We sat at the bar and had a wonderful experience! Bartender Jada was the best of the best! The food was amazing! I had the salmon and grits and loved every bit of it! The drinks were also amazing and unique. Very satisfied all around. Service, people, atmosphere all get a 10/10!

The L Station is phenomenal! Where to begin? The food tastes like my grandma was in kitchen. Every dish served with such love and care. It made my eyes misty. The atmosphere is fun with great music and decor. The service!!!!👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 Chris was amazing! He never made us feel abandoned and was gave great recs. Truly it felt like talking with a cousin! I will never forget this place for the rest my life and I'll return!

We stopped in for lunch. This place does not disappoint. Chris was our server. He was amazing. His service was impeccable. Very friendly and knowledgeable. The food was amazing. I suggest trying the lamb chops and cabbage. We will definitely visit again.

LaRoy treated me like a Queen. Tee made the best drinks and my server was amazing and recommended the cabbage. The owner took my order last mine and came through. I ordered the lollipop lamb chops with Mac and cheese and cabbage. The atmosphere was amazing and lovely. The staff is very friendly and attentive. They all made sure my experience was a good one.

First time here! Hotel was up the street and decided to give this place a try…. Idk if it was an off night but the food was not good. And service was so slow. We sat down promptly around 8:48 that’s when I took a picture of the menu ordered food maybe 5-10 mins later and food didn’t come out till 9:43. Almost an hour of waiting. Nobody checked on us. No refills no nothing just a lot of waiters and waitresses standing around taking shots at the bar.

The menu is very limited but they were out of all the good sides. I got TWO lamb chops and yams for 40$!! I’m still mad about that. The lamb chops were seasoned well but overcooked. I didn’t even tell them because we already waited an hour and I could hold out anymore. The yams were literally canned but the waitress said they were homemade. Couldn’t be.

My friend got the “turkey rib tips” more like gristle and she said it was disgusting. She was so mad.

Overall this is my first and last time. The place was really small and not at all packed for this place to have this many problems.

Maybe since I’m from the south I had higher expectations but I’m pretty sure you can find better soul food somewhere else. Hard pass.

Everything was AMAZING! We came in late December for our annual Christmas dinner and the Polar Express espresso martini flight is what is up! We ordered the lamb and salmon….. they didn’t last long. I had to remind myself to slow down. An all around wonderful experience Just make sure you MAKE A RESERVATION! Ps our server was Brandon and the Chef was Darius. Great job fellas!

Best spot in Chicago to this day! Amazing food and amazing service. Food is served fresh and is prepared on order. Had a great time and our server (Don) was very thoughtful and gave a lot of good recommendations. MUST TRY SPOT!!!!!

The food at The L Station is phenomenal. Everything we ordered tasted amazing, including the drinks. My friend and I ordered the margarita flights and not only were they beautiful, but they tasted so good. The portion size was generous and the atmosphere was great. The music really set an upbeat and fun vibe to the night. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. My only critique is that it is very small and the wait time is crazy. We waited 2 hours to be seated after we were told it would just be 1 hour so that was disappointing but they do have a wait list that you can check from your phone. If we hadn't been planning to go for weeks I would have left but the food made up for the wait. I suggest getting there as soon as they open on the weekends.

For a table i recommend you get a reservation, it’s a small restaurant. It was busy here and the wait time was long. But I had the caramel rum waffles and chicken with a side of greens and mac n cheese. The waiter was nice . He got my mimosa right away. My food was an 8/10. Greens were the best, mac n cheese too cheesy for me. And the prices are a bit high for small sides. All the drinks are giving $20 too. Parking on the street was fine.

This place is just what I need in my life on a regular basis! IJS Everything was great. We ate at the bar and "T" took special care of us! I even enjoyed watching 👀 him make all the fancy drinks! Really talented 👏 The music was the perfect Playlist of groove jams!

First time visiting this place I saw a reel on tic toc and decided I wanted to check it. My friends and I enjoyed ourselves the food was good the salmon bites yams and macaroni and cheese was delicious🔥 my daughter a friend didn’t care too much for the wings the BBQ ones was decent tho. Visited 01-10-25, I got the wing platter, wings was decent. I liked the BBQ and the jerk the most. The hot honey was not giving! The macaroni was 5/10 , the cabbage was really seasoned! The salmon bites 8/10. The Bartender Manager Kandis was Awesome! Drinks was fye (mention light on the syrup for the tower). Music was really nice. Our Server Karly was good,she gave great recommendations! Nice atmosphere it's small inside so a reservation is definitely recommended! They offer brunch on the weekends, and also Taco Tuesday! Overall experience 7/10 will be back for the drinks!

Tips were terrible I have NEVER had turkey tips that were mostly fat, they were actually sitting in a puddle of grease. My stomach was hurting for about 2 hours after eating them. My drink was good lol.

I wanted to try to place based on the Tik tok reviews. I was able to walk in without a reservation. Which was great. The drinks were amazing! The top shelf margarita flight was bomb! The salmon bites for an appetizer could have been cooked a little longer. I also ordered the jerk turkey tips and I was highly disappointed because they were so fatty and full of gristle. I had to send them back because they were cold. And ultimately didn’t even eat them because they were to fatty. They took them off the bill. The sides were delicious. My date had the salmon which was undercooked. This place I
Give a 5 out of 10. And I didn’t like the fact that they don’t print you out an itemized receipt for your bill. You have to see it on a portable scanner. Maybe brunch would be better but my expectations weren’t met

My friend and I had a wonderful time here. We had two orders of the shrimp bites, lamb chops, jerk turkey tips, cabbage, yams, Mac and cheese and fries. The food was all Fire! Lamb chops and turkey tips were tender. All the sides were great! Davi was a great server and offered great drink and food recommendations. We will definitely be back!!!

The customer service was awful. The restaurant opens at 4pm on Saturdays and my girlfriend and I arrived at the restaurant at 3:50pm. It’s January and freezing cold outside and they would not allow us to come inside even though they saw us. Then we waited outside until 4pm and they still would not allow us to come inside because they were not ready to open. The manager said we needed to wait outside for 10 more minutes. At this point we left because they were inconsiderate and rude and told us to wait outside even though they were already officially open.

The L Station is a whole vibe. Chris was a great server, funny and attentive. The atmosphere was fantastic. The DJ was top notch. Keep us singing and vibing the entire time. I can’t even begin to describe how AMAZING this restaurant is!!! The atmosphere is classy, the service was phenomenal, the food was absolutely mouth watering. I couldn’t get enough of the lamb chops - we tried it in every flavor! Mac and cheese was perfect, jerk chicken was perfect. This is an awesome restaurant, it was just close to my hotel and I gave it a try. Next time I’m in Chicago, I’m going to this place immediately!!

My first time here and I'll say it was a great vibe, music, food and service. Our server Kendall was great. My only critique is the BBQ turkey tips had a little too much fat on them but I won't let that deter me from coming back. The sides were delicious and everyone enjoyed their meal.

For one, the atmosphere was very pretty. We waited for them to open, and there was a couple in front of us. While the door was opened for them, the worker closed the door on us, as if he were preventing us from coming inside the restaurant. He then opened the door and we were seated immediately. We went to this restaurant in hopes of having brunch but they were not serving any brunch food because apparently, they were “all out” as stated by the waitress, so we had to opt for the dinner menu instead. I was either going to go for the loaded fries, the turkey sandwich, or the pastrami sandwich, which just so happened to be the three cheapest items on the menu. But the waitress coincidentally stated that those specific items were not available. So I decided to go with the chicken sandwich. What really ruined my experience was the fact that the waitress failed to mention that the entree came with a side. It didn’t state on the menu either that the food came with a side. So when I left the establishment and realized that I paid for a full amount of food but only received half of it, I was surely annoyed.

The Service I experienced at The L station was unacceptable. The hostess’s/greeter with the blonde locs was extremely rude and had a disrespectful nasty attitude, i have visited the this restaurant twice and each time there was an issue my reservation and i was made to stand outside in 15-20 degree weather as a result of the ignorant hostess

In addition , the food took over an hour to come to our table with half the portion than the last time, even after a required 18% gratuity the waitress tried to passively agreeable have me pay another gratuity

There are way too many black owned restaurants in the Chicago with a similar menu to have to deal with this . I will not be back and will never recommend this establishment

The food was overall amazing, however the guy at the front with the blonde hair with locs attitude is extremely horrible. I came in from out of town for my birthday and he made my initial experience extremely horrible. I think his name is Toby. He looks like he does not want to be working there.

We had fried lobster(worth every penny), shrimp bites and a variety of sides. Although the portions of shrimp bites were small ( 8 small pieces), it was absolutely delicious. So, I'll take the quality over quantity. The menu is limited and they ran out of greens at 5:30 pm. So that was disappointing. Nonetheless, our server Brandon was kind and apologetic about the wait time on the food and a small incident that occurred. Overall, we enjoyed the food and will be back to try other dishes.

Listen here! This place has exceeded my expectations! Nice swanky spot up downtown Chicago. The twist on classic soul food recipes has me raving about this place! I brought my husband for his 33rd birthday along with our 6 kids and then menu had enough options to satisfy all of us! Our 1 year old was getting down!. The hostess Candice was top tier. She engaged in conversation with our littles and brought the awesome lollipops for them. Our server Carlie (hope I spelled it right lol) was Dope As F**k!! We just love her energy her ability to serve us and our children is something I won't ever forget as a dining experience! But enough about my service get y'all ass down here to the L station some body granny passed the recipes down and it's heaven on a plate!!!🗣️

I walked in with no reservations and they sat me down quickly and was assisted fast. Chris was a great server with great vibes ,answered all of my questions about the food options and was very helpful. I loved this place the music and definitely the food.
I got the wing platter and the jerk chicken sent me through the top along with the lamb chops . I didn’t even need anything else. It was bomb . The Mac and cheese is definitely better than most places but could use a little more seasonings , and the veggie burger was good.if you don’t know what to get get the lamb chops it’s worth it!!

Cocktail service is excellent. Both T and Dasia are awesome. Happy Hour specials make it a reasonable weekday treat. Love the tacos, lemon drops and rum punch. If you're splurging, don't miss the Margarit flight and the Salmon for dinner. One of the most delicious salmon dinners around. A great portion, but not a budget, friendly option. Live DJs on Tuesday make it a VIBE.

I was visiting out of town from Cleveland OH and the vibes were unmatched. Davi our waitress was so professional and friendly it was always a 10/10 experience but she made it way better. Great music was played and the food was so good. When I come back to Chicago I will definitely be coming back. Thank again for the great experience Davi!!!

I didn’t get a chance to actually go and enjoy the food I was truly looking forward to it. I am traveling from out of town and made a reservation for noon, get there for them to say they weren’t opening for another 3 hours. It shouldn’t have been an option to book for that time if they weren’t going to be open. The lack of communication was disheartening. Hopefully in the future I can taste the quality of their food, everything looked amazing.

Worst customer service I ever experienced I had I arrived for my reservation and they did not have single seat for us an with no apology this restaurant's is a joke and there very unprofessional and do not deserve business from my experience.

I recently visited this wonderful black-owned restaurant, and I had a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly nice, kind, and helpful, making me feel right at home. Although I wasn’t a fan of the beans I ordered, they promptly replaced them with a different side without any hesitation.

But the highlight of my visit was definitely Jada, the bartender. She is hands down the best bartender in town! The drinks she crafted were absolutely delicious, and her friendly demeanor made my evening even better. I can't wait to come back and enjoy more of what this amazing place has to offer!

My mother found this restaurant from Tiktok so we stopped in for brunch with our family and we enjoyed ourselves. The food was very fresh, well seasoned, and tasty. I had the chicken and waffles which I loved. The honey and hot sauce was delicious on the chicken. My toddler had eggs and fried chicken and she really enjoyed it. It had the vibes and decor. The music was just a tad bit too loud but their playlist was really great. Our server was Brandon and he was friendly, funny, he constantly checked on us, and made sure we were having a good time.

Came here on some last minute, hungry vibes. We were originally told 1 hour for the wait time, however it was only a 25 minute wait which was even better for us. Jada was our server and she was wonderful from the customer service to the recommendations. Everything she recommended was delicious and her service was wonderful. We will definitely be back to visit again.

This was my first time in Chicago and the L was recommended & I must say I’m glad it was. This brunch spot is definitely 10/10 highly recommended from our food, to the vibes & our server Jada was so awesome really nice and made sure we were comfortable.

My mother and I came to Chicago for the weekend for a quick birthday getaway and had an opportunity to visit the L Station. We were greeted with phenomenal service from the entire staff. We personally were waited on by T and he was such a pleasure. T thanks for the recommendations and everything was good as promised. We really enjoyed the salmon and shrimp bites as well as the BBQ turkey tips. We will definitely be back.

I had the worst experience and I am still freaked out about what happened today. I was so disappointed in there sincerity of the issue that occured. Very insensitive staff. I would never go back there. I only had water and I'm traumatized 😫.

The L Station offers flavorful dishes ( I had the Salmon Bites, Shrimp Bites, and Lamb Mac n' Cheese), and attentive service, a few factors dampened my overall impression.

The intimate setting can feel a bit cramped, especially during peak hours. Additionally, the bar's chair height might make it difficult to easily enjoy your meal (but I did love that they had purse hooks). Lastly, the pervasive smoke will leave an unwanted scent on clothes and hair.

Despite these minor drawbacks, my dining experience was enjoyable. I'd come back but only if I have a reservation for a table and if I was planning to go straight home afterwards to wash my hair.

Also of note: They play music with explicit lyrics.

First time here and the service is amazing. Everyone is so sweet especially Jada our server/bartender. I got an espresso martini which I’m usually picky about but they made it perfectly. I will definitely recommend to friends in the future and come back the next time I’m in town!
