Wok 88

This evening I ordered the Beef with Broccoli ($21) which was served to me at nearly room temperature. I sent it back and about two minutes later the waiter brought the same serving back again after it was reheated. It then cooled off in almost no time and was back to the temperature it was before. The proper way to handle the situation would have been to give me a new portion. The beef had almost no taste except for the taste of the juice it was served with. They charged me an extra dollar because I chose brown rice instead of white rice, bringing the total to $22 before tax. I had their chicken corn soup as my starter, it did not have enough flavor to it. The restaurant is between 88th and 89th Streets on Third Avenue.
On a different day I tried their fish filet ($23) in brown sauce. The filet was sauteed and comes with mixed vegetables. I chose to have it with just broccoli (pictured). It was mild in taste, pleasing, and the size of the portion made it filling.

The food here was surprisingly good. The lunch special here is cheap and extensive! Great deal! They have a lot of dishes not normally seen on a Chinese menu. I loved the pork with dried Tofu. The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was yummy. The hot and sour soup was a bit runny but still good. Service here is fast and efficient.

Very tasty full of flavor one of Best Chinese food in Manhattan. I tried different dishes I almost liked them all. The food tasted really fresh. All the meat and chicken cooked well. Staff very friendly and nice I recommend coming to here. The beef fried rice is great. Outdoor area pretty decent even it was raining. Parking not hard.

Came here for lunch, as I was craving asian food. Prices were of good value. I ordered the taiwanese braised pork lunch set. It came with hot and sour soup, which was nice. But the taiwanese braised pork rice was not was I was expecting.

It tastes alright. I should've ordered something else from the menu. If you're hungry, and crave asian food, and if you're in the area, it's ok to stop by.

If I could give zero stars I would! People beware, your food might come with kitchen supplies cooked into it. My dad was eating the egg roll that accompanies the lunch special when he began to choke. He pulled a big piece of Saran Wrap out of his throat, which had been cooked into the egg roll. We went back to the restaurant to bring it to their attention and they called us liars. It’s one thing to have consumed Saran Wrap but it was another to be completely dismissed by the restaurant.

By the end of our group's meal, we got some fresh pineapple with classic fortune cookies and the price of everything we had was very reasonable. The rest of the week we dubbed Wok88 as our favorite spot out of all the different spots we tried. Can't wait to go back!

I’ve been going here to work 88 for almost 5 years I went here today 1-11-25 I ordered beef chow fun and wonton soup from the lunch menu the food was good at best could’ve been a little bit hotter
The prices has gone up a lot lately before what I got was under $10 but now it’s about $13-$14 but regardless the food is good and the service is great

Food is SO good! But the service from the lady we had was HORRIFIC. She was the rudest person I've ever had wait on me. Additionally, they over pack the restaurant so you can hardly move around. I recommend ordering to go.

Run...home of no flavor food. Who puts curry and cashews in fried rice? I wanted Chinese not Indian food. Susan needs a course in customer service btw. Worst $70 we’ve ever spent for take out. Requested extra sauce on the boneless spare ribs and different dunking sauce for the crab rangoon…nadda! There are better places to order from on the UES. My mistake for giving them a try.

La comida es buena, se nota una buena profesionalidad en cocina pero el servicio es de muy mala calidad, nunca me podría imaginar que en el centro de Manhattan en un restaurante te sirvan agua en un vaso de plástico reutilizando no pusieron una copa o vaso para cerveza, los camareros carecen de amabilidad.
Y como si fuera poco sólo faltó que el camarero me apuntara con pistola para que obligado le diera propina, siendo grosero en gesto y verbalmente.
Calificaría de Comedor obrero de una compañía en quiebras y mis respetos a los empleados de cocina.

Very average food. I ordered the chicken with garlic sauce. There was little garlic taste and it wasn’t spicy. The dish was also pretty liquid. I’d also like for the option to order online instead of calling in. Also be aware of their health rating, it’s a B.

Spent $123 on March 3rd. Takeout egg foo Yung was burnt the 10 ingredients ricewss gummy anf green peas was hard. General soul chicken was stringy. Not to mention I got sick I had a burning in my throat. I called AND SPOKE TO THE.WOMAN MANAGER. She aid she only could give me $22 back. The food has fallen down. I COME FROM COOP CITY bronx. Got charge $14.25 for this soup. When I ordered, the lady never told me they didn’t have chicken rice soup and just said ok. She said $19.50 on the phone which I might have misheard her for $9.50 which sounded about right for chicken soup and a side of rice because it was really loud. When the ordered was picked up by someone else, that’s when I found out the cost of this soup. I called back and a different lady answered and I asked how much the cost was for chicken rice soup and she said they didn’t have that on the menu but they charge a chicken noodle soup price which is $10 and take out the noodles and add rice which is extra $4.25?? But the other lady never explained that and charged $14.25 which is ridiculous for this soup. If I had known the pricing of the first lady explained the break down, I would not have ordered it and their customer service is very rude. Don’t expect them to fix things if they get it wrong. Will not be ordering from here again. The soup is super bland too.

Chow fun noodles are very bland. No sauce, spice or veg really included. Needs a lot of extra sauces to make it edible. Fried pork dumplings tasted bad, couldn’t eat them. Wonton soup was alright, wontons are very big. Sesame chicken was ok.

Ordered delivery for the first time. I was pleased with the wonton soup and the eggroll but the dumplings had 0 flavor and were chewy and dry inside. Chicken and broccoli had good flavor but too much soy for my taste. I might try other dishes but it was just ok for the high cost.

Authentic Chinese food for a good price I would have given a better rating if it wasn't for the fly that landed on my food and management allowed a customer,who had ordered takeout and her dog to sit right next to my table. I was turned off by the smell of the dog and lost my appetite.

I had ordered a simple chicken wings and plain fried rice, when my food arrived I even tipped the guy and spent 15 dollars :/ when I started eating the rice smelled and tasted horrible, the chicken was an odd color and when I ripped it 2 of them open, one was blood red in the middle it might as well have been walking and the other was straight raw white meat in the middle. Absolute terrible do not recommend.

I paid $42 for a container of general tso's chicken, a pork fried rice, and an egg roll.

The sizes were very small for $20 dishes.

The flavor was lacking. I would describe the food as not outright bad and definitely edible, but not tasty, not great, and definitely not worth the insane price to portion size.

When there are much better options at a more competitive price I don't see why I would ever order here again.

I went to Wok88 tonight and I’ve been here plenty of times however tonight I purchased chicken and broccoli which I usually get, but for some strange reason the chicken was white, there was it barely any sauce at all and it looked as though it wasn’t fully cooked! I am sooooo disappointed because not only did I pay $20.96 but the least you can do is prepare the food the right way! My order number was # 91. Please put enough sauce to cover the chicken and please cook it thoroughly so that it has some color. Nobody eats white unseasoned chicken!

1st time in New York City, 1st time eating Chinese food. My great friend Michael took me there.. Boy, I love it!!♥️♥️♥️. I had Cold Noodles, Chicken & Shrimp dish,Beef and Snow peas, Broccoli-wow ,4 dishes and I give my thumbs up 10/10♥️. Th food here used to be so good and my go to but it has completely fallen off. My staple is the shrimp with broccoli with white rice and a large shrimp fried rice. The white rice was awful it taste chalky the shrimp were over cooked and shriveled up. The broccoli had to have been blanched for ten seconds it’s so hard. She fried rice is bland and lacks all flavor. They have lost me as a customer something told me I should have stocked to Ollie’s. Never again.

I have been coming to this place since I was a teenager. I absolutely love this place. I literally travel from the Bronx to enjoy this food. The service, amazing. The food always great. The people, they know who I am as soon as I walk in. I will keep coming here for years to come.

I moved out of NYC during the pandemic. I came here for the holidays and I was craving a good NYC Chinese restaurant. Hands down this is one of the best I’ve had! I gave 4 stars because it is a bit on the pricey side but I would return.

Went for my birthday, I had house "Mei fun" with "Crystal Shrimp dumplings" my Sista had " Shrimp with Lobster Sauce". Service was okay. It was a bit busy. Food tasted fresh 😋 Didn't realize there was a good spot in the neighborhood. Will more than likely visit again. 😉

Recently went here and discovered the LUNCH menu prices have INCREASED- while the portions have remained the same. I could sort of justify paying the previous amount for a SMALL bowl of fried rice/ chiken & broccoli. But now with the new increase- wont do it. Also- they round UP on the "sales TAX"- which seems shady-& hella suspect. Granted its a couple pennies- but if ALL customers are paying...then
