I ve ordered from this restaurant maybe once per week for the last 10 years. The quality of the food has gone down tremendously and I spent 15 minutes on hold tonight trying to communicate this to a manager who couldn t be bothered to listen. The food shows up cold and dry like it s been sitting under a to go heat lamp for hours. Really sad to see this happen.

A fantastic experience overall. My date and myself had a wonderful time! The salmon and the branzino were truly amazing. The staff was helpful, professional, kind and friendly. There wasnt a moment I could remember where someone wasnt a moment away to help or assist. Everyone was knowledgeable and could not be more willing to make the experience as absolute enjoyable as possible. The only reason I gave only four stars for the food was I like my fish with a bit more seasoning.. My date stated her salmon was prepared absolutely perfectly. She frequents Pappardella occasionally and now hopefully I will as well. Thanks for a great experience! A great place to bring your significant other, a date or anyone youd like to impress!

Tourists and walk-in customers are not welcome here! You dont get a seat in the restaurant (although there are plenty of free tables), but you are banished to the uncomfortable, narrow, small patio with significantly worse service (soft napkins on the inside, paper on the outside, etc.). The food is overpriced, about refreshed frozen food. This is a warning for everyone who sees food as more than just food intake.

The food was great. lamb shank over risotto was done to perfection just like the chicken parmigian. However, the service has a lot of room for improvement. The staff, aside from the busboy, looked overwhelmed and annoyed when they got busy. The hostess was the person who showed to be more frustrated to the point where she was not too pleasant to guests. The food definitely makes this place worth visiting. It would be nice to complement it with better service, starting with the hostess, which is what it gives the first impression of the restaurant. Wheelchair accessibility: It is, but notice easy access if sitting in the outside heated area.

I am so disappointed in Pappardella. We have been going there for years primarily because one family member needs gluten free. Tonight we ordered takeout. I drove 35 mins to pick up the food, waited almost an hour for the food *after* the indicated pickup time, and then drove 35 min home; opened the bag and none of the items were labeled as to GF or not. They are always busy (happy for them) but this is really negligent when they advertise themselves as a GF friendly restaurant.

I recently came to this spot for the gluten free menu. The food items were delicious ! Not so much for the service - I ve owned and been in the service industry for Many years and never experienced such horrible service - waitresses seemed like they couldn t be bothered - not sure if their shift was ending but . Never asked about another drink or dessert. What topped it off we had not left the table and the waitress came by and snatched the tip. Would return for the food but waitresses need to learn how to smile and be kind to customers.

My girlfriend and I looked at each other and let off a meh . With so much competition from nearby restaurants, Pappardella doesn t try to shake the conventional and instead leans heavily on its great atmosphere, going all in on the bet that it ll make you somewhat forget the very average food. My philosophy is that a great restaurant should be able to knock a classic dish out of the park, but my spaghetti and meatballs fell flat on their face. My date s angel hair cacio e pepe was uninspired, arriving to our table in a watery substance that we both imagined to be the sauce for the dish. The service was unapologetically slow, forgetting to even put a glass of water on our table until our after our entrees arrived. Pappardella eats like any other Italian clone, failing to highlight its classic dishes and instead giving you a diversified plethora of small plates and appetizers to choose from. Nothing to write home about - in fact, just make it at home and save yourself the experience of a meek, bored attempt at staple Italian dishes.

My wife and I just got married in New York last week and had our rehearsal dinner at Pappardella--one of our local favorites for some time. It was an amazing experience that rivaled the wedding itself! From the time we started planning in December, Marion treated us with such care and attention that we never doubted it would go smoothly. Her singular goal, as she told us a hundred times, was to make our night perfect. The team accommodated our every request, whether that meant getting creative with the seating arrangements to fit more people or ordering a few extra plates so that we could serve some of our favorite dishes family style. They even invited us in for a tasting ahead of time to make sure we loved everything on our menu. The ambience of the restaurant was perfect--cozy and intimate, but still big enough to fit all 80 of us. The service was amazing--Im pretty sure they had their entire wait staff working that night, attending to every detail from keeping wine glasses full to turning down the music for each speech. And of course, the food was unbelievable (as youd expect from this neighborhood favorite). It was a silly amount of food--passed hors doeuvres and pizza, a salad course, a family style hot appetizer course, a family style pasta course, and entrees and desserts ordered tableside. At least a dozen people told us over the course of the weekend that it was the best meal theyd ever eaten at a wedding event, and a several counted it among the best dining experiences of their lives. We surely agree with them. Honestly, words cant do justice to our dinner here. It was a very special night to us, and the Pappardella team made sure it lived up to its billing. We cant thank you enough!

The wait staff were friendly and very helpful, the interior was beautiful, everyone inside was having a great time and happy to be there. We got a spread of things but the highlight in my opinion was the Pappardelle funghi e tartufo (mushroom ragu). The noodles were very cooked perfectly, rich but not too heavy at all. Best pasta Ive had in many moons. We had to leave before we could check out their dessert which will go down as a personal tragedy because if they put as much care and quality into those as they do the rest of the menu they should not be missed. If youre looking for classy comfort Italian food look no further.

We had planned on dining in Little Italy, but came across this location by chance one day while we were touring part of Central Park. So many of the chain restaurants were lined out the door so we decided to try this restaurant. It was consistently busy on a weekday at lunch, but not overly crowded even though it is fairly small. It is a very relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds on the streets. However, the real treat is once the food arrives at your table. Our group had several different dishes and not a single one disappointed. If you want Italian this is a perfect spot to dine.

We had an enjoyable meal in early December. The restaurant was decorated for the holidays with tinsel and greenery. We were seated promptly, and our server arrived with a smile soon after. Asparagus appetizer in pesto sauce was tasty, and the Caesar salad was crisp with good dressing. I had one of the specials, pasta with beef short ribs in a rich ragu sauce. It was delicious, and it was a generous serving. My wife enjoyed the eggplant parmigiana. The bread pudding for dessert was tasty but unusual - a thin layer of bread pudding served on a hot skillet with lots of cream and ice cream. Price was very reasonable for what we received. Pizzas at neighboring tables looked good, too. They can skip the 70s music, but it was not too loud and barely heard when the restaurant was full. Dietary restrictions: plenty of gluten free options

The really appealing ambience immediately gives you a warm feeling of good Italian hospitality. The management is very friendly and tried hard, the service staff could definitely be a little more friendly. The dishes are quite authentic. The wine selection is good. It would be nice if you didnt get the feeling that you have to leave the restaurant on time at the end of opening hours at the latest, but rather that you can end the evening in peace. But all in all, a good recommendation and you can definitely come back a second time.

I don t care how good the food is (which it wasn t in this case, it was truly quite bland and badly cooked), having a cockroach fall on a diner s table is inexcusable. They did not even kill the cockroach, just shooed it away, while we were reseated to the opposite end of the restaurant. There are massive sanitary and hygiene issues with this place, do not go. Absolute disappointment, I don t even know how they are still in business.

I had a very nice meal with my father here, a while back. Location is prime on the uws. The restaurant is respectable and respectful. The food was notable. I remember being very happy with the options and the pasta dish I chose. Good bread and olive oil, to start. The setting is transcendental. The personnel were very nice people. I think of going back often.

Excellent food!! Would absolutely eat here again and again. They had an entire Gluten Free Menu and the food was amazing and couldn t tell the difference. Very knowledgeable and kind.

Cute neighborhood gem. The cocktails are named after famous Italian actresses. The restaurant has a gluten free menu which made my tummy happy. The meatball appetizer was delicious and could be shared with your dining companion. I look forward to exploring more of their menu. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free bread, pasta, pizza and more

The service was very bad, they packed us in a small area, the food took over 1 hour and was no longer hot when we got it.

Food was fine but service was the worst. They took order wrong twice. The manager does took the gratitude out though because we asked what s going on. The menu said 18% tips would be applied for party of 6 or more. We are 4 people and the 20% was added on. The service was less than mediocre she was not attentive at all. Beware!!!!!!!!!!

Service was awful. If waiters and bussers are that rude to customers, they must be pretty miserable...Food was fine (3/5), so I wouldnt have even written a review if it wasnt for the bad service. When you go out to eat, youre paying for the experience. Otherwise, youd just order take-out.

A shame because their gluten free menu is great, but the service was pretty bad. We placed a pickup order which wasnt ready for 90 minutes (30 minutes after they initially said to come), and the hostess was very unhelpful and dismissive. They forgot many items in the order, and it was hard to get ahold of them on the phone. Eventually we managed to get put through to someone just before closing who took the items off of our bill and gave us a credit but it was a big hassle all around.

Pappardella just canceled my order through seamless an hour after it was placed. Doesn t matter if you have other 5 star and any star reviews on here, if you can t handle deliveries, take yourself out of it, period.

Even though the restaurant was almost empty, I was given a small table at the bar counter or alternatively to sit outside. The staff were very stressed and the cutlery dirty. The food was ok.

What a great dinner before a concert at the Beacon. Fun cocktails, generous servings of olives and roasted vegetables, and super fresh pasta with light sauces. And the fresh bread with olive oil! Friendly servers were mindful of being quick so we could make it to the show.

Absolutely Amazing! Starting with the Addictively Delicious Food which is perfectly-paired and Beautfully Plated on Every Unforgettable Dish! I also loved the atmosphere of this restaurant! The relaxed casual vibe truly allows you to savor the food, and to easily conversate throughout the dining experience! The Service is Equally-Matched to the food and atmosphere (or One could say Perfectly-Paired)! I found everyone working here to be Attentative, Friendly, Knowledgeable, and Eager to Assist - Making for an All-Around Incredible Dining Experience!! I must also give a Great Thank You to EDWARD who was/is Absolutely Amazing and someone who surely knows how to make anyone feel as they are welcome family!

I haven t been able to have Italian for years due to dietary restrictions and eating here was pure bliss. The GF pasta tasted SO GOOD and the GF pizza was amazing. Great atmosphere and service- thank you so much! Dietary restrictions: This is a dream for anyone with Celiacs! They have a separate GF menu and separate part of the kitchen for prep. Staff were super helpful answering questions.

Not worth the price. Ordered the GF calamari appetizer for $19 and it came with 3 pieces of calamari and a thousand raisins?? And also I bit into plastic in the calamari that I almost ate. I ve had their GF chicken parm in the past which was good, but disappointed in my recent order.
