Causal vibe but the food presentation is wonderful. Lots of outdoor tables and people watching. Fantastic restaurant. I got the fried fish, and loved it.

I feel like I got scammed by the 4.5 star Google review on this place. This place is a dump. As soon as you walk in, my entire group got a bad feeling. Decided not to eat as we felt like the place was unsanitary. Drinks were served in cheap plastic cups. When I went to the bathroom that unsanitary fear was realized. The smell was horrendous and I almost threw up. Please heed this warning.

Hidden treasure in downtown seaport area. Go for the drinks but the food is a must!

1. Must order their fried rice
2. Must order their ginger wings
3. Must order their pork belly

The staff is also top notch! Make sure to have electrolytes ready. IYKYK

Decided to go with my family after briefly looking at the rating and menu. Was not expecting the gloriously sketchy dive bar vibe paired with super friendly wait staff who went out of their way to make a dish work for my mom who has some severe dietary restrictions.

I had the spicy shrimp noodle soup which was really just an out standing flavor, somehow distilled the essence of a seaside dock into a soup, and then added in enough heat to clear your sinuses a little.

Would love to swing by to watch some college football if I ever find my self in New York on an autumn Saturday.

Worst part of that the place was the embarrassment not knowing how to open the front door! But it was a really cool place. Jammed. Unusual in that the food was very good. Asian cuisine. Bartender or waiter or whoever he was walking around doing shots with the customers. I would definitely go back!

Hands down one of the best home style Thai restaurants disguised as a dive bar. Friendly service and if you hang out long enough you’ll get a free shot of whiskey. The ginger wings were cooked to perfection so juicy and tender.

Tip: to open the front door which has no handles reach for the top corner and pull.

Vibe was weird. Super uncomfortable experience. Never given a 1 star review till now.

Bar was a bit crowded so we walked in, said hi to our friends who had already gotten a few rounds, then went to the bathroom line before ordering a drink.

They tapped us on the arm and said “YOU HAVE TO GET A DRINK BEFORE USING THE BATHROOM” then screamed across the bar, finger pointed down on our heads “HEY. MAKE SURE THESE THREE BUY A DRINK BEFORE USING THE RESTROOM. HIM, HIM, AND HER”

So one of us buys a drink. The dude follows us and goes “no. All three of you have to buy a drink.”

And then points on our heads again. And says “this one and this one”

We’re like “ok can the girl in our group pee?” Nope. Everyone needs a drink. Forget the fact that our group already ordered food and drinks.

Place was weird for other reasons but that stuck out. Just be like “hey sorry we have a pretty strict bathroom policy, do you mind buying a drink first?” instead of pointing on a girl’s head and announcing to the bar she can’t pee.

In my opinion: my experience with this place gets worse by the visit. I remember the food being delicious the very first time I went and I have been bringing my friends to the place but unfortunately have not been able to get a table since then. I was once told they had no more table seatings even though a group of 5+ customers were leaving their table. Some bartenders should pretend better that they enjoy working there lol. If you appear young, expect a negative demeanor.

I was surprised about this place, The Fish Market. I found this place online through Yelp. I initially thought that it was a restaurant, but when I showed up there with my friend, I realized that it was a bar.
We went in anyway because I was really looking forward to trying the crispy fried rice with chicken. My friend was game to try anything on the menu. He had their burger with fries.
The food was surprisingly very good! I thought my dish was very tasty. My friend liked his meal just fine.
The atmosphere of the place was like most sports/dive bars; most patrons hanging/sitting at the bar, drinking, etc., loud music, but not enough to where you couldn't hear yourself talk, and big screen TVs showing sports and sports memorabilia on the walls finished off the spaces.
Overall, my friend and I had a good time at The Fish Market. The service was good. We didn't wait long for the food, and the prices were rather affordable for the amount of food you received. I will go back there again in the future and try some of their other menu options.

The chubby Asian guy behind the bar is an angry nasty pos. Jumps to conclusions and yells at ppl just because they use the bathroom before ordering a drink/food even after explaining we were looking/meeting friends at his bar to celebrate a birthday (when they were holding the dam cake for my friend) the dummy couldn’t even connect the dots. It’s a shame because we all probably would have had a good time there considering it’s a patriot bar and they hate Biden.

The food was great, Laksa (off menu) was super rich and flavorful. Fried rice also excellent as were the ginger wings. The rendang is also surprisingly good, and that’s coming from a Sydney Expat.

Really pulled off the dive bar aesthetic complete with a front door that doesn’t have a door knob….hilarious.

The crowd is a little ‘finance-bro-blue-collar-tourism’ but it’s the neighborhood so makes sense.

Posh (you are in NYC in the FiDi) and small dive bar, need-to-know where it is, a la speak easy, super friendly staff.
Not recommended for dinner even for a diver bar :) Everything is fried: the fish tacos (and the taco is a little cardboard-y), pop-corn shrimps, mac 'n' cheese, pork dumpling (crispy/chewy, a "little rushed"), and I would recommend to avoid the chicken wings - extra extra dry chicken and not that flavorful.
