Nara Sushi/Kumo

Always my go-to spot for sushi near work! I usually order online for pick up and it’s always ready by the time I walk over. Great lunch deal for a great price! It’s three rolls and a choice of a soup or salad. I always get spicy salmon, salmon avocado, and shrimp tempura. The actual restaurant itself is a bit small so it gets a but crowded during lunch time when you’re at the entrance trying to pick up the order but overall very quick and easy.

It’s a small cozy sushi spot! I loved the atmosphere they had and they were so friendly. I ordered Lion, Rainbow and Philly rolls and it was all delicious 🤤 I’d love to visit again anytime we go back to that area soon!

Cleanliness questionable. Although the waitresses were nice and attentive and the business had clearly put in effort to construct a certain pop-Japanese atmosphere, the sanitation of both the food and restaurant were questionable. Not a welcoming feeling at a place serving raw fish. There was even a fly in the soy sauce.

The place and ambiance is great. Cute decor and attentive service. The food itself was okay. I got the 9 piece nigiri deluxe. The sushi quality was not to my liking. One of them was very very fishy. And the tuna roll was chewy as well. Maybe the regular sushi is better but for nigiri it could be better.

Very neat, cozy spot in FiDi area. Stopped in for a late lunch, sushi is very fresh and good quality, and service is fast. The walls are decorated floor to ceiling with Japanese art, anime posters, and decor. Would love to come back here when I visit NYC again!

Excellent food and service. We had a party of 6, ordered gyoza, miso soup, seaweed salad, sushi rolls, edamame, sake. Everything was delicious. Staff was courteous and attentive. I would definitely eat here again. Specifically I thought the gyoza was so good. Thanks so much

I have a sushi restaurant I go to that is in my home state that sends their chefs overseas every couple years to train. This place is on par with my normal restaurant. Great sushi and sashimi. Service is amazing!!! Servwr have great recommendations and checked in to make sure we were taken care of. Loved the music playing over the intercom. Not too loud to have a conversation with others at my table but not too low that I couldn't enjoy it. 10 out of 10, I would recommend!

NOT recommended from any size group other than couples. How they have their seating arranged is geared toward couples. Otherwise, food is basic for a quick fix at financial district prices. Zest sushi was way better in all regards.

This hole in the wall, budget sushi stop punches well above its weight. The $20-30 per person rolls and bentos are definitely worth more than they charge. We come here every other month or so when we want sushi that’s close to the house (and doesn’t break the bank). We usually spend about $40-50 and have a meal to take home for later. The bentos are a crazy value. My dinner bento had 2 tempura shrimp, a mountain of tempura vegetables, a tuna roll, dumplings, rice and Miso soup for $24 or thereabouts.

Petit resto très sympa, on a pris un menu midi à 15.50 dollars avec 18 makis de taille raisonnable et une soupe ou salade (attention la salade n'est pas la salade de choux blanc comme en France c'est une vrai salade verte) c'était délicieux, je recommande de manger à l'intérieur le décors est très travaillé et l'ambiance est agréable.

I'm coeliac and always quite nervous to order sushi/sashimi in case there is any hidden gluten but I had a great experience at Nara Sushi: they had gluten free soy sauce and the chef was knowledgeable about which options were ok for me. Nice ambience and the fish was great quality - definitely would recommend :)

Got the chefs choice nigiri platter (don't remember the name). Sushi was pretty fresh and k liked most of them besides the mackerel since I'm usually not a fan of that.

Their lunch special deals are pretty good so probably going to get that next time.

Sushi was great, and I love the decorating of the restaurant. The signature roll I received was considerably smaller than the average roll (of the same kind) that I’ve had in other places for a similar price, almost half the amount. If you have the money and a small appetite, you should definitely give it a try.

This morning walking by my mother slipped from the disgusting water they leave out side, when I notified the staff they did nothing about it. If this is how they maintain there business it’s pretty upsetting. Everyone that was walking by was slipping. They could care less. Do better before someone truly gets hurt and sues your establishment.

Realmente sorprendente, buscas un Japo para comer, entras sin muchas expectativas y sales mucho más que satisfecho. Local pequeño pero acogedor y bien decorado, servicio muy rápido, se agradecería algo de Spanish pero al final te acabas entendiendo con buena voluntad. La comida, lo mejor de todo, pedimos un combo de sashimi y nigiri para 2 con dos sopas miso incluidas, buen sabor, calidad y raciones generosas, también aparte una ensalada de salmón, sorprendente. Para repetir, lástima que viajar a New York no se pueda repetir todos los días. 😉

I have ordered Nara Sushi various times; it honestly has become one of my favorite Japanese delivery options. When I realized I was close to the restaurant decided to give it a try in person. The place is charming and feels like a tiny restaurant in the streets of Japan. The food was delicious and came very quickly! And overall, the price always blows me away. I mean, $32,00 for miso soup and that much sushi in New York? Wow!

Placed an order on Uber Eats and they kept delaying it, delaying it, and delaying it. Then told me that the order was already on its way and should be there soon. This was already after the delivery window closed and the restaurant had also closed. They then just cancelled the order with no explanation.

If you had just cancelled it right away, I could have at least found somewhere else to order from.

Very good place to be located in Lower Manhattan, very reasonable prices, small but cozy, the only two comments l can have are that the table service is a little slow, and the menu could include a couple more soup variety.
