My Place Hotel-North Aurora, IL

Upon check-in, the front desk clerk was friendly and helpful. Parking was pletiful and access to the building was close to all parking. The room and bathroom were very clean, air conditioning worked well. Hotel is dog and cat friendly, for an extra charge. The fridge is a good size and has an ice maker. We did not use the cooktop or microwave, but it is a nice addition for a longer stay. I will stay here again if I am in the area and will look for a MyPlace when staying in other areas. I travel across this country a lot, and stay at my place quite a bit. And generally do like My Place. To start, there is not much parking and had to drive in circles for about a half hour to wait for someone to pull out of their parking place. Then first thing that I noticed when I walked in the lobby of the hotel there was a very pungent pot smell. This is not what I was expecting especially since the other My Place Hotels have a strict nonsmoking rule. I mentioned the smell but didn’t get much of a reaction. Then I head up to my room and the smell in the room also was not that pleasant. It had a burnt food kinda smell to it. I do travel with 2 dogs which is why I like staying here at My Place. But for $190 a night, this experience had seriously made me reconsider them going forward on this trip, and have booked a different hotel on my next stop. Please try to do better. Your team could do something about the pot smell if they wanted to. There are 2 My Place that are by far superior, and would be worth the trip to Minneapolis Minnesota and Hastings Nebraska, to see what they do right. I don’t mean to seem so negative but after a long day of driving you want to come to a clean hotel, one that does not smell and that has ample parking for its . When traveling Everything should be as smooth as possible.

This is a great location and a great hotel. The kitchenette was very covenient. We didn't hear any outside noise from our room and the hotel has plenty of essentials if you forget anything. The staff was very nice and the hotel was clean. There are restaurants within walking distance.

Good for longer stays with a full kitchen and a well stocked bathroom of towels. With few amenities, this is a simple, no frills accomodation best suited for those who want a quiet, cozy, super cleab room to come back to and recharge. With the bed and pillows being comfortable, you just need to bring your favorite coffee/tea to make fresh in a full size coffee pot, and your favorite foods to prep on the stove stop and microwave. Perfect for its name, you make it "your place."

We loved “My Place”! It was clean and spacious. Very well laid out. It felt brand new. Full kitchen! Loved the patio out back. The Staff was friendly and helpful. Had a nice little store with food and essential items. Reasonably priced. Moose members get a discount!

A Stove but no pots n pans? If they have not way to cook then remove the stove. They apparently sell pots n pans. But there is not a dishwasher in the room. They hould just eliminate the stove or out pots n pans in the room. I stayed for three days. Bought some food to cook...

This place was horrible. Roaches crawling around when reported it to front desk lady at front desk handed me a can of raid. Worst hotel and experience l. When called the hotel corporate office to make a complaint about the stay they were just as bad. I hope this places knows they will be reported to Better business bureau for lack of respect and honesty horrible customer service. Don’t waste your money.Staff extremely rude and unprofessional.

I had a miscommunication on behalf of the staff here over the Fourth of July weekend and was able to get it resolved with the hotel management. They offer very reasonable prices and are great to work with.

July 2023. Disappointed, found water bottles beside and under the bed, a pair of underpants under the bed, a piece of pretzel on the floor, mirror was not cleaned. And no discount- think I should have gotten a discount. Staff was nice and friendly. **They did then give us a discount, and came in and cleaned the room. There are NO pots/pans, silverware with the kitchen

BEST hotel staff ever. Hotel is close to entertainment, restaurants, shopping. Perfect for family of Aurora University students, location is very close to campus. Rooms: Very clean. Nearby activities: Attended the Christkindlmarket 2023 near Fox Valley River. Food and drinks: Close to several restaurants.

We we very happy with the room. A full refrigerator, stove top, microwave and friendly staff. They haveba chef who cooks a real breakfast. Its not free, but you are getting great service here. We will stop here again. Nearby activities: Close to great shopping and restaurants.

Long term guests will have a great time as well as the short term guests. Full size refrigerator, two burner stove top, usual microwave, as well as large sink. Theres a spacious room plus a table and two chairs for dining. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was quite large also. Nice eateries and shopping within walking distance or a short drive. Very clean and modern.

Hotel was very clean and well maintained. Located in a quiet area minutes from shopping and food. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Having a kitchenette was a real bonus with the full size fridge and microwave as I was staying there for quite a while. The hotel felt well built as the only sound I really heard was from doors being closed in the hallway. I also never felt like I was disturbing anyone else. The only drawback was the mattress as it was too firm. Wouldnt have been a big deal except this is an extended stay place so the effect was cumulative. Safety: I felt safe leaving the hotel, it was in a good area. Important since I was traveling alone as a woman Food and drinks: Next to a couple of restaurants within walking distance of hotel. The rest you had to drive to but was not inconvenient as it was very well placed for access to a variety of bars and restaurants.

Found hairs in the bed and the bathroom upon arrival. We had just driven several hours and it was almost midnight otherwise we mightve requested a different room. The rest of the hotel and the staff were nice but we were kind of grossed out to find so many hairs in our room. Cleanliness is probably the most important part of any hotel stay imo.

The best part was House Keeping! Why? My room was cleaner than my last stay at Holiday Inn, Marriott and the Hilton establishments! Seriously, and my lost and found experience was exemplary!

The water from the shower is so small that it takes a long time to rinse yourself off, the shower holder was broken and I had to fix it while showering. My body felt very itchy and uncomfortable after taking a shower (I used my own body wash and used it for a while, Im sure its not the body wash). The room was dry but nice and quiet. Another downside was that the lift was broken and I really didnt want to exercise my body by climbing the stairs in the middle of the night.

Was very quiet. The room design was pleasing compared to its competition (extended stay). Much more modern than most cheap, short stay hotels. Nearby activities: Aurora outlet mall is 10 minutes away. Almost any store is restaurant is within 5-10 minutes. Safety: Couldnt be any safer. Located 5 minutes from Batavia and 10 minutes from Geneva. Food and drinks: Walking distance to the Turf Room. Great American food and drinks in a decadent setting. Pricing is very fair. Nice evening out.

We reserved a room with a group. I m a dialysis patient who has to carry my supplies with me only to arrive at this hotel and be placed on in the third floor with the elevator down. My husband had his big toe amputated and had a boot on left to carry my supplies and luggage up the flights of stairs. The elevator has been down for a while and i feel they should ve made sure no one with disabilities reserved rooms. It was a horrible experience. That was my first and last time ever starting at my place hotels. I talked the manager and he gave an apology saying the elevator would cost $10,000 to get fixed, that s their problem, not mine also the phone didn t work in my room.

Ive stayed twice in this same hotel and I slept peacefully. Both times Ive had minor inconveniences and both times management has apologized and made note of them. I would go back especially because of the location..it is in a quiet area. Theres a Woodmans grocery store thats open 24hours in just a 4 minute drive plus plenty of options to eat out around that area or just a few miles around it. Youll spend over 100 a night for a single person. Rooms: Comfortable beds ,pillows, full fridge and kitchen. Decent bathrooms.

We stayed for 2 nights here with our dogs. The hotel itself was clean, as well as our room. We didn t need customer service so can t really give feedback on that. Otherwise, comfy bed but seemed smaller than a Queen which we booked.

I drove 16 hours to get there. It was nice not amazing but i was so tired i didnt care. We got up to our room so tired and ready to crash. But our neighbors decided to have a rave next door it went on past 11 when i finally called the front desk who ask them to stop. Then they started again all night with there music fighting and there dogs barking. We left at 2 am becUse there was no chance of sleep and i just wanted to be home at that point. With zero sleep we load up and tell the lady we are leaving and why. She trys again to get them to hush and she is threatened by this guy and never calls the cops. So i paid 180 for a room for the night i couldnt use. They did refund the pet fee of 30 dollars. But he (manager) would never call me to work it out. He had his staff take care of it. That is not a manager. 1. When people are that bad they should be made to leave. 2. Your staff needs more protection. 3. You need to take responsibility to talk to the people who need to hear from you. I was never rude or hateful but you should have made this right.

First room smelled so bad : like a wet dog. Second room was okay. Cleanliness is not at the top of their list but should be. No breakfast but has a little kitchen but no utensils no plates, cups etc so you really cant use the kitchen. Lol.

5 STARS. Very clean. Exceptional staff. I had a minor surgery prior to staying and they had no problem giving me a couple extra pillows. Then I lost a sentimental piece of jewelry and not only were they able to locate it after my departure, their manager called me personally and shipped it to me. Its the little things. I will definitely be returning next time I am in town!

Went to check in for our reservation. First room, was already occupied when we entered the room. 2nd room smelled like wet dog. 3rd room was fine except we had reserved a king bed, and was given two bed. Never had any issues prior to this trip at this location. Will continue to stay here when in Batavia. Staff was very accommodating and apologized several times. No problem, glitches happen.

Stayed there last week for one night. I ve stayed here before and it was nice. This time the room I had (which was the only left) smelled very strongly like mold. After little while you would smell it until you left and came back in the room. It gave me a bad headache. Also the toilet seat was broken and had red gross tint around the screw area. It was very gross. Also found left over fortune cookie in the kitchen drawer. I emailed the hotel with no response at all. I paid over 100 dollars to stay here and it was gross and gave me a bad headache.. be careful there

We were pleasantly surprised by the room. Nice size room, full fridge with ice maker, sink ,stove, microwave and a recliner made of real leather and even the bedding and towels were high quality. The room was so clean, we thought we may have been the first occupants.We will definitely stay there again. The only thing it needed was one of those tall lighted signs so you can find it easier at night.

We stayed here for 14 days. $1600.00. Because of covid garbage pickup was supposed to be every Sunday, Full service every Wednesday. The last time anyone came to our room was 2 Wednesdays ago. Thats 10 days. I kept calling and going in person to the front desk to ask for at least garbage pickup every day for the last week. Each time, I was told that it would be taken care of. They even said they would notify the hotel manager. I even was told that there would be a message sent to the service persons phone. Never kept any of their promises. Couldnt wait to get out of that place. And here is the icing on the cake. I woke up this morning and found out our refrigerator wasnt working. Lost all the food we had in the freezer and fridge. All that money I spent staying here and such terrible service. And you would think there would be a free breakfast for what they are charging? No. You have to order a breakfast sandwich and a few things to go with it before 8pm. the night before, and they charge you full price for it. They dont even give you a free bottle of water. Their kitchenette has a full-size coffee maker, a toaster, and an electric stove top. No pots or pans to cook with. No utensils like spoons, forks, or knives. You will have to buy a fry pan or a cooking pot.

Beautiful, super clean and pet friendly. The best room we had all vacation. The only complaint is the water temperature kept fluctuating when I took a shower and wouldnt stay consistent. If I stay there again and it does the same thing, I would probably have to find a different place.

The stay was ok the beds were horrible some else clothe and socks were under the bed we found a sewing needle under the other bed. The price was fare the location was good and this was the second time staying there cause the first time was good no issues but this time the front desk had no plastic utensils to use unless you buy them.

The price and location was perfect. I would be willing to stay there again, under one condition...work on their cleaning process. I was shocked and surprised to find hair in the refrigerator, all over the shower and under the heating/cooling system by the controls. How in the Sam Hill does hair get in the refrigerator? What that tells me is the housecleaning crew used an old towel to wipe things down. Thankfully, I bring my own disinfecting wipes to clean EVERYTHING!!! I ve been doing this way before the Covid-19 because I ve been witness to so many unclean hotels in the past. I forgot to mention this as I checked out because I had a lot of things on my mind and was headed to a funeral. Nonetheless, despite the cleanliness (or lack thereof), I will be willing to stay again.

Nice stove tops blankets but they dont have professionalism transferring phone calls to rooms. This Hotels phone doesnt offer the option to dial the room number directly but the front desk and hotel managers complained to me. They told my contacts personal and professional that they are tired of transferring calls!? Its 3 floors but Im singled out . Wouldnt the purpose of transferring calls be nostalgic otherwise? Plus I told the front desk my cell phone was having problems but that shouldnt matter, I feel offended, threatened, singled out and humiliated. Why do I still get bullied Now I hate this place hotel.

We had a really bad sewage back up in our home and were told it was inhabitable for the time being. The staff has been so accommodating so far and everything feels homey. Im so thankful we found this hotel. We will DEFINITELY keep coming back here even when our extended stay is over.

The room was clean and nice, quiet, and full fridge and stove. The reason this didn t get a full 5. The bar wasn t open on a Saturday at 8:00; no pool (not advertised, and who knew hotels didn t have pools today?) We got back Saturday at 3:00 and our room had not been cleaned! Lastly, we never left or came back to the Hotel with out people standing in the door smoking; not 30 feet from the door but standing in front of the door to where we had to excuse ourselves on the way through.

Let me just start with saying that the staff there are absolutely amazing they went above and beyond their duty to make sure me and my baby girl were comfortable giving my situation they helped me take my belongings to my room and more the house keeping was impeccable needles to say so was my room and the hotel it self it had a mini stove top kitchen with microwave and refrigerator for you to do your own cooking if you wanted to do so which i really enjoyed and a laundry room if i ever visit this city again i know where Ill be staying for sure q

My familys stay was a great experience. Gloria who check me was great and Emily who check me out was great as well. The room and bathrooms was very clean (as stated in reviews I read prior to my booking). Since our group was 2 adults and 2 children the kitchenette was great to have. Which brings me to why Im giving an overall of 4 stars instead of 5. The kitchen do not include pots/pans or cooking/eating utensils. Someone vacationing would not travel with such items, so it suck to have the kitchen as a selling point just to charge guests for cookware and utensils.

We recently stayed there for a week because we sold our home and our new home out of state wasnt quite ready yet. Very nice and clean new hotel with kitchenettes in each room. We have four kids and it was plenty of room for sleeping. All the staff is very friendly and nice, and helpful with the little ones. Good location. I even left some items in a drawer behind accidentally, and they mailed them to me at my new home free of charge! When we go back home to visit family, we will definitely we staying again!!

What a great place to call your home away from home! I cannot say enough good things about this hotel and its staff. I stayed there for two weeks in April, and the staff really made me feel right at home. The housekeeping staff ensured my room was clean and well-stocked; the folks at the front desk were always engaging and very knowledgeable about area social events and restaurants; and even the assistant manager went out of her way to ensure I was comfortable. Theres always fresh coffee and plenty of snacks in the lobby, and the laundry room is clean with washers and dryers that actually work well. Theres also a small bar on the first floor, but it was closed for the off-season. The hotel is within walking distance of several excellent eateries (Raimondos Pizza & Pub, The Turf Room & Bulldog Ale House), and about a five-minute drive from the Hardware Gastropub, an extraordinary epicurean experience. Barnes & Noble and Costco are a mere 10 minute drive from MyPlace. Its only a five-minute drive from exit 64 of I-88, which leaves you about a 45-minute drive west of downtown Chicago. Two places I heartily recommend are Harners Bakery and Brunos Cheesesteaks, both within a five-minute drive from MyPlace. Harners cinnamon rolls are real show-stoppers, and Brunos cheesesteaks are the best Ive had since I left the Philadelphia area over 15 years ago!

Very unprofessional the two supervisor still have not paid my wife and cooperate still has not done anything about it i do not recommended this place at all if I could give this place zero stars I would they also over charged my card twice on my first stay with them

I loved our room. Comfortable and spacious. Everyone was super nice. If i had to give a complaint it would be the hair dryer has a very short cord, of which, its not hotel fault it is how it was made. Otherwise would highly recommend this hotel. I will be checking into other places that they are located for our vacation this summer.

I just love staying at My place hotels where they have a full bar with an excellent bartender named Tiffany who makes the best drinks! And has great customer service! My room is always so clean thanks to Doris and many more! and the hotel staff who include Yesenia, brailyn and Victoria are always super hospitable. Carol, the general manager who I see often, is always making sure I m well taken care of! I just love staying here! Thanks my place hotel!

Place is brand new and clean. There is a bar here, but no pool and not sure about a workout room. If you get a room with kitchenette, know that you will need to provide everything yourself from plates and silverware to pans and cooking utensils. They do provide plasticware at the front desk if you ask, and the bar was nice enough to lend a few glasses. There is free wifi as well as coffee on the rooms and available 24 hours in the lobby. You also can purchase things like cups, plates, silverware, pans and cooking utensils in the lobby, if you are in a pinch.

This place is nice. Ignore the cheezy logo! Youll find clean, comfortable rooms with kitchenette for a VERY reasonable price.

I LOVE this hotel. You get a full kitchenette included IN the room. The beds are super comfy. I slept like a rock all 3 nights I was here. The employees are very friendly and helpful with directions to other stores in the area. Plus, the price wasnt bad at all for each night. I highly recommend this hotel!!!

Staff was very warm and friendly. Went out of their way to help me out. Room was very spacious. Bed very soft. Even had a recliner. See my pics and you be the judge. Even had kitchen with a full size fridge.

We chose My Place over other extended stay motels we checked out for a number of reasons. It is Extremely easy to access and close to Restaurants a pharmacy grocery stores etc. It was clean and well kept on the outside and as soon as we walked in there were fresh flowers and a very friendly staff in a small but nice clean, bright lobby with a tv. Staff is very willing to help with anything you may need. I found this hotel lacks only a weight room and a pool and the traditional continent breakfast but for that you may pay a higher room right at others... Nice Place to stay over all If you dont require those things. I understand this is a McDonalds owned chain.
