I like Sportmans Warehouse they usually have what you are after and it is usually decent quality. They didn't have near the selection of BBQ rubs and sauce I hoped for.

Unhelpful behind the counter. Other stores will let you do paperwork in-store on a computer but not these guys. Go to store outside of Whatcom county.

I guess it's the day you go in, the thing(s) you seek, and who is working. This adage seems to be true. If I believed everything I read, I never would have stepped into this store. I was looking for a fish combo reel and pole and spooled line. I had an idea of what i wanted but to be honest, there are so many players in this market right now that it's tough to know what purchase is is right for me and the price can vary insanely. The great thing is they have an aisle with every reel they sell on display so you can pick up the demo and put it in your hands. Fantastic.

To keep this simple, I walked out with a mid-tiered Pflueger rod and spinning reel combo as well as some fluorocarbon line -- which they offered to spool for me on purchase . Being an ex-fisherman (life happens), I know the guy helping me knew his stuff and navigated me through the many options -- and they got a lot of them. I got the size of reel I wanted, the length of pole I wanted, and the line strength I didn't know I wanted.

Even the sales clerk who issued my license was on the ball, she knew the law, and answered all my questions. She herself is a fly fisherman and just "got it". In the end, I got a pole and reel in the price range I wanted and some experience from the sales team backing it up to give me confidence in my new purchase. I was not oversold or pressured to buy anything.

I spent the last $1 out of my purchase of $380 at this store. I will NEVER set foot here again and I have $$ to spend. They clearly do not give a rats @$$ about customer service. We didn't make a purchase here, but were looking for some winter boots to prepare for wet days or snowy days. The selection was small and we were told that some merchandise was sent to new stores opening in the U.S.
The store is large and has lots of departments in which to find many outdoor needs.

I just had the most pleasant and fantastic experience directly with the receiving manager. She helped me so efficiently and expediently even though I was not even in her state. She helped me with an issue no other store was willing to do even though it was part of their job. Thank you so much Amber for being an amazing person and going above and beyond!

I like everything about the store Except for one thing, the only bags they have available for product that you purchase. Will cost you $1.50! Ridiculous! Wake up management, your customers want bags available at a reasonable price.

I have gone into the Bellingham Sportsman’s warehouse for basic equipment and gear. The store is full of “stuff” frivolous filler on the shelves, but they are seriously lacking in the many commonly needed essentials. I have gone to the store, that last three times and each times, searched for what I needed, found nothing, had no staff assistance and left empty handed.

I have ordered gear online and picked it up at the store successfully although the shipping times are exceptionally long.

I would give them zero stars if I could. My elderly mother went to buy a little handgun, she was by herself. Terri sold her a 380 never asked if she could rack the gun and being her age that should have been her 1st question. To top that off she sold her 9MM ammo..tell me how trained she is. I flew into Bellingham my mom showed me the gun and I was very upset. I went to the store and they would not do anything to help us however the manager did give the money back for the wrong ammo
We would have traded or bought another gun for her but at this point I feel they have taken advantage of an elderly lady with no break down on receipt to see what the charges were. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS COMPANY AND WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE AND IM A HUGE GUN OWNER AND HAVE MANY FRIENDS THAT BUY GUNS..ONIONS TO SPORTSMANS

The people were super nice. I think there is a slight incompatibility between my hobbies (backpacking, climbing — more lightweight stuff) and what gear they sell (car camping, fishing, hunting — more heavy duty stuff), but otherwise, it’s a tidy store with friendly people!

In January of 2023 I purchased a training collar for my Lab pup that I'm training myself to retrieve waterfowl. The day after I purchased it I put the collar on my dog to get her used to having it on. The second day after purchase I tried turnkey the collar on and after many many attempts, it wouldn't turn on. I returned to Sportsman's Warehouse with the collar and receipt in hand for an exchange. The gun counter associate said that they can not accept exchanges or returns of training collars because of the lithium battery, that if they're tampered with they can start a fire.
I told her that this is a $300 training collar and nowhere in your return policy does it state that training/e-collars can not be returned. She told me that the return policy says that "Batteries and Portable power" can not be returned and since this has a battery in it, it can not be returned.
Once again, I told her that I didn't want to return it, that I simply wanted to exchange it. She said, "Nope, that can't happen". I was expected to lose my $300 and to not get a working collar.
I informed her that the only way I'm leaving this store is with a new collar or the money that I paid for this broken one. The manager, which was in back somewhere because this gal kept having to go back and talk to her, finally said that she'll "allow" this one exception and return my money to me.
If zero stars was an option, that's what I'd give this girl and this store. Prices are extremely high and most of the staff aren't knowledgeable and or friendly. Most times you're on your own when you go into this store. The only reason these guys have a lot of stuff is because most people will not pay their high prices. They'll buy online a wait the couple of days.
This place does have a price match (including online prices) policy and a military discount but they are not advertised anywhere inside the store. They'll match or beat by 1% and the military discount is 5% but YOU, have to ask.

**UPDATE on Feb 6, 2023
You can see that Sportsman's Warehouse customer service replied to my review. They also said that if I have any questions or concerns to contact them. So, I contacted them regarding this issue I had. Please note, that was 4 days ago and they have yet to answer my email.
Their responses to reviews gives you the impression that at least someone cares. DO NOT let that fool you. Most store employees and customer service of Sportsman's Warehouse have absolutely no interest in what their customers have to say.

Shout out to Don In the fishing department. He helped us out today in The Knife Department at the end of the day and was a superstar! Fast service, friendly, and brought the products up to the register for us so we can continue to shop. We will be back-Thanks Don!

Going in to purchase a firearm with a family member, I was told that I cannot purchase a firearm for the family member because it is considered a straw purchase, regardless that we both completed paperwork individually and neither of us have any exclusions prohibiting us from purchasing firearms. When we said we had purchased a handgun in the same manner before in that store without issue by their employees, we were put on a "No Firearm Purchase List" for attempting to make a purchase in that manner. I do not appreciate being made to feel like a criminal on a "no fly list" when I did nothing wrong, but they had failed to properly train their employees on their stores policies and procedures. Later, i attempted to call for corporate clarification of policy and was told they don't have a corporate person overseeing the sale of firearms and was referred to the Dept of Defense website for clarification which doesnt even make sense. The manager stated it is store policy to purchase a gift card for someone else to pay for a gift firearm. That had not been explained to me or my family member on either occassion that we were in store. We had stated we were going to transfer money so my family member could pay for it himself so there would be a paper trail that wanted. I respect the stores right to sell or not sell to whomever they choose, but regardless I will not be shopping there ever again and recommend a different reputable local firearm dealer for purchasing your firearms..

Purchased a fire arm and had it sent to sportsman's. They never informed us of when my product arrived. We called several times and were told the item was not in. After weeks we went in and it had been there for weeks with not notification. They did not start the background check when my wife set up the item shipment and had to start it weeks after the purchase. Finally when we went in to pick the item up weeks later they had no update on the background check and the manager had quit. Now we are stuck with a fire arm in their possession with no way to take possession for however long it takes them to obtain a new manager with an ffl.

Great stock of camping equipment clothing clothing firearms and ammunition.

The unfortunate part about the store is that the store itself doesn't do its own ordering but they are at the mercy of Corporate. The downside of that is they never have a consistency in product nor do they have Accessories for the products that they do have. This is one reason why I have given them 3 stars.

The other reason I have given them a 3 star rating is because the waiting period to purchase a firearm in the state of Washington is 10 days. That time starts from the date of purchase but the sportsman warehouse doesn't start the time until law enforcement actually does the The background check. You could be waiting to pick up your purchased firearm for 15 to 20 days As a result.

I don't want to end this on a negative note so I would just like to note that customer service is great. the store employees work hard to accommodate the customers. I give them a 5 star for customer service.

I felt like I was not even present at the store. No one greeted me and then when I was going to check out to spend approximately $200 the woman behind the cash register was on the phone with someone and literally sat in a chair and ignored me. I walked out without spending a dime. Try hiring people that are friendly and acknowledge the presence of customers because I will not be returning anytime soon!

Stood in line to pay, gotten a senior CSR that offered a rewards program but was so scattered and abandoned the transaction. Was very close to just walk out of the store without buying the item. Horrid service and rudely apologized by sir’ing a woman in uniform. Wow! How ignorant is this CSR?

Well stock store. The employees who work the gun counter are not very knowledgeable. The employee helping me tried to tell me a bolt action single shot 22lr was a semi auto and I would have to wait 10 days to take it home. Needless to say I went to Dave’s sporting good in lynden and was able to work with someone that had more than a heartbeat working the gun counter

MILITARY DISCOUNT STORE~I believe 5%. This store as got EVERYTHING you need and then some. I was able to browse store and wasn't "hounded" or "hovered" by employees which felt great!! Definitely going back for more goodies.

I do not believe this store, or maybe it's management, gives a flip about customers that are NOT hunters or looking to purchase a gun. I prefer to do my shopping in person, especially for shoes/boots as online can be a bit of a gamble. I was hopeful given the reviews of a well stocked store but that was not the case here. Almost nothing was in stock, well minus a perfectly well stocked gun counter. The associates were nice enough but I do not believe this store is interested in catering to people outside of the hunting department. And based of the reviews here they may need additional training. I don't know what happened in the last month, it could very well be shipping delays. All in all, not impressed, go at your own risk of wasted time.

Men's Wearhouse has more knowledge of firearms and hunting. They do not offer gunsmithing services contrary to what their website and their TV says in store. Waited 45 minutes to be informed that only guns you buy there and a service plan you have to pay for at the time you buy the gun, are eligible to be shipped to Utah where they can be worked on by a quote "real gunsmith." False advertisement to a laughable degree. Gun counter took forever. They stopped using the take a number system for a while and informed me they were too busy to use it. I helped an old man because no one else was available to do so. The employees were nice but ownership clearly doesn't want them to succeed. There was no management presence. No more experienced veteran employees from a neighboring store to help the place stay on track. I don't blame the employees.

The store itself is like if you stuffed a Cabela's inside a Big5 and stuffed it with recently laid off Ross employees. You can get black powder stuff there (unless you want a black powder rifle or handgun). They have a wide selection of handguns. If you consider an AR a sporting rifle, then you will be pleased by the inventory in this store. They have reloading supplies which is nice.

While we were waiting at the gun counter. An old man needed help because his pistol wasn't firing right. I talked with him and he hadn't cleaned or lubed it. He bought the pistol at the store, the first gun he ever owned and didn't advise him to clean and lube the gun before using it or after. I helped the dude out. 3 employees knew I needed help getting a new recoil pad for my 1906 Springfield. I get there to find out that they only carry slip on pads and the "we don't actually provide gunsmithing services like our website says we do" speech didn't help. Just a dumb store and scheisty company.

This place doesn't give their sales associates keys to open dressing rooms. Managers are too focused on selling guns to open one up. 15 minutes wait to get into an empty dressing room is not great. May as well shop online or with a local place with higher costs and better service.
