Exceptional Service at K & B True Value

I recently had an outstanding experience at K & B True Value in Annapolis while working on a project for my boat at the marina. I needed help replacing the cover for my electrical box and was missing some key parts. Edwin, one of the employees, took the time to assist me from start to finish. After explaining my project, he brought over some tools and laid everything out on a cart in the aisle so we could find the right screws, washers, and bolts. He meticulously tried several different sizes until we found the perfect fit.

Not only did Edwin help me find what I needed, but he also explained how to install everything without damaging the plastic cover, offering some valuable tips along the way. His patience and willingness to go the extra mile made all the difference.

I’m grateful for his expertise, and it’s clear that K & B True Value values its employees. This experience reminded me why I stopped going to the big box stores. You simply can’t beat the personalized service of a locally owned business. I'll continue to support K & B True Value for all my hardware needs!

I had the best experience at K&B True Value Annapolis. I was looking to replace a part for a mailbox. They didn't sell the part unless I bought a whole new mailbox set. The gentleman named Edwin, who helped me said that if I had the bracket he might be able to help me get it attached. I brought it back to him and he took it in the back and about 20 minutes later, it was good as new. I gladly paid for the labor and so appreciate the service! If I could give 10 stars I would!

All you need in a brick and mortar store and professional, pleasant service - hard to beat! Even carried the heavy bags to my car and wouldn’t accept a tip. Now that’s exceptional. If problems arise, they are more than anxious to solve them for you. Give them a try; for these purchases, forget Amazon because service puts the stars in the quality.

A near-perfect store. Just when you think you can't find it--K&B True Value has it. Of course nuts and bolts and all the hardwar-y stuff, but also gifts, housewares, and more. But where they shine is the service. I had a post come off my bed and brought it in and the staff was able to rig up a perfect solution for me. Knowledgeable and friendly! Do stop in, you will be surprised

I've always passed this store for the big box thinking they wouldn't have what I needed. I was wrong! Recently I've been dropping in there because they are so close and I've haven't been disappointed yet! Not only that, when I need salt, they deliver...for free! This is a really great place and good prices!

I purchased two epoxy glue guns from this store and wanted to return them. The manager could not find my name in some internal roster of buyers, and therefore refused to refund or provide store credit for the item. I left the store with my unneeded glue guns in the bag along with a bad feeling about how this store treats its customers.

The Annapolis K&B true value has the advantages of a franchise corporation, while maintaining the culture of a neighborhood "Mom & Pop" store. In spite of its petite square footage, It manages to remain organized and stocked with just about anything you could need. I often find things there that I can't find at Warehouse competitors. The staff are always friendly and helpful, and they get to know you, reinforcing that neighborhood shop feel. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

This store is in a convenient location from my house. Parking is plentiful, the store is clean and well-stocked, and the check-out staff is very nice. However, it can be a challenge to track down the staff, to lure them away from what they're doing, and to hold their attention once you have it. So the store is good for people who know what they're doing and where to find what they need without assistance, rather than newbies to home maintenance like me.

I increased my review by one star because the owner responded to me quickly with a welcome offer of help. Thank you.

This is the best hardware store in Annapolis. They have everything you need to fix things around the house PLUS the very best random kitchen supplies you never knew you needed. In the spring they have vegetables and flowers for sale; you can get mulch, bird seed, even salt for water treatment. Staff is always very kind!

Im only giving it 2 stars because they always have the water treatment I need for my house . The second star is for the ladies behind the register. But if you like the fact you are followed the hold time you are there then have at it . I will just order from Amazon..

Everything I need without leaving the peninsula!! Seriously, I dont know how they do it, but I can always find what I need at this store. And the staff is so helpful and friendly. I dont know why it took me so long to discover this neighborhood gem! In the last few months Ive gotten extension cords, mailbox numbers, shelf brackets, laundry baskets, cleaning supplies, anti-tip kits for furniture, garden tools...the list goes on and and on. Its the Anti-Amazon! Their website is also really well maintained and so I can check to see what is there before I go (Spoiler Alert: they have it!), but if I dont know exactly what it is I need, someone is always happy to help. The prices are also competitive, I never feel like I over paid for the convienece of shopping nearby. 5 Stars. Terrific Store. Part of what makes Annapolis such a great place to live.

This place is excellent! Very helpful staff, good prices! Literally 2 minutes in the door, I was asked if I needed help, directed to my destinations. The staff really took the time to explain everything to me and were very knowledgeable. Very pleased with my experience here. Glad to support a local store instead of the big box stores around!

Wonderfully knowledgeable staff - I now happily drive 40 miles roundtrip past 3 big box type hardware stores because K&B True Value has what I need - I never have to wander the isles looking for someone to help me or find an empty shelf or bin - They have everything you could possibly need for your house and garden (including every type and size nut, bolt, screw, etc.) - The service and selection makes me think Ive stepped into a time machine that delivered me back to the 1960s - Wow!!

In a contractor have a usually buy supplys home Depot ,stopped by kb to get a few things for my personal home like I have done in the past ,store was about to close in about 5 mins. I was not quite finished picking up my items from the shelf in front of me when the manager or owner came over and said that the store was closed and he wanted me to leave now because he had a meeting with his employees. Im a business owner also I understand, but you need to handle your customers with a little more respect when its only 2 minutes after closing, maybe asking politely if you can help them finish picking up their items instead of chasing them out of the store 2 minutes after closing thank you.

This former gem used to be my go-to place and was 5 stars for years. Ive noticed a steady decline in customer service since new management took over and Jared became more sparse. Today was the last straw when the checkout person refused to check why the product that was supposed to be discounted wasn t ringing up as such. It would have been ok with me if a mgr came up and it was not discounted, but she repeatedly refused. Sorry TValue, but your higher prices are no longer balanced by your formerly outstanding customer service.

My first visit here was one enough to make me never want to come back but, I did. I had to make a very quick stop here because I was short on time. This experience was probably one of the best hardware store experiences Ive ever had. At check out Drew was so helpful, personable and so easy to talk to. The check out process went smooth, and quick but was perfectly pleasant. Ill definitely be back!

This shop has always been my go to for any hardware or yard needs. I always receive the best service, as well as great quality items and well priced. And now...fast and efficient delivery right to my door step, often within hours! Who can ask for more? Above all... it s the great cast of staff members that sets this store apart!

Could this have been racially/ethnicity motivated? My wife and I purchased one bag of soil and two packs of jiffy starter containers. The following day we were informed by Annapolis Police that an employee witnessed my wife and I stealing a bag of potting soil and wrote down our licence plate. The employee or management called the local APD on my wife and I and atempted to press charges for theft. For an $8 bag of potting soil. An officer showed up at our house incessantly pounding on the door informing us of the allegations and began to interview us. The officer told us to get in touch with the detective on the case. Proof of purchase via credit card receipt and bill of sale provided by true value upon purchase was shown to the officer/detective. The officer met with true value management and confirmed that no theft had taken place. We were wrongfully accused and harassed by employees/management at this true value location. The manager called us apologising claiming that somthing like this has never happened during the decades they have been in business at that location. My family and I no longer have faith (let alone feel safe or comfortable) in our local community supported true value [that we have also supported for over 20 years of us living in and raising a family in Annapolis]. Could this have been racially/ethnicity motivated? We would like to think not. Whatever the reason was it was admittedly wrong and unacceptable on their behalf coming from management who called us after they resolved their mistake. Management blamed a mistaken employee that they trusted their judgment but instead of investigating at all on their own they immediately went from zero to one hundred and wasted the Annapolis Police department, my families and their own time. This could have been resolved internally in an instant without harassing my family. Another note. This was during covid-19 no customers are allowed in the store. All purchases are done over the phone and an employee brings the items to your car after payment is processed. We called the store and placed our order for three items, payment was processed 10 minutes later an employee loaded the items into our trunk. The next day we find out true value is pressing charges against us for theft of one of the items. During these stressful times of covid-19 it is understandable to be over worked and on edge. I thank you for providing our community with your service and still operating under the circumstances. My family and I understand that this was a mistake on true values end but it does not under any circumstances make it right or ok. This is completely unacceptable and appalling behavior. We hope this never happens to another true value customer.

I went here specifically because I knew I would get much better customer service then if I went to Home Depot....and boy was I not disappointed!! A sales person immediately asked if I needed help and I was able to quickly locate (a screw in this situation). I will start going here all the time just because of the customer service!

The ONLY place to get keys copied. 100% of the time, the keys work. Yay! Forget going anywhere else. Also, you can get birdseed, nice gift things and even an ice cream sandwich, if you are craving .

The K&B True Value is a marvelous store. I have had many times in my life when I required some piece of gardening equipment, and not once have I had to go to more than one store. The staff is always happy to help you find whatever you need.

Im so irritated and pissed off with the employees three of them to be exact.. I went in yesterday for solar eclipse glasses and was told the shipment was coming in today Saturday the 19th, I told the woman Id be in first thing when the three of them said well the shipment wont come in until 9am, thinking they would obviously tell the truth I listened to the employees.. needless to say they lied the shipment was in first thing and I missed out on my solar eclipse glasses because I listened too three employees who obviously either dont know the stores shipment times or flat out lied!

Great customer service and a big selection. We were greeted immediately and one of the staff noticed we had a welcome to the neighborhood coupon so were given a tour and shown where everything is. The line was long but moved very fast, the employee at the counter was a very nice guy. Hard to find places like this anymore.

This is a great local hardware store. Always amazed to find they have 90% of what the Orange and Blue stores have in about 5% of the footprint. Very, very helpful here.

Great place to go in the neighborhood. Good selection, reasonable prices (but watch out for huge mark-ups on selected items). Information provided by the staff varies from excellent to dead wrong. Assistance in finding items is equally variable, from helpful to clueless, to surly on occasion (when I insisted to a specific item necessary to do a small chore the proper way w/o damaging the tool). Im a regular.

An awesome place to go for the following reasons: customer service, selection, price, and answers to questions. I lost count the number of times their advice pointed me in the right direction. Its inversely proportional to the number of times I go to Home Depot and never find what I need because its out of stock or those that work there just dont know what they are selling.

Was so disappointed when I went in yesterday to find that they have completely discontinued the picture hanging kits and accessories that they used to carry. Has all been replaced by velcro hooks and velcro strips. An artist framing their own work needs professional grade hanging hardware...too bad. Not a real hardware store any more.
