Books-A-Million stores range from 4,000 to 30,000 sq. ft. and offer a vast array of knowledge and entertainment. The extensive product selection includes books, magazines, autographed books, collectibles, toys and music. Additionally, you can find special category shops within the store, making it a haven for diverse interests and passions.
This was my first time going to a Books A Million store, and I was very impressed. They had just about every book you might be looking for (new, of course...not the rare first editions of older book, unfortunately). Some of the titles were a little difficult to locate, maybe due to the fact that I have not been in a bookstore for so long. For example, looking for a newer book by Owen King, I could not find it in the K's in the fiction section, but located it elsewhere in the store. Books A Million also offers popular action figures, such as Marvel Legends and DC McFarland figurines. Lots of other memorabilia is also sold here, as well as shirts, calendars, vinyl records, ect. I did notice that all of the books are priced at what is on the dust jackets, so no discounts like you will find on Amazon or Target stores. But, I'm glad bookstores like this still exist.

It's a fun store with a lot more than books. The employees are super friendly and helpful, helped me with different sections of the store. It's so big that it is a little overwhelming and the bathroom was kinda stinky and dusty. Highly recommend!

Worst experience ever and will never shop there again! We were looking for a Barnes and Noble, but ended up at Books-a-Million and that turned out to be a huge mistake. We were shopping for books for our grandchildren for Christmas. It was hard to find anyone to ask a question, but finally located someone and said I was trying to find the Chicken Soup for the Soul books as we searched everywhere we could think of. She told me they would be in the cooking section. I told her they aren't cookbooks and explained more. She you are the second person to ask me about those books today. Obviously she didn't figure anything out after the first person asked. She asked another employee and told me general area never bothering to actually help me find it.
We finally get all of our purchases and head to the register where Bob, the cashier says they are out of bags and then magically is able to use a Books-a-Million reusable bag after making a big deal of having it to us for free. We didn't ask for it. Then he proceeds to try to sell a membership to us. He get going on and on and on about the features. I had already told him I use audio books through another source and really only shop for books at Christmas. He started all over again about the membership and told me I'd save $15 today. I asked how much it costs and he wouldn't tell me just kept telling me every feature of it that I already said I wouldn't use. All the while there is a long line of customers waiting. I asked to more times how much the membership is and he still wouldn't answer. I then said is the cost less than $15. He just repeated my question and began all over again about the benefits so I finally just said I don't want it. At that point, my husband walked out as he couldn't stand there and listen to him anymore. I paid and he gave my receipt and just stood there now not willing to bag my many items in the bag he had made such a huge deal about. I tried to pick up the purchases, but I had too many to carry and began dropping them and some were fragile so I set them down and said I need to get my husband to help me and went outside to get him. We had decided we were just going to ask for a refund at this point, but he had everything bagged up them and was holding the bag over the counter like the huge jerk he had shown himself to be throughout the whole ordeal. I took it and said thank you ad I didn't want to deal with him one minute longer. From now on I will find somewhere else to shop for books!

Spent over 50 on 3 books. Was harassed at the register to sign up for their membership. I politely declined and then was asked why. None of your business. Then asked for a bag. Was told no. They were Bag less. Selling paperback books, in a state that has all 4 seasons and not providing bags to prevent damage is crazy.

Love coming here! The only thing I wish is that they would stock stuff more, everytime I go the same books are missing and I rarely go there! Also their staff harasses you to subscribe to their membership program. They don't get that no means no! If you say no they keep trying to talk you into it and then they don't give you a bag-rude! If it wasn't for those two things it give a 5 star. (Also don't get the magazine offer they offer you, my husband did this years ago and got scammed really bad!)

Service is great. My only complaint is no one is made aware that they won’t give you a bag. Your prices are still high and I can’t get a bag for a “book” that I bought and have to take it out in the rain for it to get messed up. I have been there before and bought multiple items such as coffee cups (breakable) and several books to be told they’re out of bags and have nothing to wrap the breakable items in. Not cool. If I’m spending close to $200 dollars in your store the least you can do is give me a bag. This is Books-A-Million not the workers. They are only following store policy which should change.

A very large selection of every type of book. Children to science, they have it all. Various puzzles, games, and collectibles also round out the variety of items. Prices are moderate to high, but the overabundance of items on clearance and deals more than make up for it.
Staff is friendly and helpful. A coffee bar is also on site.

The prices could be a little better; but they have a great selection and it’s a good store to walk around and browse any kind of books. They also won’t price match their own website, which is a bummer.
The coffee store inside makes all kinds of lattes, coffees and has a limited bakery.

I could walk through this store all day long. Coffee shop, tables, chairs, charging stations, kid play area. There's amazing gift ideas here. My favorite is the book smell as soon as you walk through the door! They have classic books from when I was a kid, weird genres I've never considered, and the popular books everyone's looking for. They also have small gift ideas and helpful lay outs. I love that most of the staff are also awesome weirdos. I'd give more stars if I could. Store is always tidy!

My husband and I have been here a few times now. I found what I wanted but a lot of what he wanted showed that it was in stock, but was nowhere to be found.
We go to check out and of course they push their paid membership option for discounts and whatnot, as they do EVERY TIME. I politely say no thank you, we’ve heard about it the other times we’ve been in and aren’t interested. The man checking us out basically berated us for not signing up, talking to us as if we were stupid. This was just today, 3/30/24.
I also had a bad online shopping experience, ordered online a week ago and it said 3-5 day shipping. Day 4 I had no updates so I checked online to find that my order had been cancelled for “unable to verify payment info” even though the charge came out of my account… makes sense.

I tried ordering just 2 books from their store online, both of which took a week to arrive. Though this was after they had previously cancelled my order for no discernible reason.
When I contacted customer support through email about this, they simply sent me a response copy-pasted from their store's FAQ, rather than actually attempt to help.
These people said it would take up to a week for me to get my money back on this order, though after contacting customer support for the second time they told me to wait another 4 DAYS for my refund, well beyond what they had previously stated was the maximum waiting period
I cannot recommend a store with such poor customer service and a complete lack of care for those who attempt to shop there. If you want to buy a book, just use amazon or another site, you can only trust Books a Million to take your money without giving you your product.
