It's just a good fun family restaurant with awesome food. The menu is huge, so there is something for everyone. Service is great. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Great prices and big portions. A must stop.

A new favorite chain! Grateful this one was right next to our hotel. Some of the most kind, attentive staff (Ron and Lyssa were our wait staff) anywhere, and the menu "Black Bear Gazette" newspaper talks about how you'll get more than you thought and it'll be better than you thought, and our expectations were *still* exceeded on both those fronts.

We had the full course dinners with slow cooked pot roast and ribs, and then a turkey club and smaller dinner of pot roast for lunch, as well as a banana cream pie. Everything was at least good, and the ribs, roast, mashed potatoes and gravy, onion rings, huckleberry shake, and fresh squeezed orange juice were especially excellent.

I adore bears and clearly so do the folks at Black Bear diner! The decor was a real treat for me and the mementos/merch cute and tempting.

We will absolutely be back.

Enjoyed our time here. their was a 10 min wait, but it felt more like 5 min moved so quickly. the service was excellent, the food was fresh and delicious 😋. Loved the sauce so much that we ended up buying one on our way out.

Went in for breakfast with my 3 teenagers, and everyone found something they enjoyed. All the food was prepared pretty well, unless you like crispy hash browns. If you do, be sure to specify. We didn't, and they were kind of sad. Everything else was great, and 4 out of 5 left with lunch for later.

The Mr. and I have eaten here a handful of times for breakfast and they are consistent in service and food. Recently we had family in town, a party of 8. We called to give them a heads up regarding our large party just as a courtesy. When we arrived they had a table ready which was a pleasant surprise.

Our server was Daveo and he was patient with our large, very talkative group. In fact, he has been our server on a couple other occasions. His service, attentiveness and cheerful demeanor is unmatched. A true asset to the company.

Our food arrived hot, and cooked properly. Everyone was pleased with their meals. My sister-in-law said her waffle was the best she's ever had.

We have found the restaurant clean, including restrooms. Relaxed, family environment and fun bear gift shop. The Mr. personally loves the back scratcher!

We highly recommend for breakfast and will continue to stop when traveling through the area.

It’s not as good as it used to be. I ordered the ribs and chicken strips, with potato fries and seasonal vegetables on the side. Unfortunately, I was a bit disappointed. The ribs were too oily and not as tender as they used to be, and the sides weren’t satisfying enough to enjoy. The seasonal vegetables were just boiled broccoli and carrots, lacking flavor. Overall, it wasn’t a terrible experience, but this used to be our favorite spot to dine in. Sadly, not anymore.

The server was very nice and timely. I was really looking forward to this meal because it looked good. It was not. The eggs were ok, the cinnamon roll french toast was just barely ok, and the sausage patties were disgusting…I literally spit them out.

I also ordered a wrap to go for someone else. There was no fork for the coleslaw and the wrap was uneatable.

I have to reiterate the sausage patties were so bad. I can’t believe that is what they serve. If that is some type of “home style” food then maybe advise the customers.

Sitting at the Bar at Black Bear in Draper is always a great experience. Especially if you're a regular. Servers are social, kitchen staff is communcative and overall friendly. They'll talk to you as much as you want or leave you to your spaces if that's what you need.

My particular server's names were Joy, Gary, and Lucy. Fantastic energy and chemistry between all of them. While Saturday's and Sunday's can be their busiest times, the connective humanity stays the same no matter how busy the restaurant's get.

Food was great as always. We were there on a Sunday night. 1 table in our section hasnt been cleaned in the 40 mins we've been in there. And 4 tables still needed to be cleaned. No urgency with any of the staff. And it took 12 mins before our server even acknowledged us.

We love eating at BBD and we love our server Joy she is the best and on top of her profession, but the woman that was working the area where the food comes out, I think her name is Lucy, she is the worst co-worker to have for these serves. We where eating and she was yelling joys name in a very condescending way more than once, Lucy is very unprofessional and made our experience eating there horrible, someone really needs to teach her how to be more professional!!! Joy is one of the best servers I have had, please give her a promotion, and give Lucy a demotion as far as we are concerned!

Typically Christmas really sucks for me. The restaurant and more importantly it's employee's made my holiday much better than usual. I really like this place now and plan to return.

I didn't get my waiters name, however she was very helpful, attentive and pleasant to interact with.

We had a group Christmas dinner at this diner. Some people ordered full dinners and some people had traditional breakfast fare for dinner. The food service is very fast considering we had a large group and only one server assigned to us. The portions were generous. The atmosphere is a typical cozy diner environment. I hope we go back to this place next year for our group Christmas dinner, it's challenging to find a place that has good food and fair prices along with fast service for a group of people, but this place met all our needs.

We love Black Bear near us in Phoenix and we were pleased to see one near our hotel so we didn’t have to try and find a spot for a bite to eat. While they serve breakfast all day I opted for lunch this go round. Even though I love their sweet cream pancakes and sometimes eggs benedict. Today I opted for a simple BLT. A few others at the table ordered breakfast, chicken fried steak and more. Service was a bit slow at first, but once he came not only was he funny; he was quick, attentive and even played with my nephews cute little baby . Our area was clean and we had no issues. Only issue if that was that we stood quite a while at the hostess station before someone came up to help find us a table and seat us.

The server was very nice and timely. I was really looking forward to this meal because it looked good. It was not. The eggs were ok, the cinnamon roll french toast was just barely ok, and the sausage patties were disgusting…I literally spit them out.

This is the 2nd time I’ve gone to this location and have been totally ignored. Sat there for 8 minutes before leaving, can’t believe I went there again! Its not like they were busy, there was only 1 table with 2 people on my side of the restaurant.

We just dined at BB Diner in Draper and had a fantastic experience. On a cold night, nothing beats hot cocoa and pot roast dinner. Our server Hannah was attentive and so sweet with our 2 year old daughter. We look forward to returning!

We went out for Family Dinner here and it wasn’t a good choice! Our waitress was terrible. She ignored us must of the time and wasn’t very friendly either. Instead of bringing out everyone’s order she did one plate at a time and kept going back and forth to the kitchen. I got the fish and it just tasted like old burnt oil. Wouldn’t recommend going here and we won’t be going back.

I’ve had so many bad experiences at this location that I’m willing to go out of my way to go to another franchise. I love the food and the vibe but the service here is really bad. Tonight it took our server 15 minutes to approach us with no one else in the restaurant. Then my friend ordered a soup and 20 minutes later the server came back and said they were out of the soup and that the kitchen was closed. They had one or two suggestions of other things she could order but she wasn’t interested in those options due to her restricted diet. I had to ask three times for the bacon I ordered. I’m a talker and staff have had to ask me to leave restaurants before and there are plenty of ways to be polite. The staff are not polite and the management just does not care about their customers. Three or more times I went I had to wear my coat and a blanket because it was so cold in the restaurant.

Don’t order grits at dinner time. They make them in the morning and they are not creamy nor very warm!
If you order one of their large plates, the food is hot and tasty. Unfortunately, I ordered a smaller plate and it was room temperature. I also ordered a baked potato and the plate was hotter than the potato—it couldn’t melt butter.
We’ve had good meals at other locations, but will not be back to the Black Bear Diner in Draper.

It feels like a all American diner. The staff are funny and well balanced at their work and are willing to listen to concerns. This location has, without a doubt, been super consistent in their quality and atmosphere. Their joking professionalism is a delight. It brightened my day. They deserve some praise :)

Our server was great she was very attentive and even though the restaurant was busy our server was checking in with us and then she'd move on to other tables in her area. The food was great as well the family really felt the food tasted better than the other black bear locations.

Let me first start out by saying we are from New York. So our service isn't always the best but Michelle did her best to go above and beyond. She stayed on top of filling our coffee with a smile and fresh food. Also had recommendations on local spots we should check out while I'm town. Would definitely recommend stopping in to see Michelle and get some good food in a clean atmosphere.

I ordered avocado toast, French toast, and a cheeseburger to go.

What I got was hilariously bad. Me and my coworkers got it for our lunch break and burst out laughing when we saw what arrived. Nothing was seasoned, the bread on everything was soggy, no cheese on the cheeseburger, no syrup for the french toast, generously half an avocado for the toast. Bad for $12 a meal. I wonder if we had sat down if they would be able to face us and still serve this. I'll include a picture of my food when i pulled it out of the bag 😂

This location demanded to see a service animal certificate that does not exist - the fake "certificates" you can buy online are not ADA compliant nor are they required under the law. A service animal doesn't even have to wear their vest under the law but mine had his on. This location turned us away even after I explained the ADA laws to them. Their lack of knowledge was abhorrent and in turn triggered my condition (I have a psychiatric service dog). This used to be one of my favorite places, but now that it's clear they blatantly violate federal law and discriminate against those with disabilities, I will never go back. Be aware.

We love Black Bear and go often, but the last visit we had to send our food back because it was cold. Cold steak and breakfast food made the experience disappointing. Overall, though, we've had enjoyable meals and will still go back.

Cassie was an amazing waitress! We even shuffled seats, and she kept up with which drinks went where! Super attentive, made great recommendations, and really friendly!

The food was good, atmosphere was good. We were the youngest couple there (people over 70). Was definitely a strange feeling. Waitress was perky, but only offered to fill my glass once after we were done with our meal.

Actually first time eating here and sorry I waited so long. Our waitress was fantastic, friendly and helpful. Coffee was very good and fresh. My better half had the steel cut oatmeal and they had almond milk for her, big plus as she's vegan, she enjoyed it. I had the good old standby, eggs and bacon with hash browns, which also was very good. Relaxed atmosphere, kept the coffee cups full and no rush.

One of the worst experiences I had in my life. They couldn't get the food right. When a restaurant had an item on the menu I expect the cooks know how to cook them. Apparently not!
But worst was the waitress. She was absolutely unprofessional, had a bad attitude, didn't even think about apologizing after the food came wrong and forgot about my kids dessert. Avoid this place if you are in the vicinity!

I would give this restaurant 5 stars over and over again. Black Bear Diner has always been a family favorite, especially in this location. The service and food is excellent. We sat almost immediately, the food arrived piping hot and delicious and I never had to ask for a refill, (even with a party of 17). The wait staff was very attentive, especially our waitress Cassie. When I asked for extra gravy for my steak, it was brought to me, post haste.

Highly recommend this location and its Chicken Fried Steak.

Our family just had a late lunch at Big Bear in American Fork. The food was very good, and the service by Makiah was excellent. Makiah was very attentive displaying EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SKILLS. She was cordial, professional, timely, very friendly taking some time to get to know us. Additionally, she has a great attitude toward life in general. She was a delight!!! We look forward to telling our friends about our experience. We'll be back !!!!

The service here was out of this world. Our waiter, Gary, was good with our kids and he was always checking to make sure our food was good and our drinks were filled. He has been one of the best waiters we have had in 10 plus years. Thank you so much Gary, because of you this is the only location we will be coming back to. The food at this Black Bear location is absolutely fabulous, the portion sizes are more that what you expect and the atmosphere was excellent was well.

Restaurant was less than half full when we sat down.
Despite that fact, both our drinks and our food took a very long time to be served.
I had the Reuben Sandwich with Chili and Huckleberry Lemonade which were all pretty good. My wife had a salad which she enjoyed, a burger and Chicken Strips rounded out the orders. All good, but it was tough to overcome how long it took to get served. The kitchen staff was obviously shorthanded.

On our way home from the airport with 12 hungry people… needed a place to eat. I called ahead to see how busy they were and when the hostess heard 12 she gave a good-natured little laugh because they were pretty busy. When I informed her we’d be 20 minutes out I could hear the joy in her voice that she could accommodate us and said she’d have it all set.

We arrived and walked right to our table and had a very pleasant time connecting as a family eating great food that was all correct the first time (okay, one small hiccup that we decided not to mention). The server was kind and attentive and the whole experience was super fun.

Food was mediocre and our waitress was pretty rude considering we were the only brown people there. My pancakes were RAW and the fruit bowl was a JOKE. Literally one strawberry and 5 tiny size grapes. This was our first and last time here. Absolutely no tip for the waitress for the way she treated us.

Service was friendly and attentive. The pancakes I ordered were the Aloha special pancakes. Didn’t seem they were cooked in the middle. So I ate the edges. Asked if I wanted a replacement pancake, but i declined. Omelette was so so. I’m inclined to try Black Bear again, but thought that their breakfast omelette would be better. Nice environment with good music.

We waited 40 minutes for our food. Had to find our waitress Ella and asked for more coffee and about our food. She quickly came out with it. It was freaking cold. I had them cook it again for me. We were there well over an hour. Sorry Draper we won’t be back. Oh the fruit bowl. She forgot to bring it. Son never did get his toast and that’s probably ok because as you can see mine was cold. Sad sad sad.

Who would not absolutely love the Black Bear. I certainly did and do and absolutely always order that Pappa bear Burger also. All of their offerings come in healthy portions so you leave with more than your money's worth. You leave smiling because the experience at Black Diner was great

Went on a Friday mid-morning, not too busy. The table we got seated at still had food, some dishes, and drink spilled over table and bench. There were plenty of other spots he could have seated us at. The waitress had zero service. We waited 25 minutes for her to come take our order, even for a glass of water. The food was good once we finally got it. We were missing part of our order, but she never came by to check on us. It looked like she was just hanging out behind the counter, never looking in our direction.After we finished eating, we waited over 30 minutes for the check that never came. I will not go to this location again. I will stick to West Valley much better service there.

Went to lunch with my 2 grandson's. Our server, Misty, from the Draper, Utah location, was PHENOMENAL! She treated my boys as individuals, allowing them time to explain their orders and choices. She was quick, had a smile on her face the whole time, and I really appreciated how she went above and beyond. Thanks, Misty! You made my time with my grandsons a memorable moment!

This hungry bear found his meal at BBD. Very tasty meal. I had the bigfoot dinner. Wow. Fast, full of flavor and the white country gravy was on point. Oakley my server was fast and attentive. Well Done. One point to note, the Huckleberry lemonade was super sweet, but still delicious. Actually went well with the country gravy. Also the have the 3 bears pepper sauce. Nice touch!!

Stopped in for Sunday Breakfast - only waited 3 mins to be seated. The menu offers so many wonderful choices. Eggs Benedict was fantastic. The veggie scramble was great along with the red potatoes & biscuit. Avocado toast & poached eggs also 5 stars. Might seem a little on the pricier side for breakfast, but they give you plenty of food - enough to take some home. Also our server was super.

Waitress(Skye) chating extensively, I went to serve my own coffee twice. Waitress(Skye) did not even notice and she was right there next to the kitchen entrance. Manager bring the food not the waitress, she was still chating with coworker.

They didn't give us silverware, not a big problem but definitely annoying when you get take out to eat at a hotel. The toast and hashbrowns were burnt.

I never leave reviews, but this dinner deserved it. It was delicious, came out fast, and surprisingly affordable. Sometimes fast food costs more, and this has portion sizes for 2 meals. The waitress, Kiara, was nice and attentive. Great experience.

I've been wanting to try this place for a while and decided Mother's Day was the day. Ella was our server she was super sweet! Attentive with a cheery demeanor, Ella makes her customers feel like old friends rather than strangers. It's a really wonderful experience when dining somewhere.

The food was great - I had the blueberry lemonade, which was amazing. Not too sweet, and fresh blueberries! The chicken fried steak was super crispy and delicious, too.

Overall, great experience and I can't wait to try other things on the menu!
