Listen…..I took the time to comment. It was DELICIOUS, SAVORY, PERFECT. I sent compliments to the chef….the energy of the place is great. My waiter and possibly the owner checked to see how everything was…..we ordered “pollo” and “chicken parmigiana”…PHENOMENAL! The cheesecake was AMAAAAAZING! It was a perfect anniversary dinner and we had no reservations……if u are reading this because you are on the fence, GET OFF THE FENCE AND COME ON IN ALREADY!!! 🎯🎯🎯🎯

Can't say enough good things about this amazing restaurant! It is rare to find somewhere that has a great ambiance, drinks and food made from scratch and most importantly made with love. We had the pleasure of speaking with Maurizio the chef and owner and you can tell his passion and love for the food and place. The cocktails and food were some of the best I've had

So happy to have discovered this gem of a restaurant. First, we enjoyed masterfully mixed cocktails at the bar while we waited for our friend. The courses that followed were all delicious and beautifully plated. The chicken parmigiana with cacio de pepe in a parmesan shell is cravably good!

From the UK- out for a Birthday meal 5* across the board. Called in yesterday without a reservation and we were made very welcome- we sat at the bar and we were very happy with that. Amazing friendly staff and excellent atmosphere. The garlic bread starter was to die for- the chianti was amazing too. Every course we had was 5*. Highly recommend

This is a hidden gem. Every single person working here cannot do better than what they already do.
They have a certain warmth that makes them unique.
Food options are limited but enough. Wine pairings are great. Ask anyone if you are not sure what goes well with your order and they'll be happy to give you a couple of tastings. Overall great food, people and ambience. When genuine people come together, it changes your experience.
Not to forget, the food is very authentic tasting.

No disrespect but the food is so poor, there is no flavor— very bland, I am repulsed by the portions and lack of flavor. You can have great service and hospitality, but if the food lacks, then the restaurant itself is a poor establishment. I understand you won chopped but maybe the owner should be in the kitchen cooking his own food and serving guests properly executed dishes then worrying about making drinks and pouring wine. Quite honestly it doesn’t add up. You can tell when establishments don’t use quality ingredients. The people working here don’t even look happy to be here. it’s kind of a weird vibe. Won’t be returning. You’re lying if you feel this is a good quality Italian restaurant

I am pained to give Mauritzio 2 stars for his food. We went to Taverna to try the Pollo which is the dish that won on “Chopped” 2023. Unfortunately the dish was overcooked and probably one of the worst chicken dishes I’ve ever had. It was dry with little taste and the skin was tough and chewy. So very disappointed. Two of us ordered the Pollo and we both agreed it was not good. The worst part is the $38 price tag. Unfortunate.

i rarely write reviews, but maurizio and his entire team made our weekend when we dined here. we stepped inside and felt at home immediately with the warmest welcome from maurizio (owner and chef). the carbonara and lamb shank were out of this world. the ambiance was impeccable, especially on a cold winter night. maurizio stopped by our table multiple times and made our experience very special and unique. new favorite italian spot in NY - i’ll be back asap!

Ordered delivery and the portion sizes were pathetically small - two orders of carbonara together barely fed a single small person.
Edit - that’s quite the response from the restaurant when they didn’t even see the portion I received. The photo they use on Uber Eats is not even close to representative of what I actually got

Food was good. Service was amazing. In a post-covid world where most people give bare minimum effort, it was extremely refreshing to have experienced the level of hospitality as we did. Service standards and SOPs were textbook perfect, from the greeting, to the smiles, to the timing, to level of attentiveness. Much credit goes to management for the training of the staff, and all credit goes to the team who worked seamlessly in a well orchestrated fashion.

Inget speciellt faktiskt.

Extremely overpriced and bad quality. Took my mom for her birthday and she got food poisoning after eating that horrid lamb dish that they brought out literally 5 minutes after we ordered it! Wow this place truly surprised us! We made a last minute dinner reservation here to catch up with some old friends and it did not disappoint. We called the restaurant earlier in the night to see if we could push back our reservation an hour and they were so accommodating even on a busy Saturday night. The drinks were well made and the wine list had great Italian selections. The pasta….to die for! It is so authentic and perfectly al dente like you were in Italy. The ingredients in each dish we got (burrata, cacio e Pepe, carbonara, and chicken Parmesan) tasted so fresh and the portion sizes were perfect. They had great gluten free options as well. We ended up spending over 3 hours here and we were not rushed during our meal at all, which is sometimes super hard to find in NYC. Highly recommend this place, I can’t wait to go back.

One of my new favorite Italian spots in all of Manhattan, a real gem of LES! Cozy and romantic, the atmosphere is just what I was looking for in a date night with my husband. My husband had the pappardelle and I had the cacio e Pepe, both were full of flavor and cooked to perfection, seemingly straight from Italy and not an American take on the cuisine (my husband and I made it to Italy twice this year so we have what to compare it to). Finished off with the tiramisu, perfection. It takes a lot for us to return to a place in the city as we live in Williamsburg and, well, Williamsburg isn’t lacking its own great restaurants. But Taverna Di Bacco stole our hearts this evening, so we will definitely be back.

Chef Crescenzo and his wife Andrea are great hosts at their restaurant. Super friendly and accommodating. We were 30 minutes late for our reservation and Andrea was apologizing like it was her fault. She put us at ease and got us a table.
I recommend Cacio e Pepe, Paccheri, Melanzane alla Parmigiana and, a dish I can't remember then name (vodka sauce with penne). Desserts are fantastic - cheesecake and lemon panna cotta panna cotta - yum.
In my last two trips to NYC, I've dined here each time. It's that good.

We had a lovely time at this warm and inviting family-owned restaurant. Everyone we met was so kind and hospitable, service was great, ambiance was lovely. Food was good; fresh Italian. Bruchetta was unusual, one half is sweet not savory, vongole was too salty that day, but I might try it again, clams were manila and in the shell; the other 2 pasta dishes we got were much enjoyed (one was cacio e pepe). Wine was nice. Cesar was normal, dressing a little light on flavor, steak tartar was good (I'd put it in my top 10 list, and I try that everywhere I go). I would definitely return, there was more to try! I can see how this locale could be a local staple or a nice date restaurant or for a special occasion. If you are looking for a more red sauce, baked or large plate experience, this is probably not going to please you.

Pasta was fantastic. The mushroom pappardelle was phenomenal and had a nice rich flavor, the meatballs in the spaghetti were delicious and soft, the carbonara was decent (a miss for me).
Basket of bread was stale and not worth the price. Didn’t even come with anything, we had to ask for butter or olive oil and they brought out just olive oil.
Service was lackluster. The owner was super friendly but only came around to our table twice and with quite a bit of time in between each time. Otherwise, we had to call out for the waiter for anything else.

On the day of my reservation, we arrived to the restaurant 15 minutes prior to the 1:30 reservation. Received a text a few minutes later saying the restaurant wasn’t going to be open for lunch and that they would be opening at 3pm. Don’t allow reservations if you’re not going to open on time. Or, at a minimum, give people more than a 10 minute heads up.

It has been a long time since I haven’t felt this way about a venue; I had such a lovely experience I cannot recommend them enough! I do not come to Lower East side a lot and it was by pure luck that I discovered it. I walked in on a Saturday evening waiting for my next engagement, set at the bar and was welcomed warmly by the owners, chef Maurizio and his lovely wife Andrea. I realized that most of the customers were frequenters and despite it being a busy Saturday evening, Maurizio spotted me as a new comer and welcomed me personally (and checked in throughout the evening) to make sure I was happy with the service and the food (which was amazing!). I had chicken parm served with “Cacio e Pepe” which was such a delice! And finished with lemon panna cotta and espresso. Wine was really good, too. It is not very cheap but you get what you pay for. Such a homey restaurant (with a lovely garden for summer) so I totally recommend it, for both the food and the old school neighborhood restaurant wibe that we miss a lot these days.

Three words I could describe this restaurant as would be hospitable, cozy, and exquisite. Perfect setting for a large group of friends, friends and family in town, girls night, or a one on one setting. Chef Maurizio and his wife will personally greet you and talk to you the entire time of your meal and explain everything. This restaurant is my favorite place I’ve ever eaten. 1000000% come here
