JOANN Fabric and Crafts

I’ve really tried to give this place a chance because it’s close and convenient, but it’s just not worth it to me. I placed a pickup order a few weeks and checked in. Sat in my car for 15 minutes waiting (I know I’m not the only person in the world) before calling and being put on hold for another 15 minutes. Finally someone answered and I was told I would need to come into the store to get my things. At that point, it would have just been quicker to grab my stuff and checkout. What’s the point of accepting curb side orders if you don’t have people who can fulfill the curbside order? Regardless, I chalked it up to being a one time thing.

Last night, I placed another pick up order. Almost 24 hours later I hadn’t gotten the pick up notification so I just went to the store to grab stuff myself. Guessing I didn’t get notified because almost everything I was trying to get was not in stock. I grabbed what I could while also being yelled at across the store by a male employee to comment on my appearance and ask my name. I was across the store from him. Wildly inappropriate and uncomfortable. There was one person running the registers which wasn’t their fault but they were a little snarky and held up the line because they weren’t aware of some deal going on or not going on.

Overall, this store just feels disorganized and hasn’t really saved me any time or even provided the products I need. I don’t think it’s entirely fair to blame the employees (except for the one yelling across the store at me?), but there needs to be some serious reform. If I was the store manager or higher up in the company, I would look at the feedback provided by myself and your other customers and take that seriously! Thanks.

I was shocked at the disarray and dirtiness of the store! Unopened boxes and inventory chaos. The restroom was foul. The front door alarm was malfunctioning and beeping the entire time. The poor cashiers were having to screen that out! One of the cashiers, Calista, was exemplary maintaining a happy attitude and problem solving. She stayed calm, even when others around her were not doing as well. Please give her a raise!

It took 45 minutes just to get my 3 yards of fabric cut. There was a line of about 15 people at the cutting counter and only 1 person working. While waiting I walked around the store to see if there was any manager or store associate to help but the only other employee in the whole store was at the register with a line about the same as the cutting counter.

When I tried to call the store to get some help no one answered, and I called 5 times. This is honestly disgusting. 45 minutes to get fabric cut, 15 minutes just to check out is just appalling.

The back of store looks more like a stockroom with large boxes and fabric blocking the aisles. How this place is still open is beyond me. Joann Fabrics you should be disgusted with yourselves. Pay your employees a living wage hire full time employees, or don’t be a business.

Warning to other crafters!! Get your supplies elsewhere. They probably don't have what you need in stock.

Something is wrong and I can tell you it's not the store employees. Joann corporate needs to figure out how to treat their employees better because no one is going to want to work for a company that pays them minimum wage and doesn't give them enough scheduling hours to fix their store.

The last time I was there almost nothing I needed was in stock, the store was an absolute wreck and there was one poor cashier helping a line of 20 people. Now you don't even have enough employees to keep regular business hours.

I'll be getting my supplies online or if I'm in a rush I'll be going to Michael's or Walmart. It's normally cheaper that way anyway.

This is NOT a critique of the employees but rather whoever is responsible for allowing this store to remain open in this condition. Shelves are empty and boxes are everywhere (at this point it is a SAFETY issue). This store is obviously drowning and needs TIME for employees to be able catch up to the piling inventory for the sake of employees AND customers. I can’t imagine the stress of working in this kind of environment.

I was in the store Black Friday looking to replace a button on a vintage suit. I found a blingy one but the card was missing its pair. When I pointed it out to the man at the resister he said, " Did it happen to fall into your bag?"
I was so offended. I said "I would do that."
HE grew testy but I did not respond. I asked how much the buttons were for the one and a matching pair. He answered "$16."
Me: " I think I'll pass" and left. I will not return. Ever.

Walking into this JoAnn feels like walking into the beginnings of the set of a post-apocalyptic movie. The shelves are mostly empty, there's random stuff just sorta strewn everywhere, and no one there seems fully conscious. Perhaps that's an effect of the store itself. This location is 10 minutes from where I work and the most convenient location for me, but I try to avoid it when I can. The staff are nice enough, but there clearly are not enough of them.

I love Dry flowers and Joann has so many beautiful flowers 💐 they have many different varieties of artificial flowers and decorations stuff. Great place to find all kinds of fabrics, jewel designs, and home decorations.

Just went here a couple minutes ago. Very long line with only 2 cashiers. Waited 1 hour just to check out! Huge bottleneck. Allocate staffing during weekends, have self service, or something because this is not working

DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCTS SOLD!

Recently purchased a "NEW" Brother Skitch from Joanne's. Unboxed the machine and attempted to embroider a simple design only to have the machine lock up. I followed the troubleshooting tips and could get the machine to work briefly before it would lock up again. After 3 broken needles and several hours of troubleshooting it was decided the machine is a lemon.

To my surprise, Joanne's will sell you a machine, however does not take them back when they don't work. Not a good business model to sell faulty equipment and not stand behind what you're selling. This will be my last time shopping here. Hellooooo Amazon!

I visited this store today to purchase some yarn and unfortunately needed to use the restroom. Boy was that a mistake!!!! I used that restroom a year ago and it was in bad shape, and today I see nothing's changed. It is still FILTHY!!!! If I could have avoided going in there, I would have! It stinks to high heaven. The sinks look like black dirt was brought in from outside; only one soap dispenser works. The floor is nasty (making it necessary for me to disinfect the bottoms of my shoes when I got home), and there was brown fecal stains leading all the way out the door and down the main aisle that everyone seems to be ignoring. To never clean the restroom is a disgrace and customers should not have to be subjected to such filth!

Most times I go in, I expect at least a 20 minute wait to check out. They are always slow and understaffed. But in the midst of one of their largest sales, on a Saturday afternoon, they have ONE cashier, and a line that snakes through the whole front of the store and reaches to the restrooms. I came, I saw, I left, and I'm so done with this store and it's terrible management.

My pick up order wasn’t ready and wouldn’t be for a week - I struggled to rework the designs I’d planned and was in a right state. Kayla, Candace & Emily were ABSOLUTE gems! They were kind, patient, courteous and helped me find substitutions for every item I needed despite being woefully understaffed. They literally saved my Christmas!! This was the BEST JoAnn’s customer service I’ve ever had!! I wish I could give them 10 stars out of 5. Attn: Corporate: This staff deserve raises and holiday bonuses! Make it happen!!

I go to this Joann’s a lot, and overall it’s pretty good. However, don’t not do any sort of pickup here. It took them two weeks to even get my order ready, and on top of that, they didn’t even have half of my order by the time they actually got it ready. I did a curbside pickup because I figured it would be quick. Ya know click I’m here, wait a few minutes, and they’ll bring your order out. I waited ten minutes before I went inside to get my CURBSIDE pickup order. I walked in and there was no one in line. I saw only maybe a few people walk out while waiting for my order. I will not be doing a pick up order of any sorts here again.

Completely ignored my online order for multiple days and there is no way my items will still be in stock now. Holding my payment hostage indefinitely because they refuse to cancel the order. They took my money, didn’t bother filling the order so it’s just “processing” forever, and won’t cancel and give me my money back. I will never shop with Joann again. I am going to have to do a chargeback on my card.

cool place, but they only had one cashier with a line of about 12 people or more. Also pricing was confusing; I purchased an item that I thought was 5 or 7 Dollars and it turned out to be 21 Dollars. Still good selection and I've gotten good help this trip and a previous one.

To management- you NEED to hire more people. Your staff are kind people who are doing their absolute best but you are quite obviously not giving them the staffing nor support they need. They seem to like what they do but I wouldn’t be surprised if they quit because you are failing them.
I have nothing but good things to say about the employees here & I cannot fault them for the way upper management is not stepping up support for this store

I’m a big fan of Joann stores but this location is falling apart at the seams. It has really gone downhill in the past year. I have been continuing to visit hoping that things would get better but unfortunately, I decided today that I’ll have to drive to another location from now on.

It’s a mess with stuff ALL over the store- boxes, out of place items, trash, carts of random merchandise. Many shelves are just completely empty because they have not been restocked.

Some employees have been kind and professional but others have been very obviously disgruntled and openly complaining about managers and other coworkers.

Joann- please help this store! It’s in need of some serious intervention.

This store is in complete meltdown. The patterns have been sitting still packed in open boxes for months. Boxes are all over the store, nobody is restocking anything. I went in today for 5 items and found one of the five. What's up? Is the neighborhood too ethnic? There is a Chinese grocery store, Indian grocery store, etc. in the same strip mall. Is it going to be easier to just move the boxes when store closes down? Or maybe nobody wants to work for that manager for minimum wage? Or sales are good enough with whatever is on the shelves, so why bother? I left empty-handed and am shopping on-line.

Joann has a great selection of fabrics, sewing machines (my husband bought me 2 machines from here utilizing great deals at Christmas time), sewing accessories, craft supplies and yarn. They used to carry small 3d printers and filament, which I'm hoping they'll carry again! There are great sales and they offer a lot of coupons. Make sure you download the app, and try every coupon when checking out because sometimes you think a coupon will work and it doesn't.

decent store with updated design, decent selection. register staffing needs work. that aside, i’m mainly writing to remark on the strange scent at the front of the store, which is similar to an animal shelter (though not as strong). i often go to a different joann’s because of this. other joann’s stores are pet friendly, but don’t smell like this.

The staff is fantastic and I gave this a 3 because I have always found all your restrooms totally horrible.
It really is a health hazard just opening the door.
Never have toilet paper,paper towels or soap to wash hands and the sink is so gross no one wants to put our hands in that sink!’I am not exaggerating when I say your toilets are so nasty.( I realize part of this is the fault of the women who use these facilities!) who doesn’t know how to flush a toilet?? I am serious. And why throw tampons and Kotex on the floors.
I am not kidding you- ladies we have got to take more pride and I know it is dirty in there but let’s try to do our part and be ladies- and if you find it is nasty- say something. If enough of us complain maybe they will make it at least clean enough for us to wash our hands.
Please clean up your restrooms. It says a lot about who you are and I know you can do better.

What can I say? It's my Graceland! I love going to Joann Fabrics and picking out fabric for my latest project. But they have so much other great stuff! You could be in there all day! The only thing that would make it better, would be if they organized it a little better and had staff members around who could answer questions.

This has been my least favorite store for a very long time. Joann corporate has issues that make me very angry, i.e. very quickly stop selling products that are exclusive to them so if u miscalculated and need more of something not considered a staple ur SOL. But this store is the worst. I've shopped Joann since I was a kid with my mom in the 90s and this store has always been my last resort. The staff is so rude and couldn't care less what u need or if u need help. They will straight up yell at u if u don't understand the fabric counter procedure. This particular complaint has to do with their online ordering. It says on the site, order by 3pm for same day fulfillment. They encourage u to order online and pickup by making the 25% off coupon for pickup orders only or u can go in store stand in mile long lines enduring rude staff then pay more for the same product. I ordered a project to do while my sister was over for the weekend at noon yesterday. I get that its close to Christmas and they're slammed but don't make promises u can't keep. The guy on the phone told me I can come pick the items myself and show them the order to process it. I just wasted a whole day waiting on them and now I'm supposed to be inconvenienced further? This is why I tend to go to West Broad even though its much further from my house. The same core staff has worked there for 10+ years and is so helpful and nice. They also fulfill orders usually within an hour or 2. Oh and they actually have stuff in stock so u don't have to change ur selection just bc they're out of everything. Sawmill Joanns is the WORST. Make the drive anywhere else. U won't regret it.

I don’t know what it is about this location because I certainly hope it’s not all Jo’s but this one is garbage. Lines are ALWAYS long and staff are bland and unwelcoming. I decided to place a curbside order (thinking it would be faster) for ONE skein of yarn to avoid entering the store and I spent TWO whole days waiting on the pickup email. I ended up going inside to get it myself as I have never had to wait more than a few hours for a curbside order anywhere… and they STILL didn’t have my one ball of yarn ready for pickup. This store is a joke and the lame customer service is unreal. Never again at this location will I ever smfh.

We went looking for a specific type of fabric for a cosplay costume. I was approached by an employee who, after describing what I was looking for, lead me in the right direction. We found everything we needed. Thanks!

Not CCW friendly...they have the tiniest no gun sign, on their front, at the bottom where the glass meets the floor. Move that sign up so people can see it.

I absolutely do not enjoy going to JOANN Fabrics. There are times though I am forced to because of time and their selection of products. It is actually the staff that makes the experience unpleasant. They are the most disinterested group of people I have seen in a retail environment. They are not friendly or customer focused in any way at all. It has been this way for years there. Which leads me to believe it is a corporate culture or it would not be tolerated. If I can't find what I need at Amazon I always try Michael's Crafts across the street first.

Was sent here from W Broad location for the fabric I wanted. I was told it would be ready at the registers. So I waited in line to get to a register and they claim they didn't know how much I wanted (I listened to theW Broad associate tell them twice) and handled me the fabric roll to get cut at the back of the store. I then I had to wait in line again to get the fabric cut. The same associate who sent me to the back of the store to get it cut, came up to help cut fabric and left before I could get my fabric cut.and then I had to wait in line at the register again. Just was not a good first expierence at this store at all.

Wow- Christmas is definitely on the way!!!! Found everything i had on my list and more. Clothesline, doublefold bias tape, orange candy balls, and a small flower pot with saucer!!!!! Love all my purchases!!!!!

The store was very nice and organized. I had an issue with the billing. The online price was 8.39 but the item ring up higher.
Main number explained that online prices are different.
I was promised a gift card.

Good selection of threads including some recycled options. There was an extremely long line for checkout with only one cashier working. She maintained a calm and not stressed demeanor and eventually to other registers opened to help, so the wait wasn't terrible.

Large crafting and fabric store. They have recently changed things around and updated the workshop area. A solid mix of crafting supplies along with staff that are pretty familiar with the store.

Clean store, stocked shelves, very helpful at the cutting station. Definitely need more staff at the main checkout area. Line was at least 10 people deep with 2 checkout people and even longer when I left.

I don't know what has happened to this location. No one seemed interested in helping anyone and they were rude to a woman at the cutting table. I know it's the holiday season but it was early in the day and we are all dealing with stress. This used to be a great place to go and it is the closest to our home. May have to start going to the Polaris location or find a new craft store.

This store is very nice. Its clean, stocked. Employees very friendly, and helpful. I was with a friend who's 94 yrs young, and they went above and beyond to help out. Thank you!!

I was quite surprised at how Joann had changed. Much more fabrics displayed in easy to view displays. Plenty of sewing equipment and accessories and threads ...

The store is so bright and colorful. Examples of finished works. And staff that knows and helps you.

I spent an hour browsing it was so interesting.

Good selection, nice staff, decent layout (I'm still getting used to it, but I think I like it). It's a Joann's! I couldn't find the yarn I wanted, but I'm a bit picky, so that's not surprising.

Great choices. Expensive but good coupons. Got lots of Xmas present and great crafts and sewing related stuff. Staff is always pleasant and extremely friendly!!
