This store is fantastic! Shot out to Ryan for helping us gear up our girls to play this great sport. We were never left wondering aimlessly, with multiple employees asking if we needed assistance. Just fantastic customer service.

Needed Ice Skates to go. Went to Geppetto's Skate Shop. They only dealt with Figure Skates.
They recommended dropping by here to Pure Hockey. I was welcomed by 2 people at the same time. Chris helped pick out my skates, freshly baked them 😂 and was overall super helpful (my finger was bleeding so he helped tying) Kudos to you for the help this morning. Thoroughly enjoyed the entire Experience including the new Tech Feet scanner ✨

Not a fifth star due to the fact that no one greeted me at the door, and no one asked me if I needed assistance while shopping for a hockey stick, sticks. Didn't get any attention while leaving the facility either. No worries as the store was a bit busier than expected. Will stop again however as I enjoy the hockey selections of gear.

Pure Hockey is the best by far! Always greeted with a great attitude and awesome customer service. One of the few companies these days that truly cares about its customers. Their Customer service department goes above and beyond to keep their customers happy. Gentleman named Benjamin Lampert from the customer service department helped me recently and was such a breath of fresh air. Wish every company I have dealt with had the same attitude to keep the customers happy. Pure Hockey will be the only place I buy hockey gear! Keep up the good work guys!

This is the biggest hockey store I have ever seen. They literally have just about everything you could need for your player. You can spend hours just looking at all the gear and accessories. Very busy place, was absolutely hopping on a Saturday, midday.

Horrible service 8/23 I went in to buy 2 sets of youth skates and 2 new sticks for season. Stood around and no one could even acknowledge us so we left and have a new go to at B&R, great service great pricing and exactly the same products.

Great place to buy a thousand of the same item in the same color. Lacking variety in brands, items, colors, price point. Not sure what the deal is with these stores to me is seems the person(s) in charge with supply don't have much in common with hockey and players needs. Generic, amateur hour overall. Better deals and options online any day.

Drove over an hour to see ALEX based off of others recommendations.
He did not disappoint!
Took his time fitting my son for his goalie gear and then wrote EVERYTHING they spoke about so we didn’t forget.
Above and beyond.
I will continue to drive an hour just to support this location for having great employees.

Manger Mike Ciukaj was excellent. I had a problem with my skates and he took the time to try and correct the problem. He is very knowledgeable, kind, takes pride in his job and is a great asset to your store. I really appreciated his effort and time. I want to send a shout out to Chris for how well he took care of me this morning. I came in with some ill fitting skates, and he worked with me to rebake and punch them out. It was one of the better experiences I’ve had in a pro shop, local place or big chain. With this kind of service there is no reason to shop anywhere else - thank you!

I went there looking just to find out what size goalie helmet I would need, but came out with so much more info I could have. The goalie gear specialist,Alex, was so helpful I ended up needing a new stick and skates and helped me find everything. Plus if you ever need help taking stuff to your car like synthetic ice tiles or something else they will help you carry everything.

Love Pure Hockey. They've only gotten better over the years. I don't leave a lot of reviews, but whether I need their customer service over the phone or in the local store over at Downers, they always come through.

Went in for skates and stick. Think I worked with a guy named Danny. Didn't have the skates but helped with stick. Just really goid customer service and felt like I was listened to.

I came in with my son’s broken skate just before closing on a Monday. They were able to fix it and couldn’t be nicer 100% recommend them.

I have been delaying purchasing skates for so long, afraid they were going to hurt or I would buy the wrong size and then hate them after I skated on them. I was delighted to have met Vincent , he was not only knowledgeable , but extremely kind and considerate about me getting the right skates . Can’t thank you enough Vincent and Pure Hockey ! 😀

Never have been a hockey player but needed a helmet for box lacrosse. The guy that helped me was great. He showed me a couple different styles and let me try on a few. And while I didn't buy right that second due to my wallet being at work, he still did more than enough to get me to come back to buy a helmet. Great place to shop at!

Assistant manager Dominic was a huge help to make sure that everything we needed, we got and that it fit right, and that we knew how to adjust and maneuver all the equipment. It took a lot of time, and the effort was absolutely the reason we will come back.

The best hockey store I've ever visited.
We wanted to buy some hockey equipment for my son before Christmas.
The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They spent the time to help us choosing the right skate and a couple of other things.
The whole place had a great atmosphere, it was a pleasure to shop there.

One of the best hockey stores we have visited. My daughter is a goalie and needed new equipment for college. We worked with their goalie specialist, Alex, who couldn't have been more knowledgeable, helpful and patient. By the end of our experience, he had every pad, blocker and glove out to give my daughter all the options available. He was amazing!!! Thank you Alex and Pure Hockey for a wonderful experience.

For some reason the custom hockey gloves I ordered from Pure Hockey corporate got sent to Downers Grove instead of my home address. Facing a 5 hour drive to go and pick them up, I phoned the Downers Grove location to see if they had arrived. Not only had they arrived, the gentleman I spoke to said he'd be happy to ship them to my address free of charge. To say I was (pleasantly) stunned is an understatement. 2 days later they were on my doorstep. Amazing. Huge thanks to the team at Pure Hockey Downers Grove for their assistance!

I am conflicted with this review. Nick S helped me with finding the last few things I needed for my son to begin playing the sport and he was AMAZING! Very patient and sweet, and he appropriately determined my needs and provided explanations for why I needed specific things and how it would benefit my son’s experience. Nick (2 Nicks-I know kind of funny) helped me at the register and he was also very sweet. There was a problem processing my payment initially and he asked Dominic for help. Dominic could clearly not be bothered to offer assistance to neither me nor Nick. He rushed through an explanation and kept walking away. Since I’m in the business of training and coaching I found this off putting. Nick found someone else-didn’t catch his name-to patiently help him and was very empathetic in wrapping up my transaction. So my two Nicks and the other gentleman receive 5 stars, and Dominic would get 1.

Bought a pair of skates today. This has never been an easy task, as I have a high volume foot. Vito helped me first with options over the phone, then he took the time to make sure i really tried out both pairs of skates we narrowed it down to in the store. He explained the pros and cons of the skates and how they would generally break in. I settled on Bauer Supreme 3S. Vito also helped me with a few other details. Thank you to Vito and Pure Hockey Downers Grove.

I’ll start out by saying I play goalie and the selection at this pure hockey is above average. Now the downfall of it all is they do not have a huge selection of full right gear, especially for goalie sticks. They had a total of 4 full right goalie sticks and 2 of them were intermediate.

Now the part that bugged me the most, NOT ONE pure hockey associate came to help me. I was trying on a new chest and pants. I had a ton of questions but no one seemed like they wanted to help.

Doesn’t seem like they have someone who is goalie knowledgeable.

I’ve been an avid Pure Hockey customer for around five years now. I’ve been to all the locations but being a goalie my options are usually limited to either this location or glenview. (If you have the choice- goto glenview!!) The workers at this downers grove location are so rude and ignorant I often feel like I’m bothering them just by being in the store. I feel extremely uncomfortable with asking any questions, or for input. I know people have bad days but I can’t tell you a time I’ve been to this location and had a good experience. They can’t answer any of my questions and god forbid if I go in to make a return I get so much attitude I regret I didn’t just shop online. One associate in particular- Payton was so rude to me and my family that I will never return to this store again. My son left so upset he felt like he did something wrong and all we did was make a return. Were always pleasant and kind and friendly when shopping and I don’t understand why a “professional” staff for a major company can’t extend the same courtesy.

It seems like every week the kids have some grand new idea of a sport or other activity they want to do. I try to let them within reason explore different stuff to find their passion. This time it was hockey, they got my son totally decked and out with all the gear and when he wound up loving it they even sharpened his skates.

Great Inventory, the place looks great if you can get help. Got there 30 minutes before closing ready to buy a pair of CCM Ultra Tacks for myself , there was one other customer being helped at the cash register. My son and I were totally ignored for 25 minutes. The employees disappeared into the back room, finally one came up and told us they are closing in 5 minutes. Needless to say I ordered my Skates on Amazon. I hope management see my post and have a word with the employees, you lost a $700 Sale.

Worth every single penny. I love this place. For those who say..."I can get it cheaper online" I say.....don't do that. For the few extra percentage points you get an immediate selection, great knowledge, great service and it's GOOD for America to keep places like this in business. DON'T BE CHEAP. Find the value and be willing to pay for it. Hockey is good for you and this place is good for hockey

Simply the best TH location around. The service is excellent. Matt & JJ can sharpen the hell outta some skates. In fact, I was talking with them about skating, and changing a blade profile. Needless to say the recommendation give was better than a profile change. It's also very chill, they are easy to talk with, and friendly, which to me it the difference between this and other locations.
