History buffs, we were absolutely thrilled with the museum! The displays are carefully curated and cared for. The information provided is interesting and engaging. Everything is well organized and clean. The staff are all professional and courteous. We enjoyed our visit immensely.

This museum was amazing, and I wish we had had more than a couple hours to devote to it. The exhibits were informative, and the recreation of the storefronts were impressive. The gunfight at high noon was a lot of fun to watch. The ice cream a as delicious. The statues out front wee neat, too. Definitely worth a stop, but allowing three hours would allow for a more relaxing experience.

A lot of history made fun. There is a spot where there are five actors playing famous cowboys all having a conversation. The cool thing about it is that they are in individual tv screens in frames in a room.

The gun fight was historically accurate and funny at the same time. There are about 15-20 actors doing the shootout, so it is well orchestrated.

Very informative museum!!! I really like how you went from learning about the Native inhabitants to how the area was slowly developed into the town it is today. The interactive parts were really cool!!!! I was really impressed by the amount of donated items that represented the mire famous founding fathers of Dodge City. The Cemetery was pretty cool and the Mexican Village, Famous Cowboys and the Gunsmoke exhibits were really cool too! Loved having a Sarsaparilla in The Long Branch and going through the General Store! Really neat place, I was there for several hours. I was there before the summer schedule, ( Memorial Day weekend, I think) and I bet there are great shows!

This is the best Wild West museum I have ever visited. Thousands of artifacts from the era brilliantly displayed. Amazing really. The re-enactors were interesting to talk to about history. Two lovely ladies in period dress greeted us. The place not to miss in Dodge City.

The Boot Hill Museum is amazing! From the exhibits, to the staff, and even the food! Each of those is hard to pull off at any museum, but they tick all the boxes! I recommend the loaded nachos for lunch in the parlor. Be sure to check out the gunfight! Great choreography, stunts, and even some comedy! I stayed for their country dinner and variety show, worth every penny! If you are ever in the area, definitely stop by and support this awesome museum!

There is only a small piece of the cemetary left, but there are many informative exhibits about the town and inhabitants. I am a big fan of the lesser known stories and there are many here. And you can have a beer at the Longbranch even at 10 am.

I stopped in off-season while traveling through. The staff told me it only takes an hour to go through the whole place and was there at opening, so there was no crowd. Three hours later, I realized I was going to fall behind schedule. The place is very well done, very interesting, and zi could have spent the entire day there reading all the placards, watching the videos, and soaking everything in. And that was off-season! I hope to return with my wife and little one during peak season.

Pretty cute place! Good balance of shops and museum spaces and replica rooms. Easy to mull around for a couple of hours if you have the time.

Arrive just before 6pm to get a short introduction to Dodge City and its players through interactive exhibits, then enjoy a staged gunfight show followed by dinner and an old time variety show. Come back the next morning on the same (Marshall) ticket (be sure to have the gift shop sign your receipt the night before so you can!) and visit the cemetery, ice cream parlor, take can can lessons or get deputized. Enjoy some sasparilla, lunch or have an old time photo taken of your group dressed as ruffians or civilized folks! Open yourself to the experiences that can be had and you will find lots to do! Be sure to take in the noon version of the staged gunfight show before you leave as it won't be the same as the night before!

I really wanted to like this place but honestly with the recent price increase I just don’t think it’s worth the price. Maybe it’s because I went in the morning, but the place felt absolutely deserted with no staff and half the places aren’t open until 10 or 10:30 so you’ll have to wait. I think they should just make the opening time later to match this. The museum is very interesting, I do think the interactive exhibits are actually very well done, and the graveyard was a neat experience. But that’s not worth $20. The places I was expecting to be more unique like the saloon and such, didn’t really feel ready even when they finally opened. The local cat is a delight, though!

Honestly, I was disappointed. We read that the Longbranch was the original saloon. Nope, just a replica. The graveyard (well, call it) is a ridiculous joke.
We just expected so much more from the museum. It's not worth the price to get in. Big let down.

Must see. Museum is very well done. Disappointed because we were on the road traveling and didn't have time to take the full tour that you pay $20 a piece for. Had fun walking around the area and took our pictures with Matt Dillon and Doc Holiday statues.

This is a really interesting place! It’s within walking distance of a nicely maintained Amtrak stop. The whole town feels like it has revived bits and pieces of its history (including an old-school brick downtown) while also celebrating a lot of its current mix of cultures. You can walk to a Mexican ice cream shop, a Mexican sweet shop, a Chinese restaurant, Italian… Dodge City has kind of got it going on.

The museum has a lot to see and a decent gift shop. Long Branch Saloon is nice but needs to add a cider to their beers. The show in the yard was not the greatest. Story line was silly and half the audience couldn't hear the actors. The Variety show inside was cute and campy. Singers and actors good. One dancer seemed out of sorts and I found that distracting. It's really the only thing in dodge that feels even though isn't authentic and western.

Visited with the marshalls pass. Highly recommend if you appreciate history. It is a museum so yes the exhibits are behind glass but beautifully done. Love the boardwalk and outdoor space. I like that you can interact with the characters, the sore keeper the marshall etc. Also they put on a good show. Enjoyed the dinner. Parking is close by. 👍👍 REMEMBER to visit the house of stone in town as well!!

This is an excellent museum, me and my husband really enjoyed our day here. There is a lot to see and the exhibits are very well done. There are interactive exhibits that kids would love as well. We got the general admission which gives you access to the entire museum all day and 2 gunfight shows. We went to both gunfight shows as they are different. We did not do the dinner show they have in the evening. This museum is open year round but it is best to go during the summer for a full experience. There was an ice cream parlor that also sold sandwiches where we ate lunch and it was good.

We went to the museum and saw all of the exhibits. The museum pieces are displayed in a manner that makes you feel that you are in an old Western town. There are a great deal of very interesting artifacts. We spent the entire day going through the museum and visiting the deli. The food was good and not overly priced. We stayed for both gunfight shows and really enjoyed them. We did not attend the dinner show so I can't comment on that but the museum is definitely a must if you are in Dodge City.

If you're interested in old west history, this is the place to go. Lots of very detailed displays with a wealth of artifacts. We missed the gun fight, but we heard it was quite exciting. Allow plenty of time, there are many interactive displays, and many interpretive signs.

Went in to gift shop after signing in at front lobby. Very nice friendly guy. Sister in law had her support service dog with us. Had gone into all other tourist attractions with no problems plus even restaurants. They lived her well mannered had vest on. But this young tall guy with brown poppy hair comes and tells 6s she can't be in there. Explained she is for PTSD etc. He still said no so 8 put down 3 leather purses I was going to purchase for my girls back home and we did not go thru the museum and left. Thankfully hadn't bought tickets for museum yet.
And I hate to say this but in American there.

A little pricey even with a senior discount. Would have liked it if they had a better selection of size large and extra large t-shirts on hand. I went early and beat the crowd. Enjoyed the exhibits and the grounds. A lot of information. Cat Masterson was my personal tour guide.

After going into the gift shop area I decided I didn't want to see any more. It's an ok place for the average traveller looking for something to do, but the whole place seemed more like a way to make money off of the old history as opposed to a passion for preservation and education.

Mixed for me. I enjoyed the first part but the outdoor exhibit was a bit boring. I did not enjoy the person when we first entered trying to upsell me before I had a chance to even see how much it cost to enter. Give people a chance to breath and acclimate a bit before reaching into their wallet.

Definitely the highlight of our visit to Dodge City! Lots of hands-on exhibits and replica buildings. I definitely recommend making sure you are there at 12:00 to see the gunfight reenactment, and quench your thirst at the bar with Sasparilla! Don’t miss the ice cream shop, too! Great attraction for families!

So fun to step back in time. Highly recommend the Marshall Pass. Dinner was delicious and the variety show was a highlight of our trip. The museum was great with so many interactive exhibits. We went on a Friday and it wasn't too busy. Make sure to be there for the gunfights! The noon gunfight was different than the 6:30 gunfight so if time permits it is worth attending both.

Nice place to visit. First time I came here was in 2000/2001 as a senior in high school when my grandparents came for a visit. Not too much has changed since then . Still a great place to visit. I returned today with my niece & my daughter who will be starting high-school this fall. They enjoyed looking around and getting icecream at the Cafe. The shootouts are fun to watch but get there a bit early to get a good seat. 👍

This place is worth going to. You have two choices for tickets- basic ticket called “deputy ticket” for the museum and gun show or you can spend a little more to get the ultimate experience called the “marshal pass”. Both you have access to the museum all day but the marshal pass allows you to the dinner and variety show which includes the famous can can dancers. The museum is very well done and educational. The gun shows were amazing to watch. They were something worth watching- very entertaining and one of a kind!! The dinner was a delicious roast beef with mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and corn and a biscuit with iced tea, water or lemonade with apple crisp for dessert. Everyone here was extremely nice. They all took their jobs seriously but it was fun. They were friendly and kind. But the variety show was the one thing you need to see!! They all did a fantastic job. Absolutely worth the extra upgrade. Miss Kitty looked like a professional actress keeping everything smooth and not missing a beat! Her can can girls are dedicated and hard working. Everyone here did an amazing job. Very proud people keeping tradition alive. You can easily spend the whole day here! And there is an ice cream shop with sandwiches and snacks, very reasonably priced. You do not want to miss this show! And if it says the marshal pass is sold out online, call them or visit the gift shop. That’s how I got my passes for my family. Lots to see and do here in Dodge City but this is probably a favorite

So much to do! Kept my day full. They gave me an list of shows and times for each event. We got the bracelet so we came and went as needed. The bracelet included a homestyle meal. We got there early and got the bracelet so we didn't have to wait in line later.
