Lara's Bakery 3

We travel an hour to get fresh sugar donuts and Mexican bread, aka pan dulce. Lara is kind and friendly. Her place is very clean and smells like heaven when I walk in. This is a gem.

I had never been to this bakery. But I called them in a rush to get a cake, that I had very little idea of what I wanted, for our granddaughters birthday. I told her please make it fluffy a and ombre. Lol. Terrible description. She made the most beautiful cake. Rose shapes all over the cake colored from pink to light purple. It was beautiful! We have gone back for their in store desserts also. Everything is so good.

I searched for an M'town bakery and this popped up on Maps. So glad I stopped in. Patsy set me up with a sampler bag of items and all were great! The only problem is we should have picked out more items. The bread items were all good and the pastry was spot on, loved the turnover, and the one with cinnamon. And the prices were so reasonable! I will be back every time I come to town. Thanks Patsy!

This place is nice and friendly. My problem with this place is the sweet bread is sitting out by trash cans and that literally just grossed me out. I know they can do better cause the bread is great in taste it's just the cleanliness that worries me A LOT!!!!! I am surprise Health inspector hasn't made a suprise visit to them.

I randomly found this place during a walk and it was the best thing I ever found in Marshalltown. The quality of their products is outstanding, including presentation and taste. Big variety of puff pastries, breads, croissants, palmier, cakes, and more. Budget friendly.

Just had the pastel 3 leches at LA Regia Iowa City. Very good!

Decent corn based baked goods. A bit on the extra dry side. Not communicative unless you speak Spanish. Not overly sugared, which is nice.
