Spacious cantina featuring large portions of classic Mexican fare, margaritas & outdoor seating.
Stopped in for a great lunch date and really enjoyed their indoor patio. Although this was a warm February day, the indoor patio still felt comfortable. This was my first time here, so I decided to try a steak taco on flour shell, al pastor taco on corn shell, and a beef tostada. None disappointed, the beef meat won as my favorite meat due to the superb seasoning. A bonus was their table tortilla chips were very warm, fresh and crispy which always makes for a better meal. The horchata drink was fresh and delicious too. I had great service and will definitely be back.

I love that they have a lunch menu! Smaller portions for lower prices and perfect for lunch. Tortilla chips are always amazing, margaritas also fantastic. Last few times food has been great but it can be inconsistent and have had occasional bland food. Recently has been better though. The patio is awesome-it’s covered and has windows so it doesn’t have to be 100% open. Also have umbrellas so you don’t melt in the sun.

The food was okay. The rice was crunchy and flavorless. We ordered the parrillada but there was barely any chicken or steak in it and the pieces that were in the parrillada were tiny. Literally TINY. It was mainly just vegetables. Also not much flavor. I was pretty disappointed. Had to dig in just to find the smallest pieces of chicken and meat. The service was great though. Kind staff.

We visited today for dinner and ordered the steak taco plate with rice and beans. While eating the rice, I nearly broke a tooth on a rock. I informed the waiter, who said they would notify the manager. I expected a proper apology, but instead, we were given a $3 discount. This was incredibly disappointing and showed the worst customer service I've ever experienced.

This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants! The food is always super delicious and the service is pretty good as well. I’m not sure how authentic this place is but it seriously never disappoints. The suizas enchiladas are great and the pollo carbone is unmatched. It’s a little tacky inside but it’s very homey.

The food was ok, but they really need to work on their portions. We ordered a parillada that supposedly serves 2-4 people. It was supposed to have steak, chicken, shrimp and chorizo. It was literally all onions and bell pepper and very little and also super small cuts of the meat! Absolutely not for more than 2 people at all. The ceviche tostadas had no flavor at all. Rice and beans were meh. The servers were nice and attentive, but the food could use some more flavor and the parrillada meat portions should definitely be improved even if they bump the price up is fine just add more meat. I am Mexican and know a thing or two about authentic Mexican food flavor so I'm not being mean I'm just being honest, flavor can improve.

I ordered takeout from La Fiesta for the first time this past Friday evening. I thought my order was simple, a taco dinner with one additional taco. 2 steak, 1!chicken, and 1 shrimp on flour and crispy shells. The place is always packed so I anticipated the food would be outstanding.
The cashier struggled to enter my order and was actually in training. The more experienced cashier understood my order so I thought ok, my order should be correct right.
WRONG…. I get home to find only four tacos and no refried beans & rice which I paid for. After all a taco dinner comes with rice & beans.
The shrimp taco had more lettuce than anything else and were not seasoned. The steak tacos had a good cook on the meat, but each of the tacos lacked seasoning and had absolutely NO flavor. Everything was bland, and the tacos lacked the love. I’m not sure what the red sauce they plentifully provided but it taste like it came straight out of a can. It’s okay to zhuzh up the food with salt, pepper, cumin, Mexican spices, etc. No peppers or lime wedges were provided, which I’m accustomed to. I have Ane will travel outside my community for takeout food,
Needless to say, I will not be doing a do over. It’s always packed as the environment is nice and family friendly which is why it’s probably frequented by “community residents” cause the food is very lack luster. I consider myself a connoisseur and love, luv, ❤️ tacos but the tacos prepared yesterday were a colossal disappointment.

UPDATE - This is how La Fiesta responded to my review:
Response from the ownera month ago
Hey David! Firstly just want to say you write very eloquently, wonderful verbiage...secondly just want to mention that our meat is cut in house daily, as are all of our sauces cooked homemade. Sorry you didn't enjoy the dish you ordered. We agree some staff can perform better than others, trust us when we say this is something we stay on our staff about but the vast majority of the time, we are pretty proud of the work they do. Lastly the roof over the patio...we never really considered enclosing the space without a roof...I suppose that was an option. We were probably thinking more about snow and rain than acoustics. Glad we're on our bucket game tho! ********************************************
THIS DEMONSTRATES WHY LA FIESTA HAS GONE DOWNHILL. RATHER THAN ADDRESS THE PROBLEMS AT THE BUSINESS, THEY CHOSE TO SEND A SNARKY PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE REPLY. I STAND BY MY ORIGINAL REVIEW.
I’ve had better Mexican food from the frozen section. It’s a neighborhood place which is nice if you’re drinking but don’t come here expecting to be served quality food. Even worse is the service. The staff has two speeds: slow and stop. They put a roof over the patio which causes an annoying echo. At least they can’t screw up a bucket of Corona.

Food is really good! Ambiance is great! Staff is quick and friendly! They have an additional room with two fireplaces and in the warmer weather they will open-air the area! It's a nice place to relax and enjoy a delicious margarita or your favorite beverage. They recently added a huge window to open up the interior portion of their dining room. It really brightens the place up! Plenty of parking also.

Hardly "authentic". Ordered the margaritas shrimp. A few lime wedges and 3 tortillas. Dry lettuce, 2 slivers of tomato and no sour cream. Sour cream is "extra". Chips are "extra". With a name like "Grant's", I should have known. No more. Waitress was nice. If you like dry Mexican food this is the place for you.

The shrimp and chicken tacos with Chipotle sauce was superb 👌 The waiter Moni was not! He was rushing my partner whom was asking for suggestions from the menu. He never came back to refil nothing or check on us. He came back three times to get the check afterwards! We rushed our order and stated he had others to wait on when there was only 1 table taken inside. The manager Gil was very nice, attentive and accomodating. He didn't offer any type of discount for the wait or waiter negligence. We waited 45 minutes between the guacamole and our food! I believe the waiter was prejudice. Nevertheless, the tacos worth it, drinks were mediocre and I would not recommend bland guacamole.

The chipotle chicken tacos and steak tacos are a hit!!!! I wanted to kiss the chef!! My waiter, Manny, could learn some patience. He rushed my sista and I to place our order because he had “other tables”. Gal, the manager, came to our rescue. Overall, I’d go back, only for the food, alcoholic drinks, not so much.

With its delicious original Mexican food, lively atmosphere, and top-notch service, La Fiesta Mexican Restaurant in Chicago has captured my heart. A welcoming and lively atmosphere welcomed me as soon as I entered, setting the mood for an enjoyable dinner experience.
Let's now discuss the main attraction, the cuisine. The cuisine at La Fiesta is a celebration of classic Mexican flavors, with a variety of dishes to suit every taste.
Their guacamole, a creamy and savory dip cooked with wonderfully ripe avocados and a hint of tangy lime, is a must-try appetizer that goes fantastically with their crisp tortilla chips.

I really wanted to like this place…. But if I could give it no stars, I most definitely would! First off, when I called the first time they didn’t even say hello they just picked up and sounded like they put the phone down and you could hear all the background noise and conversations ( I should’ve taken this as a sign) stood on a few minutes then I hung up and called back placed my order chorizo breakfast, 2 Asada tortas, and a chicken flauta dinner and a taco plain. It was about $58. When husband picked it up they didn’t even get my name right it was under “Linda” but I can see how that can get mixed up….BUT the food was completely bland except for the tortas they were just okay, because everything else was horrible the chorizo breakfast had no taste and the corn tortillas were the reheated a few times on the comal texture and hard not warm at all…. The Flauta dinner was only 3 flautas and some lettuce and tomato no rice, no beans ! The chicken was pretty dry and barely any taste. The salsa that came with it was disgusting, looked somewhat like spaghetti tomato sauce….the tortas came with fries which we were like okay that seems kool maybe at least the fries will be good, cuz their fries right? …. Nope the fries were really undercooked not “fries at all” it almost feels like Pepe’s would do a better job …. Sorry never again … TBH by the looks of the food, taste and experience it seemed like they just cut the corners and if they put a bit more effort into a quality food/meal it would be different. I really hope it hasn’t been like this for the past 30 years. Also this was my first and last time ever at this spot. Sorry I wanted to like you guys but crossed completely out my list of trying all the neighborhood Mexican spots around so far … on to the next spot. Please don’t waste your money or even your time to go pick up.

Dined in with 3 others. Atmosphere is ok, and they definitely have enough seating for the amount of people who want to sit., so no problem there.
Food is on par for a Tex-next restaurant serving what is supposed to be “authentic” Mexican food but really is serving a very Americanized version of Mexican cuisine.
HOWEVER, the food, while on par for Tex-mex…is actually excellent for doing so and excelling in such category.
Don’t come here for an “authentic” experience. Come here expecting Americanized Mexican cuisine.
Finally, as for the check. It came out to $105 for 4 people whom all got entrees and all got at least 1 alcoholic drink.
And paying was a nightmare. They require you use these old, what seem to be out of date, digital receipts. When paying by credit card, and needing to split the bill, there is absolutely no easy way to split it by seat # (as in who got what at seat 1 and what do they own, plus tip and tax.
They have a handy “split evenly” across 4 seats. And even though there were 4 of us who are all great friends, with inflation and one of the other people on the party drinking 3 drinks while we all each had one, became maddening. These credit card machines are new to me even though I’ve been going here for years. However the last time is was there was in 2021 and they didn’t have these clunky credit card machines.
SUGGESTION to La Fiesta: keep doing what your doing with the food, it is just as expected. But get rid of the credit card machines. It is NOT the patrons jobs to split the bill, and the figure tax AND swipe our own cards. This is why we tip the servers, to do these things for us..especially at 25%!

We used to go to this place a lot but that was like 15 years ago and it was always delicious. But on 9.19.2022 we were disappointed. The only thing we enjoyed were the chips they are fantastic and the salsa was pretty decent also. My wife ordered a regular Margarita but we had to send it back immediately... it was obviously missing ingredients probably Triple Sec or sweet and sour mix because there was zero flavor or Sweetness in the drink the only thing that it tasted like was cheap tequila and lime juice. They replaced it with a raspberry margarita but that also had a chemical taste to it. Which is too bad because this could be a really decent place to hang out at it is clean and in a good location and the prices are reasonable. The steak tacos we ordered were kind of bland. And unfortunately I suffered from heartburn all night long and into the next morning. Maybe it was just an off night for them. Hope they get back on their game because it would be really nice to have a good margarita place close to home.

I'm going to be honest, I've been coming here since I was a little kid and this is my favorite Mexican restaurant. Over the past couple years we have seen the prices go up. Which is completely understandable to a certain extent. When the prices go up and the quality goes down that's where I draw the line. We ordered last weekend and the food was very bland. The tamales looked like they got run over by a bus. What really was the worst part was of this take out experience was the salsa. They honestly used to have the best. But this was the second time in a row that we ordered salsa and it was completely un-edible. It tasted sour and honestly like an old shoe. You could tell it had been sitting for a couple days. The foods just not worth the price any longer. Every time we go there we feel as if we have to re mortgage the house just to pay the tab for 2 people. What a shame.

Worst place for authentic Mexican food- not the best experience with customer service tonight.
We sat at the bar, across the walk way …the wait staff laughed stared and talk in Spanish the whole time we sat there eating our food and margaritas. Margaritas were so good … But the food was not authentic- the meat wasn’t seasoned well and they charge extra for Cilantro and green sauce.
What authentic steak taco doesn’t have cilantro and onions ??
Anyways the inside of the place was beautiful. But the food wasn’t appetitzing. I would never recommend this place for great food- they had great drinks tho. Could train staff on hospitable matters while in the dining room area could do some good too.
Thanks for the drinks
