Maybe I’ll just stick to coming in here at night. I paid $6.99 for bread .. I told them no onions, no tomatoes and light lettuce but I didn’t tell them light on the meat.. I normally come here at night and there’s another guy working there making the sandwiches and he does them right.. Also, the lady working in the window wasn’t friendly. I literally have a piece of meat split in two .. insane ..

Sandwich was ok, Garlic fries were greasy and completely undercooked and underseasoned. $22 for a meal that wasn't worth $10. I've been loving Mr. Sub since I was a kid but this is completely unacceptable.

Paid $12.49 for a king Roast Beef which in itself is ridiculous. Got it home took it apart and it had hardly any veggies on it at all. If you are going to charge $12.49, then don't skimp on the lettuce, tomato,onion. I felt like I just got stuck up for 12.50. Sub was good but put some fricken tomatoes and lettuce on the sandwich.

This was my first and last time eating at this establishment (DOWNERS GROVE), I am highly disgusted with the food service that I received! I ate majority of a molded sandwich without even noticing until I was almost done eating the whole sandwich. I thought maybe it was a difference in location why the sandwich tasted a little different from Bellwoods location that I frequently Dine at. I have been sick to my stomach all night and the next day!

Employees just do whatever they want at this location. 6:30 and doors are locked and nobody is at drive thru window. Says they close at 10. Telling my family and workers not to waste anymore money at this unprofessional establishment!!

Go somewhere else. The meat seems manufactured. I ordered a king club with light mayo and it came with plenty of mayo and giardiniera, which I did not ask for. Even if I did ask for the giardiniera it was way too much. The entire sandwich was covered in the giardiniera grease/oil. Hope this helps. Won't be going back.

I have always loved Mr. Sub, and this one is about 5-6 years old; it's still very good, cheap, and most importantly this is one of the cleanest locations I have been to. It's in a great suburb and stays open very late; which is rare for most suburban restaurants.

I'm appalled that they charge what they do for sub par food. They were out of the meat for my sandwich. I got a different one. They gave me a pizza puff. It was not actually deep fried like it should be. They are lazy and don't seem to care. It's pathetic for a newer location. Guess I have to keep going to the original 3 locations found in Berwyn, Cicero or Brookfield. Also, the meat proportions are off. I'd Rather go to a subway than this location. I hope this location fails or the owner of this franchise makes this work. I guess I'll share this with all my friends in the industry in hope they fix something I grew up with.

I used to frequent the location in Joliet. They were great!
But I've moved to Naperville and now this location is closest to me. Today is the 2nd time, I've come here. Good food as usual, prices have gone up. But worst of all is the service provided by the young girl at the counter for the second time. Not friendly at all, almost rude and seems bothered to be working. This does not seem like a good fit for her or your restaurant. Please utilize this feedback to train her on customer service skills.Friendliness, courteous and smile when you see clients, because from what I see when I've come in to sit down, there is no customers dining in. Or simply move on to a more professional and friendly cashier. The front person in a restaurant is the face of your business and represents everyone else... Due to this experience, I may not come back.

They gave me the wrong food! When I got home I was MAD 😠 😡 as Hell! I ordered King Mr. Sub toasted, and given a turkey sandwich with alot of onions tomatoes and turkey w/a ton of mayo. The kicker for this was, I was driving home from work, and anyone would understand you wouldn't turn back around in traffic to settle a score about getting 🙄 the order correct!! I just won't go back to that location anymore off Ogden Rd!! Mr. Submarine in Chicago are ALWAYS BETTER!! I've gotten this many times, it had nothing I usually get, no salami, no ham, no cheese, no oil/vinegar/oregano...here's another fact, I went through the drive thru and I was the only customer. There was no one in front/behind me/nor there was no one in the restaurant. So, how can u screw up the order? That is beyond, my mind and recognition, but it sounds like they didn't care, and I paid approx $19 for King Mr. Sub and a Gyro sandwiches w/no fries!!!

The store inside was open and very clean. We dined in and ordered subs, gyro, loaded fries, and a hot dog. All food was delicious and hit the spot. Excellence amount of meat, onions and other toppings. Prompt and pleasant service at the counter. Easy to get in and out of parking.

I don't know what happened to this place. My Italian Beef had no Italian seasoning and was gross 😫 plain tasting. The soup that we come for every time burned and blistered our touches. Once it cooled down it was gross. We had a very hard time trying to explain this in English to the Spanish speaking people working there. ** 2/5

I keep trying again. Today was my last attempt, I won’t be back. Despite loving the food, the girl that works there that works the drive thru, is SO rude!! She acts like she is doing me a favor and I’m bothering her. I have told the manager several times and they don’t seem to care. It’s sad to not go to a place that has good for, because the staff is awful. I don’t understand how she is still working with customers. Have her take out the trash and clean bc she her attitude is total garbage.

***update: filled out the contact form that the responder requested. Heard back from the owner’s assistant. She said the owner would reach out. Never heard from the owner. Clearly even the owner doesn’t care about this customer service issue. Hopefully he pays attention before he goes out of business.

Food was good. The girl in drive-thru had horrible customer service skills. If you, don't like your job you should quit. It isnt the customers fault you work fast food. And, how is there no manager on duty. I guess you will just hire anyone nowadays. I will not order from there again if she is working. I will take my money and business elsewhere. Customer service is key.

The service was okay for what it is but the food just isn't where it's at. I got the Philly cheese steak and it was horrible. The meat tasted old and was very thin and dry. The bread tasted like it was toasted on a old dirty grill.

Went there today and the lady who served us had a major attitude, very uncalled for, I will never come back to this location again specifically because of her, as you can read in other comments she has been like this with other customers. She comes off as racist. Too many other similar restaurants in the area to deal with that. My garlic fries were supposed to be in a container like the cheese fries, instead they left them in a paper bag and they greased all the way though. There is a lot less vegis on the subs now. Prices went way up, Joliet location is a lot cheaper. It wouldn't kill them to wipe off a table or sweep the floor either.

Do not sleep on Downers Grove's Mr. Sub's grilled chicken salad. The grilled chicken at this location is the best so far. They make it fresh at this location. I have been to several other Mr. Subs and they are not the same.

If you are ever in the area, you HAVE to try this place!! The hot corned beef sub is my favorite thing to eat there, but all the food is good! The staff is very friendly and helpful! They are very good about excepting coupons, and you have to get on their birthday rewards program!

Greetings, I order a veggie sub tonight at 937pm, I asked the lady to add extra cucumbers and add red onions. The veggie sub comes with banana peppers, green bell pepper white onions, tomatoes, and cheese. First thing I noticed is the sandwich was not the correct size I ordered for, secondly I unwrap the sandwich and I separate the bread third thing I noticed was the missing veggies, it was half a sliced of green pepper and all cucumber, the cheese was molded and stuck on the third slice of cheese was a FLY, not just any FLY, a big FLY was stuck on a slice of cheese, and the FLY was still moving, the wing on the 🪰 was moving. I immediately called the restaurant like four times, finally the same lady answered the phone the fifth time I called. I expressed my concerns in details, She began to get irate with me, going back and forth with me telling me that she prepared the veggie sub the correct way. She call me a liar, and told me to bring the sandwich back to the restaurant to get a refund. Then she hangs the phone up on me while I'm talking. Twenty minutes later I arrive to Mr. SUBMARINE. she came to drive thur with the same rude, disrespectful, and ignorant attitude, I ask her, why are you yelling at me. I told her that I just wanted my refund, you told me you will refund me. I never got my refund back after making a second trip to the restaurant. She kept the sub that I brought back. Previously she lied to me, saying that she will refund me. I told her that I wasn't leaving until I get my full refund back. I gave her back the sandwich and they both refused to refund me, and then they call the police on me. I have proof on my phone of the sandwich and the phone call was recorded. I didn't get their name. but I have a description of both employees. The guy is black, shaggy looking, dusty looking, dirty finger nails, no hair cut, no clean shave face and heavy set, he wasn't wearing gloves at the time. The young lady was full figure, and white/Hispanic, she had on a cap, her was hanging, no hair net, no ponytail. Both employees was hostile, cruel, disrespectful, and ignorant. Both employees were not wearing gloves. They call their manager to talk to the police over the phone. The two gave a false report trying to get me arrested, telling the police I was a threat. However, It didn't work. I wasn't charged with anything. I never once disrespected the two vicious employees. My only loss was money for A INFESTED SUBMARINE. Don't just take my word. READ THE REVIEWS PEOPLE! IT'S SAYS A LOT ABOUT THE MANAGER/OWNER! I REPEAT THE CHEESE WAS MOLDED AND THERE WAS A BIG FLY 🪰 STUCK ON THE THIRD SLICE OF CHEESE. I SUGGEST YOU ALL DON'T EAT FROM Mr. SUBMARINE AT THE DOWNERS GROVE LOCATION. When I was waiting for the police, I saw/watch BOTH EMPLOYEES PREPARED A SANDWICH WITH NO GLOVES ON! I WAS PARK IN FRONT OF THE DRIVE THUR WINDOW. GOD is POWERFUL, and Karma is real! Lying on a regular customer won't get you far in life. FOR THE PEOPLE THAT'S GOING TO ORDER FROM THIS INFESTED RESTAURANT, PLEASE CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE EAT IT, THANK YOU. 😊

I don't like this place! They always seem to mess up my food! I only go because of the majority rules. And YES I REFUSE to give them another order. Even the woman at the window Wednesday on 1/25 lacked customer service skills. Our driver spoke, her reply was the amount due. And no she was not being flirted with. It was a simple hello, prior to payment. It cost nothing to be courteous. The prices continue to increase (everywhere) while the portions and service go DOWN!

Mr. sub was the only shop in town that offered a 3 foot party sub. The staff was super courteous. And took my order with pleasure and swiftness. I arrived the day after and they delivered the hefty sub all the way to my car. After several frustrating visits to area Subway shops who advertised the same party sub, but couldn’t deliver on what they advertised, Mr Submarine’s extraordinary service was a very satisfying experience. I will be going back as often as I can.

Since I live nearby Mr. Submarine and have been coming here for the past 15 years, thought it was time for a 10 STAR review. My wife and I have always been impressed with the friendly and courteous service from the staff either at the drive up window or when we have dined in. Clean restaurant in the lot as well as inside dining. We have tried so many different items off the menu and have never been dissatisfied. We have recently been hooked on the Gyro Plate. Large portions served with tzatziki sauce, olives, onions, tomatoes and a decent amount of fries. Can't go wrong and soooo gooood.

Phone ordered Italian beef combo, that comes with sausage. Got it home and opened it for dinner, only to find that the sausage was missing. Was so hungry, I ate half the sandwich before I called the restaurant about the missing sausage. They would not accept that the sausage was missing. They hung up on me. I called repeatedly for about 10 minutes before they picked up. I repeated everything again and then they agreed to give me the missing sausage.
I would have let it go had they accepted the mistake. Instead they dug in as if I was asking for an arm and a leg.

I'm in Bolingbrook and order from here so I don't have to take an hour round trip but I'm usually disappointed. There is never enough lettuce or oil on my sandwiches and today I requested extra and it's like they dipped the entire sandwich in it; practically inedible. They also forgot my daughter's sub so I had to get that refunded. The delivery fee is also pretty outrageous through Uber Eats, which I'm assuming is because of the distance, but it's honestly not worth it.

Mr. Sub in Berwyn is the real MVP.

DO NOT ORDER CATERING AT THIS LOACATION. This place has a letter on the door from March of 2020 that the inside is closed which is a huge pain when you are picking up big orders. Curb side is great but when you want to check your order and get condiments it's no fun

My 1st visit to this location, the service was good

Overpriced food, quality was not good at all. $20+ for a "lunch special" sandwich medium drink and garlic seasoned cheese fries. Sandwich was large but mostly bread and the taste was not good, fries were seasoned but not really garlicky, cheese sauce was mediocre at best. No dine- in available. I can't recommend this place. I won't be going back.

Subs are amazing. Service was ok they did mess up my order but were quick to fix it. Upsetting dinning room was not open and hasn't been open in years.

I got a hot pastrami and Swiss and garlic fries and fried pickles. Sadly, just not as good as I thought it would be. What I ordered cost $26 and I gave the drive-thru guy 30 and said keep it. He was very appreciative. Also, store was not open, drive-thru only. I imagine that is because of labor shortage. Still would have liked to have gone in to the store.

I have been going to Mr. Submarine since the 80s, but moved out of the area. Then I discovered the Downers Grove location, and it was fantastic. And now my son is craving these awesome subs all the time. Incredibly fresh bread, generous portions. My son says this is now his favorite place.

This is the 2nd time I order the Buffalo chicken cheese fries from this location & i’m disappointed. It’s like $9 but they be stingy with the cheese, Joliet location does it better☹️

This was my first and last time eating at this establishment (DOWNERS GROVE), I am highly disgusted with the food service that I received! I ate majority of a molded sandwich without even noticing until I was almost done eating the whole sandwich. I thought maybe it was a difference in location why the sandwich tasted a little different from Bellwoods location that I frequently Dine at. I have been sick to my stomach all night and the next day!

My last experience was AWFUL! They mess up my your order, it's reported to them. I'm told to bring back the messed up order on my next trip. How about this? D I S P U T E the charges, then on my next trip... Oh I won't be going back! This PANDEMIC is allowing them to put out poor quality and still charge more!

Quick and easy place to get subs without even having to leave the comfort of your car! Ordered the veggie sub, it was okay, bread was good, veggie were not proportionally cut, made it real weird to eat since I got like a 1/2 inch thick bell pepper slice on half the sandwich. The Mac and cheese bites were okay. The sauce options are limited, wish you had more to choose from, overall decent place.

I've been here 3 or 4 times and have not been disappointed. The portions are big and the food is tasty. I like that that have a drive thru too. They also have a good selection on their menu and prices are decent.

It had been a long time since eating at Mr. Submarie but one bite took me back to the first time I ate there with my brother who introduced my to Gyro meat. Very pleasant memory 😊👍

Sandwiches are not what they use to be, kids running store store seem to believe that there doing you a favor by being there.
Understand Covid and shorthand help but they don't seem to care about much, just throwing sandwiches together and saying here ya go.

My only suggestion would be to have 2 menus on the drive thru so you can figure out what you want while you're waiting on line. The menu is very extensive, the drive thru is always busy and it could speed things along to have a second menu board to look at while in line. Food is always fresh and delicious!

Tried to call in order 3 times and no answer. This place is 15 minutes out of my way on my ride to work. I wasted 30 minutes of my day basically. Got there at 1115pm and was told the grill was down. It was probably just already cleaned and they did not want to use it. Poor customer service. Should always take care of your customers. If you're open until midnight, anything on the menu should be available. If the grilled really down, shouldn't a sign be posted on the drive thru? Unacceptable.
