worth it. The staff are very professional. My family had different items and everything was good.

It was a funeral luncheon. The food was served family style. The amount served was plenitful and excellent. Their service was excellent and they even helped one of our elderly gentlemen to the washroom, since he had a hard time seeing.

Wife had the chiken marsala she said it was ok; precooked chiken with heated up sauce poured on it. I had the ravioli with scallops; ravioli was ok and the scallops were little three eights in diameter balls with no flavor. Best part of the meal was the spumoni desert. One glass of wine for the wife and bill before tip was $113.00. And it was loud in there.

Old school Italian American restaurant. Dark and quiet with a traditional menu. If youre looking for a familiar atmosphere and menu, its a great place to go.

My martini, Bleu cheese olives - slightly dirty - very dry, was great. My friends beet salad was good and huge. My chopped salad, again huge, was great. Filet Mignon was good, well seasoned and rare. The Limoncello cleared my palate. The service , I was there at opening, was wonderful. Full when I left and full for the rest of the day. Yes, I had to doggie bag the salad and entree.

Stopped for drinks, no food. Raul our bartender was attentive and funny. Fresh baked bread delivered even though we werent eating.
