Waited with the kids for an hour, a rude girl comes back and changed the sign to another sign that says gone for another hour and she kept waving we’re closed. She seemed like she didn’t want to be there and was rude. Corporate might do themselves a favor and shut this location down

This location needs to be shut down. I’ve tried to come here 4 times, and each time there’s a sign outside saying they’re closed for an hour. I’m here now, and I just saw the girl who works here come back, go inside, lock the store again, and change the sign to say it’s now closed until 3pm. A passerby saw me and told me that they’re never open. We will be reaching out to corporate to find out what is going on.

I've been to this location a couple times and today I visited the store a at 3:30 pm, 4:40 pm and 8:00 pm there was a sign posted on the door that said "employees stepped out will return in 15 minutes" I stayed in the parking lot for over 35 minutes and no one showed to open the door, I saw 6 customers pull up to the door and pull it only for the doors not to open with absolutely no employees in sight, this is disgusting unprofessional, I'll get my games online from now on.

Terrible customer service. I was using a gift card and the card reader would not process it. Instead of trying to find a solution, employee decided to scratch off with a coin the last 4 digits on the card. $200 down the drain for that, do better Game Stop.

I have shopped at this gamestop for years now, but the staff has changed and it's affecting this business. With the holidays approaching I was in search for a PS 4 for my daughter. I called this Gamestop and on 12.13.23 and Spoke to Diego. I explained to him what I was looking for and let me know he had 2 PS4's in stocks 1 slim and 1 regular. I spoke to him around 11am, I let him know I would be picking one up after I got out of work, he said 1st come 1 serve. He asked me to call prior to heading over which I did, I called him after I got out of work. He told me at this time they were both sold out, to try again another time. I visited this Gamestop location the same night, I had just missed Diego.The associates who were on shift brought out both PS4's he had told me about earlier, I don't know why this guy Diego would lie and say they were Sold out when they were not. This was very dishonest on his part, I would not feel comfortable shopping at this Gamestop any longer unfortunately. Perhaps he wanted to hold them for friends idk, but that was super unprofessional to do to a parent looking to get their kid a gift for Christmas, from my understanding he is a team lead? How could that be? Seems they will give anyone these positions of power but they don't know how utilize it the right way, instead of making sure best practices are performed he is teaching other staff the wrong way to be a leader.Hopefully Mr.Diego will get a bunch of coal for Christmas.

I was told I would receive an email or phone call from the District manager 2 weeks ago, i have not, Gamestop customer service said they did relay the information I gave to the DM but unfortunately it seems this DM doesn't read the reviews for this location nor seems to be concerned that customers are being fraudulently bamboozled and deceived.
2nd update 5.14.24 I NEVER received an update or a follow up, which is very disappointing. Nevertheless my son recently wanted a new game so we went to a different Gamestop then the one we usually go to on Tonnelle ave...due to the bad experiences. We went to the game stop on 31st and Kennedy Blvd. My son finds the game he went to get. The sticker price said $40 for the game, when we get to the register the girl says "oh that's not the price" and tells us it's 60 but they forgot to remove the sticker that said 40. These Gamestops are being ran very poorly. This is a whole different location BUT the DM is the same! So MR. DISTRICT MANAGER please trian your staff better so these issues don't keep occurring because iam sure their are many people who won't leave a review!

So the manager Sat has the patience of a saint. I went in to do a warranty exchange for my mom’s switch, and with all the hiccups getting it all transferred over, as well as the headache of getting the Animal Crossings game data over, he helped us out for over an hour and not once did he give us any issues. Handled it very well and made sure we had everything all in order before we left the store. So five stars for that and for making sure I got the best deal and helping out for as long as he did.

Horrible service when it comes to preordering and never answers their phone when attempting to check for a status.No luck also trying to resolve this through their costumer service number as instore and online orders are treated differently and cannot assist with getting a refund unless you go to the store. Just better off going to another more reputable location or company to get your desired products/ services.

My recent experience with the staff at GameStop was quite disappointing. When I entered the store, I felt like an inconvenience rather than a valued customer. On Sept 7th I received a call from this gamestop stating they were going to have a midnight release for NBA 2k24. I even went into stores to pay off the remainder of my game and they told me I could come at midnight and do that. After I showed up at midnight there was nobody there. Very unprofessional and a waste of my time.

I was in here right before Christmas. I just want to say, these guys that work here are awesome! They are very friendly, helpful and professional. They explained all the promos that they had going on with pokemon cards when I was just looking at it. I wouldn't have gotten a great deal if I had not known. I would give them 10 stars for great customer service!

Customer service is slightly aggressive. I had a game that wasn't fully downloading, a well-known issue online. I wanted to exchange it but they aggressively started stating their policy saying they could not accept it etc. After some back and forth, they said even if they wanted to exchange it, they couldn't because it wasn't in stock at their store. Ok fine. Then they told me I could exchange it at the Gamestop down the road because it was in stock there. So I went to that Gamestop (Union City), and the nice employee exchanged it for me in literally under 2 min...
TLDR: the guys were unnecessarily hostile, spewed out policy, and could have just directed me to a different store to begin with. Customer service is lacking.

The guys were rude. Told me because I have a sealed game that I could be stolen it so they can’t take it. Never heard of a GameStop policy that said I can’t sell my game sealed. I told him look up my game history and see that I bought the game if you think I stole it. Loser said it’s policy if you don’t like it then you can get out!! So I left. Never going back there manager has a complex!!

We bought a Nintendo switch right before all the NYC GameStop’s closed down due to COVID. It broke on day two but GameStop customer service refused to help and said we’d have to wait until stores reopened. We waited more than 2 months and finally found this location opened with new consoles in stock. They replaced our broken one. GameStop is awful at taking care of their customers but this location is my quarantine savior!!!!! Thank you guys!

Best gamestop around, hands down! The staff actually knows what they're talking about, even if they don't play the games I'm inquiring about. The store is the most organized I've seen, and the new manager is awesome! I moved from North Bergen but I still drive 15 miles to preorder or make general purchases because they have done so much to help me out. Thanks everyone! (The one that takes forever to pick up all her dragonball and other anime figurines haha)

Alena at the 88th street North Bergen store was amazingly helpful with my online order. I had a terrible experience with the online customer support. After one month online had done nothing to resolve my isssue. I called the store and Alena was able to help me and call me back with a follow up in less than 1 hour. Highly recommend the store but not the online shopping.

Terrible staff! I called to ask what the trade in value was for an Xbox One X and I was told that I would get an answer in a brief moment and was placed on hold. 5 minutes passed and I’m pretty sure the employee that was on the phone with me completely forgot I was still waiting after hearing a conversation in the background between the employees currently working in the store. I called back several times and it seems as if they’re ignoring my number, no answer at all.
