Fred Meyer is one of the pioneers of one-stop shopping. They combine a complete grocery supermarket with a drugstore, clothing store, shoe store, fine jewelers, home decor store, home improvement center, garden center, electronics store, toy store, sporting goods store, and more under one roof.
Literally the dumbest grocery store ever been to my entire life. Can you do a dumb grocery store like this can you be logged into their Wi-Fi on and not be able to sign into the dumb app. Not only that I have heart failure and they only have one electric art and it dies halfway through the store. But you couldn't even get an employee to help anyone out I literally had left the groceries in the cart that was dead in the middle of the aisle and walked out of the store And couldn't find any employee to help me out of one way I will never come to the store ever again! Worst grocery store I've ever been to! Worst customer service! I feel completely left down let down as a customer I felt like the employees here don't care about anybody at all especially the customers did you involve In playing hide and go seek then taking care of their customers. I can honestly say Fred Meyers could careless about the about there customers needs nor did they care about their well-being. It's sad with grocery prices being as high as you are You think they give a crap about selling them but they don't. From now on I will take my money somewhere else. Poor show Fred Meyers did you officially have lost yourself a customer and I was literally here on their grand opening.... Their customer service is non existent, never want will I shop here again! What happened to common courtesy.....

Understaffed both in the store and pharmacy department.
They can't open more than like 3 registers at a a time. Lines wrap around the store, everyone just uses self checkout which I've personally witnessed blatant theft.
Overall a good place get stuff. That being said there's a huge homeless camp across the street.

I usually don’t go around to Fred Meyer as I already have a Costco card and shop there but I was really taken back with the selection and variety. I went to purchase some items for an elderly person and one of the stock people assisted me by showed me which aisle it was in and then I was able to purchase my items quickly with Lynne the customer service rep both were very friendly and I hope to see them again when I go shopping in the future.

I had to drive down from Vancouver to here to pick up some baby stuff. Will definitely visit again. Impressed with customer service here.

The Bakerview Fred Meyer is my go-to market. It has better prices than most local stores. It has decent organic and vegan offerings. It is not full of entitled shoppers. Overall the staff is nice, and there is one fantastic manager. The store is always clean and pleasant. It is usually well-stocked, and the selection of foods is solid (but not fantastic). There is a good loyalty program, and if you spend a little effort you can save a decent amount of money. It's a nice balance between all the factors that I consider when buying groceries.

Long lines with half the self-checkout lanes being closed and 1 worker having to manage all of the self checkout creating even longer waits. Quick trip to the store for soup turned into a long wait standing around in line for two items. I don't blame the employees at all, Fred Meyer needs to pay people living wages and maybe they would have more employees to work the stagnant checkout lanes that were closed. This was at 11am on a Tuesday...

The checkout lines are extremely long they understaff intentionally The five for a reduced price never really works on the register you have to watch that The carriages are filthy and only half of them work and the produce department looks like a bunch of hippies with unnetted long hair falling into the produce The prices are about 30% higher than haggens and 50% higher than Amazon Fred Meyers has become a dump. There's nobody in the clothes department department you can't try on clothes because they're all locked up you have to walk across the store and find somebody it usually isn't anyone available. The laundry detergent is locked up sporting goods is all locked up when you push the button for service forget it no one's really coming maybe one out of five times place is gone completely downhill. The produce department looks like a slum. As for the digital coupon BS that's just a marketing gimmick I asked to check out girl how it works she said she had no idea when I tried to scan and use it I was told by one of the workers it doesn't work in Fred Meyers go figure. And the bathrooms smell horrific there's no ventilation they've been that way for over a decade.
The worst most grotesque aberration of business conduct is their lack of any choice of healthy food anywhere in the store it's all junk will cause you cancer diabetes lethargy and general overall ill health.

I took a break from shopping here for a long while. Recently, I returned and am pleased to see improvement in the number of checking staff on duty. There are plenty of self check spots available, but I always have a large order because I only shop weekly. We live 20 plus miles from the store.
Prices are fair and plenty of selection. I really appreciate not having to go to another store for hard to find items.
To get 5 stars from my reviews, I would need Fred Meyer to do better with product restocking. The dairy department is often out of my preferred products and I have to select an alternative.

After i got passed the 3 parked cars blocking the entrance, i saw a homeless man bathing in the entrance with the cart wipes. But hey I got what I needed and only got stoped twice at checkout because the robot thought i was stealing 2 of the 5 $1.50 bags of frozen broccoli. Oh an than having to leave my cart 25ft from my car and make 4 trips with my groceries because the cart locked up (in the parking lot). So in conclusion I give my local freddy's 4 stars only because my man in self checkout was so awesome just like he has always has been since I was a kid 15 years ago. So thank you Daren? I think? It was only you that reminded me that I'm not shopping in skidrow.

The fact that they skip over Autumn and put out full fledge winter decor makes me furious. Their deals aren't even deals anymore, their rewards program is not even worth it like it used to be back in the day, now I just shop at Safeway in Lynden. They give me free stuff, have way better deals and their gas is way cheaper, and they give bigger gas rewards.
Fred Meyer's clothes also used to be worth it but not anymore, they only sell crop tops, or T-shirts. We need full shirts again.

Decent prices, clean store and friendly employees. Sometimes confusing finding things because of the layout. There seems to be very little reason behind it. And it is nothing like the other Fred Meyer store in town that is only a few miles away. Nice one stop shop alternative to the other big box store down the street. UPDATE: lost a star due to the fact that you have to be on guard more than ever against the very real possibility of having your things stolen. Whether it's from your vehicle while you're shopping or even from your cart as you turn to grab something off the shelf. They have had to make the security much more obvious. They even have had to lock up the laundry soap so you have to get someone to come unlock the doors to get any to buy. It's getting to be too much of a pain to even go grocery shopping anymore.

Decent stores, good value. Unfortunately, at the Bakerview Fred Meyer in Bellingham there seems to be a huge increase in drug trafficking and pan handling. It's to the point I won't be shopping there any longer. Literally, the last 4 times I've gone, I witnessed people buying and selling drugs in the parking lot, both immediately in front of the entrances, and the west side parking lot. The last 2 times I had to walk by the people to get to my car! This past Saturday was the final straw. AFTER having to walk by 3 women buying and selling drugs in order to reach my car, I witnessed a male pan handler peeing in the bushes by the sidewalk, as I was waiting to turn right from the parking lot into Bakerview. Fred Meyers, you can do better.

I enjoy going to Fred Myers because it’s a one stop shop kind of place with competitive pricing. The things that I don’t like, isn’t necessarily their fault. I don’t like the amount of shoplifting I see going down, but I wouldn’t have noticed it happening if their security staff was trained to not be so obvious when they are watching a suspected shoplifter.

Carts are nearly impossible to use due to the security device that locks the wheels. They want to keep carts from getting stolen, so they made them unusable AND took away the hand baskets, so you can either sort through the carts to find a working one, or you can carry everything in your hands.
Edit: hand baskets are back! The carts are still tricky but it’s better than before.
Edit (9/9/2024): hand baskets are inexplicably gone again.

One of the positive things about Fred Meyer is that if you shop there you can save money on your gas --like today I saved $0.50 per gallon. My shopping experience on 8-1-2024 between approx. 8:40 PM and 10:00 PM was extremely unpleasant. The clerk at the service desk was utterly rude despite the fact that I approached her in an unfailingly polite manner. I then had another employee treat me in a highly rude manner during check-out. Lately, the outside area of the building is very dirty with lots of trash all over.

Employees are great. They never have enough registers open nor care to open more. They usually have 15 registers closed. Be ready to get stuck in a line for 20 minutes as the back of the line will be halfway down one of the grocery aisles. Management doesn't seem to care. It's really sad that even Walmart will start hollering for their employees to jump on registers when they see a hint of a line and Fred Meyer doesn't even go anywhere near their checkouts. You could use their self checks, but they're so finicky that you'll spend half your checkout time with a "help is on the way" message on screen. Their shopping carts have locks on them to prevent theft, but all they to is cause them to lock up on your way to your car so you have to carry everything the rest of the way. I've taken to leaving my empty cart in the middle of the road because I won't carry them back anymore.

I am done with shopping this store. I stopped shopping for a year when they were always understaffed and the only way to get a shopping cart was to follow some one out to their car to get there cart. I heard there were new carts so I gave it another chance. I should have ran when the carts in front of the handicapped parking all had locked wheels. I went inside, got a cart hoping for a fresh experience. Staff was rude, very few check out lines available and self check had a line down the middle of an isle. I waited in line for at least 15 minutes only to get 1/2 way out to my car(which was parked very close) and the wheels locked up. I had to abandon my cart in the parking lot and hand carry all my groceries to my car. The frustration is not worth it. Kroger shopper for over 20 years but I am done. Low prices can't make up for the awful experience.

I come here often to get groceries after work, the lines at 8:30 pm every single night are horrible, I saw that there was another self check out open and decided to use that until one of the employees said next person in lone goes there. So i got in line, there was only one line for both self checkouts, by the time it was my turn, people made another line for the second self checkout that has more registers and i was just standing there dumbfounded with my stuff wondering what is going on. It so ridiculous and unorganised, I will definitely avoid this store from now on because this isn't a once in a while thing, lines are bad here every day and it's tiring to the point where i just want to leave everything somewhere there and go to a different store.

I used the restroom, it is the worst bathroom to use, dirty, outdated, gross. I had left my phone in the bathroom by accident. My husband called the store to see if it was there where I left it. They were suppose to call him back to see if it was there, NO RESPONSE back to him. He decided to call my phone, another person (not an employee) answered the phone. She luckily was an honest person, she had found the phone. She should have turned the phone to customer service but didn't. When he talked to the person, she was waiting for her father to pick her up at a bus stop. She said she would wait until my husband to come pick up the phone. When he arrived, she handed over the phone. She had made 3 calls on my phone, 1 to Arizona & 2 other calls. Luckily she gave back my phone. This could have been another situation to have the police track my phone. No thank you to Fred Meyer staff.

This Fred Meyers has really gone downhill over the last few years. They finally got some carts in stock, although many of them are in very bad shape. Like driving a car with bad steering alignment or a locked up tire. Isles are regularly blocked up with insta shoppers taking up room, making it difficult to navigate the aisles. They are regularly short of checkers or only have one self checkout running with a line down the freezer isle waiting. Hopefully, they will get it together soon, or I may have to endure shopping someplace else.
