Caribbean Jerk Corner

Once you can open the front door the Caribbean Jerk Corner will excite you with their menu. 10 star food!!! The food is cooked with passion, full of flavor, and served in hearty portions. They make sure to put plenty of sauce on your meat and rice. The day we went our food was fresh off the burner. 1 star deduction due to container failure and my sides were wrong. One of the styrofoam containers melted through on the macaroni and cheese side. Also, my sides were wrong. Next time I'll double check my order. The cabbage, sweet potatoes, and mac-n-cheese are good choices. The red beans and rice are good too. The part that got me was the oxtails! They were large, perfectly rendered and succulent. I was told the curry goat tasted great. Give them a try.

The Cashier which I believe was the owner talking all on the phone will I’m trying to order , I ordered a Jamaican patty very dry and brittle and a half dark with macaroni n cheese yams and the red bean and rice comes with it . Everything was very nasty I could not finish the jerk sauce was kinda good but everything was bad macaroni look liked it had been cooked weeks ago no cheese very dry the chicken was not even good only with the sauce . The red beans and rice were overcooked and sticky very disgusting. I really wanted my money back . Do not eat here they use the same food over and over again until it’s gone . Nothing fresh but the jerk chicken not going back.

This is by far the worst experience with Jerk food I've ever had. I ordered the oxtail dinner and paid $28.61, but the mac & cheese and cabbage seemed reheated, and the rice (rice & beans) was hard and not fluffy. Plus, I didn't receive any Jerk sauce with my order. The only positive was the atmosphere. However, I won't be returning to this spot, despite living nearby. Additionally, the person taking my order, who I believe was the owner because he was writing checks, had a unfriendly look and attitude. This should have been a warning sign for me from the start.

I will not be returning. I've gotten better jerk chicken on the street. This chicken was not cooked over a open flamed. You can tell it was placed in broiler. I don't like putting down businesses. But for the amount of money that I paid vs the quality of the food... if you're looking for authentic jerk chicken, I don't believe you're going to find it here. They even sold me some french fries without any type of seasoning. Let that sink in

Literally just left… was excited to find a jerk spot near me but unfortunately I don’t think I’ll be returning. Food was ready in 5 mins so I should have known the quality would not be great. Ordered wings and Mac and cabbage. First off the Mac clearly was old , not fresh and didn’t taste well… had a brown coloring and just looked old. Jerk wings were okay but definitely dried out…and the cabbage seemed fresh but was bland , I added some salt. Disappointed ☹️

Customer service was not friendly at all. I waited over 10 mins for someone to come from the back and I was never greeted. He just came and stood at the register. I ordered The Cajun Shrimp Pasta. It had a good flavor but the shrimp were SO overcooked, they were like rubber. Couldn’t eat them at all. That’s disappointing for $20. Really nothing to make me wanna come back to.

First off let me start off with the price, the wall advertise one price for oxtails and the counter advertise another price. And considering it was lunch time the price was still $25.95.. the size of them was good, but they were still tuff to eat. The cabbage was overcooked and the plantains were life mash potatoes. I definitely understand when a restaurant has bad day but when the food is pricey you don’t get to have them I’m sorry but not so the Food seems old and very dry this place is too expensive for the food to be bad definitely not worth the price and this is my final time going here started off delicious but now just heading down hill I rather take a 30 minute drive to uncle joes then back here again seriously service has definitely gone bad

I ordered 2 jerk salads today 5/26/24 .
1 of our salads had hair insidr th salad.
I called to make them aware of hair in my food and the guy was so unconcerned and act as if though this was a normal complaint.
I am out of 24 dollars and the lack on concern was a slap in the face .
I will be reporting them to the health department on Tuesday

I had the Jerk Chicken Alfredo after my brother told me how good it was. It was outstanding. I will definitely go back for that. I had the jerk chicken salad the next visit and it was very average at best. The salad greens were from a bag and the chicken did not have a distinct jerk taste.

I ordered two beef patties here, and they were served cold. They offered to warm them up, but it's unsafe to eat cooled down meat even if reheated. When I asked for a return, they said they didn't do returns but offered an exchange. I didn't want an exchange because if they were serving cold beef patties, I was concerned about the quality of other items.

It's your typical takeout restaurant (no frills) but amazing food. I typically order the curried goat, cabbage and yams. This visit, I added plantains. It was amazing!! You can tell whoever's cooking is making your food with love. I'll definitely be back!

I Love it here. I come almost every day after work. I eat the jerk chicken, jerk catfish, brown stew chicken and curry chicken and it is so delicious.

Today I ordered the whole chicken for my lunch and dinner. I can truly say that I was not impressed and that the food didn’t taste so well. The jerk sauce seemed different also as if it was just liquid.

From my point of view, Tropic Island Jerk and Jamaican Jerk Choice has far superior flavor and tenderness.

Chicken was seasoned even without the jerk sauce. Very flavorful. Added the sauce was even better. Also tried the ESCOVITCH it’s sooooo hot but good makes you keep eating more.

Only come Wednesday-Sunday and I always call n make sure Chef Floyd is there, when he is there the food is so fresh the rasta pasta curry chicken and oxtails was so amazing he never disappoints so before you go call and ask if Chef Floyd is cooking i promise you would love it.

Salad had iceberg lettuce. I was told it would be Romain. Meat was super dry. I was only given 1 package of dressing. I needed 3.

Food was hobubble rice, didn't have any flavor chicken was dry, barely had flavor Mac, and cheese had bits and pieces of sweet potato as if they use the sweet potato spoon to serve the mac n cheese never ever will eat there again. On top of that, it was over price $18.

This place is terrible I wouldn’t recommend u feed this place to your dog. They give you Bag salad, no fresh tomatoes n on top of that the chicken wasn’t even jerked. This place should be shut down n they should not be allowed to sale food. If u ever hungry go to Docks not this place. U will be very disappointed.

I was excited to see what the deal was my chicken wings were burnt hardly edible. I got my mom the chicken & catfish combo food is awful. When you spend your hard earned money for food you should at least get good hot delicious food. Save your money Don't come here.

First of all, if you’re new to the neighborhood first impressions are everything. I chose this place because my old jerk spot closed . I ordered a simple jerk salad with extra chicken. My first impression when I walked in wasn’t great. It’s an employee at the register with dirty nails 😩😩 I tell her what I ordered and she walks to the back. While she’s back there I’m observing EVERYTHING. Counters dirty, floors dirty, doors leading to the kitchen dirty. I couldn’t take it. I walked out. First impressions are everything. Customer service was just as stank as the establishment.

Should read reviews before going this was my first time have Jamaica food so I was excited and then sadly disappointed ordered curry chicken which seem to have been cook in a pressure cooker no favor but spicy Mac and cheese looked very dry and was spicy as well cabbage had tasted like the pot it was cooked in no favor at all if I could I would have gotten a refund don’t think I will be trying another Jamaica restaurant ever

Oh my goodness. The curry goat is delicious. It's something different and scrumptious with the cabbage and carrots. The rice and gravy is savory with a mild kick that's just right. Such a great experience of goodness and timeless... short wait. great taste.

It’s the authenticity for me. The spices proves this is a real jerk chicken spot. I had the oxtails that were super tender and flavorful the first time i came here. This time I had the jerk Alfredo. I wish we had this in Naperville or Aurora

The worst! Bought food for the family and we ALL got sick. The wings were dried OUT. The beans and rice seemed old and taste a little off. Cabbage was ok. We all had diarrhea and stomach aches the next two days. Wings so small and dry. I would not order here if they paid me $100! My co-worker who went with me was sick as well. We contacted the health department and filed a complaint.

As a Jamaican-American, I was so happy to see a place seeming to service authentic Jamaican food. With a Jamaican chef, I thought I happened on food gold. I was wrong. After tasting what was said to be curry goat (it was watered down, I decided to get a beef patty. It was the worst beef patty I'd ever had. It didn't taste like a Jamaican beef patty. The baked shell was chewy as if it wasn't fully baked. The meat inside the patty was dry and tasted like dirt. It was so bad that I went back a month later and told the chef that he owed me a redo on the patty. He gave me another one. It was better. "This one is fresh," he said. "Just out of the oven." I pray the food gets better here and that the owner takes these reviews to heart.

Oxtails are delicious but you get 4 for $20 with about 1/2 pound of rice n beans (exaggerated) Suggest they add more food or cut prices, I will not return

The food here is awesome. The chef absolutely crushed the flavor and juiciness of my half chicken. And the cabbage is simply delicious. From the first to last bite, the meal was a delight. Y’all should slide thru!

I ordered the jerk chicken and catfish combo. The fish was great and the plantains were amazing!! Perfectly ripe, and cooked just the way I like them. Huuuh, now the bad part…the chicken was very dry and so was the rice. Definitely add gravy to the rice, and I have no suggestions for the chicken. I do t know if it wasn’t fresh or if it was just over cooked but it was definitely very dry and hard for me. I’d give them a second chance because Rohan that took my order was very friendly, and respectful. The lady cooking was very nice also.

Awful and a waste of money. Ordered the curry goat. Literally didn’t have one piece of meat. Rice and beans drowned in burnt gravy with large pieces of potatoes, bones and shredded meat. Overcooked plantains.

One word... GARBAGE🤢🤮... If I could give zero stars I would. The customer service is very poor, the old man is VERY rude and has absolutely no knowledge of the pricing or products that he sales. I wouldn't take my dog there to eat! The cook needs to go back to wherever he came from and get more lessons on how to make great Caribbean jerk food. I strongly recommend if you have a taste for some real jerk to go to Jerk Villa on 22nd and Michigan at least you will definitely get your money worth. This place is fraudulent!!! So not worth it!!!!

Not so good, if you play monopoly try not to land on Board walk. Wasted my money 💰 , macaroni and cheese 🧀 is horrible!!!!!! I was better off going to Pete Produce to get what I wanted. I ordered the oxtails, they only gave me very nibbles of meat with a bunch of rice, around about 5 red beans. Macaroni with no cheese, only thing was good was nothing 😋!!!!

They gave a good portion size.BUT the food was not jerky at all. No seasoning what so ever and the sides were horrible. Cabbage over cooked. It needs more Flavor. If you don’t mind having to use your own seasoning or like nursing home food then this is the place for u.

I had the jerk chicken eggs roll they were good but can be better if you GRILLED the chicken on an OUTSIDE grill👍🏾

The sauce is tasty But toooooo HOT! Take some of the added spice out of it!!

I am a new customer: Even though the location is small but clean that's a ✔️ for me, I'm a salmon lover so I tried their jerk salmon dinner.
The herbs bursting with flavors out the meat was delicious it wasn't dry nor overly/under cooked, the cabbage was well cooked flavorful not mushy the portion, even though they gave me small portion, but it was absolutely the best I've had compared to other jerk spots.

Today I got the same dinner, added their yams my first time the consistency of ingredients was delicious wasn't full of sugar. This time the portion was heavy.
It's worth the price$$$. This is my new jerk spot.
