I visited the big Whitehouse during a bigger event with other vendors also setting up on the lawn. It was really cool to see all the art and speciality items, and in the house all of the vintage goods. They had the windows open and fans running so it was pretty nice inside.

If you are an antique hunter. This isn't the place for you. This store felt more like a frat house. Zero clue who works there.
From a historical point of view. The house is gorgeous to peruse. Amazing Victorian wooden spiral staircase. If you don't go up the stairs. You can actually leave faster.

UPDATE to my intial review:
The Big White House has unfortunately turned into mostly a gift shop selling new items. It's not the place to go for antiques anymore.

The Big White House had a good selection of reasonably priced antiques, furniture, new and upscaled items. The house itself is a treasure; walking through the rooms filled with items of yesteryear felt nostalgic.

This place is so full of history that it's incredible to look at! So many fun things to purchase as well. And if you're into the spooky stuff this place is known to have some haunts. Ask the cashier and they will tell you some stories!

What a lovely historical house filled with treasures, so conveniently located in Anoka,Mn! Person behind counter very friendly n welcoming. Couldn’t help notice the historical pieces thru out (antiques) and the home architecture was fun too !

I think it is safe to say that this is my favorite antique store in the area!!

Not only is there a lot to look at, but the prices of most of the things here are a lot more reasonable than other places that I have been to.

The staff is really friendly and helpful. One of the fun things about this place is that not only is the stuff in the place fun to look at, but the house itself is pretty cool too!!

I love all of the antiques, but I have to say my favorite part is the area where you can buy coffee, tea, and assorted other things. So far I have bought one bag of coffee there, but I shall have to go back soon to try the other flavors.

OMG this place is so interesting to visit, just walking through this old historical house is amazing! But thats not all they have some of the coolest antique furniture, dolls, cloths and everything vintage. Definitely a store to check out!

If youre in Anoka you need to for sure stop in at this place. Theres a lot to look at so make sure you go around, up and down, at least three or four times. You will definitely see different things every single time.

Minnesota needs more places like this. A delightful little step back into time filled with different vendors finds. Crafty or vintage youll probably either find something you forgot about from yesteryear, or a new treasure from someones creative soul. I cant wait to see it in the spring and summer.

Trips to the white house never disappoint! They have antiques, local artisans and thrifted clothes. I picked up some Christmas clearance at a great price! However I do wish the antique selection would grow some, maybe with less craft items.

Such a great local business to shop. Always have a wide array of antique, vintage, and new items, with great turn over. We never fail to find something to purchase. Our most recent purchase was a dining table from the early 50s at a fantastic price. The staff is always friendly and helped us carry and load it in our vehicle. Cant wait to go back!!

Great history. The staff is lovely. I love that the whole house is a store right down to the bathroom. Theres a bit of old a bit of new (the candles are a must have). The prices are very reasonable and a bit of everything. It is tight quarters and a fairly steep spiral staircase to go to the second level (fyi for those with limited mobility).

We went to The Big White House because we were doing whatever I, the mom, wanted to do on Mother s Day. I decided I wanted to torment my boys and husband by forcing them all to go antique shopping. It backfired. Everyone enjoyed it, which I guess is even better. There was something for everyone, and we made some great finds. Felt like treasure hunting. Can t wait to go again!

So many things to see! I could easily spend hours here. The offering is moving more toward an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary to maybe appeal to more people. It is nearly impossible for me to visit and not imagine what it might have been like to live there because it is just an amazing building. The people are nice and prices reasonable.

This shop has a good mix of new decor and refinished furniture along with some standard antiques. I would love to see more furniture and the turnover rate with the antiques seems to be a little slow for encouraging repeat visits. Otherwise the staff is very friendly.

Always something interesting, beautiful, nastalgic, or just really really cool. Anoka is filled with lovely antique stores, but everyone knows and adores this white house. Even at the local skate shop, Pinewskis, I was asking what would be the thing to do in Anoka for first timers and it was well agreed that taking a stop here is a must! Always finding new awesome things here, Ive seen two rustic tables come and go within in one trip here. Ofcourse that might be easy when there are hours that could be spent here. The neon beer sign room is probably my favorite, just something about that glow, feels like how a man-cave probably should. I even get my soap here! (They have amazing soap!)
