Jerk 48 East

Ordered a whole white chicken and got 6 pieces of chicken. I have ordered from the Jerk 48 location on Pulaski many times and always got more than 6 pieces of chicken for a whole, maybe double that. Aside from this, the chicken was dry and tasted burnt. Definitely a rip off. Especially at over $20. Won’t be coming back here.

If I could give a negative 10 for food I would. Waisted $60 on 1/2 jerk dinner , 6 wings and a 1/2 Alfredo and egg rolls all of it tasteless and the chicken was drier than burnt toast and the chicken in the Alfredo tasted funny almost sour and the wings was mini and dehydrated . I would say we didn’t finish it but we didn’t even really start it just taste it and tossed it. Very disappointing. Definitely not following the same recipe at all locations cause I use to rock with the location on 47th.

Everything is really good but dessert! I got red velvet cake and it tasted like the plastic container it was in. So it had been sitting in there too long & it was hard !!!! Other than the main dishes are great.

The jerk chicken was burned like all you taste is burnt has no flavor but burned. The rice and peas were horrible. The “peas” were under cooked and very had and the rice was sweaty and soggy. The yams had NO flavor at all and they weren’t cooked enough either. And I had the slightest idea what was going on with that macaroni and cheese but it was NOT IT! If I could’ve I would rate it zero. I ordered it through uber eats and I should’ve kept my money and made me a grilled cheese 🤦🏽‍♀️

This was my 1st time, I've heard so many good things about this place on the internet but it was not. I got a jerk chkn burrito and it was so dry I wanted to cry. I spent $23 on a dry ass burrito that barely taste like jerk. They gave the smallest cup of jerk BBQ that was not even good. I'm so mad I spent this money on this food because it was expensive. $23 for a burrito and fries is crazy. Never again. Terrible jerk place.

I usually go to the location on 67th, but decided to give this one a shot. Never again! I always order the jerk chicken and shrimp alfredo. Taste nothing like the one on 67th. Shrimp look old, and was salty and the chicken was too salty and dry. Not sure how you mess up bread (the garlic pita bread) but, it was horrible!. I haven’t tasted the jerk flavor seasonings yet. Not even even spicy. Just horrible. I would not revisit this location again.

This was my first experience and my last. I cannot believe that this kind of food is being served and at this price. It was not suitable as scraps to give to a dog. The chicken was overcooked and dry, the macaroni was just cheesy with parsley flakes, the cabbage was greasy and tasteless, and the rice was undercooked, still crunchy and the red beans with gravy had the consistency of canned pork and beans. Pure trash, and that’s where it went. And not to mention the temperature of the food was not in compliance with the guidelines of food and sanitation regulations. It should be a grand closing.

The food was horrible, l never had red beans and rice served with white rice. All my sides were sitting in water. The chicken was not done. This was my first time at this place and will definitely be my last time. I will tell everyone that I know do not waste your money. Now days it's very pricey to eat out at restaurant. So to get food that is not worth your money is not good. I was very disappointed. I should have taken the food back. I Didn't eat it pick over it and threw it in the garbage with disappointment and disgusted.

Very Disappointed, this is my first time trying the establishment, food came out extremely cold , Chicken under cooked, rice extremely watery( too much liquid) didn’t have any flavors . every thing was extremely bland. Last night I paid over $60 for a full chicken Alfredo and a half chicken Alfredo the pasta was over cooked, and didn't have any Alfredo sauce in the the full chicken Alfredo and the half Alfredo had watered down sauce with over cooked pasta and the chicken was spoiled and you could smell it as soon as you opened the container worst 65$ I've ever spent never again at this location 🤮

WENT THERE YESTERDAY ON A SUNDAY HADN'T ATE ALL DAY, JUST SAVING MY APPETITE FOR SOME GOOD JERK CHICKEN.... 2nd time in Chicago so I had to stop by the famous Jerk 48. Food and service was great. Weather was gloomy and rainy but it was worth the trip. Highly recommend stopping by and grabbing the jerk Chicken Alfredo.

Terrible from the beginning. When I walked in the young lady behind the counter was on her phone didn’t speak or even welcome me. The young lady looked at me like I was bothering her when finally I said I’m picking up my order, she asked the name and brought my food. No thank you for your business or anything just handed me the bag and went back to her phone.
When I got home and opened the food I was sadly disappointed and dissatisfied. I ordered a half white jerk dinner for $24 with tax. The Mac and cheese was one of the worst I’ve ever had, the cabbage had big baby carrots in it, more carrots than cabbage. The chicken was ok but salty and the beans and rice OMG had no seasoning at all! I was so disappointed especially trying to support a black business in the neighborhood only to be let down. Save your money go somewhere else!

I give this place 1 star because I just ordered jerk chicken and shrimp Alfredo . And loaded jerk fries. first off the loaded fries was cold and sloppy looking. the Alfred is nasty pasta cooked to long and not enough chicken and for the wait my food was not hot it was Luke warm. Super irritated because I literally just waisted. $48.65
