I just love this restaurant and the owner comes out and talk to you she's so sweet. The food is so yummy and the portions mean you will always have some to take home. I wish she stayed open longer because I can't even imagine how good her dinners would be.

Place is crap. The only place in the world that simultaneously doesn't accept credit cards(red flag) and REFUSES to cook the steak that you are PAYING FOR the way that you want. Not sure how this place stays in business. I guess people in the 'hood love crappy service. On another note, my waitress was very nice so that's the only reason why I'd give it two stars.

Friendly service and large quantities of good, good breakfast food!

My only regret was not being able to try one of their humongous pancakes and omelettes! I saw some pass by and the omelettes looked STUFFED! Both the pancake and omelette separately, filled the styrofoam to-go box to the brim.

Sometimes large quantities mean okay good, but the steak and eggs are one of the best in the city! Loved!

The staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly, it looked like there was only one dedicated waitress but the rest of the staff kept taking turns asking if I wanted my coffee and water refilled. I was impressed that even with the lower price point, the staff was so friendly and patient.

The place is a little 'cozy' and note: cash only.

My grandson and I had brunch at Leifs today. Good food, good value. Large portions, its worth the wait cause they fix the food after you order. Food is fresh, steak was tender and the coffee was excellent.

It reminds me of going to Woolworth or Coney Islands to eat breakfast. This is my FAVOR grease spoon restaurant. The lady is always nice when I come in to everyone. The food is freshly made and plentiful.

Been coming here since Mama Leif was back there cooking those classic pancakes or that big ol Steak and Eggs Helpings! Definitely a hidden treasure in South Chicago.
