Roses Discount Store

I purchased hair pins at a neighboring store and walked in carrying the small bag tied in a knot looped around my finger. The bag was smaller than the palm of my hand. One of the cashiers yelled at me from across the store telling me I couldn’t carry the bag in the store. I was so embarrassed as the store was crowded and everyone turned to stare. I was carrying a wristlet and this minuscule bag looped around my finger just big enough for a tiny package of hairpins. What could I possibly smuggle out of a discount store?? This was my first and last time shopping in this disorganized store.

If I could give this roses no stars I would. I had a horrible experience today with them. My mom was returning tshirts that she bought me, they didn't come with a tag if u walk around there alot of them don't. So my mom went to show the manger the one without the tag on the other shirt and she said can I swap this one out that doesn't have a tag on it as well, and than the manger yelled at my mom and said NO, meanwhile I was in the fitting room because the door was wide open, so I was like I can try the shirts on, the manger preceeding to follow my mom and I was opening the fitting room, with the 2 shirts and she started yelling at me saying YOU NOT SUPPOSED TO NOT BE in THERE WITHOUT SOMEONE HELPING U WITH THAT DOOR AND I FIND out that you did something we will have a problem and my mom cut her off and said she > had nothing to do with this and I said Ma'am what do u possibly think I was doing stealing? when I came out with two shirts that I walked in into the dressing room with, and I said do you think I would craw under the dressing room, I said I have nothing to do with this. She rolled her eyes at me And then the manger walked away she was shaking her head and flick my mom off and mom said have a nice day and flicked her off again.She was accusing me of stealing ! I will not be back there.

I love shopping at Roses. They have great prices and they are conveniently located. Wanda in the North Augusta always keep me informed about layaway plan, return policies, etc. She's an outstanding customer service executive.

I remember shopping at Roses as a kid and really enjoyed everything about it, especially the snack bar in the front of the store. They had some of the best hotdogs!!! After a while, every Roses in town closed down because they had to compete with the entity known as Walmart. The Roses’ in town were replaced with a Maxway in Southgate Plaza. That was there for a quite a few years. My great aunt loved that store so much. My uncle’s girlfriend from up north came to visit and she thought Maxway was the only store in Augusta because that was the only place she took her. That was so funny to my family!!! In recent years, the stores came back to town and got back into the swing of things. The only thing missing now is that great snack bar!!! I stop into this store at least once a month and come in to find a great variety of everything. I really like the T-shirt section. They are $3.99 and have a variety of phrases on them. I pay over $12 for some of my other ones from other stores and I think Roses’ T-shirt’s are just as good as the other ones I have. I have bought all kinds of things here like home decor, bedding, clothing, electronics, music, hardware tools, and more. The quality is just as good as anywhere else. Sometimes there are slight irregularities to some items, like I bought a 3 pack of V-neck undershirts. The package said they were white, but they were in fact black. That was the only thing wrong with them. I’m sure there are imperfections in other merchandise here, but it’s hardly anything noticeable. The store can be messy at times, but I’m sure it’s from customers rummaging through the merchandise to spot imperfections. The employees are friendly, but you rarely have any interactions with them unless you need a dressing room, looking for something in particular, or ringing up your purchases. I’m fine with that because I like to browse and shop in peace and not be hassled all time. That F’s up my flow sometimes when I’m out shopping!!! This is a legit shopping spot for me and my family!!!

Even though Roses, at one time, had good merchandise, today has allowed itself to carry second rate everything. Clothing is made with cheap fabric and are cut small due to being made overseas. You really have to look hard to find anything worth spending your hard-earned money on!

Rude staff, prices on the shelves dont match what it rings up, and the cashier is rude and dismissive about it, and unwilling to remedy it. A lot of stuff is broken, but being sold at full price, and a lot of the candy is out of date.

Got there at 8:50 this morning. Waited until 9:15 and nobody opened the doors. Employees walking around and talking on inside. I guess nobody cares anymore. I left.

This Roses is by far the best in the Augusta, and NA, Aiken area I live off peach orchard rd close to roses n Windsor spring and also the south gate one , the assoc in these store including the Aiken s store is the worst, by far , they are just rude so as for me I only shop the North Augusta store they are always kind and helpful I drive there to shop, the Windsor spring is just always nasty, dirty just getto!

Good to pick certain hidden gems here for less. Also, a quick in and out usually. Used to get many As Seen On TV items but many seem to be beginning to be phased out here. Some clothing maybe 100% cotton or 97% cotton that I need but have to have time to look since most clothes here have more synthetic fabrics. Curtain sheers have been found here in colors other than white. Childrens little Huggies kool aide drinks are also found here. Some small grape juices without the high fructose corn syrup was also here. Some electronics adapters or older use items plus newer electronics and small appliance items are in the store like DVD players, TVs, air conditioners, counter top stoves, can openers, crock pots, even an instant pot I believe I saw on the first or second middle aisle. I am not sure on if that was the instant pot type appliance that I saw but looked like one.

Went in to see if they might have a 4 slice toaster and a 6 slice toaster oven. Got both of them there for less than $40 including tax. They have both worked excellent.

Best place for plants!!!!! They are almost always taken care of and they have the lowest prices hands down ( at least in North augusta). Bought carnations for 3$ 3 months ago and they are still kicking.
