Moe's Cantina - River North

The staff was extremely nice from the very moment I stepped foot into the place. Our waitress, Helen was awesome! She was attentive and brought out our drinks very quickly.

The restaurant is massive and they have ample seating for any size group. I was easily able to be a reservation for a party of six without having to put down a deposit and they even called me the tonight before to confirm my reservation.

The food was delicious! I ordered the happy hour nachos and it was massive. I was surprised by the amount of guacamole they give you. I could have easily taken some to-go if I wanted.

I had the mango margarita and it was flavorful. It is one of the few mango margaritas that actually tastes like mango. The chocolate cake is unbelievable. It was so moist and tasted fresh. I would highly recommend getting a margarita and a slice of the chocolate cake.

I would highly recommend visiting Moe’s Cantina for a fun night out with your friends, a date night, or night out with the your family.

Pretty interesting Cantina restaurant that converts into a night club on the weekend. The atmosphere is pretty great! Beautiful space, lots of tables and bar seating. Very energetic music even outside of night club hours. The one thing is that the food quality and the pricing doesn't match very well. It is very pricey for very small portions and slightly unbalanced flavors (like either incredibly mild flavor or so spicy you don't taste anything else). But, the service is excellent.

Went here for happy hour, prices were great. Our server Helen was great and checked in on us whenever drinks/ food were low. It is super cute inside and especially great when the doors are open on a nice day. Def recommend!

Don’t come here, especially if you’re black. My fiance spent over $300 for the NYE tickets/package. It was supposed to include premium cocktails and a buffet. Loved the big Christmas ornaments and music was decent.
The bartenders kept giving me grenadine for some reason instead of captain and coke until I started correcting them. The drinks hardly had any alcohol in them.

Stop by last Thursday 12/26/2024. Say at the bar. David the bartender 😉 (handsome) and the other guy didn’t get his name. Think he was the Barback guy with long braided hair were very nice. We had margaritas, chicken nachos which were omg delicious 🤤 and Paloma. Great atmosphere. Great service. Will definitely stop in again when we’re back in town. Thanks guys you’re the best. Oh btw I love your guys Christmas 🎄 decorations.

David and the bar back forgot his name but he had a ponytail where awesome!!!!!! We had some delicious nachos and there margaritas y paloma’s were exactly. This bar has a terrible service . Over charge. The service is terrible hours after reservation made and paid waiting time. You pay for a full service bottles and they pretend you drink in less than 30 min , $500 bottle. Then they try to kick you out like a delinquent of the table without asking if you want any more service, the server was just cutting out without offering option for more service.. Come on ! Half of the bar wasn’t spending the cost of the bottle. In Chicago this trending don’t last much! see it closing after a week! Don’t come here lack of everything even the basic.. decent service !

Had a terrible experience here, would not recommend. My friend and I came to this location on a Friday night and ended up getting kicked out. Someone had thrown up all over the stairs and my friend and I both touched the railing without noticing it had vomit. We went back downstairs to wash our hands in the bathroom and my friend fell because the floor was supper wet and slippery. After this we were trying to go back upstairs but the workers were not letting anyone pass until they cleaned the vomit. Since the vomit was right next to us, my friend started feeling queasy because of the smell and we went back into the bathroom just in case if she had to throw up. I was in the stall with her to help her. Not even 10 seconds later a lady is banging on our stall yelling at us saying two people can't be in the stall at the same time. I tried explaining to her that I was in there to help my friend and she didn't care. She then told us we had to leave. We were escorted out of the club and the security guy told us we got kicked out because we were giving the manager attitude and because we had vomit all over ourselves (which we didn't?!?)
Never coming back here, it is overhyped and the workers are rude and unprofessional!

Worse bar in Chicago! Save your money and time. Bartenders are extremely rude can’t even smile at you and expect a tip. Drinks are not good and are 18 dollars and for some reason the price goes up as the night goes by….0.5/10

DO NOT order photos from the camera people. I know they don’t work for Moe’s directly but they will promise to email you photos, that you pay for ahead of time, and will not send you them. Basically steal your money. The restaurant should be accountable for who they do business with.

drinks were good! But the food was mid and overly priced. The churros were awful, stale and tough like they've been sitting out all day. When we told the waitress she said 'they're deep fried' like they're supposed to be that way. Like we don't know what churros are? At least the manager was nice enough to apologize and take it all the bill. Won't be back.

Subpar food, but I expected that. The service was meh, we ordered several beans and rice and didn’t receive one of the plates of beans, but they were way larger than we expected so we just shared and we were like oh well just see if it’s on the bill and we can have them take it off if so since we didn’t need it. Then we ordered a last round of drinks and 2 of the margaritas never came and the music got loud so we decided to leave. Once we received the bill (400+$) we flagged that we were charged for these items and the server was like “you really should have let me know you didn’t receive the food when it was put down, but what I can do is take off the margaritas” in a manner that made it seem like she was doing us a kindness… like it’s the principal, all in all the beans were 6$ so we weren’t going to hassle or argue but literally we didn’t receive it…and paid for it. Then again I expect this from most places in River North.

We came for happy hour before heading out for a girls night and Fatima started our evening off right! She recommended the sopa, churros, and margaritas. We were not disappointed. I loved the sopa. It has great music and all the games on. Highly recommend for big groups!

We happened upon Moe's Cantina after looking for a spot for dinner for a while. Being from Texas originally, we felt a little at home here. Bella gave amazing service and checked on us frequently without being intrusive. We had the steak skewers which come on a fun giant metal hang bar, quesadillas, and nachos. Everything was delicious but the nachos were the star! So good!!! Also, had a delicious mango margarita that hit the spot!

Amazing salsa with the chips at the start of the meal! I love the Moe’s salad! Topped some of the spunky salsa over it and yum!!! The dessert with churus and vanilla ice cream could use a tastier ice cream and slightly more chocolate sauce but the churus are good. My husband’s enchiladas with mole was also good! Got to taste some! Monica, the server, was friendly and checked on us regularly! Come here to watch Michigan Go Blue!!!

Our waitress Fatima is fabulous! She had great food recommendations and ensured we were happy full. The chicken nachos are 1000% delicious. We loved the Holy Water Margarita. Every city I visit, I always try out the local Mexican restaurants. I would return to Moe’s Cantina tomorrow and would highly recommend it to my friends who visit this wonderful city.

Waited almost an hour in a line lastnight without even moving an inch, the bouncer only let in people he knew such as his guy friends and girls that were with said friends. As I was leaving I called him out for it! The venue was completely empty inside so it’s not like the reason was because it was too busy. I’ve been to the most expensive clubs around the world and never have seen this before, it’s like they had the line just to seem cool and encourage more people to line up. Which I don’t understand because don’t u want our money? Super unprofessional and weird!

Stopped by around 11:30 pm on a Friday and the vibe is very different to other Latino places in Chicago. Nobody was dancing and instead were just at tables with their groups of friends. Music was not great and for a $20 cover, I would just go to Tunnel next door. If you’re going with a group of friends I would say it wouldn’t be bad, but if on a date and looking to dance with them, choose elsewhere.

Parking is $14 for 4 hours on their website though so that’s the only upside of this place.

First time being in Chicago and I had a great time at Moes Cantina. Our server, Fatima, was an absolute gem! So sweet and recommended great food options. Carne asada taco had great flavor but the meat was very dry, but the shrimp tacos were to die for. The happy hour specials are out of this world

Me and my friend walked up to this club and the security guard (shown in this photo) spoke a racial slur to my friend ! This completely ruined her night and this man needs to be IMMEDIATELY FIRED ! Why would you say something so left field to somebody for no reason , all we did was walk up to enjoy a good time. I wouldn’t recommend anybody to come to this establishment , we just ended up walkiing into treehouse and having a great time.

Unfortunately, while enjoying last night my family and I went through one of the worst treatments we have ever been through in the entire United States, I made a reservation for 8 people, and we were there from 8pm enjoying their food, we ordered buckets of beer and cocktails, at around 12am a rude person arrived, he pretended to be a manager, stopping us from the table, we didn't understand absolutely anything, they started to remove the chairs, the man made extremely rude movements with his hands and when we understood what was happening it was that we couldn't be there without buying a bottle, the truth is for clients who spent almost $700 in his place, it wasn't right, in the reservation they never told me this, nor when we arrived, they never let us know that they were going to take away our table for not buying a bottle and give it to a person who arrives at 12 at night, without a reservation and only to buy a bottle. This place is beautiful, the food is very good, we would have consumed much more but the treatment we received in the end was horrendous, rude, we would not return! I hope they can improve the service and let their customers know what the system is for the tables from the first moment one arrives at the canteen.

Weak Dj. security guards are lame and crooked. Make lies just to steal more money out of you at the door. They only think they’re tough because they got like 5 dudes but one one one they are light work. Little short ass securities too. Only thing worth it are the women hear but they music is bad.

Perfect Saturday afternoon stop for food and cocktails. Lily was amazing and really took care of our large group. Then a few of us stayed and she was able to move us outside to the patio which was so nice on a beautiful mid-September day. Thank you for taking such good care of us 💕

This place during the day for lunch is fantastic. The tacos are delicious and good portions. I was not excepting that. Finally, the dessert with churros and ice cream was to die for. Truly a great experience and atmosphere to dine. Shout out to Bella our server for her service and kind hospitality. She was amazing.

Dope spot to go out and dance to the music of the best djs in Chicago. If you're from out of town or even if you're not, make sure you ask for Charlie. He's a super host you'll never forget. Any place he is at, you know it's going to be a night for the books.

The staff was extremely nice from the very moment I stepped foot into the place. Our waitress, Helen was awesome! She was attentive and brought out our drinks very quickly.

The restaurant is massive and they have ample seating for any size group. I was easily able to be a reservation for a party of six without having to put down a deposit and they even called me the tonight before to confirm my reservation.

The food was delicious! I ordered the happy hour nachos and it was massive. I was surprised by the amount of guacamole they give you. I could have easily taken some to-go if I wanted.

I had the mango margarita and it was flavorful. It is one of the few mango margaritas that actually tastes like mango. The chocolate cake is unbelievable. It was so moist and tasted fresh. I would highly recommend getting a margarita and a slice of the chocolate cake.

I would highly recommend visiting Moe’s Cantina for a fun night out with your friends, a date night, or night out with the your family.

I had such a great time at Moe’s! The food was incredible, the drinks were hitting and the service was great! Helen took good care of us and kept the drinks flowing. I recommend the churros. I’ll def be back!

I went during club hours, 20 dollar cover for men. OK music, mostly remixes of Latin music. The last 30 minutes was more cambiaton or straight up cumbia which I thoroughly enjoyed. There’s no real dance floor, there are table everywhere except in the very back, I did not like this. 9 dollar modelo

Food was good but I live 4 hours away and forgot a bag (which is on me), however I called and spoke with the manager and exchanged info and he said that they’d ship the bag to me.
I never got any follow up or confirmation. I’ve called countless times and staff says “that manager isn’t working tonight, call back tomorrow” or I’d give my phone number and hear nothing. I‘d wait for a call back or call them and get more or less the same story.

After reaching out for weeks now, I’m about to give up but I would highly not recommend this place based on their service / just not being upfront and honest. If they didn’t have the bag then okay, but don’t string me along.

We are in Chicago for a Ace convention. Found Moe’s was within walking distance of our hotel. As we walked up we could see people enjoying the outdoor seating they offer. We decided to sit inside but they have huge doors open so you get to enjoy the sights and sounds of the city. Ana promptly greeted us and made us aware it was happy hour. We ordered margaritas and nachos that were both fantastic. Shrimp fajitas ended up being the entree and they were fantastic. Huge shrimp with a ton of veggies and hot tortillas. Ana kept good tabs on us and never let our drinks run low and was very tentative to any questions we had. Definitely putting Moe’s on the must go to list when we are back in Chicago.

I met a busload of my friends from the suburbs and they charged every person $20 cover. I’ve worked in the industry for many years and talked to the Manager. He was rude, arrogant and just a jerk!! Then he kicked me out just for talking to him!! I wouldn’t recommend this spot to my enemies, much less my friends!! Horrible experience!!!

Saturday night DJ was bomb !!!! He played so much REGGAETON! Best bar/night club I have been to, you will have so much fun here!
