Bob Evans

This Bob Evans location really struggles with the breakfast food. I normally go to the New Philadelphia location which is consistently as it should be. I've been in this dover location 3 or 4 times over the last year or so and it's bad everytime. Always so greasy, French toast not even barely more than a plain piece of bread. Eggs put in the microwave that turned green, etc, etc.

I used to love Bob Evans salads, but they added an extremely bitter lettuce to their mix and it's NOT good at all. Please go back to your old mix

Had a really nice experience here. This restaurant had a great chicken sandwich and the brocoli was delicious. So were the green beans and ice cream. The restaurant was very quiet and I definitely appreciated it.

Everything is very good, but there is too much salt in the potatoes and dressing. With so many people with heart and blood pressure issues, cut the salt in half. If I want more salt, it's better I add it because you can't take it away.

The hostess did not know what she was doing & the managers were no help to their staff. We had a larger party and waited an hour to be seated because the hostess did not know how to accommodate us.
Our waitress was awesome. Timely & polite.

Came to Bobs for breakfast. The service was fast, and not much of a wait time. I got french toast with home fries and an egg. Our waitress was nice & checked up on us a few times. My son actually got chicken tenders and they were still sizzling, that's how quick she got our food to us.

Our latest dine in experience was very disappointing at the Dover location, as has other occasions here. Service was slow, food was cold and the portion sizes of the hashbrowns and pancakes were ridiculous. The hashbrowns served were about 4 bites of crunchy, cold grease. I asked the waitress for another plate of them, which ended up being the only hot thing served besides my coffee. The pancakes were tiny and cold. Our Bob Evans at the Belden Village location serves pancakes that fill the plate and they are always hot and fluffy.

We stopped here a month or so ago and so did several others and it was closed and had a sign taped on it temporarily closed. The next day on our way back home it was still closed. Idk what the problem was

Breakfast was horrible. Our portions were half the size of other Bob Evans we've been too. Eggs were cold and under cooked. Server said she would be back with more coffee and never returned. $43 with tip rip off. Will never be back to this location.

Waitress was very nice, smiled, joked around, consistently came back to see if we needed anything. What a relief considering customer service is at an all time low in my opinion.

It appears to be a recently updated restaurant.Food and service was great,but the server needed to be more friendly.My wife had commented that and the server overheard her.Her demeanor changed drastically.But overall,was a great experience

So.. where do I begin? Well first this review is only 3 stars because I like like their Bob Evan's mashed potatoes that they sell in stores. Second, this is the first time I actually ate their other food. I got the Farmhouse Breaded Fried Chicken sandwich, it was okay, the chicken kept falling out of the breading as I ate it and it was kinda dry and unflavored; no seasoning. I also got the Special Recipe Mac and Cheese they have there. That was awful, quite funky smelling and tasted more like dead fish; might have been spoiled idk for sure though. Finally for dessert I got banana nut bread. That was phenomenal. All in all this was an interesting experience, just don't order the Special Recipe Mac and Cheese; everything else is probably safe to eat, especially their banana nut bread

I'm traveling to Michigan and stopped at Bob Evans Dover Ohio at 1130 am on Monday June 24. The restaurant and service was fine. My breakfast was good but the portions were really small. The hash browns were half what I get at other places. I'm still hungry. Should have went to cracker barrel.

The Bob Evans in Dover was 10 times better then the Bob Evans in New Philadelphia. Food cooked better. Service better. I'll drive the extra miles to go there.

Greeter was friendly, was taken to a table that was dirty, I actually had to sweep food off the seat before sitting down. Table next to us was even dirtier! Entire place seemed dirty honestly. Pancakes and sausage was over cooked and the eggs were under cooked. Couldn't use a fork because of it! Overall a very disappointing experience. Been 20 years since I went to Bob Evans to sit down and eat. Will be the last time! Shame what's happened to it.

Don’t ever tell a customer you can get their drinks but can’t take their order because someone is ahead of them. That’s the rudest encounter and most unprofessional customer service! Will not be returning! Epic fail! Good thing this waitress isn’t in nursing because that would be an immediate office intervention!

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE SERVICE! The waitress was VERY unprofessional and honestly just seemed downright miserable. I don't understand how you can work in the service industry with that kind of attitude. 5 tables that were seated 15 minutes after us all got their food and were almost done eating before we got ours. Will never go back! And hope that the server never does either!

Food is good but our waitress was rude and was talking bad about other employees..I asked about a waitress that we liked when we visited last and she told us she was fired..after that she became very rude and I asked for a cup of coffee she almost spilled it on me and when she brought our food she slammed the plate on the table ..I brought it to other employees attention but they all said she gets away with alot and acted almost afraid of her.i remember her name was Megan so if you go there don't get her ...we will not be back nor will my family or friends until she is no longer there..

My wife ordered the Farmers choice. Bacon was not how she ordered it. Ask for it crisp waiters took it back 2 seconds later came back with someone else plate Bacon still not rite. Scrambled eggs were not cooked, pancakes were very doughy. Not until the end of meal management came to ask if she wanted more eggs. Buy that time we were ready to leave. The whole meal was not satisfying. They were not busy@ the time we ordered.

Got there around 3 for dinner not at all busy maybe 4 tables ...didn't get good service and then to tip it off the food wasn't that good ..biscuits were hard and she got the honey chicken and it came out raw ..couldn't find no one for like 10 minutes until I ask a different server to fix it ..didn't talk to any manager about that or was there any kind of discount..very disappointed

The last few times I have dined in the food has not been very good. The pancakes are now so small that my grandson(6) doesn’t even get full on 3 of them.They have gone from a nice size to about 1/3 of what they use to be. I had a sunshine skillet that was cold, and the potatoes in it were hard. Please do better like you have done in the past.

Corporate must be cutting corners, this is not the food it used to be! Bacon and sausage tasted like bad knock offs. Everything tasted "OFF".
Cooks on the flat tops are not even getting the potatoes hot thru....very disappointed, will not be back.

We took my husband's stepmother for a pre-Thanksgiving lunch since we wouldn't be together for the holiday. All of us enjoyed our food, & she took half her BLT & a piece of pecan pie to go for her dinner that night. She loved her big onion rings. The waitress brought us a coffee mug to transfer my mother-in-law's cold drink since she had difficulty lifting the pint jar with no handle.

French toast was so hard you couldn't cut it with fork. Seemed like it had sat out all night uncovered and then put under a heat lamp. They did deduct $5 off my order and manager said they would monitor the kitchen better.

Atmosphere is standard for the chain, even the same design as several others I've visited. Service was reasonable, nothing wrong, but nothing stand out good.

Now to the food. Been going to these places for years and they used to be good. Unfortunately like many other older chains the quality has dropped to disappointing quality. The breaded chicken was obviously from frozen, cooked at too high a temperature for too long. So slightly burnt and dry. Vegetables are from canned and not a high quality. Probably put on and kept worm for a while, so also over cooked and tasteless. Mashed potatoes are premade and nothing special, at least the gravy hasn't changed so is good.

My 'make your own omelet' was not as good as one I could have made my self but because I didn't have to and because my husband was happy with his biscuits and gravy, it was an overall win 😉

On my last visit to this restaurant, I did not stay to eat, because a tour bus full of passengers had filled the restaurant and I was told that there was a 45 minute wait time. Not wanting to wait that long, I decided to go somewhere else. However, later it occurred to me that I should have ordered food to go and taken it home.

Riley had my order done promptly. Mr. Rob is a wonderful and helpful employee as well. The restaurant was clean and sanitized. Friendly and amazing service overall!!!
